The Bad Batch season 3 has been interesting thus far. I really liked episodes 1-7 and I've nothing particularly bad to say about any of those episodes. But honestly episode 8, and after today, episode 9, it's once again gotten to be a bit of a pain to get through. Maybe I'm just too much of a Crosshair guy, idk. Today's episode especially irked me but last time I discussed the topics it delves into I got some pissy people in my notes and I'd rather avoid that this time around.

Would you ever want to see Dakota Kai and/or Naomi in the Bloodline? I know Dakota has expressed interest, and if they both get involved it could be an interesting attempt at "brokering peace" between the Big Three and Damage CTRL

Never really thought about it much, still feel no spark to think about it, really. I like what they're doing outside it just fine, nothing has urged me to consider it much (Naomi somewhat of course), but if there was something interesting in it, I'm in, whatever sure, I'm on this weird ass Bloodline ride for the full trip even if it ends up flying off a cliff idc.

also about that song i've posted (though its just the chorus sjsjsk). so this time i went with this order bc the last time i tried to make the instrumental after i finished working on the vocals it didn't go well: lyrics > instrumental > vocals which was. a weird experience (i'm used to already having an instrumental to work with) but it actually worked much better for me. i didn't want to do anything crazy with the lyrics and i tried to make my expectations as low as possible and just went "okay let's try to write smth in like an hour or less". the lyrics are kinda stupid, they don't rhyme that well, but i did it and was like "ehhh it will probably be like a two minute song"

except. i was wrong and when i made the instrumental. it turned out to be at least four minutes long. and that's not just me making the instrumental like that, if you consider the lyrics, it actually IS a pretty long song.

after that i just kinda. needed a moment bc again, i basically forced myself not to overwork myself and not to put too much effort into this. i use free samples for music and i can only afford free voicebanks. AND MY SONG TURNED OUT TO BE LONGER THAN MOST SONGS THAT COME OUT TODAY....

back to your usual programming i think the past/present suite is one of the greatest examples of an absolutely gut-wrenching energy build on a single beat with repeated, slow motifs in contemporary music. britell talks about creating a "wall of sound" in this piece and absolutely fucking nails it. what i would give to play this in a full orchestra.

hii i love reading your kpop asks it makes some things click in my head!! idk if you know them that well but do you have any opinions on verivery's dancing? i feel their dance line is pretty strong in the realm of idol dancers/choreo goes 😊 like for me there's something about hoyoung's dancing that's so pleasing to watch lol idk if it's his body control or lines but i think he balances out the rigid nature of idol choreo really nicely without losing the sharpness of the dance

hello! i am somewhat familiar with verivery although i don't follow them that closely. they do have a very strong performance line, although that isn't really enough nowadays to be a group's signature anymore. verivery falls into the same trap that a lot of fourth gen boy groups do, and that is that they haven't quite found a thing that makes stand out from the glut of other fourth gen bgs of the 7+ member variety. i think they're maybe getting a bit closer to establishing something with their cbs this year, which i've found to be the most compelling work they've done (other than photo from rtk), but obviously it depends on if they keep up that theme or not as they carry forward.

i do think hoyoung is one of their stronger dancers; he has pretty good control, but personally i don't think verivery's choreo generally is that interesting to me, so i don't usually have a particular draw to watching them.
