one piece straw hat post-ts redesigns part 3: nico robin!!
this one took a decent amount of effort, i actually had to try more than once to get the design right lol
i guess i should start with what i dislike about her original post-timeskip outfit:
Tumblr media
i like the kind of spy vibes achieved by the slicked back hair, shades, and leather top, but all that kinda falls flat when paired with the tropical wrap/skirt and bright red heels. it feels like two halves of two different outfits put together. like if oda had a really good idea for the top half of robin’s outfit, but got stumped on the bottom half and just settled for a tropical/beachy vibe since they’re out on the ocean…?? ig…??
maybe this is nitpicky, but while that giant wrap/skirt thing is pretty, it looks like it could fall off at any point. and it doesn’t look like she’s wearing anything underneath. and her heels are impractical. my mom can walk better in heels than in flat shoes on solid ground, but not when it comes to treeking through rough terrain. i don’t think a broken or twisted ankle should befall our adventuring archeologist.
also! her post-ts jolly roger features a cowboy hat, but none of her outfits since sabaody archipelago have featured even an ounce of cowboy vibes!! a very serious problem in my opinion!
ok now onto the design itself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i initially tried following the moodboard i made, but ended up almost completely ignoring it for the final design.
she’s a multifaceted woman, which was kinda difficult for me to represent all in one outfit.
obviously i wanted to reference her general cowboy vibes she had going on all throughout the pre-timeskip.
i wanted to keep the spy vibes too, since it matches her skills with espionage! idk how well i kept that tho, since i also specifically wanted a lighter color palette.
the palette was inspired by robin’s wano arc outfit, my favorite of hers!! the focus on lighter colors while still maintaining the blue and black suits her very well!! she’s so pretty!! i also wanted it to specifically contrast the deeper colors she wore pre-ts, symbolizing her softening as influenced by her crew and how she no longer needs to hide herself from the world
she’s always going to be a little goth to me tho! her fascination with the macabre fits well with the ideologies of the subculture. i was especially inspired by her deep purple dress with that lace trim she wore during thriller bark, it gives me whimsigoth vibes. so i wanted to reincorporate the wrap in a way that feels like something she would authentically wear!
and obv i like to design my outfits to be more utilitarian, with little details of stuff more useful to robin’s role as the archeologist! like a book holster! she’d probably have a bag too… but i forgot to design one…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here she is!!! ain’t she purdy!!
her cowboy boots have laces, cause i think it’d be a weird little detail oda would add to clothes. it also makes them look more like victorian women’s boots, referencing the victorian influences of the revolutionary army’s steam punk aesthetic! speaking of the ra… they were a complete afterthought to the process… i just don’t think high necklines and frills and balloony sleeves suit robin ;-; so i gave her these little belt straps at the bottom of her dress pants to secure them kinda like you would hakama. also cause there’s a lot of unnecessary decorative belts in steampunk lol.
her corset is based off this vivian westwood denim corset featured in my moodboard! except i added that fastening thing from robin’s enies lobby outfit! i think that outfit is supposed to be based of a biker’s jacket??? but i digress! the purple embroidery is a camellia! i chose camellias cause they look kinda like robin’s hana hana fruit, but also cause they represent her perseverance and grace! the fringes? are for the added cowboy vibes! the wrap also has camelias instead of monsters leaves and hibiscus flowers! the lace trim replacing the tassels looks kinda like spider webs for the spookiness!
her silver bangles were inspired by the little bracelets she originally wore, as well as silver headdresses worn by the yakut tribe in russia! according to the volume 56 sbs robin irl would be russian, and id also imagine her as indigenous! the belt was just cool and also happened to be silver. the earrings and pendant on her hat are also supposed to look like victorian cameo pendants, not explicitly steam punk but that’s ok!
i was having a really hard time choosing her hairstyle! i wanted to give her short hair, since i really liked that one sketch in oda’s post-ts concept art! also representative of her letting go of her painful past, the whole “hair holds memories” thing. but i couldn’t get it right with the choppy rectangular shapes ;-; her ponytail is very majestic tho :)
Tumblr media
speaking of hair! i had to go on a mini rant to my mom about how difficult for it is for non op fans (and from a design perspective) to tell apart boa hancock and robin for multiple reasons (hairstyle, whitewashing skin color, oda’s artsyle’s weird-ass sexual dimorphism, dress, etc). so i made a little graphic to show how they can be visually different while having technically similar features!
Tumblr media
and her jolly roger! now accurate!
Tumblr media
and my first attempt at designing robin… i used to just be ok with it, but i don’t like it at all anymore lol
i hope yall like! up next is luffy! after that… great question i am so soooo slow and drawing men scares me ;-;
edit: oh also! @chialattea !!! i made another one!!!

something in the air - s. kiszka
pairing: sam x reader
a/n: hi guys! it feels so weird to be writing on here after a very long, shall we say, hiatus... this is a decently long one (compared to others i've written) and it's also my first full-blown smut. so i'm kinda nervous about that, but i do have experience writing smut so i hope it's decent lol. anyways, i was just inspired and wanted to do some writing. i've opened up requests again if you have any. this is unedited so sorry for any mistakes! let me know what you think.
genre: smut (18+ ONLY, MINORS DO NOT INTERACT).
word count: 3.4k
summary: the reader and sam attend a friend's wedding at the beach. things get a little out of hand.
warnings: alcohol consumption, explicit sex scenes, fingering, unprotected sex, etc.
There was something in the air tonight. A light ocean breeze caressed your skin delicately as you sat reveling in the candlelight. A few tables over, you watched one of your close friends from college, Anna, giving her wedding toast alongside her now-wife. The ceremony had been intimate and beautiful, but nothing in comparison to the breathtaking reception taking place around you. There were a few tables clustered throughout the grass, each decorated with elegant candles and gold-trimmed glassware. White roses were scattered around: as centerpieces, hanging from the canopy above, and even carefully placed on the ground around you.  She raised her glass of champagne in the air, the warm light shimmering against the chilled glass, and she made her toast. Beside you, Sam lifted his own drink in the air, and clinked it with yours. You took a long drink, watching with tears in your eyes as Anna kissed her wife and everyone cheered.
“I can’t believe I’m crying,” you muttered to your smiling boyfriend. Sam merely laughed, brushing a strand of hair out of your eyes and stroking your head comfortingly.
“I can,” he said in return. “You cry at weddings on TV, Y/N.”
You laughed at this, your voice barely audible over the excited chattering all around you. Now that dinner was over, and all of the toasts made, it was well into time for dancing. You took another swig of your champagne, the expensive drink bubbling over your tongue and stinging slightly in your throat. You had never been a very good dancer– you figured it would probably help to loosen you up if you were a little tipsy.
Sam was already on his feet, his cream-colored linen top unbuttoned halfway down. You could see a thin sheen of sweat adorning his skin from the humidity in the air. He grasped you around your wrist, and pulled you to your feet without a second thought. You still had your champagne flute clutched in one hand as he dragged you over to the stone dance floor. Both of your shoes lay forgotten beneath the table.
There was a slow, beachy instrumental playing in the background as the other guests joined all of you. The brides were entwined with one another several feet away, and you smiled as you caught Anna’s eye and mouthed, “Congratulations.”
“You know,” said Sam as he curled an arm around your waist. “I always thought the beach was a shitty place for a wedding until now.”
You laughed incredulously, hushing him with a finger to his lip. He grinned.
“What changed?” you asked, voice almost a whisper. You swayed along to his lead, keeping your hand with the champagne balanced on his shoulder. The last thing you wanted to do was shatter the glass by dropping it.
“Being here with you,” he said softly. The candlelight glowed around him; silhouetted against the darkness of the sky above the ocean behind him, he looked more like an angel than ever. You brought your free hand up, and placed it against his cheek.
“I love you,” you said, your face flushing. You were never big on PDA, but here, somehow it felt like you were the only two people in the world. Sam leaned his forehead against yours, and you felt your breaths mingle together.
“I love you, honey.”
As the song changed, Sam moved to grab your hands.
“Hold on, let me put this back,” you said, taking a step to put the champagne back on the table.
“Nonsense,” he grabbed the glass from your hand, drained it in one gulp, then placed it on top of the nearby piano. Luckily it was unoccupied.
“Don’t let me leave that there,” you said. He grasped your hands as the song began to pick up tempo, and spun you around. Your dress billowed gracefully around your legs, barely sweeping over the tops of your feet. You hummed softly along, grateful for the cool night breeze. It surprised you that you had yet to sweat all of your makeup off; you thought it had been an incredibly hot day to choose to have a wedding on. Although the makeup survived, your hair could not say the same. The silken tresses you arrived with  had now sweated out to reveal unruly waves framing your face.
The champagne was finally hitting you as Sam spun you once more. Your head swam blissfully. You thought vaguely that this was the happiest you had ever been. The night air grew cool against your burning skin, against the temperature rising between your body pressed against Sam’s. You were still sweating, although it was less noticeable as you were very distracted by the ethereal view of your boyfriend swaying in the low light. His eyes were closed, head nodding as he held you close to him. The hand on your waist traced tiny circles along the exposed skin of your back.
To you, it seemed that you had only been dancing for a few minutes. But, when you finally peeled your eyes away from Sam, you noticed that there were very few guests remaining besides the two of you. You were the only couple still dancing. Anna and her wife entertained a few friends at their table, chatting animatedly. There were a few guys crowded around the bar, laughing lightly at something the bartender said. Behind you, a waiter swept the empty champagne glass off of the piano.
Sam finally caught your attention once again, tugging on your hand.
“Let’s go down to the water,” he said, his voice whispering along with the breeze.
“Hmmm?” You asked distractedly, meeting the warmth of his eyes. There was something deeper than mere affection clouding his gaze, something burning there. His eyes had darkened considerably.
“Let’s go for a swim,” he said, a gentle grin playing on his lips.
“Okay,” you said, “Let me grab a towel.” You let his hand go for a second, grabbing a conveniently placed towel from a shelf at the edge of the lawn.
“C’mere,” he pulled you along, slipping past the group at the bar to the rocky path that led down to the beach. It was cooler here, without the burning candles and fairy lights and what little was left of the crowd. He walked with confidence, like he had been down this dim path before, leading you down to the sand. You stumbled a time or two, but he always caught you with ease. You were like an extension of himself– he was constantly aware of you there beside him.
The winding path led you down to something like a cove; it was shielded from the rest of the beach by several towering cliffs and some greenery. Behind you, you could vaguely see the glow cast from the wedding party, shimmering above the cliffs. You gaped at the sight around you; from the view at the reception, you would have no clue that this place even existed.
“How’d you know this was here?” you asked quietly. Your voice was still loud, as isolated as the two of you were. The only other sound around you was Sam’s slow breathing and the ocean waves lapping against the sandy shore. You placed the towel carefully in the sand, laying it out for when the two of you were done swimming.
Sam grinned, “I may have gone exploring this morning, before you woke up.”
Your jaw dropped. “Are you serious? I would’ve loved to see this place in the daylight!”
Sam hushed you quickly, pulling you into him. “Shhhh, baby,” his eyes glanced from your face up to the cliffs behind you. “Don’t want anyone else joining us down here.”
You made a face. “Why’s that?”
He grinned again. “Want you all to myself.” His voice was muffled as he pressed his lips into the crook of your neck, trailing kisses up to your jawline. He pressed his lips gently to the sensitive spot behind your ear, and you shivered as you tangled one hand into his hair. Your other hand gripped his shoulder desperately, your nails digging into his skin through his shirt. He breathed heavily, kissing up your jaw until your mouths were less than a centimeter away from each other’s.
His lips brushed yours, just barely, and you nearly whimpered. Your skin burned against his, and one of his hands snaked up your side to the zipper on your dress. “Take it off,” he said, his voice hoarse.
“What if someone finds us?”
“Don’t care,” he said, his lips finally finding purchase against yours. Your skin erupted in goosebumps as his fingers began to drag the zipper slowly down. Using the hand not tangled in his hair, you began to unbutton his shirt the rest of the way. Your fingers brushed against his stomach, and you felt the muscles clench beneath your fingers.
“Seeing you in this dress has been killing me all night,” he muttered against your mouth. “Couldn’t wait to get you out of it.”
You groaned against him.
His fingers reached the end of the zipper, and he began to peel the dress apart, watching with hooded eyes as the fabric dropped into the sand. You wore nothing beneath the dress. You breathed deeply, a shiver crawling up your spine as the cool night air hit your bare skin.
“God, you’re beautiful,” his hands found your bare skin, fingers dragging against your sides. He stood and admired you for a moment. Your hands twitched, resisting the urge to cover yourself; you felt exposed, standing there bare in the moonlight while he was almost entirely clothed.
“Sammy, ‘s cold out here,” you said, a low whine in your voice. Truthfully, it was cold, but you also could barely stand to see that look in his eyes and not have him touching you. You were almost writhing just from his gaze.
“Lay down,” he said, nodding towards the towel on the ground. You did as he said, lowering yourself gently to the ground. The towel was soft against your bare skin, and warmer than the night air. He stood above you for a second, then kneeled on the ground in front of you as he swept his shirt off of his shoulders and let it fall to the ground.
Without saying anything, he bent over you, crashing your lips together once again. The kiss was more desperate this time, now that you were sprawled beneath him and the starry sky. The sound of the waves behind you helped lull you into relaxation. His torso melded against yours, his skin burning hot. You were beginning to warm back up very easily. One of his arms propped his body above yours, but the other snaked down your chest. His fingers trailed beneath the valley of your breasts, tracing over to drag over one of your hardened nipples. You gasped into his mouth. He smiled against you.
You moaned into his mouth as he pinched the nipple, rolling it between the pads of his index finger and thumb. Your hips rolled up against him, trying to find any friction against his still-clothed bottom half. You felt the drag of his hardened bulge against your core for half a second, and let out a lewd moan.
“I love hearing you,” he muttered, finally disconnecting his lips from your own. His mouth once again trailed down your neck, sucking a dark mark into the skin of your collarbone before he moved back up to face you. “Let me hear you, baby.” Then, the fingers attending to your nipple moved down your stomach.
Your hips bucked up again, but he leaned back and used his other hand to keep you from moving. His hand dragged over your hip bone, and down to your thigh. He gripped the skin here, kneading your thigh as he watched your expression hungrily.
“Please, Sammy,” you whined, still writhing beneath him.
A look of smug satisfaction graced his features. “You’re so cute, honey, lying here so desperate for me. Begging me… and I haven’t even touched you yet…”
He licked his lips as his eyes dropped from your face, to your dripping core exposed to him. “So wet for me, hm?”
One finger dipped into your folds, slick and hot. He groaned at the feeling, coating the callused pad of his middle finger in your juices, before rubbing it delicately against your clit. He was torturing you, going so slowly that you were barely able to think about anything other than him giving you what you needed so desperately. And you needed him like never before.
Again, you tried bucking your hips, but he was pinning you down with ease. It was in these moments when you realized just how strong he was; how easy it was for him to overpower you and do whatever he wanted with you. The thought alone made you moan aloud.
“I need it faster, please,” you said desperately. Your voice barely made it out of your mouth before Sam was speeding up, just a bit. You threw your head back, your entire body tensing as the feeling of him working your body with his expertise shot through you. Your hands shot up, gripping his wrist as he increased the speed even further.
Without you asking, his other hand moved from its place above your belly button. He brought his middle and ring finger to his mouth, coating them in his saliva before he brought them down to your center. He teased your entrance excruciatingly slowly, as if this were the first time he was touching you at all.
Your face was on fire, and your nails began to dig into his skin. He was holding you right on the edge– his fingers on your clit speeding up and slowing down with each change in your facial expression. A moan tore from your throat as he continued edging you.
“Sammy–” you gasped, feeling the two of his fingers dip briefly into you, before he removed them.
“What’s that, honey? Did you say something?”
“Sam, please, I need it so bad…”
“You need what? Need me to stop?” His finger slowed again, and you nearly screamed as he moved to pull away from you.
“No– No, please, I need to cum. I’m so close, please,” you begged him, meeting his gaze. He grinned at you, his lips curling up into that sweet smile as if he weren’t torturing you with every single touch.
“Hmmm, how close?” He leaned forward, still smiling at you. His dark eyes met yours, his forehead brushing against your own. You could taste his breath, the faint remains of champagne making you dizzy as you gasped against him.
“So close, please, I need you so bad,” you whimpered, holding his wrist in a vice-grip. He still rubbed your clit, extremely slowly. Slowly enough to just keep you teetering against the edge. “Please,” you managed to squeak once more, and that seemed to be enough for him.
His fingers increased speed on your clit, and a second later he was curling two fingers inside of you as well. A string of high-pitched curses spewed from your lips, your back arching and your eyes screwed up. It was bliss, every muscle on your body tightening as you shook there beneath him. Your hips moved in time with the thrusts of his fingers, rocking against him.
Stars bloomed behind your eyelids, your forehead scrunched in concentration.
“C’mon, honey, cum for me,” Sammy coaxed you sweetly. He placed a kiss against the corner of your mouth, watching intently as your face contorted in pleasure. You were nearly screaming at this point, too fucked-out to care if anyone nearby could hear you.
“Fuck,” you breathed hoarsely. “Sammy, I’m gonna–”
“Let it go,” he soothed, and your body began to shake forcibly as you finally teetered over the edge. Your legs clenched around his hands, and you rocked your hips against him almost violently. Your voice cracked as you sang out his name, over and over again, his hands never stopping their ministrations. As you finally came down once again, he kissed you very gently, as if you were some delicate flower lying under him.
Your vision was hazy when you finally came to, after. You watched him as he fiddled with the clasp on his pants. You wanted to lean up and help, but your limbs felt like jelly as you laid there. Instead, you watched him in all of his glory. Sweat dripped down the side of his face, and he breathed as heavily as you were.
Your eyelids drooped as you watched him. It was pure bliss, seeing his figure silhouetted against the moonlight shining on the waves behind him. Your toes curled in the sand, and you shifted slightly as he freed himself from his pants and briefs. His cock sprung up against his stomach, and you reached for him instinctively. You began to sit up, but he stopped you.
“No, honey, I need you. Now,” he said breathily. He leaned over you once again, and placed a kiss against your forehead, then on both of your eyelids, your nose, and finally your lips. Between you, one of his hands guided him to your entrance.
Your mouth dropped open in pure ecstasy as he pushed inside of you; the both of you moaned in sync. His head fell into the crook of your neck as he slowly began to move. Your legs quivered around his waist already. The feeling of him stretching you open was divine; you thought this was as close to paradise as you had ever been in your life.
“It’s been too long,” he breathed against your skin. He placed open-mouthed kisses along your neck and shoulder as he rocked against you.
“Way too long,” you agreed. You missed feeling this, having him buried to the hilt inside of you. You loved being close to him. Having him be the only one to know you this way.
With every thrust, his cock dragged slowly against your g-spot. Your head was swimming again, as you jerked your hips up against him with every movement. He was slowly increasing the pace, grunting against your neck.
“Fuck, you’re so perfect for my cock, honey,” he mused, pulling away from your neck. You leaned up, planting a kiss on his jawline. You could taste the sweat dripping over his face as you moved up to press your lips against his. His tongue found its way into your mouth, tangling with yours as his movements became jerky.
You were getting close, too, your stomach clenching underneath him. You gripped his back with one hand, and moved the other between your bodies, circling your clit once again. You pressed your chest against his, holding him as tightly as you could as the both of you chased your high once more.
His hips continued their relentless movement, now barrelling into you. You were moaning uncontrollably now, your head thrown back in ecstasy.
“Fuck, Y/N, I’m close,” he moaned, his breath fanning against your face.
You nodded, “I know, Sammy, me too,” you breathed. “I want– I want you to cum inside me.”
His movements stuttered for a moment, but he resumed them easily. “Oh, honey, you’re killing me,” he groaned throatily. You sighed as he reached down and replaced your hand with his own. You let out a vulgar mewl, toes curling and hands gripping Sammy’s shoulders so hard you thought he would bleed.
You were right on the edge, your walls clenching around him as he deepened his thrusts. You were practically crying, his fingers toying with your clit relentlessly. You felt him twitch inside of you, and you knew it was time. He came inside of you, filling you to the brim with his cum. You sang his name again, your voice hoarse as you tightened around him, milking the rest of his orgasm out of him. It was over after another few thrusts, and he collapsed on top of you. You reached up, cradling his head as he leaned down into the crook of your neck. He placed a kiss on your collarbone, sighing.
“So good,” you hummed, exhausted.
“I needed that,” he whispered, kissing you again and again. “I love you so much, honey.”
“I love you, Sammy.”
He flipped off of you, and passed you his discarded shirt to wrap up in. You pulled it over your shoulders and buttoned it haphazardly. You were no longer cold, sitting there with the light breeze washing over your flushed skin. Sam pulled his pants back on, and wrapped his arm around you. You leaned into him and rested your head against his shoulder. A yawn fell from your lips as you sat there, admiring the view of the beach in front of you. You couldn’t be happier.

el tejano - habbey oneshot
(this is inspired the song el tejano by lauv and sofia reyes (which i recommend). you don't really need to know the song/lyrics to read it, but it would probably give context for certain details.)
The grating sound of a creaky window being opened filled the dorm room, replacing the sound of Deuce aggressively typing up an essay that was due later that week. He didn’t look up, as he knew it was his closest companion, sneaking through the window. Was there even a curfew on weekends? No, but what Heath didn’t know wouldn’t hurt.
Heath climbed into the room and threw himself down on his roommate’s bed, sighing dramatically. Deuce kept his eyes on his laptop and paid him no mind. Heath sat up and sighed even louder, which sounded more like a strangled scream.
Deuce chuckled to himself and rolled his desk chair towards the bed. He reached out to stop the chair from hitting the footboard and smiled at his best friend.
“Well, someone sure wants my attention,” Deuce said smugly.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Ask me how my day was!” Heath kicked off his shoes and brought his legs up to sit cross-legged.
“And you can’t just tell me, because…?”
“Because…suspense,” Deuce rolled his eyes, “and because no one else asked how my day was going the entire time I was out,” Heath said with a slight pout.
“Fine,” Deuce turned around to sit backward in his chair and crossed his arms over the back, “How was your day, Heath?”
Heath flailed his hands in excitement, “Great question!” Deuce held back a laugh, “I went to the park, made friends with some zombie dogs, and saw a flyer for this new nightclub place for teens. I went because, duh, and it was decorated to have this beachy vibe and I love the beach.”
Deuce nodded along, “Mhm…”
“And I stayed there for the rest of the night. but, there’s more!” Heath clapped his hands together.
“How can there be more if you stayed there all night?”
“I met a girl! I, Heath Burns, met a girl!”
“Huh, good for you, man,” Deuce pushed himself off the bed and attempted to keep writing his paper.
“Wait, wait, I gotta tell you all about it,” Heath climbed off the bed and headed towards his side of the room, just barely saving himself from tripping over his sneakers.
“Fine, but I gotta finish this,” Deuce gestured to his open document, “I promise I’m listening, go ahead.”
Heath plopped down into his own desk chair, “So you know Nirvana right? That human band?” Deuce hummed and nodded. “Apparently, there are Spanish covers of their songs, which is a sentence I never thought I’d say, but they were, like, the majority of the playlist.”
Deuce furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Heath, “Nirvana of all bands has multiple covers in Spanish?”
“Yuh, and me and the girl just danced to them and talked all night. What did we talk about?” Heath didn’t wait for Deuce to answer, “Great question”.
Deuce chuckled to himself as he finished a paragraph.
“I learned a lot about her, like, she’s from the Himalayas, and she actually knows some of the same people we do. She knows Cleo and Lagoona and even Clawdeen, isn’t that so interesting?” Deuce nodded absentmindedly. “She even asked me if I watched that human show, um…” Heath searched his brain for the title, “Friends! That’s it!”
“Oh, that show about the six friends in the coffee shop or whatever?” Deuce leaned back in his chair looking over his last couple of paragraphs.
“Yeah! I told her that Phoebe was probably my favorite character so far.”
“The blonde one?” Deuce asked.
“Mhm, and she actually agreed with me and we laughed and laughed.”
“How did you of all people, no offense, get a girl to talk to you and dance with you? For such a long period of time?” Deuce started a new paragraph and slightly laughed at the idea of Heath fumbling over his words trying to ask a girl to dance.
“Well actually, you jerk, she came up to me. I had just ordered some salsa for my chips, I had chips, I didn’t think it was important to mention, and she walked up to me. She asked if she could sit with me and try some of my food.”
“And you let her, because only you would share your food with an absolute stranger,” Deuce said, saying the last part under his breath.
“I heard that, and yes, I did. She sat down and asked me if the salsa was mild. I stupidly said that it was hotter than mild because I thought it would impress her but turns out she has problems with hot food. Deuce, I almost scared her away!”
Deuce couldn’t keep his laughs quiet anymore and let a loud guffaw leave his mouth, “See, this is why I didn’t believe that you were able to keep her interested enough to dance with you.”
“Rude, but I quickly took it back and said it was a joke. She stayed, thank gods, and then one of the Nirvana covers came on, she pulled me to the dance floor, I, of course, had to keep my fire under control, and the rest is the greatest love story to ever take place.”
“Sounds like an amazing night, Heath. What was her name?” Deuce finished up his final paragraph and hit save. Should he have proofread it? Sure, but he might as well give the end of Heath’s story his full attention.
“Yeah...about that, once the club got closer to closing time, she left pretty quickly, and I never…actually caught her name…”
Deuce stopped moving. He did not hear that right, he couldn't have, “You don't,” Deuce closed his eyes in preparation for disappointment, “know her name?”
“No, I do not,” Deuce could practically hear the sheepish look Heath had on his face as he spoke.
Deuce did a sharp inhale and pinched the bridge of his nose, “I mean this in the nicest way possible, dude, you're hopeless.”
“Yeah, I know. But what matters is that she seemed to be having fun and I know I had fun,” Heath got out of his chair and started to change into his pajamas. “That’s a win in my book.”
“A win is a win,” Deuce reluctantly said.
Heath finished getting dressed and sprawled out on his bed, “I wonder if she’s thinking about me right now.”
“Maybe, Heath, maybe.”
On the other side of the school was a blue-skinned girl and her friends gathered in a circle. Giggles left the friends’ mouths as the girl spoke.
“He assured me that the salsa wasn’t actually that hot and so I tried it, it was really good, and we just hit it off right away,” it was hard for Abbey to keep her excitement in check as she recounted the story of the boy she had met that night.
“And then what happened?” Lagoona chirped.
“Then the music changed and I dragged him to the dance floor,” Abbey took a second to chuckle to herself, “He was such a bad dancer,” another chuckle fell from her lips.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” Ghoulia reached a hand to Abbey’s knee in comfort.
“No, no, it was endearing. I loved how bad he was at dancing because he knew he was bad but he was so confident about it. It made me laugh.”
Ghoulia hummed and took her hand away.
“Ya know, orange skin, red hair, I think I know the guy you’re talking about,” Cleo, who had been trying to act like she didn’t think Abbey’s story was absolutely adorable, finally chimed in to the conversation, “What was his name again?”
“Oh, I never actually asked for it. I didn’t tell him mine either. Guess that wasn’t my smartest move,” Abbey said, giggling to herself.
“You utter fool,” Cleo reprimanded her but couldn’t stay mad at her very happy friend.
“Yeah, I know. But I had so much fun, guys, and I think he did too. I swear I saw his hair become fire for a second when we were dancing.”
Cleo definitely knew who the guy was by now but she held her words. Why ruin the moment by letting everyone know that Abbey was dancing with Cleo’s ex’s best friend? Besides, it was bound to be funny when the two would inevitably run into each other when classes started in a couple days.

The Top 5 Mosaic Floor Tile Colors for a Coastal Look
Tumblr media
Creating a coastal ambiance in your home can transport you to a serene beachside retreat, even if you're miles away from the shore. One of the most effective ways to achieve this look is through the strategic use of mosaic floor tiles. These versatile design elements can instantly infuse your space with the colors and textures reminiscent of sandy beaches, rolling waves, and sun-bleached driftwood.
In this article, we'll explore the top 5 mosaic floor tile colors that can help you achieve that perfect coastal aesthetic.
Why Choose Mosaic Floor Tiles for a Coastal Look?
Before diving into the colors, it's important to understand why mosaic floor tiles are an excellent choice for creating a coastal atmosphere. Mosaic floor tiles offer several advantages:
Versatility in design and pattern creation
Ability to mimic natural textures like sand and water
Durability in high-traffic areas
Easy maintenance and cleaning
Wide range of color options to suit any coastal palette
Whether you're renovating your bathroom, kitchen, or entryway, mosaic floor tiles can provide the perfect foundation for your coastal-inspired space.
The Top 5 Mosaic Floor Tile Colors for a Coastal Look
1. Sandy Beige
Sandy beige mosaic floor tiles are the cornerstone of any coastal-inspired design. These warm, neutral tones evoke the feeling of soft sand beneath your feet, instantly connecting your space to the beach.
Design Tip: Pair sandy beige mosaic floor tiles with white walls and natural wood accents for a classic coastal look. Add pops of blue in your decor to complete the beachy vibe.
2. Ocean Blue
No coastal palette is complete without shades of blue. Ocean blue mosaic floor tiles can range from deep navy to lighter aquamarine hues, mimicking the varied colors of the sea.
Design Tip: Use ocean blue mosaic floor tiles in bathrooms or as a statement floor in entryways. Complement with white fixtures and sandy-colored accents for a balanced coastal feel.
3. Seafoam Green
Seafoam green mosaic floor tiles offer a softer, more subtle nod to coastal colors. This soothing hue is reminiscent of sea glass and can create a calming atmosphere in any room.
Design Tip: Seafoam green mosaic floor tiles work beautifully in kitchens or sunrooms. Pair with crisp white cabinetry and brushed nickel hardware for a fresh, coastal-inspired look.
4. Weathered Gray
Weathered gray mosaic floor tiles capture the essence of driftwood and weathered coastal structures. This versatile color adds depth and character to your coastal design.
Design Tip: Use weathered gray mosaic floor tiles as a neutral base in living areas or bedrooms. Accent with white, blue, and natural textures to create a layered, coastal-inspired space.
5. Coral Pink
For a bolder take on coastal design, consider coral pink mosaic floor tiles. This vibrant hue adds warmth and energy, reminiscent of tropical coastal destinations.
Design Tip: Use coral pink mosaic floor tiles sparingly, perhaps in a powder room or as an accent border. Balance with neutral tones to prevent overwhelming the space.
Choosing the Right Mosaic Floor Tiles for Your Coastal Design
When selecting mosaic floor tiles for your coastal-inspired space, consider the following factors:
Room Function: Choose tiles that are appropriate for the room's use. For example, bathroom mosaic floor tiles should be slip-resistant.
Lighting: Natural light can affect how colors appear. Test your chosen mosaic floor tiles in the space before committing.
Existing Decor: Ensure your chosen tile color complements your existing furniture and decor.
Maintenance: Some colors may show dirt or wear more easily than others. Consider the practicality of your choice.
Pattern: The pattern of your mosaic floor tiles can enhance the coastal feel. Consider wave-like patterns or fish scale designs for added coastal charm.
Where to Find Quality Mosaic Floor Tiles
For those in Singapore looking to bring a coastal look to their homes, visiting a reputable tile shop in Singapore is a great place to start. Many ceramic tile shops offer a wide range of mosaic floor tiles suitable for creating a coastal aesthetic.
When visiting a tile shop in Singapore, don't hesitate to ask for samples of your chosen mosaic floor tiles. This allows you to see how the colors and patterns look in your space before making a final decision.
Conclusion
Incorporating mosaic floor tiles in coastal-inspired colors is an excellent way to bring the relaxed, breezy feel of the beach into your home. Whether you opt for the classic sandy beige, the soothing ocean blue, or a bold coral pink, mosaic floor tiles offer endless possibilities for creating your perfect coastal retreat.
Remember, the key to a successful coastal design lies in balancing colors, textures, and patterns. By carefully selecting your mosaic floor tiles and complementing them with appropriate decor, you can create a space that feels like a permanent vacation.
So why wait? Visit your local ceramic tile shop or tile shop in Singapore today and start exploring the beautiful world of coastal-inspired mosaic floor tiles. Your dream beach house aesthetic is just a tile choice away!

Side table Home decor ideas
The side table might seem trivial, but it is a mighty piece of furniture that can (literally) transform your space. Like seriously, who doesn’t wanna go off-beat with bright and brilliant decor pieces that impact the style of the home? Yep, everyone does.
Tumblr media
And if you do, too, an accent side table is what you’re missing out on! There are several ways to style a side table, from sleek sculptures to scented candles and elegant vases filled with fresh flowers. Whatever your taste is, eclectic bohemian or minimalist modern, there’s no shortage of inspiration to enhance the ambience of your home with a side table decor.

But do you like cameras flashing every time someone enters your home? If you don’t, this blog ain’t for you ‘cause the side table decor schemes we will discuss will create a visual interest so solid that your visitors (can’t stop) won’t stop taking pictures of it. So, without further ado, let’s start with the first side table decor idea!
1.  Simplify with a minimalist style
Add a shimmer of shine to your space with a minimalist side table. We kid you not; simplifying with a minimalist side table can be a holy grail for your home decor. A single statement piece as the centrepiece – decorated with a succulent plant, beautiful flowers, or refined sculptures, can create a lasting impression. However, we suggest you keep the colour scheme neutral and avoid cluttering the table with unnecessary items. Also, your resistance game’s gotta be strong. Resist the urge to over-decorate when going minimal because like they say – less is always more with minimalist decor!
Use negative space to create visual interest
Tumblr media
If you’re a sucker for the whole “business in the front, chill in the back” vibe, use negative space to create visual interest. Like c’mon, do you want a cluttered table with too many objects lying around, making people wonder if this is a part of home decor or a lazy lifestyle? No, right – so, choose items that draw attention and leave large portions of the side table empty.

Design it with a simple sculpture or vase to make the minimalist side table a statement piece. When you allow plenty of room to breathe for your furniture (and yourself), you can formulate an asymmetrical, functional, and aesthetically pleasing balance. So, my dearest – embrace negative space to enhance your side table from practical decor to fine art!
Utilize functional décors like coasters and lamps
Tumblr media
Want a home decoration that instantly raises the spirits and makes you feel outdoors? If yes, take the so-called functional side table as an opportunity to add identity and quality to your home decor. Because let’s face it, side tables ain’t just for function but aesthetics. Adding coasters is a great way to augment the side table decor while protecting it from water rings. Consider adding aesthetic lamps for a pop of colour or pattern. Choose contemporary, minimalist, or boho chic coasters and lamps that complement the decor. And there you have it – by utilizing functional items like coasters and lamps, you can formulate a functional yet minimalist decor, the very representative of tropical destinations!
Incorporate natural elements like plants and stones
Tumblr media
Think of beachy-tropical exotic places – you know, like Bali, Hawaii, or the jungles of the Caribbean. What is it that occurs to that beautiful head of yours? That’s right, natural elements – cool breeze, lush foliage, sand and stones, and more. If you want that dramatic feel in your interiors, adorn your side table with a beautiful selection of natural elements such as plants and stones.

A small succulent plant in a ceramic pot or polished stones can help bring a touch of the outdoors into your living room. Combining colours and textures can create a peaceful oasis, inviting visitors to slow down and appreciate nature.
2. Add a pop of colour
Tumblr media
Conjure the beauty of faraway locales without venturing out the door by adding a pop of colour to your side table decor scheme. For an unexpected twist that cudgels the brain to fall in love, incorporate a splurge of colour on the side table or the wall above. For instance, a small vase filled with bright yellow flowers or planters with pink peonies adds a cheerful touch. Or if you are the I-am-miss-sophisticated, opt for deep purple irises or succulents in vibrant hues. Also, consider hanging colourful wall art above your side table.
Use a bold-coloured lamp or decorative accessory
All-gorgeous home decor doesn’t take much – just a few decorative accessories and the ultimate game-changer, a bold-coloured lamp. Whether you prefer a funky ceramic accent piece or a dark red table lamp, using a unique element can create an exciting display. Don’t shy away from mixing and matching colours – however, keep it minimal and cohesive. For instance, a polished table lamp with a radiant blue shade next to a rustic vase filled with fresh flowers can formulate an attractive combination.
Incorporate colourful artwork or books
Tumblr media
Incorporate colourful artwork or books into your side table decor for an inescapable modern island vibe that will keep every moment of your living room relaxed and you utterly chilled out. Adorn your side table with rich artwork and books to create a lively atmosphere.

Indian-culture-inspired wall art in bold hues of red and blue against a stack of vintage hardcovers with faded spines can furnish an inviting space for relaxation and inspiration. Or a delicate porcelain vase with a bouquet of freshly picked wildflowers against muted tones can uplift the artful arrangement even better!
Add a colourful vase with fresh flowers
Classic and timeless, adding a colourful vase with fresh foliage or flowers can (literally) bring life to your space. The delicate petals dancing gently in the breeze and their sweet fragrance filling the room create a soft and intimate vibe, breaking up the monotony and instilling peace (and, might I say, romance?) Besides, incorporating a vase with sophisticated patterns and bright hues immediately draws attention to the stunning display, radiating joy and positivity!
3. Mix and match textures
A trendy look is about mixing different elements and creating something exceptionally excellent! Adorn your side table with a combination of unique and visually appealing textures. Bring smooth finishes like metal or polished wood and natural elements like stones or bricks to create an interesting contrast. Consider adding an exciting touch of softness by including wool or linen fabric. Besides, experiment with colours and mixed materials to furnish depth and dimension. Be creative – the possibilities are endless!
Experiment with different materials like wood, metal, and glass
Tumblr media
Differentiating metal, wood, and glass accents can bestow texture and dimension to the side table decor. Consider adding a bold statement piece such as a metal sculpture or hanging wooden elements with metal detailing. A sleek glass vase with fresh flowers mounted on a wooden panel will complete the existing furniture and instantly bring a new splurge of energy.

Play around with different textures and materials – however, maintain a balance. And voilà, here we go with your island-inspired greens and tropical-oasis wooden accents complementing the side table decor!
Use textured fabrics for tablecloths or coasters
Tumblr media
Textured fabrics create all the difference in the decor. Not only do they make the space feel cosy and comfortable, but they also add depth and dimension. The colourful contrast contributes to the playful yet formal spirit of the room.

So, instead of choosing plain, flat fabrics for tablecloths and coasters, add a touch of texture. Use a roll of woven jute, soft chenille, or nubby linen to create a tactile experience for anyone touching them. So, when decorating your side table, DO NOT forget the power of texture!
Incorporate woven baskets or textured ceramics
Tumblr media
If you wanna feel less lonely, incorporate textured ceramics or woven baskets to add a rustic charm to the side table decor. Why, simply because – the basket’s natural, earthy tones complement the table’s warm wood tones, and the textured ceramics bestow an intriguing contrast, which is to live for! Whether used as an accent piece or a storage solution, these will add warmth and comfort to your space!
4. Incorporate personal touches
There are tons of theories applied in planning and designing home decor, but what better than to incorporate personal touches? A side table is perfect for showcasing your true personality and adding personal touches. Whether you have a minimalist or maximalist style, there are many ways to style your side table. Here’s how you can do it:
Display sentimental items like family photos or mementoes
We love anything that evokes a sense of emotion, and so a side table accented with sentimental items that hold meaning to you can help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Displaying cherished trinkets, family pictures, and souvenirs from special events can assert a story about who you are and what matters to you. Whether it’s a memento from your travels, a framed photograph of a loved one, or a childhood toy, placing these items on a side table can be fun for you and your guests. So next time when you wanna spruce up your home decor, add a sentimental flair to your side table!
Showcase a favourite hobby or interest
Are you an avid reader and have a well-curated book collection? What better way to display your favourite interest than on a fancy side table? By showcasing books, paintings, or other forms of literature, you can add personality and sophistication through a thoughtful layout and fun motifs. The key to creating the perfect side table is all about blending the niceties to establish a naturally-freshened and energetic space while keeping the vibe cool and classy. Top it off with an aesthetic lamp or a small sculpture to showcase your literary passions.
Incorporate personal items like jewellery or heirlooms
If you don’t wanna play with bold hues and tons of patterns but appreciate personal aspects and tasteful colour pops, display meaningful heirlooms or jewellery. A burst of historical or vintage accents can add a refreshing look for you to wake up to. For instance, a cherished trinket, a vintage brooch, or a family photo displayed on a small stand can be an authentic injection, adding warmth to the space. Mix in some candles, fresh tulips, or books to balance the potentially overwhelming display of personal items!
5. Embrace Symmetry
When discussing side table decor ideas, symmetry is a powerful tool, ladies! A simple and effective way to embrace symmetry is by placing matching accent pieces, allowing a Scandinavian and sophisticated vibe. For instance, placing two identical side tables on either side of a large piece of furniture or matching items on either side of the table. The key is to create balance and harmony that elevates your side table decor game!
Use pairs of items to create balance
Create an attraction that attracts eyes with perfect balance and symmetry. Use pairs of items, such as two identical lamps or potted plants, to add dramatic interest. To make the arrangement more welcoming, add similar textures, shapes, and colours to tie everything together.
Arrange items symmetrically on the table
If you wanna create a masterpiece, adorn your side table with a symmetrical arrangement of items. Place stacked books beautifully aligned or a vase of fresh flowers flanked by two matching candles on either side. You may also install a little library cart to highlight stylish storage.
Use matching frames or décor items
Matching frames or decor items are all the CRAZE right now! If you want to create exquisite, expensive-looking side table decor, adorn it with matching frames or decor items with cherished memories. You see, it all comes down to creating a functional space that’s attractive at its best. Choose matching portraits or accent pieces for your side table to achieve a cohesive and polished look.
Wrapping up
Creating luxe-looking home decor seems daunting, yes – but with just the right accent pieces, furniture items, and decor ideas, you can create glamorous home designs and surprise yourself! To furnish a functional and fashionable space, you don’t need to plough all your money into buying exemplary decor equipment – a few statement pieces will suffice, just like a side table. It’s characterized by its use of natural materials, soft colors, and a relaxed aesthetic that brings the soothing ambiance of the beach into your home. Coastal buckets and bins are perfect for adding both style and functionality to your space, whether you're organizing beach gear, storing household items, or simply adding a nautical touch to your decor. In this handmade article, we’ll explore how to craft your own coastal-themed buckets and bins using easy-to-find materials and creative techniques.
1. Why Coastal Buckets & Bins?
Coastal buckets and bins combine practicality with a charming seaside vibe. Here’s why they’re a great addition to your home:
- Functionality: Ideal for organizing various items such as toys, towels, or pantry goods.
- Aesthetic Appeal: They bring a relaxed, beachy feel to any room or outdoor space.
- Customization: Handmade options allow you to personalize designs and colors to fit your decor.
2. Materials Needed
To create coastal-inspired buckets and bins, gather the following materials:
- Buckets or bins (plastic, metal, or fabric)
- Coastal-themed fabrics (such as stripes, anchors, or nautical prints)
- Jute or rope
- Hot glue gun or fabric glue
- Scissors
- Paint (optional for metal or plastic buckets)
- Decorative elements (shells, driftwood, sea glass, etc.)
3. DIY Coastal Bucket & Bin Instructions
 A. Coastal Fabric Bucket
Materials:
- Fabric bucket or plain bucket
- Coastal-themed fabric
- Fabric glue
- Scissors
- Decorative elements (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Bucket: Clean the bucket to remove any dust or residue. If using a plain bucket, consider painting it with a base coat that complements your coastal fabric.
2. Cut the Fabric: Measure the fabric to cover the outside of the bucket. Cut the fabric so it wraps around the bucket with a bit of overlap.
3. Attach the Fabric: Apply fabric glue to the bucket, starting from the bottom and working your way up. Press the fabric onto the bucket, smoothing out any wrinkles. Allow the glue to dry completely.
4. Add Decorative Touches: Glue on additional decorative elements like seashells, driftwood, or nautical-themed patches to enhance the coastal look.
5. Finish Up: Trim any excess fabric and ensure all edges are securely glued.
 B. Jute-Wrapped Bin
Materials:
- Plastic or metal bin
- Jute rope
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Bin: Clean the bin and, if desired, paint it with a color that complements the jute rope.
2. Wrap the Bin: Starting at the bottom of the bin, apply a small amount of hot glue and begin wrapping the jute rope around the bin. Continue wrapping, securing with glue every few inches to keep the rope in place.
3. Secure the Ends: Once you reach the top of the bin, trim the rope and glue down the end securely.
4. Add Finishing Touches: For an extra coastal touch, you can glue on small decorative items like starfish or driftwood to the jute-wrapped bin.
 C. Painted Metal Bucket with Coastal Stencils
Materials:
- Metal bucket
- Coastal-themed stencil (e.g., anchors, seashells)
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Masking tape
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Bucket: Clean the metal bucket thoroughly. Apply a base coat of acrylic paint if desired, and let it dry.
2. Apply Stencil: Position the coastal stencil on the bucket. Secure it with masking tape to avoid shifting.
3. Paint the Design: Use a small paintbrush to apply paint over the stencil. Be careful not to overload the brush to avoid bleeding.
4. Remove Stencil: Carefully remove the stencil while the paint is still wet to reveal the design.
5. Seal the Paint: Once the paint is dry, apply a clear sealer to protect your design and ensure durability.
 D. Driftwood Basket
Materials:
- Basket base (wicker or fabric)
- Driftwood pieces
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Basket: Clean the basket base and, if needed, paint it with a color that complements the driftwood.
2. Attach Driftwood: Begin gluing driftwood pieces around the basket. Arrange the pieces in a pattern or randomly for a natural look. Secure with hot glue.
3. Fill and Use: Once the glue is dry, fill the basket with your desired items. The driftwood adds an authentic coastal touch to your storage solution.
4. Tips for Crafting Coastal Buckets & Bins
- Choose Durable Materials: Ensure that the materials used are suitable for the intended use, especially if the bins will be exposed to moisture.
- Mix and Match: Combine different coastal themes (e.g., stripes with anchors) for a more dynamic look.
- Protect Your Work: For items exposed to the elements, use waterproof sealers or liners to extend their lifespan.
- Personalize: Add personal touches that reflect your coastal experiences, like pieces of sea glass collected during vacations.
5. Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Fabric Wrinkles: Smooth out fabric wrinkles by using an iron on a low setting or by applying additional glue to secure the fabric.
- Jute Unraveling: Prevent unraveling by securing the ends of the jute rope with extra glue and trimming any loose strands.
- Paint Bleeding: Use painter’s tape to mask off areas around the stencil to prevent paint from bleeding onto unwanted areas.
Conclusion
Crafting your own coastal buckets and bins is a delightful way to bring a touch of the seaside into your home. With these DIY projects, you can create beautiful and functional storage solutions that reflect your personal style and love for coastal living. Whether you opt for a fabric-covered bucket, a jute-wrapped bin, a painted metal bucket, or a driftwood basket, each project offers a unique way to enhance your space with a relaxed, beach-inspired aesthetic. Custom Curtains for Different Home Styles: Integrating Design and Function
Tumblr media
Custom curtains play a crucial role in defining the character of a room and ensuring that it meets both aesthetic and functional needs. Different home styles call for specific approaches to curtain design, blending seamlessly with the overall décor while serving practical purposes. Here’s how to choose and style custom curtains to match various home styles, ensuring harmony between design and function.
Traditional Homes: Classic Elegance and Function
In traditional homes, custom drapes should reflect the timeless elegance and craftsmanship that characterize the style. Opt for rich, luxurious fabrics such as velvet, brocade, or silk that add a sense of opulence. Classic patterns like damask or floral can enhance the traditional look, while drapes with ornate details such as tassels or fringe add a touch of sophistication.
Layering for Flexibility: Use layered curtains to balance light control and privacy. Combine heavier drapes with sheer underlayers to offer flexibility in adjusting the ambiance throughout the day.
Use Traditional Hardware: Curtain rods with decorative finials or elaborate cornices complement the traditional style and add a finishing touch to the overall look.
Modern Homes: Sleek and Streamlined
Modern homes are defined by clean lines, minimalism, and functionality. Custom curtains in these spaces should align with the sleek, uncluttered aesthetic of modern design. Choose fabrics like linen, cotton blends, or minimalistic sheers that provide a clean, airy look.
Focus on Simple Designs: Opt for custom drapes curtains with minimal patterns or solid colors to maintain a streamlined appearance. Grommet or hidden track systems can enhance the modern look by keeping hardware out of sight.
Use Neutral Colors: Light, neutral shades help maintain the openness and brightness typical of modern interiors. Consider fabrics in white, gray, or beige for a cohesive look.
Coastal Homes: Light and Breezy
Coastal homes are all about creating a relaxed, airy atmosphere that mirrors the beachy surroundings. Custom window treatment in coastal settings should enhance this laid-back vibe while offering practical benefits.
Choose Light, Breezy Fabrics: Fabrics like sheer linen, cotton, or chambray work well, allowing natural light to filter through and creating a fresh, breezy feel.
Incorporate Nautical Elements: Subtle nautical themes or beach-inspired patterns can enhance the coastal charm. Light blues, whites, and sandy tones help evoke the feeling of being by the sea.
Farmhouse Style: Cozy and Inviting
Farmhouse style emphasizes comfort and rustic charm. Custom curtains for farmhouse homes should complement the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the space.
Opt for Rustic Fabrics: Consider fabrics with a natural texture, like burlap or plaid, that add to the cozy, homey feel. Soft cottons or linens in earthy tones work well.
Include Country Details: Details like lace trims or tiebacks can add a touch of country charm without overwhelming the space. Curtain rods with a distressed finish or wooden accents can enhance the farmhouse look.
Industrial Homes: Bold and Functional
Industrial-style homes are characterized by their use of raw materials and a blend of modern and vintage elements. Custom curtains in these spaces should balance bold design with functionality.
Select Durable Fabrics: Opt for sturdy fabrics like heavy canvas or denim that can withstand the industrial aesthetic. Dark colors or metallic finishes can complement the industrial theme.
Use Exposed Hardware: Embrace industrial-style hardware, such as exposed metal rods or brackets, that adds to the raw, unrefined look of the space. This can enhance the overall rugged charm of the room.
Conclusion
Custom curtains are more than just window coverings — they are a critical element in achieving a cohesive and functional design for various home styles. By selecting fabrics, patterns, and features that align with each style’s unique characteristics, you can enhance the overall ambiance of your space. Whether complementing the classic elegance of a traditional home or the sleek minimalism of a modern design, custom drapes can elevate your home’s aesthetic and functionality, making every room feel perfectly tailored to your style.

Tumblr media
Outdoor kitchens have become a popular home addition, offering a perfect blend of functionality and leisure for those who love cooking and entertaining outside. Among the various elements that can enhance a kitchen, Kamado Joe kitchens stand out for their versatility and superior cooking performance. In this guide, we will explore the best outdoor kitchen designs that seamlessly incorporate ceramic grills, transforming your backyard into a culinary oasis.
1. The Classic Stone Kitchen
One of the most timeless and elegant designs is the classic stone kitchen. Utilising natural stone for countertops, islands, and even flooring, this design not only looks stunning but is also durable and weather-resistant. Integrating a Kamado Joe grill into this setup elevates the overall functionality. The ceramic grill, with its robust build and versatile cooking capabilities, fits perfectly within the stone structure, providing both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits. Adding built-in storage and a sink can complete this traditional yet sophisticated kitchen.
2. Modern minimalist design
For those who prefer a sleek, contemporary look, a modern minimalist design is an excellent choice. This design focuses on clean lines, neutral colours, and uncluttered spaces. Stainless steel is a common material used for countertops, cabinets, and appliances, giving the kitchen a polished and modern appearance. A Kamado Joe grill complements this design perfectly, as its bold, ceramic construction adds a touch of elegance without overwhelming the minimalist aesthetic. To enhance functionality, consider integrating a small refrigerator and modular seating that can be easily moved around.
3. Rustic Charm
Embrace the cosy and inviting atmosphere of a rustic outdoor kitchen. This design features natural materials like wood and stone, creating a warm and earthy ambiance. The ceramic kamado grill, with its classic look and exceptional cooking performance, fits seamlessly into a rustic setting. A wooden pergola overhead can provide shade and support for climbing plants, adding to the charm. Include a large, wooden dining table and comfortable seating to complete the look, making it a perfect space for family gatherings and outdoor dining.
4. Coastal Vibes
If you live near the coast or simply love the beach, a coastal-theme could be the ideal choice. This design often features light colours, open spaces, and marine-inspired decor. A Kamado Joe grill can be the centrepiece of this setup, offering versatility for grilling fresh seafood and other coastal delicacies. Use materials like whitewashed wood, blue accents, and nautical-themed accessories to enhance the coastal vibe. Adding a bar area with high stools and a few tropical plants can create a relaxing, beachy atmosphere.
5. Outdoor Entertainer’s Paradise
For those who love to entertain, a Kamado Joe outdoor kitchen designed for hosting large gatherings is essential. This design should include ample countertop space, multiple cooking areas, and plenty of seating. A ceramic kamado grill is perfect for this setup, as its ability to maintain consistent temperatures and cook a variety of dishes makes it ideal for feeding a crowd. Incorporate a pizza oven, a large dining table, and a built-in bar to make your kitchen the ultimate entertaining space. Consider adding outdoor lighting and a sound system to keep the party going long after the sun sets.
Tips for incorporating Kamado Joe Outdoor Kitchen
When designing your kitchen with a Kamado Joe, keep the following tips in mind:
1. Placement: Ensure the grill is placed in a location that is convenient for cooking and serving but also safe from potential fire hazards.
2. Ventilation: Proper ventilation is important  to get rid of smoke buildup. Consider installing a ventilation hood if your kitchen is partially enclosed.
3. Weather Protection: While Kamado grills are built to withstand the elements, it’s still a good idea to provide some protection, such as a pergola or weather-resistant cover.
4. Storage: Incorporate storage solutions for charcoal, cooking utensils, and other accessories to keep your Kamado Joe outdoor kitchen organised and functional.
