Love Beyond the Badge ❤️
Beau Arlen x y/n
No warnings needed just pure fluff! 🥰
Tumblr media
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with strokes of orange and purple as Beau Arlen leaned against the hood of his truck 'pedro', the metal cool under his arms. The day had been long, the kind that tested a man’s spirit, and it was in these quiet moments that his thoughts drifted to his deputy, Y/N.
He heard the crunch of gravel and turned to see Y/N approaching, her silhouette framed by the fading light. “Evening, Sheriff,” she greeted, her voice steady as ever.
“Evening, Deputy,” Beau replied, pushing off from the truck. He hesitated, a battle raging within. The dream he had the night before flashed in his mind, vivid and stirring. It was unprofessional, perhaps even foolish, but the truth clawed at him with an urgency he couldn’t ignore.
“Y/N, can we talk? Off the record?” he asked, his tone more serious than she was used to.
She nodded, curiosity lighting her eyes. “Of course, Beau. What’s on your mind?”
He took a deep breath, the words he’d rehearsed suddenly clumsy on his tongue. “I had a dream last night,” he started, “about you. It was… it was more real than any dream I’ve ever had. And when I woke up, I realized that it wasn’t just a dream. It was how I truly felt.”
Y/N’s eyes widened slightly, a mix of surprise and something else Beau couldn’t quite place. “Beau, I—”
“I know we have our duties, our responsibilities,” he continued, cutting across the space between them. “But I can’t shake this feeling. It’s not just respect or camaraderie. It’s more than that, and I think… I think you might feel it too.”
There was a pause, the world holding its breath. Then, softly, Y/N spoke. “I do. I’ve felt it for a while now, but I never thought—”
“That it could be mutual?” Beau finished for her, a small, hopeful smile tugging at his lips.
She nodded, stepping closer. “We have a lot to figure out, Beau. But yes, it’s mutual.”
The confession hung in the air, a fragile truth that promised to change everything. Beau reached out, his hand brushing against hers, an electric connection that felt like the first piece of a new beginning.
Flashback:
The air was crisp, carrying the scent of pine and the promise of winter. Beau Arlen had been the sheriff of Helena for just over a year now, a position he took with a mix of pride and solemnity. The town was small, but it had its troubles, and Beau was determined to be the steadfast hand that guided it.
It was on a day like any other that he first met Y/N. He was at the local diner, a steaming cup of coffee in hand, when the bell above the door jingled. In walked a young woman, her posture confident, her gaze scanning the room like she was taking in every detail.
Beau’s curiosity was piqued. He watched as she approached the counter, exchanged a few words with the owner, and then turned to survey the diner. Their eyes met, and Beau felt a jolt of recognition, though they had never met before.
“Can I help you, ma’am?” Beau called out, standing up.
She walked over, her hand extended. “I’m Y/N, the new deputy in town. I was told I could find Sheriff Arlen here.”
Beau took her hand, the firm handshake speaking volumes of her character. “That would be me,” he said with a smile. “Welcome to Helena.”
They sat down, and over cups of coffee, they talked about law, order, and the quiet life of a small town. Beau was impressed by her experience, her insight, and the way she seemed genuinely interested in making a difference.
“I’m looking forward to working with you, Sheriff,” Y/N said as they parted ways that day. “I think we’ll make a good team.”
Present day:
And they did. Over time, they became a unit, a duo that the town came to respect and rely on. But as they worked side by side, the seeds of something more began to take root, something that went beyond badges and duty.
After the day they acknowledged their mutual feelings, they decided to step beyond the boundaries of work and explore the possibility of a personal connection. Beau wanted to make their first date special.
The Montana sky was a canvas of stars as Beau picked up Y/N from her modest home on the outskirts of Helena. The air was filled with the scent of sagebrush and anticipation. Beau had chosen a quiet spot by the lake, away from the prying eyes of the town, where they could talk freely.
Y/N stepped out, her usual uniform replaced by a simple dress that fluttered in the evening breeze. Beau couldn’t help but notice the way it made her eyes shine brighter than any star above them.
“Ready for an adventure?” Beau asked, offering his arm.
Y/N smiled, taking his arm. “With you? Always.”
They drove in comfortable silence, the familiar hum of the engine a soothing backdrop to their thoughts. When they arrived, Beau led Y/N to a clearing where he had set up a picnic. A checkered blanket was spread out, and candles flickered in mason jars, casting a warm glow.
They sat down, and Beau handed her a plate filled with homemade sandwiches, apple pie from the local bakery, and a thermos of hot chocolate. They talked about everything and nothing, laughter mingling with the soft sounds of the night.
As the night deepened, Beau took a deep breath. “Y/N, I’ve been a sheriff for a long time. I thought I knew what it meant to protect and serve. But being with you, it’s like I’m seeing the world anew.”
Y/N reached across the blanket, her hand covering his. “Beau, I’ve always admired you, respected you. But this,” she gestured around them, “it feels like we’re discovering a new part of life, together.”
They leaned back, watching the stars, their hands entwined. The night was peaceful, a gentle reminder that sometimes the most significant moments come when you step out of your comfort zone and into the unknown.
2 year time skip:
The morning of the wedding dawned clear and bright, the sun casting a golden glow over the town of Helena. The ceremony was set in the open expanse of the countryside, where the mountains stood as silent witnesses to the union.
Y/N stood in front of a full-length mirror, her wedding dress a masterpiece of lace and love, tailored to echo the strength and grace she carried herself with. Her badge was pinned close to her heart, a symbol of her commitment to her town and her soon-to-be husband.
Beau, dressed in a suit, waited at the altar, his heart full. The guests were a mix of townsfolk, family, and friends from near and far, all gathered to celebrate the love that had blossomed in the most unexpected of places.
As Y/N walked down the aisle, the world seemed to stand still. Beau’s eyes locked onto hers, and in that moment, they knew that every challenge, every shared glance, and every quiet support had led them here.
The ceremony was heartfelt, with vows that were more than just words. They were promises etched into their very beings, pledges of partnership in life and in the pursuit of justice.
“I, Y/N, take you, Beau, to be my partner in life, to stand by your side, to share in your laughter and your silence, to always seek the truth with you, and to uphold the law of love above all else,” Y/N vowed, her voice unwavering.
“And I, Beau, take you, Y/N, to be my partner in life, to honor our badge and our bond, to face each day with you with courage and compassion, and to always keep our love as my guiding light,” Beau promised, his words a solemn oath.
The exchange of rings was not just a formality but a sealing of their fates, intertwined and unbreakable. And when they were pronounced husband and wife, the applause that rose was not just for the union of two souls but for the hope and strength they represented.
The reception was a lively affair, with dancing, laughter, and stories shared under the starlit sky. The couple’s first dance was to a song that spoke of enduring love, their steps a dance of unity and mutual respect.
As the night drew to a close, Beau and Y/N stood together, looking out at the faces of the people they protected, served, and loved. They knew that their journey was just beginning, but they were ready to face it together, as partners in every sense of the word. "I love you Sheriff Beau Arlen", "and I love you Deputy Y/N Arlen".
Awww don't you just love Beau 🥹🥰 hope you enjoyed this as much as I loved writing it ❤️

You just…you couldn’t stop laughing.
“All right, you done?” Beau asked.
You never thought you’d see this man blush so thoroughly. It made you laugh harder, though you tried to stifle it with your hands covering your face.
He had you laid out beside him, still skin against naked skin as the cool air began to dry your dewy bodies.
You were lying against him in an odd position, considering your bed now had a deep crack in the bedframe that ran all the way down the middle. It meant your legs were bent at an angle, almost like you were laying in a recliner seat.
You just couldn’t believe it.
This man had really broken your bed.
In fact, he murdered it. Killed it dead. Though you supposed it was a crime of passion, in this case. (You held in a snort at the thought.)
There were even a couple of screws that had rolled across the tile floor.
“Again, I’m sorry, sweetheart. I promise I’ll pay for a new frame,” Beau said contritely.
The truth was, he was embarrassed beyond belief.
Another giggle escaped you, though you tried to soothe him by caressing his cheek.
“Baby, it’s okay. This thing was old. I’m surprised it survived the move all the way from Chicago, honestly,” you said. The twinkle of mischief in your eyes made his face warm further.
“But how damn lucky am I,” you added, your lips curving. “My man quite literally shatters expectations when he makes love to me.”
And despite the unexpected cracking sound that had left you wide-eyed, it had been a spectacular finish. Even now, you were still tingling between your legs from how hard you’d come on his cock. (Twice.)
You slipped your bare leg between both of his and pressed a sweet kiss to his chest.
Beau fought it, but he had to smile at your words, and your affection. He sunk a hand into your tangled hair, first brushing his thumb against your cheek.
“You sure you’re okay then?” he asked.
“I’m more than okay,” you said. He felt the shape of your smile against his skin. You pulled back to meet his eyes. “Better the bed than my back, anyway. Jesus.”
Beau let out a sigh. Another giggle bubbled over and escaped you. You rubbed his arm.
“Think of it this way,” you said. “Now we can go pick out a new bed together.”
Beau tilted his head at that, and he nodded. A smile grew across his face.
“Now there’s an idea,” he said. It was probably too soon for him to broach the topic of moving in with you, but this could be a good first step.
“Right?” you replied in excitement. But there was something else dancing in your eyes. “We’ll just have to make sure the frame’s reinforced with titanium or something, because goddamn.”
Beau couldn’t help but laugh. He dropped his forehead against your shoulder while his own shook. You held him to you and didn’t bother to try and hide your own amusement anymore.
One thing you knew for sure?
There was no way in hell you’d ever let him live this down.
And one thing he would never tell you…
Beau Arlen was damn proud of himself.

The moment they stepped inside, Ben was already pulling Lizzie to him, big hands possessive as they grabbed her waist, and she gasped in surprise before Beau scooped her up in his arms and threw her over his shoulder.
"Hey!" his brother protested.
"Talking, Ben," he walked to the couch. "That's what we are doing."
She couldn't even protest as he carried her away, leaving him huffing.
"I got blue balls now, you know?" he asked. "It's very serious."
"Good thing both your hands function," Dean quipped. "And you can use them."
Beau carried Lizzie to the living room, and brought her down to the same stupid couch where everything happened, placing her on his lap.
"Shouldn't I get dressed?" she asked, fidgeting in the big hoodie and little shorts she'd managed to put on.
But he placed his hand around her waist and kissed her shoulder.
"It's fine," he assured her. "We just want to talk, okay?"
The other two sat down, and she could see Ben pouting as they fell into silence, and she couldn't quite pick who she was even looking at.
"Well..." Dean spoke slowly. "Hm."
Beau rubbed her thigh gently.
"You should know," he spoke gently. "That if you don't want anything with us. That if you ever feel like this isn't a relationship you want to get into, you don't have to do so."
"We don't expect sex as rent, that's what he means," Ben crossed his arms. "Those are different things."
She nodded. Lizzie knew that already! They were good people, good men!
They would never, ever, force her into anything. She was the problem!
"I know," she assured them. "I just... I need you to know you guys don't need to do anything! You don't need to pretend for me!"
Beau squeezed her.
"Pretend?" he asked.
She looked back at him.
"You're brothers," Lizzie reminded them. "And I don't want to stand between you, I don't want you to think you have to pretend you are alright with anything I do, because I'm a guest in your house and one of your brothers might like me!"
She turned to face Ben and Dean.
"The way I feel..." she took in a deep breath. "I wish I could say one of you makes me feel this way, but it is not true. All of you do, and I know it is so wrong and-"
"Bullshit," Ben interrupted her.
Lizzie deflated and Beau stiffened behind her, his grip turning protective.
"I know, it's hard to understand," she told him. "But my feelings..."
"Not your feelings," he stopped. "Your feelings make sense. Them being wrong? That's bullshit."
He leaned closer to her, green eyes hard and so certain it made her shiver.
"I want to be with you, Dean wants to be with you, Beau wants to be with you," he listed. "You want to be with us. Everyone is an adult, everyone is sober, everyone is mentally... not too bad."
Dean chuckled by his side.
"What is stopping us?" Ben asked.
Lizzie looked an answer, but gasped when he stood, grabbed her face and kissed her.
She got wet right there and then.
Well, it wasn't like she wasn't already from being fucking in the kitchen, but being kissed by him while on Beau's lap and with Dean watching?
Yes, it was something extra.
"I thought we were here to talk," Dean spoke very loudly.
"We are," Beau growled behind her. "Do you think of anything but sex?"
But someone tugged on her shirt, pulling it up, and she gasped when Ben moved up to her tits, caressing her nipples with rough thumbs.
"Can you, when she looks so pretty when she is turned on?" he pulled back, speaking against her hips.
Beau moved under her, as if to move her away, and she stood up, pressing her chest to Ben's hands.
"Lizzie," he called behind her.
Ben pinched her nipple, tugging on it, and she moaned.
"Please," she whined.
She hadn't even cum!
"You wanna be all high and mighty, then check for yourself," Ben commanded. "Pull those little shorts, check if she's enjoying it."
But she pulled away from him, and Ben and Beau followed her with their eyes and she stood before them, and Lizzie tried her best to look sexy as she moved her hands to her shirts and pushed them down, stripping for them.
Could she make a little show with two pieces? She could try.
The three watched her silently, and she took in a deep breath before pulling off the big sweatshirt, and Dean inhaled when she revealed her ass.
Oh, he was still behind her, wasn't he?
Lizzie pulled it up and up, until her tits were out too, and tried to look elegant as she threw it from over her head.
She looked back at Dean, finding him licking his lips, and Ben chuckled.
"This is better than any strip show," he joked. "If only I had some ones..."
"Shut up, she's not a stripper," Beau gruffed.
She looked back at them, and they were all seated, watching.
Waiting for who would take the first step, maybe?
She was about to pick for them when she felt Dean's hand behind her, squeezing her ass and pulling her.
"Let me have my own share," he whispered into her ear.
Lizzie giggled, touching his face and turning around, kissing his lips and touching his chest.
"If you are going to hoard her, at least let us see," Ben complained.
Dean, though, pulled her to his lap, making her straddle him, and pulled Lizzie up to kiss her neck.
"You can watch her bubble ass as she bounces on my cock," he grabbed her hips.
She gasped when he moved his lips to her sensitive nipple, biting sweetly and sucking on it.
"Dean," she gasped.
His hand spread her legs, and she tried to arch her ass to the other boys.
She could hear the moment they saw her pussy, the way they inhaled in deep.
Lizzie's attention was taken back when Dean pushed his fingers into her cunt, and almost didn't hear as someone walked away.
Was everything alr-
"Fuck, you're still a little loose from Ben fucking you," he hissed. "Taking cock so well, baby... you didn't even wait for us to join you."
She whined, feeling her face hot.
Not like she knew they wanted to join.
"Did he make you feel good, baby?" he licked her other breast. "Did my dumb brother make you cum?"
She squirmed.
"Well..." Lizzie mumbled.
Dean stopped.
"What is it?" Beau asked, and she could hear him moving.
Dean pushed his fingers into her hair, making her fall with her head on his chest, and fucked her slowly with his fingers.
"He didn't make her cum!" he exclaimed, outraged.
Beau pinched her nipples.
"That won't do," he decided. "Not even getting fucked made her cream?"
She squirmed, basking in the mix of being paid such attention to, but being spoken over as if she wasn't even there.
Beau pulled her, making her stand up, and Lizzie gasped when Dean turned her around quickly.
"I guess we do need to do all the work here, hm?" Beau hummed, kissing her lips.
Lizzie melted into his arms and his sweet, sweet kiss, already, and just let him manhandle her back into Dean's lap, this time facing away from him.
She barely processed when the head of Dean's cock poked her entrance, and mewled when she felt the tip entering her.
"We're going to make you cum, pretty girl," he pulled out, rubbing his head on her clit before moving back and then pushing into her again.
Beau pulled his hand, and she whimpered when he rested his forehead on hers and reached between her legs, caressing her clit with his fingers.
Lizzie moaned loudly as his brother pushed in, filling her up quickly.
"Such a good girl," he praised, finger circling her clit a little tighter. "She swallows up cock so good."
She moaned, throwing her head back, and didn't have time to whine when Beau pulled away from her.
He knelt between her legs and when she looked down at him, the image was the most erotic thing she could have seen.
"Uncle Beau?" she asked softly.
His eyes connected with hers, and he leaned in close to her, sticking out his tongue and licking her clit like a little kitten.
"Just relax, baby girl," Dean put his hand on her waist, sitting her all the way down his thick cock. "Let us make you feel good."
He moved his hips under her, thrusts slow and deep, but Uncle Beau had his own pace.
His lips and his tongue were hungry on her clit, never leaving it, never stopping sucking and licking and playing with her, fast and hungry.
As if she could move at all between them as they did that.
Lizzie was so overstimulated, so overpleasured, she could only fucking take it.
"Fucking hell," Ben growled.
She looked opened her eyes, and he was standing a few steps away from them, watching them.
Dean held her down by her middle, and Beau squeezed her thighs.
Lizzie could only cry.
It was too fucking much.
"You couldn't make her cum," he spoke behind her. "We took over."
Ben huffed.
"I could!" he argued. "But you guys had to barge in before I even tried!"
Beau sucked on her clit harder, and her eyes nearly crossed.
Almost right after, Dean's cock brushed against her sweetest spot, and Lizzie cried out loud.
"Show him how pretty you can cum, sweetheart," he kissed her cheek.
"Fuck!"
Lizzie arched her hips, and gasped when he wrapped his hand around her neck, holding her in place.
She moaned in pleasure, that exact move making her cum.
When she opened her eyes, Ben had his phone up.
"Smile for the came, sweet girl," he walked closer to them.
Dean grabbed her thighs, fucking her deeper as Beau fucking devoured her.
God, she almost came again just like that.
"Please," she whined.
Dean squeezed her neck a little more.
"Cum again, pretty girl," he commanded. "Cum on my cock before I fill you up."
She did, shaking on top of him, and Beau only pulled away from between her legs when she was done.
He kissed her lips with deep hunger, holding her by her hair as Dean fucked her fast and hard on the chair, using her.
Dean moaned under her, and she could feel the moment he filled her up.
It was so warm and tick, so filling.
She couldn't even enjoy the feeling, though, as Beau quickly pulled her up.
He pulled her, taking her right to the couch, and Lizzie gasped when he tossed her with her belly down, pulling her hips up and nudging her entrance with his cock.
"You want me to fuck you now, pretty girl?" he purred.
"Oh, come on!" Ben walked to you, his phone not in his hand anymore. "You've already fucked her!"
Beau moved his cock, rubbing her sensitive clit, and she gasped as he did.
"So what?"
She was so fucking sensitive.
"Beau," she whined.
"I won't fuck a loose pussy after you are done," Ben protested. "You two have fucked her already and when it was my turn you two just stopped it."
Beau dipped the tip into her, as if he didn't even care, and she whined.
Suddenly, he was taken away, and she opened her eyes to find Ben stumbling back from pushing Beau away, until his brother put him in a headlock.
Fuck, she shouldn't find that hot.
And yet her pussy fluttered, empty.
Needy.
Dean chuckled, and she looked at him, finding him watching them, very amused.
He was very used to that, wasn't he?
"Whoever fucks me last can fuck me longer," she blurted out.
Lizzie only processed her words when they were already out, and Beau smirked when their eyes connected, releasing Ben.
"Well," he stood straighter. "Go on, Benny. Have your turn. I don't mind having some sloppy thirds."
She was flustered at his words, but Ben didn't care.
"Make sure to try and make her cum this time, will you?" Dean teased him.
He scoffed, moving to her, and Lizzie looked back at him as he caressed the middle of her back.
"Where were you?" she whined.
Why had he left?
He pulled two things from his pocket, and her eyes widened, showing them off to her.
A butt plug.
And lube.
"I had a little plan for you," he hummed. "But I think we'll have to wait, hm?"
She gasped when he felt his cock nudging her.
"I guess tonight you're going to be our little cum dump."
"Ben," Dean called.
Ben scoffed behind her, rubbing her up and down.
"She might be small, but she is a big girl, Dean," he purred. "She's gonna lose her ass virginity at some point. Why not let her Uncle Ben be it?"
She moaned, feeling completely pathetic as he teased her pussy, up and down, up and down, up-
"Please," she whined. "Uncle Ben. Stop teasing me!"
He chuckled, and she jumped when he moved his fingers to caress her ass.
"Ben!" Dean argued.
She whined.
"It's alright," she moaned. "Dean!"
Ben poured something warm against her ass, and she gasped in surprise.
"Wrong name, baby girl," he corrected her, giving her ass a slap.
Lizzie whined.
"You two are so fucking easy on her," he grunted. "She's a needy slut who loves being teased."
She squirmed, closing her eyes when he circled her with his finger, cock brushing against her entrance.
"Ben," she whined.
"Lizzie," he cooed back, mocking her.
Beau scoffed, sitting on the couch, close enough that he could touch her face if he wanted to.
"Just hurry up already," he grunted.
Ben moved behind her, and he tossed something onto him.
"Make yourself useful," he commanded. "Take a picture."
She looked at Beau, and he was rolling his eyes, but took the phone on his lap anyway.
"Wanna be filmed, Lizzie?" he caressed her hair.
Her cheeks burned hot.
"Yes, uncle Beau."
He smirked, and angled the phone to get her face just as Ben teased her asshole, pushing his cock into her cunt very slowly.
"Do you think Ben can fuck your little brains out?" he cooed.
Lizzie nodded, and he took a hand to her face, pushing his fingers into her lips.
"Pretty, pretty girl," he hummed, fucking her mouth.
Ben pushed his cock inside her more, filling her again as his finger pushed a finger into her ass.
"Look at you," Beau fucked her with his fingers. "Eyes so glazy... must be feeling so good, little princess."
Fuck, she could hear how wet her pussy was.
"You are so slicky and squishy..." Beau purred. "Must be so, so easy to just slide in there."
"I can just slide in," Ben hummed.
And he did, pushing all the way into her and making her cry out, and Beau pulled his fingers from her mouth, petting her hair a bit.
They were so fucking big, all of them.
Lizzie's brain dripped from her ears at the thought of being fucked like that every day, filled and used.
"Fuck, suck a good cunt," Ben fucked her with his finger. "Want to have you seated on my cock while I work... gonna make you warm me up."
She whined.
"Please," she begged.
But Dean chuckled.
"What work?" he scoffed.
Ben bent down, pressing his lips to her ear.
"I'll fuck you during my shows," he whispered into her ear. "I've been thinking about getting a pussy to fuck, and now I got one for free."
She moaned in pleasure.
Wait, did he work with livestreams?
"We'll see how many times they'll allow me to make you cum," he bit her earlobe. "That might teach you, hm?"
Lizzie gasped, and he pulled back, taking his cock almost all the way out and then pushing into her again.
"Ben!"
He chuckled.
"Teach me what?" she moaned.
He pulled his finger back, and when it came back, there were two of them.
"To be patient," he grunted. "And take what we give you. Maybe they'll drive the message better than me."
She moaned.
The thought of that made her feel so gooey.
Dozens... maybe hundreds of people watching her get fucked and used. Making her cum and cum until she was stupid.
His cock brushed against her sweet spot and Ben took a hand down, pinching her clit.
"Won't you love that?"
"Yes," she begged. "Please, Ben!"
He pulled his fingers out, and she gasped when he pushed the plug into her all the way in.
Before she could even react to it, he moved behind her, fucking her hard.
The way she moaned was embarrassing.
Beau put the camera on her face, missing the way his brother was using her, focused on her face.
She probably looked like the sluttiest of whores.
"Needy slut," he rubbed her clit.
Lizzie came right there, overstimulated already.
"Needy slut," he rubbed her clit.
Lizzie came right there, overstimulated already.
"Daddy," she cried.
"Fuck," Beau growled.
Ben buried his cock into her cunt, moaning darkly and cumming deep in her, filling her up.
So much cum in her pussy, God...
Beau laughed at his brother.
"Couldn't hold back, Ben?" he teased, tossing his phone at him. "Move over. I'll show you two."
He panted behind her, still, patting the plug, and she whined.
"Shut up, Beau," he grunted. "Been hard for a fucking hour."
"Yeah, yeah," his brother scoffed. "Don't let the cum out."
But Ben didn't move, kissing her back at first.
"Take care of it for me, will you, pretty girl?" he twisted the toy inside her, making her whine. "I'll start training that ass tomorrow."
Ben pulled back from inside her, but she had no time to get used to being empty, and Beau pushed his cock inside her right away.
"Uncle Beau!"
"There's my pussy, missed it all day," he grunted. "So messy, dripping out all that seed."
She moaned, closing her eyes.
"Do you think that'll be enough to breed you?" he picked her up, sitting her on his lap facing his brothers.
Lizzie moaned, her head falling back onto his shoulders.
"But we can't!" she whined.
He took his hand to her pussy, rubbing her clit.
"Oh, I've seen where that goes," Ben chuckled, phone pointed to her. "Sweet girl can't be bred by loved it so, so much."
Lizzie whined, squirming on top of him.
"But Ben!" she whined.
He clicked his tongue.
"No, sweetheart," he corrected her. "I'm daddy."
She pouted, squirming as Beau rubbed her clit.
"All that cum inside you," he purred. "I can feel how much you like it, I can feel your stupid cunt squeezing my cock."
Dean stood, walking to stand by her side, and pinched her nipples.
"Her tits are so small," he noted. "Imagine how big they'll get when we put our baby in her."
She could only moan, mind in a goo.
That couldn't feel hot. It shouldn't make her horny, it-
"Go on, baby," uncle Beau kissed her ear. "Cum for us while we breed you."
She came, crying and shaking on top of him, completely soft already, nearly light-headed.
"You're gonna let us use you just like that, won't you?" he made her bounce, Dean's fingers replacing his as Beau grabbed her hips, fucking her. "Gonna let us fill you up, fuck you deep."
"No need to find a job," Ben told her. "Just stay home, be our little stay-at-home girlfriend."
"Our girl," Beau grunted. "Now and forever."
He slammed into her hard, making her feel like her brain was just banging against the walls of her skull.
Again, she came, feeling like it would never even stop.
"I can't," she begged. "Can't cum anymore, please."
Dean pulled his fingers away, and Beau hugged her close as he used her, cumming inside her quickly as she floated in the pleasure of being thoroughly theirs.
She didn't miss the feeling of him cumming in her, and fell onto his shoulder as she kissed sweetly all over her face, shoulder and neck.
She felt someone between her legs, and Lizzie gasped when Beau pulled inside her and hands held her legs spread.
"Fuck, yes," Ben grunted from between her legs. "Look at all that cum, baby girl."
"Careful," Beau panted. "It's going to stain the couch."
"I'll deal with that," he assured him. "I've never stained it, not gonna be a first now."
She heard the sound of Dean gagging for a moment before Ben kissed her thigh and pulled back, and opened her eyes to look at them.
"Poor baby girl," Dean cooed, picking her up, and she wrapped her legs around him weakly. "Let's take you to the bathroom to clean you."
Dean was very gentle with her, never lingering in a weird way, giving her a moment to pee - because UTIs aren't nice - and fixed her hair before carrying her to a very large and very comfy bed.
Lizzie scrunched her nose at being alone, but embraced the body that first lied by her side.
"You know, your room is surprisingly clean."
She looked up, picking up on Beau's voice, and Ben squeezed her.
"What's up with all the cameras?" Dean mumbled.
She looked around, surprised to see how many cameras he had set around, capturing his bed in many positions, all with their lenses covered.
"They are off, don't worry," he gruffed, pressing a kiss to her temple. "I'm not gonna waste my time putting them away for you."
Dean scoffed, and she felt the bed dip, and relaxed when she felt him embracing her closely, only in his underwear.
"Hey," Beau called. "Where do I go?"
She opened her eyes and the boys squeezed her.
He was standing by the bed with an annoyed face.
"I'm not moving," Ben hid his face in her neck.
Beau huffed.
"Ben!" he half whined.
Dean sighed by her side, and Lizzie gasped when he lifted her and put her on top of him.
"We be the bed," he decided.
Lizzie couldn't quite complain.
Beau lied down with them, at last, and she rested on Dean's chest, feeling Beau's fingers when he started to pet her hair.
“When was the last time we all shared a bed together?” he hummed.
"Not since our balls dropped," Ben spoke into her neck.
But Dean had a different answer.
“No, it was definitely after our birthday, two years ago," he corrected him. "You were such a baby and wouldn’t get your fat ass off of my bed, and Beau was worried you’d choke on your vomit in your sleep.”
Ben scoffed.
“Hey, I’m in a strict diet, you definitely weigh more than me, fatso.”
She felt Dean moving to answer him, but Lizzie was quick to diffuse the situation, kissing Dean, then Ben, then Beau.
"Be nice to one another," she scolded them. "You're brothers."
The boys all laughed.
"We are mean to each other because we are brothers," Dean pointed out.
Lizzie huffed and they all kissed her, both her cheeks and forehead.
"We'll be nice," Beau promised. "For you."
Dean hummed in agreement.
"Right, Ben?" he raised his head.
Ben scoffed.
"Right, right."
She smiled, cheeky.
"Good, or you are never touching this pussy again," Lizzie affirmed.
Well...
"For a month," she added.
"Yes, ma'am," they agreed.

Dangerous
Tumblr media
Summary: The reader does something “dangerous”. Beau thinks she ought to be punished for it...
Pairing: Dom!Beau Arlen x sub!reader
Word Count: 1,600ish
Warnings: language, smut
A/N: Because sometimes Beau just gives those little looks ;)
_______
“What was that?” asked Beau when you stepped inside the side door of your house. You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Uh, I was getting the mail I forgot to earlier?” you said, setting it on the table in the foyer before going to the sink to wash up. Beau huffed, getting close as you grabbed the nearby towel to dry off. “What are-”
“I thought I told you it’s dangerous to go out late at night alone.”
“It’s nine,” you laughed, surprised when you felt Beau’s chest flush against your back, large hands resting on your arms, gripping ever so gently. You stilled, inhaling sharply. “Oh. You mean…”
“I tell you not to put yourself in dangerous situations and what do you do? Go and do it right in front of me,” he murmured, voice husky and low. “Do I need to teach you a lesson or not?”
You smirked, lowering your head. Oh, he wanted to play tonight. You could easily turn him down and spend a different kind of evening in bed with Beau but he’d been so stressed at work lately and you relished seeing that rough, commanding side of him.
“You couldn’t teach me a lesson in your dreams, sheriff.” With that, you rolled your hips back against his crotch, Beau groaning quietly. “Do your worst.”
He audibly growled and picked you up, throwing you over his shoulder. You yelped when he smacked your ass, a content hum emitting from his throat as he carried you back to your bedroom. He unceremoniously dropped you on the bed, letting your body bounce. He leaned down over you, green eyes dark with control.
“You better be naked and presenting yourself by the time I get back.” He patted your cheek and ducked into your bathroom, shutting the door softly. You could have teased him and not done a thing but you had a feeling he didn’t want you to act out on purpose.
A moment later you were laying back on the bed, knees bent and legs spread, eyes shut. You keened when you heard the door open, a warm finger gently sliding through your folds.
“Already wet for me. Good girl,” he purred, rubbing his thumb in slow, unsatisfying circles over your clit, giving you nothing to grab onto and start a build. “Keep your eyes closed.”
The bed dipped on the other side, his strong hands yanking you backwards and flush against his chest, forcing you to kneel in his lap. The tip of his hard cock slid between your folds, grinding against you.
“Hands behind your back,” he said, kissing your earlobe. With a hitched breath, you carefully moved your arms, Beau easily wrapping his fingers around your wrists with one hand, squeezing enough to let you know he was in charge. He chuckled deeply as he moved his other hand around to your clit, rubbing it with more force, making you squirm back against him. “Who said you were allowed to do that?”
You tried to still but he was relentless, using talented fingers to wind you up right to the edge, his cock still sliding back and forth with a controlled movement of his hips. When he backed off and his hand moved away, you whimpered. You were so close.
And absolutely dripping.
“Such a bad girl earlier, weren’t you?” he said, gripping your hip. He slammed himself inside in one deep thrust, your walls fluttering around him. You gasped, Beau’s hold on your hip hard enough to leave a bruise in the morning. He thrust upwards, nailing your g-spot head on, thighs trembling in response.
He slid his hand up your throat, resting over it, letting the weight of it provide enough pressure, a threat hanging in the air.
“Open your eyes,” he murmured. When you did so, you saw he’d moved your floor length mirror to lean against the opposite wall, giving you a perfect view of the two of you. “Watch me fuck you and don’t you dare come without permission.”
“Yes, sheriff,” you mumbled, Beau punching a gasp out of you as he pulled back and thrust forward. Hard. Your body quaked as he ravaged you, keeping you close, legs sat back over his, arms restrained. Even his hand over your neck forced your head up, your eyes locking with his in the reflection.
He growled as he ravaged you, rough jerks of his hips setting a brutal pace assaulting you over and over again as you were powerless to stop it. Whines and whimpers left your throat, Beau nipping at your shoulder.
“Be a good girl and take a deep breath.” You inhaled deeply, Beau gripping your throat, cutting off your air. Within a few seconds your orgasm was right there, teetering on the edge of too much. Then he was letting go, telling you to take a deep breath. He did it over and over, cutting off your air for only a few seconds at a time but he was winding you up like crazy, your tired legs trying to thrust back pathetically against him. “Big, big breath for me. This time, I’m not letting go until you come all over my cock.”
He gave you a moment to get some air in your lungs before he squeezed, slamming his hips, the whole bed shaking with every movement.
Your orgasm was building up and up, finally teetering over the edge into a long, deep explosion, only heightened by the fact Beau still had his hand on your throat. It sent you straight into a second orgasm, body flush and covered with sweat. When you just about lost all your senses, you felt him throb inside you, his hand removing itself from your throat, Beau fucking up into you harder and harder, the pump of his hips finally slowing.
“S’good girl,” he murmured, panting behind you, releasing your wrists and wrapping his arms around your waist. You leaned against him with closed eyes, his heart pounding away behind you. “So good for me, aren’t you.”
You held up your hand for a high five, Beau laughing as he smacked it. He carefully slipped out of you and gave you a firm hug, snuggling down into your neck.
“Thank you. You were so good,” he purred, kissing under your jaw. “Let’s get you cleaned up.”
“Did you already run a bath?” you asked when he carried you into the warm bathroom, tub already mostly filled up. “I love when you think of everything.”
“I learned my lesson after last time. Fill up the tub beforehand but do not have it going full force,” he said, gently lowering you into the water before turning it off. He kissed your temple before climbing in himself behind you, grabbing the bottle of soap, squirting some in his hands. “Anything sore?”
“I’m good,” you hummed, fingers dancing over your skin, sudsing you up. “You want to talk about what happened at work?”
“Am I that obvious?” he chuckled. “Just a stressful day. A perp outran me so that was a tad demoralizing. We got him eventually but I swear I’m just wearing sneakers to work from now on.”
“Isn’t the whole running after bad guys thing why you have deputies?” You slid further down into the tub, tilting your head back up at him.
“Gotta show ‘em the boss can keep up,” he said, kissing your forehead. “So did you get anything in the mail?”
“Just junk.” You started to laugh. “And uh, next time you can just say you want to be in charge. Scolding me for getting the mail at night was freaking hilarious.”
“Will do. My brain just shorted out and went with it,” he chuckled.
“Considering you’re the one who told me this is one of the safest neighboorhoods in town, specifically mentioning it’d be perfectly fine to be outdoors at night-”
“Hey, hey,” he said. “I did a dumb. But I also gave you two orgasms.”
“You did,” you hummed. “Alright. We’ll let the idiocy go.”
“So kind of you,” he said, smiling down at you. “You want to watch a movie and have sundaes after our bath? Or are you sleepy?”
“You had me at sundae, babe.” He laughed, quickly turning into a groan when his phone rang.
“Ugh. No one calls this time of night except for work,” he said. He carefully climbed out and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around his waist and trotting to the bedroom. You peeked your head over the tub edge, watching him throw his head back. “I’ll be there in twenty.”
“Beau!” you whispered, Beau putting his hand over the end of the phone. “Let Pop take lead. It’ll be good for him and you can check in on him in the morning.” He blinked and you rolled your eyes. “Delegate! You’re the boss, remember?”
“Hey Pop, why don’t you take lead if you’re up for it…perfect. I’ll see you in the morning,” he said, hanging up, quickly hopping back in the warm water. “Did I ever tell you how sexy you are when you’re getting me out of work?”
“Sexier than that mirror action?”
“Close second,” he laughed, soaping himself up. “It didn’t sound too serious.”
“Beau?” He hummed. “You’re naked in a bathtub with your girlfriend.”
“What’s work again?” he chuckled, pulling you into his lap where you felt his dick stiffening slightly.
“You up for a round two?” you asked, reaching behind you, stroking him slowly.
“With you? Abso-fucking-lotely, sweetheart.”

I apologize for any inconsistencies, incorrect information, exaggerations, or complete fallacies. Also, this story is going to take place over a few months. Some things might be delayed or appear illogical to not have been thought of before they take place in the timeline, but it’s purely for story purposes.

“Got it, Cap. We’re on our way.”
You made your way over to your partner, Jack Darcy, with your brows raised in question as you handed him his coffee. “New case?”
He gave you an appreciative smile. “Yep. Body found on a property over on Missoula. Cap said we need to get our asses over there asap.”
“Okay,” you sighed, opening the passenger door.
Once you and Jack were settled inside the car, he turned a smirk on you after pulling away from the curb. “What’s wrong, Y/L/N? Getting tired of Homicide already?”
You shrugged half-heartedly, keeping your eyes on the road. “Just another day, another body.”
“You’ve only been working this beat for four months. It can’t be that bad.”
It was that bad. Transferring to Montana from New York, you prepared yourself for small city life, thinking things would slow down since the local population you’d be protecting and serving had drastically reduced from over a million to thousands. Boy, had you been wrong.
“Four months and five years,” you corrected. You’d worked your way up to Homicide in Manhattan but once you got there, as good as you were at it, it wasn’t where you wanted to stay. Hence the transfer to Big Sky Country. You had heard Montana was beautiful and not as chaotically complicated as the Big Apple. So far, only one of those things had proven to be true. Something you thought about as you stared out the window at the clear blue sky.
“Yeah, but, you have to admit, things aren’t as crazy here. We’re lucky to get, what, maybe three cases a week?”
“That’s three too many,” you muttered. In the reflection of your window, you saw Jack roll his eyes but he stayed quiet. In the short time you’d been partnered, he already knew to leave things be when you’d get in this type of mood, which seemed to happen every time you got a new case lately.
The truth was that you were tired — tired of the bodies piling up, tired of the horrors you saw that people could inflict on one another. Not to mention you couldn’t even begin to count how many unsolved homicide cases there were, active and cold. Once you landed here, you noticed the differences right away between your former precinct and your new one, resources and budgets being two of them. Your unit was smaller than your previous one and the bureaucratic bullshit that existed everywhere no matter the location in the country was even different in its own ways. You told yourself that you were making a difference, just like you had back in New York, but lately, that mantra wasn’t cutting it. Unbeknownst to Jack or anyone else in the squad, you were starting to wonder if maybe you should pursue a different path in law enforcement, transfer to a different department. Just like your former partner had urged you to do back when he left. Though, what that could be and if it was even possible, you had no idea, but you were thinking about it.
You opened your window slightly, feeling the crisp air hitting you, and it encouraged you to take a deep breath, ignoring the fact that you were barreling towards yet another murder scene, yet another poor soul that had met with a foul end at someone else’s hand.
Jack listed off the details he had been told so far about the case that had been dropped in your laps, making your eyes close in pain and had you grabbing at your necklace under your shirt. Memories flashed through your mind of a crying family, a picture of a smiling young girl in her high school graduation cap and gown with her proudly holding up her diploma, and a sinister smile from an older man in an interrogation room as his eyes hungrily roved over pictures of the crime scene he was accused of creating. You shook your head to clear your mind and took another deep breath of the Montana air in order to assist in dispeling the thoughts, helping you keep your feet in the present you found yourself in and serving as a reminder to leave the past behind as you had promised yourself you would when you moved out here.
As horrible as this new case sounded, you hoped it wouldn’t be connected to the string of murders you and Jack had been investigating since your arrival.
And almost as if your partner had heard your thoughts, he spoke it into existence. “It might not be connected,” he said hopefully, echoing your own wish. “It might be a standalone. Some random.”
“Could be,” you agreed. “But you know as well as I do that it already sounds like the same MO.”
Jack thought over that for a moment. “We won’t know for sure until we get there and take a look around,” he reminded you. He didn’t want it to be connected anymore than you did.
You nodded and decided to leave it for now, knowing he was right. You needed to get there and start your own investigation; that was the only way to know for certain if this victim would be added to the already sizable file you had sitting on your desk back at the station.
As Jack sped you both towards the scene, you offered up a silent prayer to whoever was listening that you wouldn’t need to add this person’s name to your growing list, and that you’d find whoever was responsible. While you were at it, you also prayed for the one thing you asked every single day: for people to stop hurting one another. It might be an impossible thought when there were 8 billion people running around the planet but you still asked nonetheless. If it was answered, you’d be out of a job, yet you would never be so happy to have to look for a new line of work. However, until that prayer was answered or until you made the decision to move on from Homicide, you’d still continue to work the cases and do your best to find answers as well as justice for the victims alongside the loved ones left behind to suffer.
Gripping the pendant on your necklace, you took another deep breath and put your game face on when Jack pulled up to the scene swarming with Helena PD officers and yellow crime scene tape, bordered by curious neighbors and local media. The white sheet instantly caught your eye and you turned to Jack, both of you exchanging a nod before getting out of the car to make your way towards the newest crime scene of your case files list.
Tumblr media
You were still inspecting the body when you heard Jack mutter, “Aw, hell.” You glanced up, furrowing your brows in question. He inclined his head towards a Bronco that had just pulled up to the scene.
You turned to see a blonde woman and a man with a Stetson on his head exit the vehicle. The glint of a badge caught your eye from the man’s belt when he moved to close the door. Both he and the woman started glancing around, walking up to one of the officers standing sentry at the surrounding crime scene tape and speaking with him. You exchanged a glance with Jack before returning your attention to the body. “Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department?”
Your precinct had clashed with them before, though clashed was a bit of a strong word. Compared to Manhattan, the two departments played better together in their joint sandbox; still, that didn’t mean there wasn’t the occasional pissing match, especially when there was a possibility of jurisdictions overlapping. You had heard all about it from your coworkers but it rarely ever happened when you and Jack caught a case.
“The sheriff,” Jack clarified, making you gape up at him in surprise before turning to look over the man with the hat and beard again with a more discerning eye.
“He’s…young.” He was definitely not what you expected, and you were even more surprised that he hadn’t driven himself to the scene, idly wondering if his department vehicle was possibly in the shop.
“Youngest they’ve ever had I’ve heard, and a transplant from Texas, too. One of the good ol’ boys.” So, this was the sheriff you’d heard so much about. Who was the blonde then? You watched as the officer the two had been speaking to held up the tape and let them through.
And as if he could read your mind, Jack then added, inclining his head in the blonde’s direction, “That’s his undersheriff, Jenny Hoyt.” You recognized the name. You’d heard of her as well. A bit of a wildcard, that one, and she didn’t play too well with others at times. “She’s a local. Rumor also has it that she gets plenty under the sheriff.” You glared over at your partner. He laughed and threw his hands up. “Hey, I’m just saying that’s the rumor.”
Rolling your eyes, you went back to your job. You were studying the shallow scrapes on the back of the woman’s wrist when you heard Jack snapping his gloves off and saw him get up out of the corner of your eye.
“Sheriff,” he greeted. “Jack Darcy, Homicide.”
The man gave him a nod. “Beau Arlen. So, what do we have here?” You could hear the twang coming through. He was from Texas alright.
“37 year old female victim, yet to be identified. Homeowner found her this morning when he was letting his dog out, called us right away.”
“Coroner get a look at her yet?”
“He’s en route. Detective Y/L/N and I are doing the initial workup, we’ll let him take over when he gets here. You know the drill.”
“Oh, I do.”
“Do we have any idea on motive?” Through your peripherals, you saw the undersheriff take off her sunglasses and hold out her hand for gloves. An officer handed her a pair and you could hear the tell-tale snapping.
“None yet. Appears to be a brutal stabbing and her throat was cut. Attack could have happened overnight, while she was walking or waiting for a ride, we’re not sure yet. It’s really too early to tell on motive, but don’t worry, Sheriff, we got it from here.” Jack was giving them just enough info to address what they were seeing while also politely shooing them away. You were grateful for it. You weren’t done examining the body or the scene just yet.
The sheriff chuckled good-naturedly. “I’m sure you do. We heard the call and we were in the area, so we figured we’d drop by and see if you city boys needed any help.”
You bit your lip to keep the wiseass remark you wanted to make from slipping out of your mouth. Jack was right; he sounded like one of the good ol’ boys. He probably meant well but damn did it irritate you when you heard remarks like that, especially when you were mid-investigation onsite. Neither you nor Jack had time for this. Nevertheless, you swallowed down the retort and instead focused on the scene. You had only been here for four months so you were still new, and if you wanted to make a leap somewhere down the line, you needed to play nice and not cause any waves.
In the corner of your vision, Hoyt had bent down on the opposite side of the body, her fingers inspecting the woman’s neck where the more severe gashes were. “Any initial impression on the actual cause of death?”
Okay, fuck playing nice. You weren’t territorial or easily bothered, but other than Jack, you didn’t remember asking for another partner. Any other case you’d have just rolled your eyes and sat back while she did her own workup, entertained at her thinking she would know better than yours or Jack’s experience in homicide, but not today and definitely not this case. “Well, I’m no M.E. but I’d say the huge knife wound to the heart along with the throat slash are pretty good bets for being the culprit. Though we’d have to rule out strangulation based on the ligature marks on her neck, you know, just to be safe.”
“Strangulation, too? That’s overkill,” Hoyt murmured, clearly not picking up on your sarcasm.
“Hence homicide.” You ignored her glare and went back to doing your job. Jack chuckled under his breath at your smartassery.
“Well, we’ll just get out of your way and let you continue playing Coroner then.”
You shrugged, not caring in the least about her attitude. “That’d be great, thanks.” The sooner she cleared out and let you finish doing your job, the better.
She scoffed. “There’s no need to be so—”
“Hoyt,” the sheriff warned. “Play nice. Let’s try and remember we’re all on the same team here.”
You couldn’t help but smirk when the sheriff pulled on her leash. Undersheriff or not, how dare she push her way into your crime scene and start questioning you?
Jack spoke up then. “Sheriff Arlen, Hoyt, this is my partner, Detective Y/N Y/L/N.”
“Pleasure,” you ground out, still staring down at the marks on the victim’s neck and the pattern of bruising that was starting to become eerily familiar.
“Likewise,” the sheriff replied. Hoyt stayed silent, her narrowed eyes trained on you.
Jack exchanged glances with the man before clearing his throat. “Anyway, Sheriff, as you can see, we’ve got things well in hand. We appreciate you stopping by, though.”
Beau shot him an amiable smile. “Of course. We’ll get out of your hair. Come on, Hoyt, let’s leave them to it.”
Hoyt never broke her gaze away from you as she got to her feet, snapping off her gloves. You smirked wider, shaking your head in amusement.
Jack’s phone started ringing and he grabbed it. “Sorry, gotta take this.” At Beau waving him off, he immediately picked up the call. “Yeah, Cap? Ah, we’re still going over it but—yeah she’s looking at the body right now. Looks like the attack didn’t happen onsite but she’s confirming that right—.”
“She wasn’t attacked here,” you confirmed for him, never taking your eyes off of the scene in front of you.
“Sorry, Cap, one sec. What was that, Y/L/N?”
You slowly lifted your eyes to his. “She wasn’t killed onsite.” You saw Jack’s shoulders slump slightly and any hope he had held onto when taking Anderson’s call immediately go right out of him. You both already knew as much, the signs of a body dump surrounding the scene, but Jack didn’t want to be the bearer of that news to your captain.
Jack told Captain Anderson he’d call him right back and promptly hung up. “You’re sure?” He asked, sounding deflated.
You gave him a nod, glancing at him somewhat sympathetically. “Positive.”
Your partner sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Shit.”
“What makes you so sure?” Hoyt questioned, her arms crossed and scowl trained on you.
So begins the pissing match. Fighting the urge to roll your eyes, you pointed to the body. “What’s the one thing missing from this scene that should be everywhere?”
Both the blonde and the sheriff quickly scanned the area. “Blood,” the man answered.
“Blood,” you confirmed. “There are no footprints or drag marks around the body. No ID, barefoot, clothes are slightly torn and oversaturated with blood but otherwise holding up well, blood and mud-stained soles of her feet on a well manicured lawn after a dry evening with no blood drops or trails anywhere, decomp is more advanced than it should be if she died last night…she was dumped here.” You then pointed to the shallow cuts you found near the victim’s hands and wrists. “And she fought like hell.” You let your eyes linger on the victim for a moment, shaking your head sadly, and got up with a sigh. “She was tortured for a while before she was killed.”
“But why dump the body here? On some random person’s lawn in the middle of the city where the killer could have easily been seen or caught on camera? Why not leave her somewhere she’d never be found, where they wouldn’t have to risk themselves being seen?”
Your gaze moved over to Jack, both of you already knowing the answer to all of that, and he heaved his own heavy sigh.
“To send a message,” he answered.
“A message? To whom?” Hoyt asked.
Your eyes never leaving Jack’s, you snapped your gloves off, both of you opting not to share anything outside of the department. If Hoyt wanted answers, she could call Anderson and he could field that one. “That’s what we’re going to try to find out. Darcy, let’s start sifting through missing person reports from the last few days to see if any match her description.”
“She could have been held longer than that,” Hoyt piped in.
You turned a glare on her. “No, she couldn’t have.” What was with this blonde? Her boss who outranked her already told her to leave it alone. So why couldn’t she just leave you to your crime scene that you clearly knew more about than she did and just be gone already? One glance at the sheriff studying the two of you intently answered that for you. She was trying to show you up in front of him or show off for him, you weren’t quite sure which.
“What makes you so sure?” Hoyt was outright smirking at you now, content in her attempt to ruffle your feathers.
“As I said, the clothes are in excellent condition despite being soiled and there’s also the state of decomposition of the body. Had she been held longer than the time frame I just mentioned and say, killed yesterday, the state of the clothes would be much worse and they would have started deteriorating sooner. Not to mention her pedicure was not that old. Cuticles are pressed and intact.”
“She could have touched it up herself before she was taken. Or gotten it done right before.”
“Hoyt.” Beau gave her a look when she turned her smirk on him. “Let it go. They’ve got it.”
“That’s alright.” You took a step closer, staring down Hoyt and smirking right back. “Undersheriff Hoyt, if you would like to take over the investigation, by all means.” You waved a hand at the scene in front of you, ignoring Jack’s wide eyes and the motions he made with his hand to get you to rescind that offer. “If you’d like, I can make sure the State is made aware that you are now heading this case.”
“Wait, State’s involved?” The sheriff asked in surprise that then turned dubious.
“They are,” you answered before Jack could, never looking away from the blonde.
“Already?” Hoyt asked, suspicion clear as day on her face.
“Already,” you confirmed, no hesitation. “So shall I call them and tell them that this is now your case?”
Hoyt’s smirk had dropped long ago and the scowl was back in place. She considered you for a moment and then stuck her nose up in the air, downright glaring at you. But she didn’t say a word.
The sheriff took note of yours and Hoyt’s standoff as well as Jack’s anxious expression, then cleared his throat. “Like I said before, we’ll leave you to it.”
You nodded curtly, more than satisfied at the turn of events, and glanced back at Jack. “Call Anderson and update him. We’re looking at another one.”
He gave you a somber nod and moved away to do just that.
You couldn’t resist turning back to Hoyt with a syrupy sweet smile. “Like I said before, a pleasure.” Your smile faded and your eyes burned into hers as you spun on your heel to walk away, knowing that was the end of that little dick measuring contest and who had won. As entertaining as it had all been, you had work to do.
“Hold up a sec,” the man next to her called out.
You took a deep breath and turned, seeing Hoyt and Sheriff Arlen exchanging a glance. The latter locked eyes with you and put his hands on his hips. “You said it was another one. Just how many victims have you had show up with this MO?”
Hoyt arched her brows expectantly at you, waiting for you to answer.
“I’m not at liberty to discuss any ongoing investigations in the Helena Police Department. If you have any questions, you can direct them to my captain. Jack can give you the number.” You then walked away, heading back to the car, more than eager to take a minute for yourself and collect your thoughts under the guise of needing to make a call. You couldn’t believe you and Jack had yet another victim on your hands this soon. The guy you were after didn’t appear to be slowing down at all; if anything, he was picking up his pace, and that worried you.
It shouldn’t have surprised you when the sheriff was suddenly next to you, matching your stride. “Bureaucratic bullshit aside, I need to know, are we dealing with something nasty here?”
“Nastier than someone brutally torturing and killing another person, then dumping the body somewhere she’s sure to be found so another person can be terrorized?”
“Good point. But you know what I mean. I saw you and Dorsey back there, I know there’s something you’re not saying. Are we talking about a serial killer or something else?” He shook his head when you didn’t answer him. “Come on, Detective Y/L/N, tell me what we’re dealing with here.”
You let out a breath and stopped in your tracks, turning to face him. “It’s Darcy. And we are not talking about anything or dealing with anything together. As I said, if you have any questions, you can direct them to—”
“Your Captain, yeah, I got it.” He took a deep breath and his hands were back on his belt, green eyes pleading with you though there was a sharp edge to them. “Listen, if there’s something serious going on in my county, I need to know about it. If the shoe was on the other foot, we’d give you the professional courtesy, you know that.” You had to admit that he had a point, though you weren’t exactly sure how he didn’t already know about the growing threat, from local media coverage to small town folks talking. You may have oversold State’s involvement earlier to get Hoyt off of your backs so you could continue to do your jobs without further interference, but nothing could be further from the truth. Captain Anderson as well as the Chief were doing everything they could to keep things tight and close to the vest. A serial killer on the loose in this area wasn’t exactly unheard of; there had been the Bleeding Heart killer that evaded capture for years until recently. However, your bosses were under the strict impression that people didn’t need to worry about another potential problem, possibly breaking through the front doors of their homes, or abducting and killing their neighbors quite so soon. It would look like they couldn’t get a handle on their city, people would be too scared to leave their homes, people would stop coming through here, and Helena would become known as a haven for serial killers. At least that’s all of the bullshit reasoning you’d heard so far.
You personally disagreed with it all; you had learned first hand back in New York how valuable it could be to the investigation to keep the local population on alert, and how it might help reduce the number of victims. It could even provide a break in the case. Out here, in a close knit community such as this one, well, public awareness was not always viewed the same way hence all the bullshit justifications in keeping it quiet. At least as far as you had seen with this particular string of murders, anyway.
But even with your bosses working hard to keep a lid on things, how had this sheriff or his department not somehow become aware of what was going on right under their very noses?
Your gaze flickered back to the scene, seeing Jack talking with Hoyt, most likely in the same position you were in since the sheriff duo obviously decided to try to divide and conquer, before it landed back on the man in front of you. Seeing the concern layering his brow, his expression determined, you decided the hell with it. You’d made the case to Anderson more than once for things to go public, to lean on State more, to compare notes with other law enforcement such as the Sheriff’s Department to see if there were any other patterns or victims you were unaware of, missing or dead, or maybe even reported attempts at abduction or someone seeing something strange that could help turn the tide. Yet each time, you’d been denied and politely warned to keep your mouth shut, your head down, and to focus on your job. Well, you were already thinking of a change; what could it hurt to let this earnest looking sheriff know what was really going on? Perhaps he’d even do something with the limited information you could give him and jurisdiction squabbles aside, would it really be so bad to have another pair of eyes on the lookout for the same things you were? You didn’t think so. “Bureaucratic bullshit aside, nothing has been officially determined yet. For this case or..any others.”
His eyes tightened. “How many are we looking at so far?”
You bit your lip and turned to look at the officers surrounding the area. “Five.”
“And she’s the sixth?”
“If it’s determined that this fits that MO, then yes.”
“Based on your previous cases, does it?”
You gave him a look, staying silent. He knew you couldn’t answer that outright.
The sheriff let out a sigh and dropped his gaze to the ground. “Span of time?”
“Four in the last four months.” His head snapped up, his mouth hanging open. “That’s since I’ve been here. One was found right before I showed up.”
He nodded and glanced back towards the scene. “Goddamn,” he said under his breath. After a moment, he turned back to you. His features started to relax slightly and the beginning of a smile began to form on his lips. “So, that’s why I haven’t seen you around before. I was wondering. Four months, huh? How’re you liking it so far?”
You glanced back in the direction of the body. “Seriously considering a change of address,” you muttered. “Maybe something tropical. People seem happier near beaches. I’m thinking it’s gotta be the sand, bikinis, and free-flowing booze. That or people are just too exhausted from being in the sun all day. I think that’d suit me just fine.”
A warm laugh escaped him as his bright smile graced you, reaching up to his eyes this time. It made you nearly smile in response, it was that infectious. He was certainly attractive and he had the whole sexy cowboy sheriff vibe working for him, complete with hat. For a split second, you wondered what could have happened had you met him at one of the local bars some night where your introduction to one another would have been vastly different. You tried to picture yourself line dancing at some country bar he might frequent but couldn’t. You’d tried it once but never really cared for it. You were more of a swayer and every so often (with a certain amount of liquid courage or lust coursing through your veins) a grinder. Instead, you might have grabbed his hat off of his head to get his attention and plopped it on yours, uttering the cheesy line of “Save a horse, ride a cowboy” or something to keep his focus squarely on you for the rest of the night. Before you could get too carried away in your thoughts, seeing an officer moving past you reminded you of why you were here. You needed to concentrate and get your head back into the game.
“Oh, come on,” he urged, thankfully completely oblivious to what you had been thinking. “It’s only been four months! It took me at least six to settle in when I moved up here. You’ve got to give it at least that. I do copy you on the beaches thing, though. Definitely a slower pace.”
“Right? Though it’s gotta be a real pain in the ass to collect evidence in between tourists and the saltwater. You know what? Maybe I should just change careers. I’ll become a lifeguard. Bring some Baywatch to the Bahamas.” Oh no, that sounded flirty, hadn’t it? You hadn’t meant for it to sound flirty.
His eyes lit up slightly but his amiable smile stayed the same. “I have no doubt in my mind you could.”
You nearly smirked but forced yourself to look disappointed. “But then again, there are sharks in the Bahamas, so maybe my Baywatch lifeguard audition will have to wait until, say, never.”
“Well, that’s a crying shame. Just when I thought I’d finally make the plane ride to the Bahamas.” His voice had dipped in register and his gaze burned into you, making you almost shiver. It was very obvious what he was thinking and you were thankful you were surrounded by several officers, your partner included, because there was no telling what you’d do if it was just the two of you and he looked at you like that. You had a very good idea of what he’d do and you found that you didn’t mind all that much, if you two weren’t on the job and he wasn’t already involved with someone else.
You forced yourself to focus, holding a hand up. “Alright, slow your roll there, Hasselhoff. You want to swim with the sharks, you go right ahead. Me? I’m staying on dry land, thank you very much.” He laughed again and you rolled your eyes, crossing your arms, thankful that you had been able to change the course of that conversation. “So, six months, huh? From Texas I take it?”
His smile got brighter if that were even possible. “The accent that obvious?”
“The accent, the hat, the whole cowboy vibe you’ve got going on.” You gestured to him with a hand.
“You got something against cowboys?” He teased.
“Nope. It’s just that we don’t see too many of those in the Big Apple.”
“New York, huh? Should’ve known. You’ve got the whole SVU vibe working for you.”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes again. Like you hadn’t heard that one before. “Not every female detective from Manhattan is named Olivia Benson and not all of us work out of SVU.”
He held his hands up, still smiling. “I didn’t mean anything by it, darlin’.” At your raised brows, he chuckled. “Just a friendly term where I come from. I didn’t mean anything by that either.”
“Uh huh.” You spun on your heel and continued your trek to the car, nodding your thanks at the officer who lifted the crime scene tape for you to pass under. The sheriff continued to dog your steps which made you smile discreetly.
“So, tell me, how do people on that tiny island live all squished together like that?” He wondered.
“I don’t know, one and a half million people somehow manage to figure it out every day.”
“One and a half million? Son of a bitch.” You had just reached the vehicle when he turned to you. “Who am I kidding? I come from Houston and we have even more people there. Except we’re spread out and have more room to roam.” He chuckled, expecting you to find that as funny as he did.
You gave him a polite smile and opened your door, waiting. “Was there anything else you needed, Sheriff?”
“Please, call me Beau. And yeah, there was one more thing.” You arched a brow up at him and his grin melted into a different smile altogether, making something flip inside your stomach. Uh oh. You were back in that murky territory from a moment ago. “I was wondering if you’d let me take you to dinner.”
Your gaze snapped to where Jack was currently talking on his phone. Hoyt wasn’t too far from him, watching your every move, you swung your head back to find the sheriff staring at you expectantly, the same smile from before sitting on his bearded face. You decided not to beat around the bush. “I was under the impression that you were…otherwise engaged.”
His brows began to furrow in confusion. “How do you mean?”
You inclined your head back in Hoyt’s direction. He quickly glanced over and then back to you. “What, Hoyt? No, we’re just partners. She’s my undersheriff and a friend, nothing more.” You shot him a look and he laughed. “I’m serious, there’s nothing going on. I’m free as a bird. So, how about that date?”
You bit your lip in thought, trying to think of the best way to politely turn him down. You really, really wanted to accept, to see where this might go, even if it was just a one time thing, but the way Hoyt was eyeing him and you right now, there was bound to be trouble there, even if it was only a simple dinner between you and the cowboy. Which, as Beau had said before, was a crying shame. He seemed nice enough but you really couldn’t afford to make waves, not if you planned to secure another transfer after such a short stint up here. You would have to politely decline his invitation. “I’m probably going to be working late, especially with this new case. Thank you for the offer, though.”
He tilted his head, smiling wider at you. “Come on, you gotta eat sometime. Besides, what kind of sheriff would I be if I didn’t show a newcomer such as yourself some of the great things Helena has to offer? Like the steakhouse I’d like to take you to. They have the best ribeye in the whole county, hand to God.”
You could see that he expected that to do the trick. So, you turned the tables on him. You closed the door and crossed your arms. “Texas, didn’t you already pump me for information about this case? I gave you what I could. There’s nothing else I can give you.”
His eyes flashed at your last statement. Uh oh. “I doubt that’s true but be that as it may, I’m not asking you to dinner to talk about work. As a matter of fact, I have a strict policy during dinner: no work-talk. So, what do you say, darlin’? Let me take you out?”
You glared up at him. “Will you drop the darlin’?”
“If you really want me to,” he agreed.
“I really want you to.”
“Consider it done. May I call you by your first name then?”
“I’d prefer it to darlin’.”
“Alright. Y/N. Now that we’ve got that settled, I’ll pick you up at your place, say around…7?”
Shit, were you really going to do this? You could not afford to make waves. There wasn’t really anything stopping you. You two worked for different departments, precincts even. He wasn’t your superior and while he outranked you, you weren’t working with him. He had addressed the Hoyt issue head on, assuring you they weren’t involved. You two were grown adults, able to just have a nice meal together. Besides, you hadn’t had a good steak in a while and what could it hurt? Although, you couldn’t have him come to your house because you were pretty sure you’d never make it past the porch, not with the way he had been eyeing you up earlier, not with how often your thoughts headed in that direction.
You noticed him lick his lips as he waited for your answer. It easily could have been a nervous tic, thinking you’d might turn him down, but your brain zoned in on the action. His smile was warm, infectious, and you hadn’t terribly minded your little banter before. You could probably have a somewhat decent time and get along fairly well. Before you knew it, you were agreeing to let him take you to dinner. “Make it 7:30, outside the precinct. I’ll be done around then.”
When he grinned happily, you felt that same flip-type feeling from earlier. Maybe dinner with someone other than Jack and something other than takeout on the fly wouldn’t be so bad. It’s not like you were promising the man anything other than a meal filled with conversation. And he had been right, you could eat, though you’d never admit it to him. It’s not like you were jumping right into bed with him…hence why you asked him to pick you up at the precinct.
“7:30 it is. I’ll see you then, Y/N.” He flashed you another smile and turned to walk away.
“See you then, Texas.”
He tipped his hat in your direction, his eyes taking forever to leave you, and headed back over to the scowling blonde. Figures — the first guy to officially ask you out since your move here would be within the vicinity of a crime scene, not to mention the whole little flirtation moment. That was just your luck, wasn’t it? A part of you even wondered if you were normal for accepting his offer at said scene, not knowing a thing about him or once thinking it odd that he chose this to be his moment after seeing a dead woman who had been stabbed repeatedly by some sick bastard.
You shook your head, unsure of what the hell you had just gotten yourself into, thinking your whole life was a weird mess, so what was one more strange thing? You sat inside the passenger seat of the car, laying your head back against the headrest as thoughts of this case ran through your mind.
Another one. How the hell was that even possible? There were now six victims with the same MO. Knife to the chest, ending in the heart, after their throat had been slashed but before they completely bled out. And this was after they’d been tortured for hours, days even, where they’d been repeatedly strangled to the point of unconsciousness and then brought back so more horrors and pain could be inflicted on them. It reminded you of a series of homicides you’d worked back in Manhattan, with an eerily similar MO; the difference was that those victims were sexually assaulted, asphyxiated with a plastic bag over their heads repeatedly, and their bodies were dropped off at different anchor points, not some random location where the body was guaranteed to be discovered within a short amount of time and it would put the killer at risk to be easily spotted by passersby or security cameras. Not to mention, you had closed the Manhattan case; the bastard was still sitting in jail — you’d checked.
You slipped your necklace from underneath your shirt and began to move the pendant back and forth as you thought it over some more. The victims here in Montana matched one description: a woman in her mid to late 30’s, usually turned out to be single or at the least casually dating, nothing serious. She always had Y/H/C hair, working hard in her chosen career or job, and she appeared to have been a decent dresser while doing the upkeep required for her fingernails and toenails. That was really what prompted your hunch about the pedicure that you couldn’t tell Hoyt, and let’s face it, wouldn’t tell her unless you were forced to. The territorial blonde had definitely left a bitter taste in your mouth.
But the New York victims had been women of various sizes, races, ages, and stations in life. One was a sex worker, one was a single mom, one was a lawyer from the Upper East side, one had been a late teen fresh out of high school… You closed your eyes in pain, gripping your pendant tightly. That had been one of your toughest cases to date. You didn’t like to think about it but that had been the one to light a fire deep within you to do whatever it took to hunt down the sick bastard who had done that to her. You worked tirelessly with your partner, trying to fit the pieces together, and run down the very little clues you had. In the end, it had all paid off. You made sure you were present that day in court for that son of a bitch’s sentencing.
You opened your eyes and thought back to your current case. Every detail of this scene fit the details of previous scenes to a tee, minus the location where the body had been dumped. But the why of the dumping seemed to fit into a pattern. Something kept prodding at you, pulling at your instincts. Something was off here. You knew you were dealing with a serial but something kept pushing at you about Manhattan… It had to be the similarities. It was only natural for you to recall your experience when you saw similar MO’s in trying to figure out who was behind the killing and what their motivation was. Yes, that was it.
You were interrupted in your reverie by your cell phone ringing. You answered it on the first ring. “Yeah?”
“I need you up here,” Jack requested.
“On my way.” You hung up and took a deep breath, slipping your necklace back under your shirt, and stepped out of the car, intent on heading back up to where your partner was. You both needed to figure this out and fast. You knew this woman was about to be added to the list of murder victims that had been the work of a serial you were currently tracking down, and based on how frequently he was doing this, he was only just getting started.

Light My Fire (Again) | beau arlen
Tumblr media
Summary: “I thought I’d swore off love, Jenny.” I smiled, chuckling a bit as I looked down to my feet then back up the skies, taking in the twinkling lights. “God, I really thought I did, and I was doing such a good job at it too. But, well, I just… I couldn’t help it.” I wet my lips slightly, biting the bottom one. “It’s improper, but it’s true.”

PREVIOUSLY ON LMF:
I looked down at my hands, the hands that could’ve stopped everything, stopped her suffering, the hands that were only a flight of stairs and a trip down the hall away. My ignorance at the time was crippling. The cruel thought that Lucy was safe and sound. It resulted in Olivia losing her mom and everything she knew, and having to live with her auntie.
Not that I’m not the best option, but if I’d picked up my metaphorical magnifying glass and looked closer, I’d see. See that things were wrong. Someone was after her, I didn’t know who, but one psycho was out to kill her, and succeeded.
The one of many times someone’s success felt like it twisted my heartstrings. The worst success.
I remembered the desperation that I had when I first investigated Lucy’s murder. The wild look I had in my eyes when I spotted myself in the mirror, and then one like a wounded animal when I wound up battered in a hospital. I didn’t want to go through that again. Not the false hope that I’d get somewhere. I didn’t need it, I didn’t want it, I couldn’t handle it. I’d possibly go feral if I found out the truth, but all the same, Lucy needed me. It was always me and her. When she was nineteen and I was eleven , not wanting to let her go because she was everything I had and more.
I hadn’t had that stable of a home life growing up. My dad cheated on my mom with his secretary and left her when I was three. Mom did the next best thing to dealing with the loss of her husband, which was filling herself brain high with any booze she could find. Lucy had taken the job of taking care of me, and she did a damn good job at it. Even got rewarded with an apple pie, white picket fence life to boot. I couldn’t have been happier for her, because she deserved every bit of happiness she got.
Even if I didn’t want to deal with the inevitable pain of investigating into my sister’s murder, I owed it to her. I needed to bring whoever killed her to justice.
I reached for my phone, dialling the first person that came to mind who’d help me with this case. I bit my lip, jogging my leg as I waited for him to pick up. ‘Hey, darlin’.’ I heard Beau’s voice from the other end, cherry as ever. ‘What can I do for ya?’
“Hey, Sheriff.” I breathed out, looking at the cassette player with stony eyes. “What d’you say to reopening a cold case?”
Tumblr media
I slammed a dusty, yet rather small, file down on my desk, with Jenny and Beau gathered around it. “This is what I have from six years ago. My sister, found by me in the backyard, eleven stab wounds in her chest. Cameras were off, no prints, killer didn’t go through the garden as there were no prints. It rained that night, so footprints were washed away.”
“Tough case, huh?” Beau sighed, folding his arms. “No prints, no murder weapon at the scene- the killer ain’t giving you much to work with.”
“No kidding.” Jenny looked over the case files. “Lucy didn’t have any enemies, by what this file says.”
“She didn’t.” I shook my head, sitting on the table. “Luce, she was… an angel, to say the least. Kind to everyone, always optimistic. I’ll be damned if anyone hated her.”
“No motive.” Beau muttered, looking up at me with slightly raised eyebrows. “Could this just be a random crazed psycho?”
“No.” I shook my head again, rubbing my chin. “Can’t be. Whoever it was knew how to get inside the house and through to the back. Only somebody who knew Lucy could do that. Somebody I know or someone she knew murdered her, and I ain’t resting until I find them.”
“Do we at least have any leads?” Jenny rubbed her forehead, looking over to me. “Any at all?”
“The cassette.” I shrugged. “It’s the last thing she left to me, and judging by the sounds behind the voice, it’s Lucy’s 42nd birthday party. I remember it, Mark was doin’ bad karaoke in the living room.”
“So this is essentially a note, but no suicide involved.”
“Somebody was sending threats.” Beau figured out, pointing at the case file with his pencil. “Think about it. Her voice ain’t exactly chirpy in that recording. Maybe a threat was sent, that she was gonna die soon.”
“A necklace.” My head perked up, my fingers snapping. “One of ‘em, it contained a raven’s feather. Or some of it. Lucy was a folklore major.”
“So she’d know it symbolises death and/or loss.” Jenny added, nodding. “That’s a start.”
“That also narrows it down.” Beau nodded, all of us going into a rhythm. “Somebody had to know she’d understand this reference, which also means someone close to her- good work, Belle.” He patted my knee proudly, giving me a broad smile. “At least you’re closer than you were before.”
“Hold on, though.” I held up a hand, frowning as a thought piqued my interest. “If that’s the case, if Lucy wanted to warn me… why now? Why at Olivia’s sweet sixteen?”
“Maybe it was something personal, something important to her.” Jenny shrugged, running a hand through her hair. “Maybe she wanted Olivia’s sixteenth to go smoothly, as if some threat would resurface at that time.”
“That’s what’s stumping me. Which person who we both know would possibly wanna harm my sister? Me, I’d understand, I don’t get on with everyone, but Lucy? Doesn’t make a lick of sense.”
“Is Lucy’s phone still kept safe?” Beau asked, deep in thought. “Maybe there’s some voicemails on there.”
“I’ll have to dig them up.” I replied before hearing a ping on my phone. I took it out, seeing the name lighting up on the screen, which made my eyes widen. I hadn’t seen this name in ages, not since eleven years. Not since I was 29, and I don’t know why I saved the number.
“Who is it, darlin’?” Beau frowned slightly, his lips also pouting imperceptibly as his eyes flickered down to my phone.
“Again with the darlin’?” Jenny chastised, and he let out a small noise in protest. My eyes were glued to my screen, trying to figure out if I was seeing things right. Jenny confirmed for me, snatching the phone out of my hand and taking a look at it, her eyes widening when she saw the name. “Cal Joyner.”
“The cheating dad Cal Joyner?”
“Yeah.” I nodded breathily. “He’s… here. In Montana.”
“Your dad in town, the cassette tape, this can’t be a coincidence. If it is, I’ll eat my hat. And trust me,” He chuckled deeply, “I love my hat.”
“There’s also how you can’t eat a hat.” Jenny contradicted with a judging look.
“I’m the sheriff, Hoyt, I will eat my hat if I damn well please.”
“Right, let’s get off the subject of eating hats.” I interrupted with a snicker. “I’ll talk to Cassie, see if I can get her and Denise to maybe research into possible news stories surrounding Lucy’s death. Maybe also get them to help with figuring out why my deadbeat dad is in town. You guys maybe look through the case files or whatever you can scavenge, see if you can find anything worthwhile.” I raised an eyebrow, looking between them expectantly. “Sound good?”
“Sounds like a plan.”
Tumblr media
I didn’t find Denise at the desk in Dewell and Hoyt HQ, so I went straight to Cassie’s office, knocking before opening the door to find… Cassie and Cormac mid-make out. They jumped apart, wiping their lips while Cassie got off the desk, trying to act as if nothing happened.
Well, it’s not everyday that you catch two grown ass people making out on a frickin’ desk.
“Woah, Cassie, get some.” I teased, leaning against the doorframe with a grin. “You too, Cormac, haven’t forgotten you. Montana’s Thor Odinson- now, would you be a stud and give Cass and I a mo’?”
“Gladly.” Cormac hurried out, and I closed the door behind him, turning to Cassie with s as chuckle.
She opened her mouth to speak, but I waved her off. “Beau and Jenny won’t hear a thing.”
“Thank you.” She smiled in relief, breathing out with her hand on her chest.
“You’re welcome. Now, we have a bit of a problem.” I frowned, running a hand through my hair. “We’re reopening my sister’s case.”
“Oh, damn.”
“Indeed. We’ll need all the info we can get from you and Denise on the matter. My dad’s in town too, so I’ll have to see what’s up with that.”
“Wait- Cal Joyner?” Cassie raised an eyebrow, folding her arms. “Cheated on your mom, left when you were three Cal Joyner?”
“The very same.” I nodded, making a face that said I was feeling awkward. You lot can put that to your imagination. “Yeah, so I have to find out why he’s in town now when evidence from my sister’s case has suddenly resurfaced.”
“I’ll get on that with Denise.”
“Yeah, and I’m sorry I interrupted your getting on with Cormac.” I winked with a smirk, unfazed when she looked at me in exasperation.
“You’re not going to let me live that down, are you?” She sighed.
“No, absolutely not.”
Tumblr media
I was sitting on my living room couch at midnight, flicking through my photo album of when I was growing up. Lucy’s broad smile and shining eyes when she saw baby me in Mom’s arms just after I was born. Another my first birthday, and Lucy was helping me blow out the candles. Lucy’s eleventh birthday, the last time Lucy was innocent and unassuming before Dad made off with his mistress. Lucy’s sweet sixteen, where she celebrated with Dean, her current best friend, me, a couple of family members and friends, including Mark, who was our next door neighbour’s son at the time. It was safe to say that Mark had always harboured a deep seated jealousy of Dean.
My eyes landed on a photo of Harry and I at a bar, and my heart felt like it was breaking all over again. The guy’s brunette hair and laughing brown eyes had always pierced my heart in a way that I couldn’t fathom. It hurt to know that those eyes didn’t look at me the way they used to anymore.
Harry was the first and last relationship I had after my sister was killed. After the car crash and I was in a bad place, which I labelled as the ‘withdrawal symptoms’ of stopping my investigation, I found him in an unexpected collision in a mall. He brightened everything somehow, made me feel like the only girl in the world until I found a text in his phone along with a very inappropriate picture.
Rhea: See you tonight, handsome ;)
I couldn’t help but think that he was just pitying me, pretending so he’d get the satisfaction that he helped someone to some extent. But here I was, moping over a guy like I was some hormonal teenager rather than a mature 40 year old. For a relationship that didn’t even feel real at this point.
After that point, I’d sworn off love and men entirely, instead deciding to focus on Olivia. The beautiful little girl who was my last blood reminder of my sister. Well, the last morally sound reminder. For the first three years, in the pursuit of my sister’s murderer, I’d neglected what I really needed to preserve. So I’d set up a rule - that men weren’t my priority.
“Aunt Isa?” Olivia was at the door to the living room, rubbing her eyes tiredly. I sat up, frowning as I saw her looking exhausted but freaked.
“Yeah, sweetheart? It’s late; are you ok?” I asked softly, my motherly instincts kicking in as I saw her trembling slightly. I didn’t wait for a response, setting the album aside and opening my arms. “C’mere, darlin’.” She hurried over, curling up in my arms. I held her tight to me, stroking her hair as I rubbed her back, my chin resting on her head as I let her calm down a bit. “Penny for your thoughts?”
“Nightmare. About mom’s death.”
“You didn’t see your mom dyin’, sweetie.” I kissed her hair lovingly. “It wasn’t real.”
“I imagined it. Filled in the blanks, and it was like I was watching.” I heard her voice tremble, which broke my heart at every quiver. I hated seeing my baby girl upset.
“Oh, Liv.” I whispered, kissing her forehead. “Sweetheart, I don’t know what to say. I’m so sorry you had to imagine that.”
“Is this how you felt?” She questioned timidly, looking up at me, her blue eyes pleading me to be honest. “When you… when you found her?”
I paused, thinking about it. “If I was to describe it, it’d be like my world’s walls were fallin’ down. It was that, plain and simple. Your mom, she was an angel. Like you, she never truly got mad, she cared no matter what you did, she gave a lot of credit where it ain’t due. She took care of me even when I was your age and mopin’ about for no apparent reason, even though she worked a job. She couldn’t be more prouder of you, wherever she is.”
“You think so?”
“I know so.” I nuzzled my cheek on her head. “You’re such a beautiful girl, Liv. So smart, and kind, I know for a fact that if your mother was here, she’d never wanna let you go.” I stroked her hair, remembering Lucy. Her smile, her laugh, her tendency to call everyone ‘love’ because she had a damn lot to give herself, her frightened voice when making the tape…
I couldn’t focus on that. Instead, I hugged Olivia tight, focusing on her. She needed to feel safe. Deserved to feel safe, and that was what I could do for her. I started to softly sing the song that Lucy sang Liv when she was a baby, gently rocking her. It was Landslide, by Fleetwood Mac.
“I took my love, I took it down, I climbed a mountain and I turned around. And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills 'til the landslide brought me down...”
Tumblr media
I was sitting in Jenny’s kitchen with Beau and Jenny, of course, the latter busy making lunch since I’d handled our breakfast. I was, again, scrolling on my Instagram, most of my feed Harry and Rhea the redhead. The guy even had the audacity to tag me in a photo, which I didn’t respond to or react to. Beau’s eyes followed mine, locking on the screen with a frown. “That’s Harry the jackass. Why are you lookin’ at photos of Harry the jackass?”
“He’s with the redhead he cheated on me with. Rhea.” I explained with a sigh, and he snatched the phone, not giving me time to protest as he looked at Rhea with an unreadable expression on his face. Then he smirked, nodding.
“I see the appeal.” He chuckled, looking at me playfully. Jenny gasped in horror, swatting his arm while I looked at him incredulously, taken aback by his audacity. “I mean, she’s gorgeous-”
“Beau!” Jenny scolded while I looked away, starting to internally panic. He… thought Rhea was gorgeous? Did he really? Was Harry justified in leaving me because I wasn’t good enough?
“I’m messin’ with you!” Beau raised his hands in surrender, taking another look at the photo before handing my phone back to me. “Sweetheart, Harry the jackass doesn’t even know who he’s lost. This Rhea girl? Doesn’t even hold a candle to you. She’s an LA three, or a Texas one. You are a ten in both worlds, darlin’. He doesn’t deserve you.”
“Thanks, Sheriff.” I sighed in relief, rubbing my face. Jenny patted Beau’s shoulder, giving him a look that said ‘I was about to rip your head off’. “You got me there for a second.”
“I got Hoyt too.”
“Yes, he did.” Jenny nodded, glaring playfully at Beau. “If you’d said that truthfully, no joking, I’d rain down hellfire.”
“Well, I’m glad I was just poking some fun.” Beau smirked, then patted my knee. “You’re gorgeous, Southern Belle. Ain’t no messing around there.”
I was about to smile and give him a compliment back, but I got a call from Cassie, and I picked it up, putting it to my ear. “Talk to me, Cassie.” I said, taking a breath out while a small chuckle threatened to escape my mouth.
‘Hey. Uh, Cormac just spotted your father at the Blue Fox Diner.’
“Cormac, huh?”
‘Yes. Now, we’re keeping an eye on him, but you should get over here quick.’
“Gotcha.” I nodded, then cut the call, turning to Beau. “Sheriff, can I have you as backup? So I don’t blow up at my dad?”
“Yeppers, let’s go meet the man who ruined your life so I can make him feel guilty.” He stood up, slinging his jacket over his shoulders.
“Beau, as be nice as you can.” Jenny chastised, but he shrugged.
“Sorry, Hoyt, no can do. If she hates him,” Beau made finger guns at me, “then I hate him.” He turned the finger guns on himself. “Can’t help it, it’s principle. Now, c’mon, Belle. Let’s meet this dude.”
Tumblr media
I walked into Blue Fox diner, Beau rubbing his hands in excitement. “D’you mind if I get one of them there sandwiches?” He looked like a giddy schoolboy, and I rolled my eyes with a smile and nodded. Beau was always a sucker for Donno’s sandwiches. As he practically skipped off to get one, I found Donno staring at me. I locked eyes with him, then he broke into a small smile.
“Elle.” He said in a deadpan voice that did not match his face, but I’d come to know over the past two months that Donno was a lot more compassionate than he let on.
“Donno.” I grinned, feeling more at ease. “Nice to see you again.”
“You too.” His eyes went down to my stomach, where I found that my hand was resting protectively over my healing bullet wound. “You were shot.” His eyes narrowed slightly. “Are you ok?”
“I was shot, good eye.” I nodded, chuckling as I looked down at my feet. “But hey, I’m doing fine. Healing.”
“Good. I don’t like seeing you hurt.” Then he pointed to a booth, where a balding man was sitting. “That’s your dad. If you’re looking for him.”
I gave him a genuine smile, my eyes furtively glancing to that booth. “Thanks, Donno.”
“You and Sheriff. You make a good couple.”
I didn’t really know what to say to that. “Uh… thank you, but we’re not a couple.” And with the awkwardness now in play, I turned on my heel and met up with Beau, who was now holding a sandwich and munching on it. I nudged him, nodding to the booth which Donno had led me to, and he clocked Cal instantly. His eyes narrowed, and he swallowed his bite as we sat down. “Cal Joyner.”
“Can I help you?” He asked, looking between Beau and I with a confused expression.
“Sheriff Beau Arlen, sir.” Beau introduced coldly, his eyes steely as he looked at my father with pure disdain in his eyes. I’d mentioned my family history to him, which made him have a deep seated hatred with my dad.
“Deputy Isabelle Joyner.” I added, which, as expected, made Cal’s eyes widen as he sat up straighter, a wide grin cracking on his face.
“Isabelle?” He whispered, tilting his head as he scanned me. “You’re… oh, God. It’s really you. My little girl.”
“Back up for a moment, cowboy, I’m not here for a family reunion.” I frowned, drumming on the table with my fingers. “I’m here to know why you’re in town. My last contact with you was eleven years ago, and that was on a voice call.”
“It was my granddaughter’s sixteenth birthday.” He excused, looking at me incredulously while his fingers played with his collar, and I locked on the mannerism immediately. “I had to visit, right? But this town’s so big, i-it’s hard to find anybody-”
“You’re lying.” Beau pointed out, expression unchanging. Cal turned to him with an outraged expression.
“Excuse me, young man?”
“Flattered, but I’m forty. Ain’t that young.”
“He’s right, Cal. You’re lying.” I frowned, my fingers still tapping out an insistent rhythm on the table. After all these years, he’d had a character arc going from scumbag to scumbag.
“Isabelle.” Cal gasped in disbelief. “Cupcake, you’ll believe this man over your father?”
“Not to be cheesy, but this man is one of the most noble men I know, so I’m sure I can trust him over a man who’s been out of my life for thirty seven years.” Cal was ready to convince me otherwise, but I held up my hand. “You’re fiddling with your collar. First sign of anxiety and possible lying. Big Sky is rather a small place, everyone knows everyone, so I don’t see how it would take you long to find me. Third, defensiveness. Trying to detach me from someone I trust- so tell me, how can I trust you?”
“You can’t.” He whispered, but his eyes, which I shared (to my disgust), looked into mine with a silent plea. Which I ignored.
“There it is. The one thing I couldn’t do and never did: trust you.” I scoffed, and Beau leaned forward, taking the lead.
“See here, Mr Joyner, you are Belle’s father, and I will respect you that much, but a lot’s happened that somehow coincides with your arrival.” He explained with a low, intimidating tone. I glanced towards him, taking in his set jaw and raised finger. “Now, you’re gonna tell your daughter why you came back after all this damn time or we’re gonna find out usin’ methods that you won’t approve of, ie hard questioning and digging into the evidence we have, which I bet will uncover some nasty secrets.”
“It’s good that you elaborated.”
“Yeah, it is. Now, Mr Joyner, you need to speak up before we find out ourselves.” Before Cal could reply, we heard a loud bang and a scuffle, and when my head turned, I saw Donno wrestling a guy with a gun to the ground. Beau turned to me, putting a hand on my shoulder. “Stay put.”
“You know I can’t do that.” I protested, reaching for my own holster, but he grabbed my wrist with a warning look. I wanted to argue, but I knew what he was insinuating. I wasn’t healed yet, so I couldn’t fight.
“Stay. Put.” He then pulled out his gun, holding it up at the assailant. “Sheriff’s department, hands where I can see ‘em!” My eyes were locked on him, ready to jump in and help if need be while Donno was growling at the man for almost pulling a gun on me. I saw Tonya getting up from her chair, pointing behind me with a gasp.
“Elle!” She cried out, looking terrified. “Behind you!” I whipped around only for my head to snap back around, the muzzle of a gun connecting with my temple. My vision went blurry as my head spun, but I could make out an unfamiliar figure in the haze that I instantly tackled blindly, collapsing onto the floor in an undignified heap coupled by what felt like a gigantic needle through the hole in my stomach. I coughed for a moment, my hand covering the area as I was roughly rolled onto my back amid the struggle between Donno, Beau and the assailant. I managed to make out the silver glint of a knife, so I quickly crossed my forearms over one another and held them over my face so I could catch it just in time.
After what was a struggle for a few seconds, the guy seemed to have a change of heart, throwing the knife aside and getting me in the temple again with a gloved fist this time.
Neither of them felt great.
I heard Cal protesting against something, and Beau’s shouts as the former was seemingly roughly dragged away, my vision going from blurry to borderline black as I tried to recall… what the guy looked like. I could remember… grey hair, possibly Mexican… or Hispanic… strong… build… 6’ 4”…
“Belle! Stay with me, damn it! This is Sheriff Arlen, I need paramedics and backup…”

“Fucking Beautiful,” Beau praised, and Y/N hummed happily around his cock as he trusts deep into her mouth and down her throat, causing her to gag slightly and for him to groan as her throat contracted around his swollen head.
“You like that don’t,” he continued, gripping her hair tightly, holding it back out of her face for her. “Choking on my cock like that.”
She hummed again and he groaned as his hips stammered before he pulled himself away from her harshly, and she whined at the loss.
“On your feet,” he growled as he stood sharply and kicked the chair out of the way.
She scrambled to her feet, and Beau roughly manhandled her around, before learning her over the desk and ripping her dress up to her waist and her panties to the side, rubbing his throbbing length against her dripping cunt, and she moaned pathetically as he grabbed a handful of her hair again, turning her face to the side.
“Want me to fuck you sweetheart, right here, on this desk, where anyone could walk in and see you stretched out all pretty and needy on my cock like this?” Beau questioned, and all she could do was moan in response as he slapped her ass hard enough to echo through the small office.
“Use your words baby girl,” he demanded, “or else I’m gonna leave you all wet and horny to go out there and finish the book, only one of us is gonna cum if you don’t learn to use your words, and it ain’t gonna be you.”
“Yes,” she squeaked as his fingers round her swollen clit, rubbing harshly before he slapped her pussy, sending a wet swatting sound throughout the room, and her pussy contracting and releasing around nothing.
“Excuse me? Yes, what? Where are your manners Darlin’?”
“Yes Sir,” she corrected, knowing exactly what he wanted to hear, and knowing he would absolutely send her back out there a mess without fucking her, and God, she needed him to fuck her.
“Good girl,” he growled, slamming his full length into her clinching heat in one swift thrust, his hand coming over to cover her mouth to stop the scream from echoing through the room as she damn near fell apart on just his intrusion. “Now, be a good girl and be quiet for me. It'd be a shame if we got caught in here.”

I thought of Beau Arlen when this song came across my playlist yesterday, so thought I’d pass it s as king in case it might inspire you. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/bTNLYeaL7No?si=oUk5owojOctRP_8i
(Songbird by Eva Cassidy)
Characters: Reader, Beau Arlen
Pairing: Beau Arlen x Reader
Warnings: fluff
Word count: 351
A/N: Hi! Here I'm answering a new request just as promised. I'm slowly answering every one of you, so don't worry if you don't get an answer immediately. I'm reading all of you and writing down everything while doing my best to fulfill your wishes. I had to admit that I wasn't a real fan of this song. It's not quite my genre, and I was worried I couldn't write anything down. Nonetheless, I managed to write something in the end; something I quite like, if I can say so myself. I'm just hoping you'll like it as well. Let me know what you think. ❤ All errors are mine.
Tumblr media
Y/N woke up with the chirp of songbirds, which was quite common when she stayed over and slept in a van in the middle of nature. That was happening a lot lately, which meant she was supposed to be used to that sound, and yet, she couldn’t help the groan that escaped from her lips. Y/N had to admit that those little birds were helpful during work days. She has never been so on time, something even her boss appreciated. Today, though, was Saturday, and all she wanted to do was sleep. Y/N nestled a bit more under the cover, trying to find the warmth and comfort of the body next to her. She shifted a bit more, but all she could find was cold. She turned around, noticing the empty spot beside her. Y/N frowned, getting up, begrudgingly grabbing the shirt on the nearby chair. She put it on, wrapping it around her middle as she could before walking towards the door. The chilly morning air hit her in the face as soon as she was out. On her right, sitting in one of the chairs with a cup of coffee was Beau. “Hey, sleepyhead.” He smiled at her, opening one of his arms in invitation. Y/N shortened the distance and went to sit in his lap. Beau welcomed her, hugging her with his arm and pulling her closer. “'Morning.” She whispered, nestling against his warmth. Her head found the space between his neck and shoulder to lay over. “Birds again?” he asked with a hint of a smile, kissing her forehead. “Those little –” Y/N stopped herself from swearing at the first ray of the sun. “Next Saturday, we’re staying at my place.” She stated matter of factly. “Uhm, I don’t know…” Beau started, unsure, making her sit straight to look at him better. She even raised one of her brows for good measure. “I mean, we’re in the middle of nature; can see the alba, breathing fresh air and –” “I’ll make you chocolate chip pancakes.” She cut him off. “Deal!” He answered right away, making her giggle.

Mr. Yeehaw
Tumblr media
Pairing: Partner reader x Beau Arlen
Warnings: None, Fluff!
A/n: Hope you like it!
•°•°•°•°•°•°•
“Howdy howdy, I'm Beau Arlen and I keep my office a mess, and have a great six-pack,” You say tipping your imaginary cowboy hat as you spin around in his office chair, the same chair he had said previously not to sit on. Cassie and Jenny snort in the corner of the office as they work on a case,
“How would you know that Y/n?” Jenny asks as she leans her head in her hands with a tiny grin
“What that he keeps his office a mess? Look around, Yeehaw is going to be on the 'Office Hoarders'” Jenny snickers as she shakes her head, “No, I meant how do you know he has a six-pack”
You Hadn't spotted the green-eyed man until he spoke “Yeah I'd like to know that too” Beau smirks
“Oh fuck!” the chair falls back, now you know why he said not to sit in it in the first place... Haha. The girls laugh as they leave the room, and Beau walks in helping you to your feet. “I told you not to sit there sweetheart”
Dusting off yourself and leaning against his desk, “Well I'm sorry Mr. Yeehaw”
Beau shakes his head, and as he was amused by the nickname you called him from day 1 he even thought he pretended to hate it. “Maybe you can be my Mrs. Yeehaw one day” He smirks and tilts his head with his charming smile.
Nearly giving yourself whiplash you lift your head, “Are you asking me on a date?”
He gives a little innocent shrug, “Uh-huh maybe I am, depends on if you'd accept it”
“Of course, I'd love to go out on a date with you, Mr. Yeehaw” You tilt your imagery hat.

Midnight Mischief
Tumblr media
Pairing: Beau Arlen x F!Reader
Summary: Leaving Cassie’s Halloween party, the way home leads to a thrilling detour under the moonlight for Sheriff Arlen.
Warnings: +18, some Halloween shenanigans, fluff, smut (p in v, dirty talk, semi-public)
Word Count: 2.7k
A/N: Little something for Halloween I wrote a few weeks ago to feed my shameless obsession with this man (and keep my excitement for Taylor’s album in check. The Cinderella thing was a happy accident 👀). Enjoy and happy Halloween, my loves! 💜👻🖤🎃
Main Masterlist || More Beau?
Tumblr media
“Y/N, wait!”
The cold October wind rustles the red, orange, and golden leaves on the sidewalk, the freezing breeze brushing his skin and stinging his freckle-dusted cheeks and nose until they blush crimson. As Beau halts in the middle of the sidewalk and desperately catches his breath on his knees, the air vaporizes in little clouds of mist as it leaves his hot lungs.
Straightening up and placing his hands on his hips, his green eyes roam the chaotic crowd of adults and children in costumes that surround him, strolling through the neighborhood on their annual trick-or-treating adventure as he looks for the lively woman in a red cape that shamelessly stole his heart. His gaze drifts to the sky, where the full moon stands high, accompanied by a few gray clouds that cover the pale yellow light. They left the party shortly after the clock struck twelve, his date fleeing like Cinderella into the midnight’s shadows.
“BOOOOO!”
Beau startles and almost topples to the pavement when his girlfriend jumps out behind a row of hedges and wraps her arms like a spider around his body. The sweet laughter that reaches his ears is the best sound he’s ever heard in the entire world. If his life had its own movie soundtrack, Y/N’s happy laugh would be the first track without contest. The second track, though, would be her little moans whenever he makes her come, no matter if it’s on his fingers, tongue, or dick. Naturally, that’s his second favorite sound.
“Jesus Christ, Y/N,” he chuckles and runs a palm over his face to hide the temporary shock and embarrassment of her little sneak attack before dipping his head and claiming her lush lips. His tongue catches hints of apple cider and the bourbon they shared earlier at Cassie’s Halloween party as he drinks the taste from her mouth like a parched man. “You’re gonna give me a heart attack, darlin’.”
She giggles, her dimples a blush pink from the cold and the mischief. “You scare pretty easy for someone working in law enforcement,” she teases him and lifts an eyebrow, scanning his tall frame, “I can’t believe you wore your uniform to the party. You know, that doesn’t technically count as a costume.”
“Why not? I’m going as a sheriff,” he quips with a grin and slings his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to his chest to keep her warm as they continue their stroll home.
“Exactly. That doesn’t count. You’re always the sheriff,” she laughs, pulling her scarlet hood a little more over her head to protect her freezing ears.
“Well, it wouldn’t have mattered. As soon as you revealed that Red Riding Hood costume, no one was looking at me anymore, anyways,” Beau smirks smugly, his juniper orbs twinkling with pride, mischief, and lust as he inconspicuously ogles the swell of her breasts in his periphery, the smooth flesh slightly spilling out of her dress.
Her cheeks blush, but this time it’s not caused by the winter cold. Y/N pulls her lower lip between her teeth and chews flirtatiously on it, “Yeah? You like it?”
Beau lets out a low chuckle, the timbre of his voice rumbling in his chest as he stops and leans closer to her, his hot breath warming the shell of her ear when he whispers, “Oh, the big, bad wolf will show you how much he loved it once we’re home, darlin’.”
Her arms wind around his neck, letting her weight comfortably hang from his broad shoulders as she tiptoes up to his eye level. Y/N then playfully contemplates and grins broadly, “Hmmm, but why wait? A lot can happen in the woods.”
With that, she plants a wet kiss on his lips and grabs his hand, his fingers interlocking with hers as she leads him further down the street at a hurried pace. Beau doesn’t care where she takes him. As soon as he laid eyes on that girl the second they met, he knew he’d follow her anywhere, no matter where – no questions asked.
Well, some questions asked.
“Y/N, uhm, where are-… what are you-…” Leading him to the last house on the street that borders a small forest, she stops right next to a prohibitive sign that’s supposed to fend off trespassers and daringly opens the creaking wooden gate that leads to the backyard. “Y/N, this is private property. We can’t just trespass.”
“Oh my God, you’re such a goody-two-shoes,” Y/N snorts, laughing wholeheartedly, her hood sliding off her head as it dips back. Her teeth hold back her bottom lip, hiding the giant grin behind it as she defiantly steps backward into the front yard. “C’mon, baby, don’t be a chicken. Break the law a little with me,” she wiggles her eyebrows, smirking, and then loosens the ties around her ruby-red hood, the fabric leaving her shoulders and gliding to the wilted grass underneath her boots.
His heart thumps harder in his ribcage, hot blood pumping through his veins and warming his skin despite the freezing cold as his eyes rake over her perfect curves. Beau thought it was impossible to sweat in this weather, but now he knows that truly anything is possible as long as he’s with her. His pine-green orbs watch as she hops into the grown-over garden and disappears in the midnight darkness behind the building, her hips seductively swaying with every chipper step.
The home looks abandoned, rotten wood boards nailed across the windows without a single light source inside, tall grass and wild weeds reaching his knees. There’s an audible bang as the wind eerily slams a brittle window shutter, causing several shudders to run down his spine and form goosebumps on his skin.
Y/N loves to tease her boyfriend whenever she can. Beau is like a little treasure chest full of charm, happiness, and sweetness, and while his happy-go-lucky attitude fools most people, it never fools her. She knows he constantly worries about everything – but especially when he tries to hide it from her. While Beau might talk about his punch list openly, there’s an even bigger list he carries around in secret – his care list. Because Beau loves nothing more than to worry about all the things he cares with his heart and soul about – his job, his deputies, his friends, his daughter, and now even her. Y/N can see it in the brief moments when his smile falters for the shortest second, when his Adam’s apple bobs with concern whenever he assumes no one is looking, or when the usually talkative sheriff only offers one-word replies. While he would never admit to it and always brushes any worries of hers away, she still knows precisely when he’s anxious.
And this particular night, the protective father in him is worried because Emily is attending her first Halloween party, so Y/N has taken it upon herself to distract her boyfriend’s mind as best as she can. Nudity has always been the biggest selling point so far, and she knows it won’t fail her tonight, either.
Waiting patiently for him behind the house under a big oak tree, Beau soon rounds the corner with a curiously arched eyebrow, not able to resist her challenge as he plants his bow legs in front of her. “You little minx,” he smiles, happy wrinkles visible around his emerald orbs, and pecks her lips lovingly, their fingers interlacing. “You know, we could get arrested if someone catches us.”
“Starting with the dirty talk already, huh?” Y/N knows no one in this town will arrest them. One, the house has been empty since she was a child, the owners living in Nebraska now and not having visited their property in over a decade. And two, even if someone catches them, no one would care because the couple is beloved by everyone in town. So, the only thing Beau truly needs to fear is the endless teasing by Poppernak and Jenny if they do find him trespassing with his pants down, which is still a highly unlikely scenario.
Beau chuckles softly, shaking his head, “Your clean record really surprises me every time, darlin’.”
“Honestly, me too,” she grins slyly, her arms locking around his neck as she claims his plump lips, catching scents of caramel, apple, cinnamon, and chocolate. Beau always had a sweet tooth, so she wasn’t surprised when he loaded up on Denise’s spooky cookie selection throughout the night until he was close to puking. “Guess I’m good at getting out of things… or was it into things?” she muses in mock, her hand trailing down his broad chest until it reaches his slacks and palms his half-hard dick through the fabric. The longer she rubs his solid length and feels his weight and firmness in her palm, the more arousal pools between her aching thighs in anticipation.
“Shit,” Beau mutters as he loses his bearings. Y/N grins in triumph. Making a strong, proud, and tall guy like him crumble and lose his posture repeatedly might have become her favorite pastime activity since they started dating.
Surrendering, he catches her scarlet lips, his hat falling to the ground as he devours her mouth, tongue breaching inside with urgency and dancing with hers for dominance. His palms wander down to the globes of her ass and squeeze the juicy flesh over her skirt before he lifts her into his strong arms, her legs reflexively wrapping around his waist. Pressing her body firmly against the trunk of the big oak, he ceases his attack on her kiss-swollen, red-painted lips, breaths leaving their lungs in a ragged rhythm. “Alright, you win. But it’s gonna be a quickie. You’ll get your bad girl treatment once we actually make it home, baby girl.”
Knowingly, Y/N lets out an amused laugh, “Scared the neighbors will hear the slapping?”
“You bet your ass,” Beau chuckles with a smug wag of his eyebrows, the sound of his laugh so sweet and velvety it warms her heart as if someone poured a glass of milk and honey over it. His hand tenderly brushes a few rogue strands of hair behind her ear, his green eyes piercing into her soul and causing her to shudder as he looks at her intensely. “I love you… with everything I got, which I know isn’t a lot.”
Y/N smiles softly and pecks the tip of his freckled nose, her arms around his neck tightly holding onto him, chained for eternity. “Are you kidding me? I love you so goddamn much… And I love everything you give me, which is plenty, by the way. You’re all I ever wanted. It’s like someone built you just for me, y’know?”
The corners of his mouth curve up into a smile that matches hers, “Yeah, I feel the same about you, darlin’.” He kisses her lips, nibbles on the bottom one and sucks it between his teeth before placing more wet kisses down her jaw and throat until tongue and lips reach her pulse point, the gruff beard deliciously scratching her sensitive skin. “I can’t tell you how many times a day I think about this perfectly tight pussy of yours either, sweetheart. How wet are you already for me, hm?”
Dear fucking God…
Beau is much like a bear in some regard because he’s the sweetest and cuddliest man she’s ever met until she wakes him from his hibernation. Then, he will just ferociously follow the luring scent of his honey pot and take what’s his, not leaving a single drop for anyone else. Not even bear spray could get him off her now.
“Soaking, baby,” she mewls and grinds her crotch against his throbbing erection, imagining how his tip is already swollen and dripping precum for her, his salty taste always causing her to drool. “Please fuck me now. Wanna feel that thick, long cock fuck me hard and deep.”
Beau growls wantonly against her skin, his face buried in the crook of her neck, the vibrations causing the ache between her thighs to yearn for more friction. Their limbs then entangle in a frenzy, trying to shed all annoying barriers of clothing that block their treasure while still attempting to keep enough on to protect them from the freezing temperatures. The sheriff manages to free his massive cock, pants and boxers pooling by his boots as he quickly fists his length. Y/N has it a little easier, only wearing a dress and a pair of over-knee stockings, and simply pushes her black lace panties out of the way with her fingers, their bodies pushed flush against each other to keep them as warm as possible.
It’s so incredibly cold that Beau is even a little worried the solidity of his dick might suffer, but those worries are soon hushed when he enters her cozy heat, her hot cunt keeping him warm like a chimney fire. Threading his cock through her slick, the tip catches her wet and waiting entrance before he swiftly slides inside until he’s buried at the deepest spot of her pussy. Grunts, gasps, and whisper-quiet expletives are picked up by the wind and carried around the quaint garden as he fucks her relentlessly.
“Oh God… So good, baby. You always fuck me so good… always know how to take care of me,” she pants deliriously as he splits her almost in two. The stretch of his length forces her fingers to weave into his blond locks and tug on the strands until he groans against her skin. His teeth tear into her ample bottom lip in response, aware how much he loves the bits of pain in his pleasure as her fingernails scrape his scalp. “Fuck, I love that cock of yours. Every inch of you fills every inch of me, baby.”
“Shit, Y/N,” he mutters and hungrily claims her lips, his hips bucking at a faster pace and making each rough and deep thrust deliciously harder, the tight grip on her body leaving finger-shaped bruises on her delicate skin in their wake. “That filthy mouth is gonna make me bust, baby girl.”
“Don’t care. Right behind you,” she moans, her back arching against the tree trunk and scratching on the rough surface. “Might wanna cover my mouth if you’re still worried about the neighbors. Feels like a big one,” she croaks out with a panting smirk and manages to bite down on her tongue herself till she tastes bits of copper, her walls tightening around his hard cock as her orgasm threatens to spill.
“Nah, fuck ‘em. Better make sure the town knows you’re all mine, darlin’,” Beau grunts into her neck, a devilish smirk forming against her skin as he roughly kneads one tit and adjusts his angle to push even deeper. “Want you to soak my cock in your juices. Make him wet, sweetheart. Wanna feel that cunt tremble around me.”
“Oh God, Beau! Fuck, baby,” she moans loudly as she falls over the cliff into a sea of bliss, her climax rippling through every inch of her body and flooding her veins with mountains of oxytocin as she tightly holds onto him.
Beau quiets her moans with a few needy kisses, licking her sweet taste from her mouth. Four stuttering slams of his hips are all it takes until he shoots hot ropes of cum into her leaking pussy, painting her confines a creamy white as he stiffens between her thighs and lets his forehead fall against hers, a primal and deep grunt escaping his dry throat.
Y/N softly wakes him from his daze by nudging his nose with hers, a broad smile molding into shape on her pink lips. “See? Breaking the law isn’t always bad.”
Beau snorts, chuckling, and tenderly caresses the rose-colored apples of her cheeks with his thumb. “Uh-huh, I’ll remember that one for the Christmas speech this year. Luckily, there wasn’t a ‘no trespassing’ sign on you, darlin’.”
“Oh, there will never be one when it comes to you, Sheriff Arlen,” she grins cheekily and tastes his mouth one last time before the pair finally embarks on their journey home.

Wait Till I Get Home
Requested by Anon: Could you do a fic where the reader teases beau by sending sexy pictures while he is at work and says whatcha gonna do about it now lol and he shows her how it’s going to be please
I hope this is ok for you 😊
(Beau Arlen x You)
Y/n gets bored whilst Beau is at work, that is until she decides to send some not so innocent texts to Beau 😜
Warnings: contains smut 🔥 and fluff 🥰
Minors DO NOT INTERACT‼️🔞
Tumblr media
Y/n stared at the clock, bored out of her mind as she lounged on the couch. Beau was at work, and she had the whole house to herself. A mischievous grin crept across her face as an idea formed in her mind. Why not have a bit of fun and spice up Beau's day at work?
She quickly got up and headed to the bedroom. After a few minutes of rummaging through her wardrobe, she found the perfect outfit - a sultry black lace lingerie set that she knew Beau would love. Y/n pulled out her phone, set the timer, and struck a pose in front of the mirror. Click. The first saucy photo was taken. She changed her pose Click, the second picture was taken. Y/n carried on till she had a decent amount of photos to send and tease Beau with.
She scrolled through the photos, selecting the ones that she deemed the steamiest. With each click, her confidence grew, and she felt exhilarated by the idea of surprising Beau with these daring photos. Y/n knew she was pushing the boundaries a bit, but she also knew that Beau wouldn't be able to resist.
After selecting the best shots, Y/n attached them to a message for Beau. She added a teasing caption to accompany the photos and hit send. As soon as the messages were delivered, Y/n felt a rush of excitement and nerves. She couldn't wait to see Beau's reaction.
Meanwhile, Beau sat at his desk, buried in work. His phone buzzed, indicating a new message. Curious, he picked it up and unlocked the screen. His eyes widened in surprise as he saw the photos that Y/n had sent. Beau's heart raced, and a smirk tugged at his lips.
He quickly composed himself, realizing that he couldn't let Y/n have all the fun. Without missing a beat, Beau typed out a reply, matching Y/n's boldness with his own saucy message. The playful banter between them escalated, each message more daring than the last.
As the day went on, the exchange between Y/n and Beau became hotter and hotter. His last message sent a shiver down her spine "Wait till I get home darlin'! 😏"
By the time Beau arrived home, the tension between them was palpable. Y/n was there waiting for him, still wearing the black lace underwear from the photos she sent him.
"Wow, what's gotten into you?" Beau asked, his eyes wide with surprise and desire. Y/n simply shrugged innocently, pretending she had no idea what he was talking about. But the sly glint in her eyes betrayed her.
Unable to resist any longer, Beau closed the distance between them and pulled Y/n into a heated kiss. The spark between them ignited, fuelled by the anticipation and desire that had been building all day. Y/n's plan had worked perfectly. Beau couldn't keep his hands off her, his touch setting her skin on fire.
Beau pulled away from the kiss only to fling Y/n over his shoulder. Y/n let out a small yelp "Beau, put me down" he slapped her ass making her yelp again. "oh no darlin, i told you you were going to pay for sending those photos". Beau dropped her at the foot of the bed, slowly removing his jacket that he had yet to take off. A nervous feeling was rising in y/n stomach. she had never seen Beau like this before, the lust in his eyes, the darkness that took over him.
He dropped down to his knees in front of her, his hands slowly creeping up her thighs with feather light touches. Her skin trembling with anticipation. He looked at her with complete dominance "I need you to lay down for me sweetheart" he said in that deep husky voice that drove her wild. She did as she was told, moving further up the bed to get comfortable. Beau painfully ran his hands up her thighs to pull at her now soaked panties "damn darlin, your soaked already, I've barely touched you". He pulled them down her legs as he stared at her dripping core.
The light kisses he was leaving on her thighs was making her squirm already. She was getting nervous and excited at the same time. Her hands fisted the sheets as he made contact with her throbbing clit, his tongue swirling, his teeth nipping, his lips sucking. Her head falling back further into the pillow as the sensation of his actions took over. Her moans spurring him on, he inserted a finger. Her gasp telling him he had found the right spot, he inserted another finger curling it upwards. Beau wasn't wasting any time, she has plagued him all day with those pictures. He could feel her walls starting to pulsate around his fingers, an evil thought came to his mind.
Just as she was about to climax he stopped. Y/n looked up in shock. Beau had never denied her before. "Thats for teasing me with those saucy photos y/n, I told you I'd make you pay" he said as he looked at her with the biggest smirk on his face. Y/n sat up in a huff, all riled up. Beau couldn't keep a straight face "don't worry sweetheart, the nights not over yet". The blush that crept up y/n cheeks was undeniable.
Beau stripped out of his trousers and shirt. Y/n sat up on the bed admiring the man she fell in love with. He approached her caressing her cheek lightly "your so god damn beautiful". She could never get use to him complimenting her.
He kissed her deeply as he pushed her down, caging her underneath him. He had shimmied his boxers of as he kissed her. "you know I wanted to punish you for making me blush at work, but I just can't do it. I wanna take my time with you, savour every touch, every kiss, your beautiful moans" with that said he sheathed himself inside her. Her eyes rolling at the feeling of him filling her completely.
He got lost in the way he felt against her warmth, the way her face contorted with pleasure, the way he could tell she was getting close. With each delicious drag in and out of her, Beau thought he had died and gone to heaven. "Beau, go faster, please" she asked him. He crashed his lips onto hers as he picked up the pace, both of them becoming breathless. Her walls pulsating, his cock was throbbing. He knew she was close but it felt like she was holding back "come for me darlin" she placed a hand on his cheek "together" she replied.
They came hard, and together. Beau couldn't quite believe it happened. It was the most euphoric feeling he had ever had. He collapsed to the side of y/n, both trying to get their breathing under control.
As they lay tangled together in the aftermath, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Boredom had turned into excitement, and she knew that their love was as fiery and intense as ever. "I love you Sheriff Beau Arlen" he grasped her hand bringing it to his lips "I love you Y/n L/n, Always".

Hey, Zep! Here’s a hard question: which fic did you enjoy the most when writing?
Hey there, lovely!
Ooh, that's super freakin' tough. I've written quite a lot, and I have many "favorites" for different reasons. Like I answered another anon earlier today, I absolutely loved writing Smoke Eater, for example, but it did get difficult for me at times due to the complexity of the story and sometimes the gravity of the subject matter.
That said, I'll give you a short list of my favorites (series):
3. Take Me Home (Beau Arlen x Reader)
Tumblr media
Ah, the Big Sky fandom! This is the most recent series I've written, and I've had so much fun with it as I continued to learn Beau's character and navigate season 3 of the show, trying to fill in the blanks that the show left behind while adding my own spin to certain things.
Beau is my favorite cowboy sheriff, but he's not without his flaws, which made for a rich exploration of his character. ❤️
2. Midnight Espresso (Dean Winchester x Plus-Sized/Latina Reader)
Tumblr media
This is a collection of stories in the SPN fandom, and it's very personal to me! (I myself am both plus-sized and Latina.) Though I tried to make it so all readers, regardless of race/ethnicity or otherwise, could enjoy those stories as well.
It gave me the chance to pair Dean with a reader character who is also a giver like him, who looks out for and cares for him in the same way he cares for others, all while being a badass hunter herself.
From dramatic and angsty hurt/comfort to fluffy smut, I've tried to explore many facets of their relationship, while utilizing both my heritage/culture and my personal experience with body insecurity, body shaming, etc. 💜
1. Break Me Down (Soldier Boy x Reader)
Tumblr media
People probably know me best for this series. It was my first real foray into the complex, lovable asshole known as Soldier Boy (Ben).
And it was my attempt at creating a redemption arc for him through an "enemies to lovers" story, edgier than anything I'd done previously, thanks to the grittiness of The Boys world.
I've continued writing far past the original series because I just can't quit these two, and this version of Ben. (In fact, a new one-shot is coming for the BMD-verse on Friday called Calculated Risks, followed by a mini series in May! 💚)
And there are even more BMD requests in my inbox for when I'm able to get to requests again. So as long as people keep wanting to read about them, I'll keep writing about them! 😂
Thank you very much for this question! It was very difficult to choose. If you'd asked me which "one-shots/imagines" were my favorites, that would've been even harder to narrow down. 😅

The Fix - Part 1
Summary: Everyone has a past, but yours seemed to haunt you. You've tried to move forward with a normal life, but the day comes when that's not possible anymore. When Sheriff Beau Arlen enters your life, you're certain he is going to judge you just like everyone else in town does. But something about Beau is different.
Pairing: Beau Arlen x Female Reader (Reader has a daughter in this story; also--slow-ish burn)
Warnings: Brief mention of child abduction, very brief mention of domestic violence (non-descriptive), slow burn
Word Count: ~1.5k (This is meant to be a little shorter, but it will pick up as we get into the story!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sun had started to settle just behind the Montana mountains as you took a sip from the steaming cup of tea in your hands. The warmth from the cup sent a pleasant shudder over you as you took a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet. The sound of tires upon your gravel drive interrupted the silence and made you inwardly groan. You recognized the truck almost instantly.
You stayed planted on your rocking chair, but offered a small smile as he opened the car door.
“Sheriff,” you greeted blandly. While you would never admit it out loud, your heart couldn’t help but flutter when you were graced with Sheriff Beau Arlen’s presence. The man looked like he belonged on the cover of GQ, for God’s sake. But you knew better than that.
“How’s it goin’, ma’am?” And then there was that sweet, sexy Texas drawl. God, you loved Texan men. But you’d do everything in your power to not let him know that.
“Well, it was going well, ‘til I heard that truck pull up,” your lips were tightened in a straight line and eyebrows raised in his direction.
He chuckled softly as he put his hands in his front denim pockets. “I hear ya,” he sighed. After a moment, he continued. “Where’s he at, darlin’?” He somehow managed a sympathetic look, but you couldn’t help but feel like it was covered in pity. He felt bad for you—hell, this whole town did. You heard the rumblings while you were out; you knew everyone and their mama knew your story, and you hated it.
“Contrary to popular belief, I don’t keep a tracking device on my ex-husband,” you sighed. “I haven’t seen him since we all went to court three months ago. That’s a promise, Sheriff.”
He nodded as he glanced around your property. You weren’t sure if he was looking for something suspicious to accuse you of not being honest, or if he was looking to make sure you were safe.
“I believe you,” he reassured. “I know I don’t have to tell you, but he’s dangerous. He’s gone off the deep end now that the FBI is lookin’ for him, too.” His green gaze was back on you again.
“Like you said, you don’t have to tell me,” your stomach churned as you processed his words. You knew now that your ex-husband was on the run, there wasn’t much he wouldn’t do to cover his own ass. “I was married to him, remember?”
“I know,” he tried to appease. “You still have my number?”
“On speed dial,” you nodded as you used your feet to rock on the chair.
“If you see him, you use it. Got it?” His eyes bore into you in a way that made your heart flutter again. You tried to swallow the feeling away.
“Yes, sir,” you nodded once more.
“Good,” he said, his boots crunched against the gravel again as he headed back to his truck. As he opened the door, he looked back at you with a smile. “And how many times I gotta tell you, darlin’? Beau’s just fine. You have a good night, now.” He tipped his hat at you.
You hoped between the glow of the setting sun and the distance between you, he couldn’t see the rosy blush that crept up your neck into your cheeks.
“Night, Beau,” you called back. You didn’t miss the way his smile grew as he climbed into the truck.

Mondays were the worst. The weekends just never seemed long enough. And now that the temperatures were cooling off for autumn, it made it a hundred times harder to get yourself out of bed. This morning felt more like the start of winter—a bitter 39 degrees outside. But you had gotten up because you had to, and practically had to drag your 5-year-old daughter out from the comfort of her bed as well.
The day had crawled by. Working in real estate was something you loved, as it allowed you way more flexibility and the opportunity to be a mom and still provide for your small family of two. But with winter approaching rapidly, things had slowed down at work. Everyone was settled and planning to wait out the brutal Montana winter, so your days felt even longer.
You watched the children find their parents’ cars in the car line and tapped your manicured finger against the steering wheel of your 1996 Ford Bronco.
There was an uncertainty that crept over you as you watched for your daughter—the lavender colored puffy coat you had put her in that morning, the jeans with a daisy patch she had begged you to sew on. But she wasn’t there. Fewer and fewer students exited the building until the trickle stopped.
You moved your truck into a parking spot and shifted the gear into park. The feeling of your heart pounding in your chest made you want to vomit, but you pushed it aside. Between the cold air and the tears that had already settled, your eyes burned as your feet carried you to the sidewalk where you spotted her teacher.
“Ms. Lang,” you called out to her as your steps quickly approached. She turned to you with a wide smile across her face.
“Oh, hi! How are you?” She smiled. “Bailey’s mom, right?”
“Yes,” you nodded with a breath. “Where is she?” The words sounded frantic, but you couldn’t help it. Your mind had traveled to the worst possible scenario, even though you hoped reality was that she had just gotten caught up with something in the classroom, or maybe had needed a bathroom break.
Ms. Lang’s smile fell and her eyes widened slightly. “Her Uncle picked her up from school early, he said she had a dentist appointment.”
With her words, you felt your heart begin to sink–down your chest, through your ribcage until it crumbled in the pit of your stomach. “H-her Uncle?” As you stuttered, you realized your mouth had run dry.
“Yes,” Ms. Lang waved you on to follow her as she walked towards the reception area of the elementary school. The both of you moved quickly around the remaining students waiting for their parents to pick them up. “Her Uncle Shawn. He was on the approved sign-out list.” She pulled open the glass door to the secretary’s office and waved you on ahead of her, but you were frozen in place. It felt like the oxygen had been sucked out of your lungs. Ms. Lang looked at you, unsure why you weren’t moving.
“My brother, Shawn, has been in Pennsylvania for the last two weeks...he's not in town,” you barely whispered.
Ms. Lang looked to the secretary as fear bubbled into her voice. “Call 911.”
Tumblr media
There were multiple police officers in the lobby now. All of them had the same questions: what was your daughter wearing, her age, was there anyone that may want to harm her. You knew your ex-husband was considered dangerous, and you knew that better than anyone. But you never thought he would hurt your daughter. He wasn’t able to see her anymore, ever since he had become a fugitive. Prior to his conviction, he still could only have supervised visitation, which he hated. But harm her? Even though he had harmed you, you would never believe he would hurt her. But then your therapist had gently reminded you that you were broken and bruised, and he was unhinged. You didn’t know what to think anymore.
“Ma’am?” A young female officer approached you gently. “Your husband—“
“Ex-husband,” you cut her off quickly.
“I’m sorry,” she paused and corrected herself. “Your ex-husband fits the description of the man who picked up your daughter. The school followed protocol—he had a fake license that had your brother’s name on it.” You had figured as much.
“Jackson’s a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them,” you muttered as your eyes blurred for what felt like the hundredth time today. You picked at a loose string on the edge of your denim jacket. It wasn’t nearly warm enough, but you hadn’t planned to be outside for long.
“Because he’s a fugitive and wanted by the FBI, we’ve been asked to pass them the case,” she spoke gently. You should've known as much, but your head jerked up to look at her. She gave you a sympathetic smile—one you had seen from almost every damn local these last few months—and put a hand on your shoulder. “I promise they’ll do everything they can. The whole state will be on alert looking for your daughter.”
Her words didn’t bring you much comfort. You had gotten to a point in your life where you didn’t trust many people. The FBI hadn’t been able to find your ex-husband all this time, so how could you possibly have hope they would find him now?
As the officer walked away and people began to disperse, you grabbed your cell phone. You didn’t know what else to do, so you pressed the contact you had never dialed before.
It rang twice before you heard his southern drawl. “Sheriff Beau Arlen,” he answered gruffly.
“Sheriff?” You meant to sound strong, but the emotion had made its way to your voice. “Jackson took her…he took Bailey.”
Tumblr media
Alright, so, I haven't written anything outside of the Supernatural fandom in a very long time (we're talking like, 10+ years). But I've had this idea poking my brain for the last two-ish weeks or so, and finally decided to write it out. I would be forever grateful if you let me know if you loved it or hated it. I'm new to Beau Arlen, so not sure if I am capturing his ~essence~. Thanks for taking the time to read!
New installments will be posted on Wednesdays and Saturdays!
A preview of the next chapter:
Beau had met you at the entryway of the elementary school within minutes, concern etched across his face in the way of worry lines that likely matched yours.
“You alright, darlin’?” He asked gently as he approached with a tentative hand on your shoulder blade.
Under the weight of his hand, you felt the ultimate collapse. Everything tumbled out of you in a way you didn’t expect (nor did he, by the look on his face). But either way, he used that hand to pull you flush against his chest and wrapped his other arm around your waist. He held you as you sobbed into the lapel of his brown jacket. The material was cool from the bitter wind just outside the door.
“It’s gonna be alright,” he coaxed softly with his mouth close to your ear. “We’re gonna get her back.” You tried to nod and speak, but only shaky breaths came out. Beau pulled you to his side and stepped forward towards one of the agents. “Beau Arlen, Sheriff,” he put his hand out to greet the agent.

Beau didn't say anything. He didn't say anything as he drove back home and didn't say anything as he led her inside her house and made her sit down on the couch of the living room. The same couch on which she had fucked Dean.
There were ten minutes of silence between them, in which Lizzie ate herself up in guilt and shame, embarrassed with what she had done.
"Lizzie," he spoke slowly.
She braced herself for him to yell and accuse her, but Beau didn't look any accusatory.
"What happened?"
She looked away from him.
"We were watching TV," she told him. "Drinking and talking... and then we were kissing. And making out. And... you know. It escalated."
He stared at her in shock, kneeling in front of her, and took her hand in his as he looked into her eyes.
"Did Dean force you into anything?" he asked. "Did he imply that you had to sleep with him for you to stay here?"
What? No!
"No! He would never do that!" she argued.
Dean was a good person!
"Uncle Beau, I promise, it was..." she bit her lips nervously and then felt her shoulders falling in shame. "It was my fault. I pushed him."
Beau frowned.
"I was feeling so lonely, and Dean was right there," she rambled. "And he was sweet, and he is hot, and I thought he would be the perfect guy to lose my virginity to, and he didn't mind!"
He stared at her with wide eyes.
"What?"
"And he offered to stop, but I said please!" she told him. "I asked him and he was nice, and he even got me plan b!"
"You're a virgin?" he repeated. "You were a virgin?"
She nodded, and he breathed in slowly.
"How did it happen?"
It took Lizzie a minute to figure what he was asking.
"Hm?"
"How did it happen?" he repeated.
She stopped, swallowing down a bit.
"I..." she looked for words. "We... were on the couch. And we undressed. And we tried to be quiet."
Beau nodded with her, licking his lips and she squirmed.
"And he fingered me," she whispered. "And... hm... put his mouth. You know. There."
Lizzie covered her face with her hands, embarrassed.
"God, on our couch?" he asked suddenly, looking at it with disgust. "Fucking Dean. You shouldn't have had your first time on this couch! I don't even remember the last time we washed it!"
"Oh, it's alright," she tried to reassure him. "I promise, Uncle Beau."
Beau covered his face with his hand, shaking his head a little.
"Did he give you an orgasm?" he asked suddenly.
She looked up at his face, surprised.
"What?"
"Please, sweetie," he looked at her. "Tell me you at least came."
She continued to stare at him.
"Why are you asking me that?" she asked, instead.
"If my stupid brother was so inconsiderate as to not give you a bed to lay in while losing your virginity, the least he could have done was make you cum, Lizzie."
"Uncle Beau, I-"
He sat down on the couch and reached for her, cradling her cheek.
"Lizzie, you are a good girl. A wonderful girl. You deserve such good things, I wish... I wish I could have given them to you."
Her breath stuttered.
Oh.
So that was why he was so angry?
He wanted to be in Dean's place.
Lizzie leaned closer to his touch and rested a hand on his knee.
"Why don't you show me?"
He hesitated, looking conflicted, and she rubbed her nose over his.
"Show me, uncle Beau?" she pleaded softly.
It was Lizzie who kissed him first, but Uncle Beau was very quick to make it deeper, pulling her right to his lap, sitting her on him with her legs spread.
Beau moved his hands up her thighs, caressing them.
"Do you know how long I've wanted to touch you?" he squeezed her. "How long I've wanted to kiss you, pretty girl? Lift that little sundress and eat out your pussy?"
Her face burned at the declaration, and gasped when he picked her up, starting to walk.
"You've become such a beautiful woman," he squeezed her waist, walking up the stairs. "All I could think about is that you deserve to be with someone who could take care of you. Make you feel good."
Her heart rushed as her face burned, flustered at his sweet words.
When did anyone ever want to take care of her after mum died?
Everyone wanted to fix her, to fit her somewhere and call the job done.
Beau laid her on the bed, moving back to close and lock the door, and she used the moment to take off her dress, thankful that she had put on her best bra, a lacy one, though it wasn't even intentional.
"God," he sighed, stopping in front of her. "You are so beautiful."
Lizzie bit her lower lip and moved her hand to her back, taking her bra off and tossing it away under his eyes, and did the same to her panties.
Beau swallowed down as he watched her, and she waited for him to come to her.
Instead, though, he moved his hand to his clothes, taking her off quickly, not even caring about where they went as he undressed.
He was beautiful.
A little different from Dean. Dean had a few scars on his torso that Lizzie didn't quite know the origin and Beau grew a little more hair on his chest, groomed but still natural.
She sat up and he was quick to kiss her lips again, making her stand, and he held her hips when she pulled away.
"I want you to sit on my face," he whispered.
Lizzie's eyes widened.
He what now?
Beau laid down on the bed and pulled her by the hand.
"Come here, sweetheart."
She sat on his stomach, instead.
"Uncle Beau, I don't know-"
"It's alright, baby," he moved his hand up to her chest, caressing her nipples. "Let me make you feel good. Please?"
Lizzie hesitated, looking at her thighs. They were pretty big.
She was pretty heavy.
"Don't worry," he winked at her, grinning largely. "I'm a strong man."
She couldn't say no.
So, she let Beau lift her up and pull her up.
She gasped and moaned when he reached for her, licking across her entrance and then her clit.
She gasped and moaned when he reached for her, licking across her entrance and then her clit.
"Beau!"
He ate her out like a man starved, devouring her, exploring her folds, rubbing against her entrance and yet not pushing into her, playing with her clit, sucking on it sweetly.
"Beau, beau, beau-" she cried, gripping his hair, trying to push his face deeper into her cunt.
Fuck, this was maddening. Mind shattering.
"Please," she cried, though not knowing what for.
His hand held her in a bruising grip, and Lizzie cried out when she came, quivering as he licked her clean.
He didn't stop, licking and licking as she moaned and squirmed, and Lizzie gasped when he pressed his fingers against her entrance.
"Gotta prep you well," he spoke against her. "Make sure you can take my cock, sweet girl."
She squirmed, whining.
Lizzie had taken Dean's cock, hadn't she? Why did he have to tease her? she could take his cock too!
"Please, Beau," she begged. "Want your cock, please. I can take it, I promise."
But he didn't move, holding her in place, and Lizzie was the one who had to take control.
She lifted herself from his face, fighting his hands when he tried to get get back, and sat on his thighs, taking his cock in her hand and slowly massaging it.
Up and down, like she'd seen guys do it in porn, not squeezing too much but still trying to be firm.
"I want you inside me, uncle Beau," she looked into his eyes. "Please?"
He straight-up throbbed in her hand, maybe in the same way her pussy would squeeze around nothing when she needed something inside her.
Beau's face was covered with her juices.
He squinted at her, a little peeved, as if he was ready to punish her.
"Please," she pouted, insisting. "I need you."
He chuckled, relaxing.
"Those damn lips..." he purred, sitting up as she continued to stroke his cock.
It almost distracted her when he kissed her, but Lizzie tried to keep herself focused so he wouldn't win.
She shifted her hips, pulling the head of his cock against her entrance, and whimpered at the stretch when she felt it.
"You can do it, sweet girl," he bit her lower lip. "Slow and steady."
Lizzie bit her lower lip, letting go of his cock and wrapping her arms around his neck for support, and Beau held her hips with a hand as he used the other one to hold his cock in the right position as she sat on him.
"That's it," he hummed. "Good girl, taking my cock so well."
She closed her yees, resting her forehead on his.
"Gonna fill you up so well," he grunted. "Perfect fit."
She tried to keep herself from falling onto him, stying to stay composed, but he was so damn deep in that position.
Lizzie gasped when he finally filled her up, stuffing her full, even deeper than Dean.
"Uncle Dean..." she moaned weakly. "You're so big!"
Beau stopped under her, holding her.
He pushed his fingers into her hair and pulled back, and Lizzie's eyes widened when she realised her slip.
"What did you call me sweet girl?" he pulled her by her hair.
Lizzie gasped.
"I'm sorry, I-"
"I am your uncle," he pulled back and thrust all the way into her, hard and punctual. "I'm the only one who can make you feel good. The only one who deserved you."
She moaned and whined, embarrassed by her slip.
How could she have called him Dean?!
"Yes, uncle Beau," she moaned. "Only you! Only you!"
Beau fucked her hard, bouncing her on his lap as if she weighed nothing.
"Gonna fuck that thought into you so you don't forget," he huffed.
He grabbed her his, holding her completely as he made fucked her.
"This is my pussy now," he growled. "Mine to taste, to touch, to fuck!"
She came.
Shaking, whimpering, crying.
And it didn't go missed by Beau.
"Oh, did you cum, baby?" he mocked you. "I barely even touched you."
She whined, gasping when he lifted her, laying her on the bed.
Her chest was pressed against the blanket and before she could move her head, he pushed it down, pulling her hips up.
"Stay right there, baby," he commanded. "Keep your ass up for me."
Beau didn't move to fuck her for a moment, and Lizzie frowned in confused, ready to look at him when a sharp slap met her ass.
She gasped, but had no time to react as he slapped her again, again and again until she was whimpering and whining.
"Perfect bounce," he purred.
Finally, he penetrated her again, pushing his cock all the way inside her and moving just as fast as before, deep and hard.
"Say my name," he commanded, darkly.
"Beau," she cried.
But he slapped her ass again.
"Say it right, sweet girl."
Lizzie's innie's cheeks burned in embarrassment.
"Uncle Beau!"
He huffed, fucking her deep, nuzzling his face onto the crook of her neck as he pounded into her, moving his fingers to her clit and rubbing it fast.
Lizzie almost screamed at the close stimulation and her eyes rolled back at the sudden overwhelming pleasure.
He was so big, practically looming over her, covering her body with his body.
She could already feel herself so close to an orgasm.
"Please, uncle Beau," she pleaded. "Wanna cum, please."
He clicked his tongue.
"So greedy," he lamented to her. "You wanna cum again after you hurt my feelings?"
Lizzie whined, and he rubbed her clit harder.
"After you let Dean take what was mine? Hm?"
She pouted, turning her head to look at him.
"Please, uncle," she pleaded. "You said you'd make me feel good."
She could see the exact moment Beau softened, breaking, and licked his hips.
"I did, didn't I, sweet girl?"
Lizzie nodded, pouting a little more, and he leaned to her, kissing her cheek as he rubbed her clit.
"Cum for me, sweet girl," he whispered.
She reached her peak a couple of moments after and embraced the wive of her orgasm, letting herself be used as Beau fucked her until he soon reached his orgasm, spilling into her before she realised he was letting another man cum inside her willingly.
Plan B worked retroactively, right?
Beau stayed inside, breathing for a moment before he adjusted her to spoon her, kissing Lizzie's cheek as they relaxed.
It wasn't long until the fuzzy sex brain left her and she started worrying.
"Maybe we should clean up?" she asked. "Before anyone comes back home."
Beau caressed her side, kissing her cheek.
"Just relax," he assured her. "I can handle everything."
Lizzie exhaled, covering his hand with hers.
"Alright," she rested her head on his pillow.
She closed her eyes for a moment, dozing off.
The last thing she felt was Beau's fingers petting her curls as she fell asleep.

A New Sheriff In Town
Tumblr media
Summary: The reader takes over as acting Sheriff when Beau is forced to be out on leave. Except the normally friendly Beau is anything but when he finds out it’s up to the reader when he comes back to work…
Pairing: Beau Arlen x Marshal!reader
Word Count: 3,500ish
Warnings: language, mentioned kidnapping/betrayal
A/N: Was missing Beau over the hiatus and came up with this little glimpse of him!...
________
“Hello?” You popped your head up from your laptop, smiling at the handsome, albeit tired, looking man in front of you.
“Sheriff Beau Arlen,” you said, standing from your chair. He nodded, a confused smile crossing his face.
“Not that I normally don’t mind finding an attractive woman in my presence, but do you care to explain to me what you’re doing in my office, at my desk?” You smiled and pushed your jacket away from your hip, showing off your badge.
“US Marshal Y/N Y/L/N. I’m the interim sheriff while you are on medical leave.” His face flashed between alarm, anger and back to alarm in the span of a second. “Take it up with your boss if you have a problem with it.”
“I am fine. I-”
“Beau Arlen,” you said, picking up a file, flipping through a few pages. “You were kidnapped for the past two days, correct? Rescued yesterday afternoon with minor injuries.”
“Exactly. Minor,” he said, snatching the file out of your hands. You looked him up and down. He was handsome when he wasn’t scowling at you like you kicked his puppy. “Now call your damn boss and let me get back to my job.”
“Funny. Everyone around here tells me you’re as sweet as can be, a nice, happy guy. But you’re being a bit of a dick. You know why?”
“Because you’re in my fucking office!” he said.
“Some injuries you don’t see. Now I am sorry but I’m in charge and-”
“Why isn’t Deputy Hoyt interim sheriff?” he said, tossing the file on the desk. “She’s my number two. Why-”
“Deputy Hoyt is visiting her son at college. She has too many unused vacation days and she was far more willing when I told her to take a leave of absence.”
“She would never-”
“She would because she did. Don’t be the fucking tough guy. Go home. Talk to a therapist. Binge watch Netflix and eat junk food. I don’t care. But know you do not get back in that chair until I authorize it and you are far from it.”
His eye twitched and he huffed, storming out, slamming the door along the way. You groaned and sat back down, the door opening after a moment, one of your deputies poking his head in. “Yeah Poppernak?”
“He’s really nice when you get to know him,” he said with a sheepish smile. “He’s just…”
“I know.” You held out the file Beau had thrown down, Poppernak walking inside to take it from you. “What’s he like? Hobbies, food, stuff like that.”
“Why?”
“Just trust me deputy.”
“Are you going to harass me at my home too?” scoffed Beau the second you were out of your truck, approaching his air streamer that evening.
“Anyone ever tell you that you live in the most gorgeous trailer in the world? God, you could charge newlyweds a whole bunch of cash just so they could bang for the night under the stars.” He grumbled as you reached inside your truck across the bench and pulled out a bag, smiling as you approached him. He was wearing a jacket and jeans, feet barefoot as he sat in a lounge chair in front of a nice large fire pit.
You stepped up onto the deck, offering the bag to him.
“Go away.”
“Wow. You really are being a jerk. It’s a good thing I’m here then,” you said. You sat the bag down on his table, pulling out a pair of containers and a DVD. You carried one over to him, setting it in his lap. He eyed it suspiciously before flipping it open, a large sandwich and side of fries inside.
“This is a meat lovers from Donno’s diner,” he said, voice rough.
“I don’t know who Donno is but I did some recon and it turns out Beau Arlen, you are a man that appreciates a good meal. I love a fellow foodie,” you said, holding up the DVD. “And because I know you love your movies too, I brought my favorite romance, The American President. Now I know, not a classical romance but you’ll like it.”
“What the hell are you doing here?” he asked. You pushed up your jacket and shirt on your right side, exposing your torso where a faded pink scar shown bright on your skin.
“My spotter fucked up on one of my cases as a Marshall. I got kidnapped and only a little hurt like someone I know. But it fucks you up and it’ll keep fucking you up until you deal with it. Now that’s the job of your department therapist but at home comforts help too.”
“That’s a scar from getting your appendix out.”
“Alright,” you said, sitting down in the chair beside him. “You caught me. But that did happen to my old partner so I know it’s true.”
“Listen,” he said, setting the food aside. “I appreciate the dinner and while normally I’m a much more pleasant person, can you leave and let me have my station back?”
You sighed, Beau rolling his eyes. “Sorry bud. Enjoy the forced vacation.”
“I don’t like you!” he called as you headed back for your truck.
“Never met a cop who has!” you shouted back with a wave. You kept a smile until you were back in your car, slowly closing your eyes.
This was not the relaxing vacation you were hoping for.
“Marshal,” said Beau the next day, trying to walk past you into the station.
“Sheriff,” you said, curling a finger at him, enjoying your cup of coffee on your morning break. “Take a step in that building and I’ll have you arrested.”
“I’m sure you will,” he said, walking straight on inside.
“I warned him,” you said to yourself, finishing off your coffee before going in after him. He was in his office when you got there, adjusting the height of his chair. “Beau Arlen you’re under arrest for violating direct orders from your superior.”
He chuckled, grabbing a pad of paper. “That’s real cute. Why don’t you-Hey!”
You shoved him down on the desk, cuffing him and dragging him out the side entrance, avoiding most of the other officers. “I told you.”
“Oh I swear I’m calling your boss and getting you fired,” he growled. You just whistled, guiding him outside and over to his truck. “Marshal-“
“Be anywhere but here. The more you resist, the longer I stay. Period.” You uncuffed him, Beau rubbing his wrists, faded red marks marring his skin. He huffed, opening his door when you put a hand on it. “Please listen to me.”
He simply jerked the door open, driving away without saying another word.
Two Weeks Later
“Oh come on,” said a gruff male voice. You turned around from where you were fishing, perched on a rock along the river, Beau meeting your gaze. He had a baseball cap on and a fishing pole in his hand. “Are you stalking me or some shit?”
“We can share. Plenty of fish,” you said, Beau grumbling before he walked over, sitting nearby. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yup. Now when exactly can I get back to work?”
“When I say so.”
“This is a total abuse of power you realize.”
“This isn’t how I wanted to spend my vacation either so don’t be pissed off at me,” you said, reeling in your line a smidge.
“Then why are you acting as sheriff?”
“Because I have experience and I wasn’t personally affected by your kidnapping like all of your officers were. You came from the outside. I know you understand that.” He hummed, the air quiet save for the sound of running water.
“So…what exactly do I have to do to convince you to let me back to work and you finish your vacation?” You reeled in your line, packing up your tackle box and standing. “Hey. Where-“
“Because I want to have one relaxing fishing trip and you just don’t stop.” You started to leave when Beau hopped up, chasing after you.
“Marshal, wait.”
“My name is Y/N,” you said, walking across the rocks carefully, unfortunately giving him a chance to catch up. “Beau just-“
“I’m sorry for being an ass.” You stopped, dropping your head. “I get…I don’t handle trauma well.”
“Who does?” You spun around, Beau smiling softly. “It’s not a punishment. I’m trying to help you.”
“I know. I know I have to deal with it to process it and move past it but it’s…I’m not in a big rush to feel vulnerable like that again.”
“I understand but until you do, I’m in charge around here.”
“The Marshal service is going to just let you stay here however long you tell them?”
“Yes.” He raised an eyebrow. “Oh sweetie, playing on the federal level is a whole other game of office politics.”
“So who fucked you over?” he asked. You breathed slowly, even.
“You know that story I told you about my partner getting captured? That was really me and my partner fucked me over on purpose after I expressed concerns to my supervisor. No internal case and I get to do whatever the fuck I want now. My pick of cases, my choice of vacations, whatever I want I get all to cover up for his fuck up of a son.” Beau blinked, smiling softly. “What?”
“You let me go off on you when you’ve gone through shit that I dismissed. You’ve been nothing but nice and it sounds like you keep getting surrounded by dickheads,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“You’re not a dick. You’re processing,” you said. He nodded back at the river.
“It’s a big river. We could share.”
“Alright. But keep the gabbing down. Fish’ll hear ya.”
Three Hours Later
“So did you make some sort of deal with the fish devil?” asked Beau as you headed back towards your vehicles, a storm rolling in. “Because you caught close to twenty by my count and I caught a whopping one.”
“You’re right,” you said, packing up the back of your truck. “I’m part of the trout cult. We sell our souls to be able to catch and release some fish on our days off.”
“You’re joking, right?” You rolled your eyes, shutting your lift gate. “Hey, you never know what people are into.”
“This job has taught me one and that is that you definitely cannot judge a book by it’s cover.”
“Marshal.” You pursed your lips, Beau stepping closer. “Y/N. Do you want to get out of the rain, grab a cold beer in a warm bar?”
“Follow me. I know a place.”
Twenty minutes later you were sat in a corner booth near a fireplace, Beau looking around the small bar.
“How’d you find this place?” he asked after you had your drinks, a basket of fries between you. You took a short sip, leaning back.
“I was feeling pretty shitty a number of years back after the partner betrayal thing. Just drove and drove for days. I wound up in Helena, drove around until I found a bar and then proceeded to get shit faced in this booth.”
Beau munched on a fry, taking off his jacket while he chewed. “You’ve been in Montana all this time?”
“No. The bartender called me a cab and booked me a motel room when I broke down. I stayed there a few days feeling sorry for myself before I sobered up and went back to Knetucky. That’s when I gave my boss a list of demands for not saying shit about his son. After that, I bounced around working solo cases, mostly money trails, until I came back here. Now I work a remote desk job, help out local law enforcement when needed. Found some peace and comfort along the way.”
He nodded, fiddling with his beer bottle. “You should work for me.”
“Beau.”
“I’m serious,” he said, green eyes flickering over to you. “If you’re a Marshal you could easily pass the exams. You could work the field again with people you trust. My people are clean.”
“I know. I can tell you run a tight ship,” you said, his head tilting. “I don’t think I’m cut out for field work anymore.”
“This is Helena, not Detroit,” he chuckled. “You’d be a deputy, have seniority, get to run investigations. It wouldn’t be all that different than what you do now I’m sure.”
“You offering me a job so you can get back to work sooner?” you teased. He held up his hands, smiling proudly.
“Nope. I know a good cop when I see one is all.”
“I’m a US Marshal, Sheriff. I outrank you for all intents and purposes.”
“Well…I don’t have a good reason to give that up,” he chuckled. “But we could find a desk space for you in the office, when I do eventually go back to work. It’d be nice to have someone with such superior expertise at our disposal.”
You flipped him the bird, Beau laughing against the rim of his bottle, taking a long drag. “Offers on the table is all I’m saying.”
“I work better alone Beau. But, when you are back in charge, call me up if you need a local Marshal.”
“Will do,” he said, tipping his bottle towards you. You clinked it with your own, the air turning warmer, heat from the fireplace spilling out. “Any advice on how to get over the whole…you know.”
“Accept that you were afraid, that you could have died, and that you aren’t weak because of it. The people we help every day aren’t weak because something bad happened to them. They just had bad shit happen and that’s it. That’s all it was Beau. Something bad. You’ll feel better with time and the more you start to believe that.”
He nodded, gaze fixated on the table in front of you. “Sorry for being a dick before.”
“Sorry for being pushy.”
“I needed it,” he said with a smile.
“Oh I know,” you laughed. He chuckled, stealing another fry from the basket. “So. How’d a Texas boy like you wind up here?”
“Like you don’t already know,” he said, face softening. You shrugged.
“Yeah but I’d rather hear your version.”
“Alright. Be careful what you wish for though.”
Two Weeks Later
“Marshal Y/L/N,” said Beau behind a pair of sunglasses, badge back on his hip. You smiled behind your own, crossing your arms as you stopped beside him, looking into the back of the overturned truck on the highway. “I think we found the money from that bank robbery in Washington last week.”
“Looks like you did. You got to love when criminals are morons,” you said, peeking your head into the back. You cocked your head, scanning the scattered bills. “You’re missing about five million.”
“How can you tell?” he asked, looking inside with you.
“One duffel bag fits about five million. The bank reported fifty stolen. But you only have-”
“Nine bags,” he said, straightening up, lips pursed. “Let’s talk to the driver.”
“Mind if I take lead?” you asked. He waved you forward, letting you approach the man cuffed at the end of Poppernak’s squad car. “Hey Joe. I know you know you’re in deep shit so let’s skip the small talk. I know you crashed on purpose and I know you’re supposed to take the blame and we’re supposed to assume you have the other five million stashed somewhere. But we both know that’s not the truth. So why don’t you tell us who is actually behind this and we will go find your girlfriend for you, maybe even find a bit of leniency for you. What do you say?”
Thirty minutes later you were in Beau’s truck, tapping your fingers against the door panel. “Okay. How the fuck did you do that?”
“Marshal service suspected the bank manager was behind it. Joe Niven is a guard at work there, been missing several days. But so has Joe’s girlfriend. Now one could assume they were on the run together but Joe’s girlfriend didn’t show up to work for two days before the robbery happened. I had a gut feeling it was coercion. Joe confirmed that.”
“How can we trust his word?” he asked, turning down a road, a trail of police cars after you.
“His knuckles were scrapped up and he had bruises on his biceps like someone dragged him back. They showed him the girlfriend, Joe got pissed and they separated him from her before he had a chance to get her out. He couldn’t have grabbed himself like that, fingertips are all wrong.”
“Why would he trust us then?”
“Because the robbery was days ago and Joe wouldn’t still be doing what they asked if the girlfriend was free. It’s going to leak soon they found the money on the highway. When it does, that girlfriend is dead which is why we’re going to Elden pass. He said he heard howling in the background. Wolves migrate through Elden pass this time of year and yes, the only reason I know that is because I’m a documentary nerd.”
“You have no idea how much I want you to take that job offer.” You smirked, nerves crawling up your spine. “You got my back in there?”
You turned in your seat, brow furrowed. “You want me going into the scene?”
“You have more tactical experience than any of my people and it’s my first run back. I could use a steady hand with me.”
“Beau, I haven’t been-”
“I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t think you could handle yourself.” You closed your eyes, nodding to yourself. “Okay?”
“Okay,” you breathed out. “I got your back.”
“Nice job in there,” said Beau an hour later, the sunset making his hair seem golden. You were leaned against his truck, Beau sliding over to stand beside you. “Thank you. I know it was dangerous going in to get Jane out.”
“I was scared to death,” you said, running a hand over the thick, heavy vest you wore. “But as soon as we went in, that went away. I’ve been terrified of real field work for years and I thought it was because of what had happened but really, it’s because I didn’t trust anyone after that. But I did today. I trusted you and your people and because of that, we were able to save that woman.”
“I’m not joking when I say I’d love for you to work with us regularly, even on a consultant basis.”
“Maybe I do need a change.” You looked over at him, Beau smiling wide. “I’ll think about it. No promises.”
“That’s all I can ask. In the meantime, you want to come to movie night? We can watch my new favorite drama chick flick.”
“You watched it!” you said, eyes wide. “What did you think? Tell me everything.”
“I think it is the most random ass excuse for a chick flick I’ve ever seen yet I really enjoyed it. So you want to come over and watch? We could order a pizza, unwind after a long day.”
“I’d love that, Beau.” He tucked your hair behind your ear, a spark rushing up your spine.
“See you at my place in an hour.” He didn’t walk away though. Instead he smiled, leaned down and placed a soft, lazy kiss on your lips. You were surprised to say the least. You knew you were getting friendlier but you weren’t expecting that. He pulled back, letting the kiss linger before his eyes were taking in your face. “You know what I liked about that movie? She doesn’t give a fuck that he’s the president. He’s just a guy she likes. And he goes for it despite how horribly wrong it could all go cause he comes with a lot of baggage and that should scare her but it doesn’t. And even though he’s got to do something that goes against her, they still find a way to make it work in the end. Reminds me of this idiot guy I know.”
“Beau,” you whispered as he played with the end of your hair. “Is tonight a date?”
“You tell me.” You put a hand on his chest, tapping the spot where his name was woven into his vest.
“Make it a supreme pizza,” you said. “I ain’t a girl that hides how much she loves to eat on the first date.”
“You got it,” he said, his smile faltering only slightly when someone called his name. “Let yourself in if you get there before me. Key is under the patio chair.”
“You’d trust me with a key to your house?” you asked as he walked away.
“I trusted you the whole time, Y/N. Just took a while to admit it to myself,” he said, spinning around with a grin. “See you later, Marshal.”
“Yes you will, Sheriff.”
