i wanna live in this parallel universe where livejournal was populated by rpf stories of varying quality and melodramaticism about my chemical romance working together as line cooks. i think that universe would be better in general than this one by domino effect.

This might be controversial BUT I think it’s cringe and bad when women are open about their insecurities and insert that into conversations randomly. For instance, my mother in law talking about her best friend and randomly saying “yeahhh, she has always been the pretty one, tall and skinny. Then there’s me, frumpy” or wtf ever she said. The only person you should be openly insecure to is your partner Lmfao, that’s who you should open up to. I feel like it’s really important to maintain confidence to others. Not quick to brag about your appearance, but at the least not exposing your flaws for everyone to see. And yikes I’m guilty of this, but it clicked recently, it really just gives people a certain impression of you when you do that. Also, denying yourself the opportunity to beat yourself down in a conversation like that might even make you feel better about yourself

OH fun eclipse story prompted by lrb: i drove abt an hour from 95% coverage into the path of totality (which was sooooo sick god it was so cool) and we ended up in a tradewinds parking lot. like within less than 2 minutes of full totality my dad saw some old bastard walking out of the store w/o eclipse glasses and we had extra so we offered. the guy was like “NO i dont care i already saw one [eclipse] already.” and we’re like Uhm ? when? and he was like “TWENTY YEARS AGO or something i dont care i’ve seen it once already” and then he got into his car and WAS DRIVING AS THE TOTALITY HAPPENED 😭😭😭

how did it end has the same chord progression as the curse by josh ritter and i think that says a lot about what type of song this is because the curse used to fill me with so much dread i couldn’t stand to listen to it. it’s so beautifully heartbreaking, and how did it end is as well.
