Breach - Alhaitham (Part 2)

Part 2 of this fic! Gender neutral reader. This part is more of a build up than an actual ending, so a third part will be soon. I may or may not be tempted to write Heizou into this but shhh

You worked for Kamisato Ayato, and you felt like you were almost like family to them. You spend quite a lot of time with Ayaka, the sister, and she was very sweet. When she found out about your ex through looking over your shoulder when you were writing a letter to Kaveh, along with some Inazuma photography, she seems to get an interest in finding you someone.

She asks you for your type, to which you hesitate.

"Well, I don't particularly know." You giggle. "My ex was the only man I dated and had an interest in, but I think it may have been down to us just being close before the relationship..." You furrow your brows. "Does that make sense?"

Ayaka nods, thinking to herself before getting an idea.

"How about I get you a date. Thoma is a lovely guy, and he is attractive if I do say so myself." She hides her mouth behind her fan, smirking to herself.

Thoma was attractive, you must admit.

Wait.

"Thoma's single? How?" You whisper when Thoma walks by, accompanying Ayato.

"Some people are...well, picky...he isn't originally from here, you see." She explains, closing her eyes as she finishes the sentence.

"My lord, if you don't mind me asking, why are we giving this... Alhaitham... A chance?" Thoma asks, reading from the letter. "He's already demonstrated late attendance, and _ has been doing a great job!"

"Well, this man has more experience in paper." Ayato blankly explains. "I'm sure he had his hands full."

Thoma knows better than to ask if Ayato thought you were incompetent, nodding to himself before thinking up a way to keep you there.

He didn't want you running back to your ex, not when your ex was part of your driving force to come here.

"_, I must apologise for this news." Thoma states. "My Lord has chosen to take on board another scribe. I am on the lookout for any places needing your-"

"Can they be my scribe then?" Ayaka jumps in. "Please, I think it would be beneficial given the tasks I sometimes do."

Thoma smiles, nodding as he realises that with Ayaka there, Ayato wouldn't be able to refuse the offer.

You feel Ayaka judge you, gasping, and you follow her eyes only to feel your heart sink

He had come.

Ayato sat across from Alhaitham, clearly unimpressed by his blatant reasoning for deciding to take this job after not responding to the letter to at least voice an interest in the work the Kamisato Estate had to offer.

"I am only here to look for my lover."

"And what, pray tell, does this have to do with work?" Ayato stares daggers into Alhaitham.

"I am simply stating my reason for accepting this job." Alhaitham stares back, not caring for the social difference between them both.

"And why shouldn't I just send you on your merry way back to Sumeru? It's clear you intend to go right back once you find them." Ayato observes.

"Because I am the best of the best." Alhaitham states.

"How charming." Ayato blandly sighs. "Very well, I shall humour this."

"_, I've got a crush on that scribe." Ayaka confesses, trying to hide her blush with her fan as she looks over at the man following Ayato as his boss seems to be giving him a lot of work at one time. "Oh goodness, I shouldn't be staring like this - it isn't very ladylike of me." She realises out loud.

"Don't worry!" You reassure her. "I'm sure you could fish for some information from Lord Ayato." You continue.

You somehow managed to hide the fact this man was your ex. You didn't dislike Ayaka, and you knew she wasn't usually all that interested in the suitors available in Inazuma.

"Oh, I have a date set up for you." She excitedly exclaims. "This evening, I have set up an evening plan for Thoma and yourself. I'm sure you will both enjoy it." She smiles, you nodding before you return to writing out your next letter for Kaveh, detailing the fact Alhaitham took your position without even giving you a heads up.

In the letter, you disclose the fact you're going on a date with a man called Thoma, and you were very much looking forward to seeing how it would play out. At the end of the letter, you clarify with Kaveh that you knew Alhaitham was one to be nosy with the mail if he needed some information, so you didn't particularly blame Kaveh for what happened.

You seal the letter before taking a walk to get it sent away.

secondly, i finished marius's new personal chapter thingy (or the event, tbh i have no idea what it is i just saw marius and was like i had to do it) AND I HAVE SOME THOUGHTS

there were a bunch of moments that just made me so SOFT like idk but i'm a huge sucker for when the guy leans forward to rest his forehead on their s/o's shoulder, the vulnerability just jansjsnsnks i love it

also i think these would be translations since hyv is china based BUT THEIR TRANSLATORS (and ofc story writers) HAD SO MANY MOMENTS IN THIS EVENT

my opinion at least, the connotations were so <3 and it (the story) i think was really good

then again i'm not like the type to heavily analyze (because i am incapable of critical thought aksnjsnsn) so y'all who have done the first part might disagree which is perfectly valid

also the pain i feel when i get a 5* artifact and the main stat ends up being friggin def%.

fifthly (is that even a word lol autocorrect says it's not), i had a really embarrassing first impression on one of my professors and it makes me feel horrible so i'm telling myself to make this a learning moment so i don't make this mistake again but god i wanna cry (to make up for it i'm gonna work 10x harder - or at least the best i can do juggling the classes that i have now - and make a really dedicated effort to make his office hours because i think it was 20? i don't remember but you need a lot of good impressions to change the bad impression and i have like a couple weeks left- tbh i think i only have like 1 remaining week because he canceled next week's and then there's thanksgiving break and then dead week so actually maybe there's 2- I DONT KNOW BUT THE ONES I CAN MAKE I SWEAR I WILL MAKE

We would probably want his attention, but he would just shoo us away so he can work whitout being disturbed. We were really bored and basically we were staring at the grass growing, but we heard something ⁉️😨 we checked up and saw bigg a$s ruin guards making mess like always ( i hate them sm UGH). So we are like :" lmao let's fight"( really smart idea😇). But we were expecting 2 ruin guards, not 4⁉️😱 They beated our ass, but we won ofc (slay). We had bruises pretty much all over our body. We came home barely standing, so when we open the door we saw...

"Oh, brother! *Ugly fake ass laugh* why are you up, is your work done?"

you knocked on your older brothers office door, "come in." he spoke softly you could barely even hear through the door.

you barged in the room, "heizou.. it's been days and you've still been in here? aren't you tired?" you asked, eyeing the coffee cups on his desk.

"im fine, you don't need to worry about me." he sighed, taking off his glasses he wouldn't normally put on, "now, shoo. i have work to do." he said, pushing you out the office.

"seriously..?" you scratched your head, stressed, he should really take a break. it was really late, he didn't even come home once he entered the office.

you went outside the building, to roam around inazuma, doing domains for materials you need, you found a grassy field that you decided to lay on for now.

you were watching the flowers grow, as you saw two ruin guards, coming your way to attack you, it was so peaceful, why'd they have to come now?

but hey, free materials right? you thought as you summoned your spear and landed the first blow, plunging on top of it as you jumped.

after some time, you finally finished their asses, with a bunch of cuts and bruises, some cuts still had blood flowing out of it.

you sighed as you gathered the materials, you were used to getting injured, but heizou didn't like that.

you decided to go home, he wouldn't have been there because of his paper work, right? you skipped to your house,

as you opened the door, heizou heard the creak. "what're you doing out at this time?! it's 1am!" he screamed from another room, not yet going to you.

"well, you keep on saying that, but you've been overworking yourself in the office for four whole days! unlike you, i touched some grass and actually went outside!" you argued back.

he finally exited the room he was in, as he eyed your scars and bruises. "hey. what the hell happened?" he asked, leaning on a wall.

you sighed, "i wanted some materials, but i kinda got distracted, so—" before you could continue, your older brother took your wrist and sat you on the couch.

he went to his room for awhile, finding bandages to patch you up. he finally came back with two rolls, as he sat beside you.

"geez, dumbass, you need to be careful while fighting." he clicked his tongue as he rolled the bandages around your arm.

he was a bit mean, but at least we was caring enough to look out for you.

How about Heizou being transported into our world and the reader (lets say they live alone) and the reader takes Heizou into work once they get him reasonably changed, hoping he could get some work there.

He somehow manages to take the readers job in the span of a few days, the reader being fired and sent away. Heizou still lives with them, but he's under the impression you're working together because it's the same job.

He finds out you lost your job when you give him the cold shoulder, snapping at him when he teasingly asks you whats wrong. Reader looks into how Heizou got into the world, and somehow *they* get transported into the world Heizou is from.

When you showed up to work that morning, you didn't think you'd find your new roommate. You were assigned to a job where you were to connect the dots for a case, and figure out a possible timeline for the events that took place. There wasn't exactly a 'crime', however the sudden appearance of a dodgy house in the city was a cause for concern. Of course, you take the job - this was going to be your chance to get that promotion.

You didn't expect to see a man, seemingly unharmed, to be waking up in the building. He looks around, hand on his chin as he seems to take some joy in finding himself in an unfamiliar place. He looks over when the door opens, curiousity in his eyes as he walks around you, investigating your clothing.

"Sir, are you feeling okay?" You ask, the man stopping in his tracks. "I'm investigating this house, can I ask you a few questions?"

The man nods, and you escort him to the police station. Getting a room after explaining this man had been in the building, you get the okay to interview him.

"The names Shikanoin Heizou, detective of the Tenryo Commission." He smoothly lets out, clicking his fingers as he finishes the sentence. "It is a pleasure to be of assistance in this mystery."

"...Sorry, can you explain more about the Tenryo Commission? I don't believe I have heard of it." You raise a brow, Heizou looking at you blankly as if you were joking.

"Have you heard of Inazuma?" He asks. You shake your head, Heizou humming out loud. "Teyvat?" He continues. You shake your head again, and Heizou crosses his arms.

"I need you to be a bit more serious here." You bluntly let out. "Stop pulling my leg, and try again."

"But I am being serious. If anything, I think you're pulling my leg." Heizou defends himself.

After a few minutes of arguing, you both realise that neither of you were joking. Heizou appeared to be from another world, and he somehow got teleported into your world. You ask him to show you his hands, and you're surprised to see his fingerprints don't look even remotely like they were real.

"You said you were a detective, Heizou." You begin, Heizou looking at you as you think out loud. "I'd like to work with you on this case. Both of us together might bring some insight to this mystery."

"That sounds... interesting." Heizou tilts his head. "Wait, 'mystery'? Do tell me more." His eyes glisten with excitement.

In the duration of you both working together, you had him in your flat. You struggled with the rent often, and Heizou did seem to feel guilty about this. After talking to your boss about Heizou's capabilities, your boss decided to give Heizou a try at being a detective.

You found you were tasked to 'focus on the house', and Heizou started to work independently on the cases you typically did. You thought nothing of it, but then your boss called you in.

"_, take a seat." Your boss encourages, you reluctantly doing so. "I'm going to have to let you go. We have budget cuts, and unfortunately this affects you."

"Sir, please give me a chance to prove myself!" You plead, your boss shaking their head.

"I'm afraid you have been coasting. However, I must thank you for finding Heizou. He has been phenomenal." Your boss smiles to themselves, before turning their attention back to you. "I wish you the best of luck."

"_, you'll never guess what happened today!" Heizou cheers the moment you leave your boss's office. "I got promoted, isn't that cool?" He winks, getting under your skin. Since you were still in the workplace, you had to maintain your professionalism.

"Congrats!" You wince, heading out. Heizou looks over, shrugging his shoulders before getting onto work.

That night, Heizou came home to you beginning to fill out job applications.

"What's happened? Jealous I'm better at detective work?" Heizou asks, you snapping the pen in your hand as your head darts over to Heizou.

"I lost my job today, Heizou. I have to look for work. Well done on your promotion, by the way, I guess you have me to thank for you getting that job." You rant, Heizou listening.

"Well, if you wanted to-"

"Don't you start with me. You've embarrassed my name, I should have left you there." You cut him off, waiting for Heizou to say something.

"But you didn't."

"I can put a good word for you in. I'm sure if I show you how I-"

Before he finishes his sentence, you find yourself walking out.

"Now, let's see what's in this house." You think out loud. "Surely there's something here that will bring some closure..." You continue, walking towards the middle of the room after closing the door behind you. You notice a darker spot beginning to form itself under your feet, and before you can step back, the world as you know it starts to feel different.

You wake up to a woman jamming a fried egg down your mouth. You get up, thoroughly confused on how you were being fed an egg. How on earth did you digest that egg, without choking on it, and how did that wake you up?

The woman introduces herself, Kujou Sara, and you introduce yourself.

"...Am I in Inazuma?" You ask, the woman nodding. "I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm not from this world." You elaborate right away. "This house showed up out of nowhere in my world, and there was a detective in the building. Does the name Shikanoin Heizou ring a bell?"

"What has he done this time?" Kujou Sara huffs out, shaking her head. "I take it he's still in your world?"

You nod, and after a discussion about your background, Kujou Sara offers you Heizou's currently vacant spot as a detective. You were surprised she believed you so quickly, but you weren't about to judge her for giving you a chance to start working in the Tenryo Commission.

Surprisingly, you adapted well, and after a long while you had assumed that Heizou was simply swapped with you. You were in his spot, and he was in the spot you were working towards. Heizou was still considered a missing person, and people were still looking out for him, but you knew deep down that you most likely would be forgotten after a few months at most.
