Wow this is a definite hot take to be sure as I know a lot of people have A-2 ranked as their personal favourite Another case period, so seeing it ranked so low is...a interesting manoeuvre.

The characterisation of the victim and culprit is interesting because it shows a massive inconstency with LINUJ's worldbuilding and his worldview. You see LINUJ had ideas to make certain characters more jerkish and more evil then they were. I already discussed how he planned to make Kanata into a serial killer but decided she was too cute and wholesome to be twisted so it was dropped. Similarly he had plans to make Ayame into someone evil as well, so that one segment where Ayame claims to be evil was meant to be geniune. This was again dropped because I think LINUJ started to realise if he made all his culprits to be complete arseholes, then it would get boring very quickly. Also because of the big reveal that not only were all of Class 79 members of the Kisagari Foundation but apparantely they all got the best character development imaginable and all became good buddy-buddy friends.

So by this logic that means Kizuna eventually evolves and develops to be more then a shallow bullying bitch, so why the fuck is she described as being a hollow bitch all along LINUJ? I know Killing Games are high stress enviroments which do nobody any good but what happened in the one year the Class 79 knew each other which was so different from the now? Its just so much of a tonial dissonance that its almost as if LINUJ's views on human nature and how the story are progressing are competiting against each other. Now I'm starting to have a better picture why Void are the way they are, because maybe LINUJ realised having a group who supposedly all got along so well, that he needed to create a massively evil group to justify what he says about them.

So long story short if you remember Bubble's Mean Girl Problem essay, Kizuna is the biggest victim of it because she is literally treated like a bitch and nothing else. Like the crying and the fact she was lonely was all a ruse so she could kill Yuki? And that's not even ignoring the fact Kizuna in some ways would have become an accidental heroine given her original targets of Yuki and Akane ARE the masterminds all along, but I don't really think she had noble intentions there. It makes me suspect if Divine Luck came into play why Ayame happened to be in the area when the murder was taking place so that Akane and Yuki could dodge death.

This chapter also makes me realise how overrated Akane and Ayame's relationship is because those two barely interacted with each other during A-2, and the main reason people ship these two together is soley because of the fact Ayame saved Akane from Kizuna. Which its a solid reason and we know Ayame's actions do have a lasting effect as its the main catalyst which causes Akane to develop a conscious in the end, Akane doesn't really interact much with Ayame beyond that. Most of her Chapter 2 interactions are with Kizuna and we all know how THAT ends up unfortunately. Dom't get me wrong I do like all the shipping done with that, but its something that's blown WAY out of proporation.

Seems like wasting a good chunk of the class trial on pointless stuff is a recurring theme with Chapter 2s isn't it? 2-2 had to go through the video game and then Hiyoko having a Twitter like meltdown, 3-2 had not only Himiko but then Maki accused of murder and that took up a good deal of trial time, this obviously spends a lot of time with Akane in the hot seat and Despair Time takes the cake with the majority being spend on pointless secrets that in the end adds to nothing. That's easily the worst one since at least the others kinda were related to murder crime but that...was so not it. Heck even 1-1 and A2-2 weren't spared this since 1-1 had the Genocider Syo stuff though that was actually a important point to the trial so it wasn't nonsense that out stayed its welcome, and A2-2 was a trainwreck conducted by Kanade Otonokoji so less said there the better.

This is another reminder I REALLY need to read +2-2 at some point, because I know quite a few people, especially Carol herself, having been asking me to read it, which for those who don't know, its an AU where Ayame was able to give Kizuna medical attention before she bled out to death. Because seeing the main reason why Ayame decided to kill Kizuna was because she knew there was no way she could get Kizuna medicial attention in time before she died and then Akane would be the blackened, Ayame would basically finish off the job. So I am curious how Carol gets around that issue and how it effects the rest of the Chapter.

I also notice there is some translation errors in this Chapter since the motive is the dark secrets that everyone randomly picks out, but they keep referring to the notes as videos, so unless these are like Harry Potter like notes where the words move, I'm gonna suspect the translator fucked up here. The remake should clear this up though.

Going back to my previous discussions on how Junko is watching all this footage and taking notes how to finetune it for her own Killing Game, I think the actions of Kizuna and Ayame is what not only motivated her to kill Mukuro off, since she didn't want Mukuro doing a Akane and siding against her, but also why she decided to have Mukuro pose as her while she hides in the background. As after seeing Kizuna (rightfully) suspect that Yuki and Akane are tied to the Mastermind, she tries to kill them off which to Junko was too much of a risk factor for her. I did always wonder why Junko didn't hide herself among the students and was just cooped up in her mastermind room all the time, but now I know why this is the case, you cannot kill the Mastermind if you cannot find them.

We all know the Doylst reasoning for this is LINUJ trying to play it safe, but I do like my Wattson explanation for why there are differences between the Proto Killing Game and the Killing School Life as Junko taking notes on the test run and figuring out what works well and what doesn't. Like the notes are given randomly so others do find out, but I wonder why Junko decides to have it so Class 78 get their own secrets and the threat that no murder in 24 hours means the entire world finds out about them. As I would think others knowing the secrets would cause more chaos.

It is cool that while Ayame said she did do it to protect Akane, she also had ulteror motives for wanting to escape too. This is something I had to talk about on my blog where someone mentioned someone saying that Gundham covering up evidence for his crime means he was trying to escape and not kill Nekomaru to sacifice himself, because if he wanted to help everyone, why not say so at the start? Now of course that should be pinned for 2-4 but my rebuttal at the time is that the reason nobody who does a sacifice says I did it is firstly survival instincts mean nobody wants to fess up since confessing means death, but secondly even if they did admit it would anyone believe them? Plenty of characters like to falsely confess to killing which means said confessions won't be accepted. And by plenty I do mean Nagito and Kokichi. Mostly Kokichi.

Also the fact that Danganronpa is a video game and it would make it very boring. And yeah I agree there should be more evidence to pin Ayame as the culprit rather then opps I slipped. Since the lack of it is what leads the discussion to be focused on Akane for so long and not shift to Ayame until Rei had to literally spell it out by saying "Ayame did it, you guys are morons and never ask for anything ever again."

Tsurugi's downward sprial is also a big yikes because this is what happens when the "leader" becomes the rival character and everyone suffers as a result. But I do disagree that Tsurugi doesn't improve as as the game goes, and the rest of the characters call him out on his bullshit, he does eventually realise it leaves him isolated with no one but Yuki for company, and even that is hollow in the end. So there was a sense by A-5 that Tsurugi would eventually improve as a person...but then Yuki being Utsuro completely killed any intention of that and really made him become the maniac he was by SDRA2. Having said that, I will say he isn't the worst example of this in Fanganronpas, because I'm going through The After right now and if you hate how Tsurugi is treated...

Then you are really gonna loathe Ryohei Seki. I do like this approach because Tsurugi does become quite hateable but its a very unique take on a rival character as normally the distain for the character is like "they are werid/creepy" whereas Tsurugi is very antagonistic and the others do call him out on that. Remember how I said Mitch being so irredeemable allowed Tsurugi's idealogy to sneak into the other's heads? Well having Ayame be sympathatic and Tsurugi to be like she's evil all along, is the point where most characters will start to realise Tsurugi is in the wrong.

I also find Tsurugi's idealogy to be very hypocritical as he got that idealogy from his father, who was working with Junko all this time and thus is the Ultimate evil. So why double down, and thus making himself to be as deprived as Despair itself? Is he literally that delusional in SDRA2?

That being said A-2 is an original case which is more then what can be said for all of Another 1. And while Ayame and Akane's dynamic was handled well, abet right at the end, Kizuna wasn't handled well and some of the stuff LINUJ says really goes against his own writings. Tsurugi is going a interesting turn as while he's not a very likable character I find it compelling he's like this, and while the first trail serves to help you support his idealogy, the second one is to tell you Tsurugi is very much in the wrong.

Overall I tell now we are in the C tier of Chapters, where we are past the real stinkers and ones with glaring flaws to them, and are now into the okay ones but with some significent flaws here and there. And I'm curious who you consider to be a better Another culpirt then Ayame but we will eventually find that out.

Unlike my interactions with other DR Mods like Bubbles and Poi, I've not really talked to her ever, but I've been a fan of her art long before I ever found A Student Out Of Time. If she's the one who wrote that fic, I'll for sure give it a go.

//Also, the fact that Divine Luck came into play to protect Akane is canon. Divine Luck made it so that everything in the killing game happened just as Utsuro wanted it to without Utsuro even being conscious or aware of his own abilities. It's also why Tsurugi just so happened to trip over the carpet in Chapter 4 when he was was trying to goad everyone into group suicide, and why he didn't die despite shooting himself point-blank in the brain.

//The fact that Ayame and Akane didn't interact too much during the Chapter isn't something I take fault with, because I think it's implied that they still hung out behind closed doors (and no, that's not an innuendo) when Yuki wasn't present, but yeah, you have a point. It would have been more impactful had we seen something like Mondo and Taka's bonding session in DR1, but at the same time, Akane and Ayame were never really at odds with each other.

//Maybe if you were to send that to the guys working on the remake, they might consider adding a little scene to better explain it. The only problem in that case is that it would make it way too obvious that either one of them is going to be the Chapter 2 killer.

//The thing is that of all the second cases in this series, yes, they all do have the common trait of dancing around a lot until you reach a conclusion, but I think that 2-2 and A2-2 are the only ones that did that poorly, and A-2 kind of does it...okayish. 1-2 and V3-2 actually do really good stuff with their red herrings and it makes the case way more interesting.

//Also, the main reason why 2-2 is so bad in that regard is because the killer is outed REALLY quickly. If it was the other way around in that the killer was outed very late into the trial, and most of it was waffling around trying to figure out their identity, I wouldn't mind as much, because that's the whole point of Danganronpa.

//And yeah, please don't put too much credit to the direct translation of Another 1 that most people have played. The translation issues and the fact that the team who originally did it did such a half-baked job is one of the raving issues of that game when I and my friend Megacomet played it for the first time, and I'm glad the remake seems to be serious about fixing that.

//That stuff about Junko makes sense, but honestly, thinking about it that way, I do think that does ultimately take away from Junko's character. The fact that her master plans aren't even hers originally is one thing, but I also feel like she would happily have killed Mukuro regardless of what happened. I think she saw the killing game as a spectacular event that she could use as an excuse to finally get rid of her after all this.

//Weirdly enough, this motive and the tension it causes reminded me of the Chapter 2 motive of Hyper Danganronpa H20 of all things. I don't know why because it's completely different, but it carries the same amount of weight with its reveals and stuff, even if its handled relatively poorly.

//The quick version is that the motive itself gives you one other random member of the main cast, and how many people over the course of their life that they have hurt, and how many people they have killed. And it comes with some interesting revelations, such as Victoria Hester having killed several thousands as part of being a naval officer. Although in that game, this comes back to bite her much later in Chapter 4 when one of the other characters turns out to be a survivor of a camp that she and her squadron destroyed.

//The reason why Victoria manages to survive for much longer after that though is because the others confront her about it in a non-violent confrontation, and she explains herself. Meanwhile, that chapter's killer, like Kizuna here, doesn't question the circumstances behind her own note, and chooses to assinate that chapters victim based on this unproveable evidence.

//So HDRH20 does it better and just as bad at the same time, which for Another, is NOT a good look.

//Also, that spiel about Gundham and why he didn't step forward immediately following Nekomaru's body discovery? There actually is a more thorough and detailed reason why he chose to do, and it's a lot more obvious than people think it is. But I'll cover that when we get to talking about 2-4, which in case you don't know me by now, won't be for quite a while.

//All I can say in regards to how the Ayame stuff gets resolved is #SleiMekaru, and that's both good and bad.

//Tsurugi in SDRA2 is a discussion for another time, for sure, and I will touch on it when we get to talking about A2-6. There are, I'm sure, a lot of reasons why he became so disjointed, but the fact that he regressed so much still bothers me.

//Although, if there's one thing I do like about Tsurugi, it's that even as a "rival" character, his main relationship with Yuki is surprisingly cooperative and very not rival-like. The only ways in which they differ are their chosen methodology, but both know they ultimately want the same thing. Contrasting that with other rivals:

Makoto wants to work with Byakuya to ensure that everyone can survive, but Byakuya wants none of that, and initially, he would much rather the killing game continue so he can have his fun. He's very serious about making Makoto know that the two of them come from very different worlds that should never cross.

Hajime and Nagito go through a rollercoaster in which they start as friends before Hajime develops a disdain for Nagito after he reveals his true nature and ideology, then Nagito turns that disdain back on Hajime, and then they are...somehow okay with each other again in 3, but...whatever.

Shuichi and Kokichi maintain an...interesting relationship in that they're not quite friends, but definitely not enemies either. Kokichi is clearly very endeared to Shuichi with the fact that he likes playing around with him, but never specifically subjects Shuichi to any of his more extreme antics, while Shuichi never holds Kokichi's actions against him, despite some of the absolutely terrible shit that he does, because he just wants to understand Kokichi.

Sora and Syobai just despise each other and maintain an unhealthy and bitter dynamic with each other, even when they try to avoid one another. Makes sense considering SDRA2 literally starts off with Syobai stabbing her, but in the end, they do eventually accept each other for who they are, and come together to destroy Mikado in an epic fashion.

//In contrast, Yuki and Tsurugi disagree on each others way of going about the Killing Game, with Yuki trying to be friendly and reasonable, and Tsurugi trying to be a totalitarian dictator about it, but they themselves are ammicable with each other and respect the other as a person.

//And this carries over in SDRA2 when Tsurugi very clearly genuinely wants to save Yuki from the Neo World. As bad as Tsurugi is, his relationship with Yuki is one of his best points. It's just not something that gets brought up in the trials a lot.

//But yeah, the key word when it comes to analysing Tsurugi is "hypocrisy." It is ABUNDANT throughout his entire writing.

//As for Ryohei Sasaki, I am partially familiar with him, but there's a difference between them.

//Tsurugi fell into despair and became corrupt as a result of the circumstances around him, and he genuinely thinks that what he's doing is for the betterment of the world, and in some ways, he is right.

//Sasaki is just a bad person through and through.

//And yeah, to finish this quick response, I did actually make a tier-list version of this ranking, and we are in the C-Tier right now. This is how it is so far:

I think the core of the issue with Natsumi in ASOOT is that once she's saved she changes immediately and then isn't adressed again for the longest time because "the Natsumi issue" has been solved.

Which just isn't good writing because, as it's been shown and pointed out in the DFTA with Hiyoko's current character act, these kinds of terrible people don't just change randomly and they've became so awful because no one was there to tell them that behavior was wrong and try to correct and show them the right way to treat others when growing up or how to change their behavior.

A good example of this kind of character improvement arc is Kizuna in -2+2 where after she's called out for her actions she doesn't immediately do a 180 and start acting like she does in the more recent chapters, a blunk of Chapter 3 is spend showing her trying to change and mend her relationship with the other characters and thought it all she had Kanata for support, who is literally the nicest character in DRA so it feels in character for her to be so helpful and forgiving to her

//And that's precisely what I'm doing, yes her getting choked by Gebura was a massive wake up call, but its not gonna magically change her, because the main reason she apologised wasn't because she felt remorse but because Hiyori made it clear if she died, a penguin rampage would occur which would kill everyone onboard the Voidship, including her older brother.

//As such it may have not been a genuine apology. A lot of people say that the fact it takes one bad day for some to go evil is bullshit, likewise I think for a nasty and horrible person one day where they are treated nicely and given basic human decency isn't gonna make them better people. Its gonna take a very long time for Natsumi to make amends with herself and become a better person.

//And even when she does, it will all go away upon waking up, tis the nature of the Voidship after all if you don't live there~

So I guess Yukio be the only one left but I don't think he would be too interested.

After all, I did hear his dad is some major CEO so he must have a lot of money on hand so I'll give him a shot!

Good luck, your gonna need it... (Knowing Yukio, I can see this ending very poorly given he isn't too fond of girls like Kizuna and he doesn't like his dad at all, let's just hope he tells her off gently...)

kiyoka: bi! i think she'd just like.... not even consider that she could be anything but her for a long time, then when she finally realizes, it's because she's crushing on a girl, and she assumes that like "oh ig im a lesbian then bc i don't like any guys!" it. takes her a moment, but she does eventually realize she doesn't have to actively be crushing on a guy and a girl to be bi. also shes cis i'm sorry i think. she's one of those characters who's like... their experiences can be seen as an allegory for being trans but it doesn't work for their character for them to be trans. obvi all trans kiyoka hcs are so so so valid! i just don't see it

kizuna: lesbian. i'm sorry her entire thing with guys is literally just because of how she was raised/it's entirely comphet. she hasn't even considered she could be a lesbian and prolly has some internalized homophobia tbh. i also think she's cis just because i. Do Not think minako would go "oh yes obvi if ur trans that's fine u just have to find a rich boy to seduce ☺️" it does not fit. however i think if she felt safe enough to question she may end up id'ing as a demigirl

ayame: trans wlw. she doesn't put a label on her attraction beyond that, she knows she likes girls, she knows she is a girl, and that's all that rlly matters to her rn. she's still working out how to even talk with people, let alone pretty girls, so she doesn't need to stress out about semantics

kanata: trans bi!! briefly considered trans het but i do think she'd like girls, i just see her as having a male lean? she's generally not very interested in relationships, just because she doesn't really socialize a lot with people who aren't patients, so...

kakeru: iiid say bi? i don't have a lot to say here i think he's just chill about things and takes any crushes or anything that happens as it happens. he knows and understands he can't control who he likes, so he's just. waiting for his person :] also i kinda see him as nb anywyas

It seems that “SEPTET for…” was written and composed by a male college student! “To Nanase-san. I’ve always been cheering for you. The first time I ever saw IDOLiSH7 was at a live my girlfriend invited me to. Watching the members singing “RESTART POiNTER”, I was moved by the something, like the bonds felt through your singing voices and your expressions. Seeing the Nanase-san on-stage, speaking, on the verge of tears, I also felt like crying for some reason. I have a younger twin brother, and it seems that he also composes songs. But for some reason, he won’t talk to me about it. So I think, perhaps that’s why the image of everyone communicating on-stage moved me so much. Although “SEPTET for...” is a solo song, it’s one made with the image of IDOLiSH7’s bonds in mind. I’d be glad if you sang this song. I’ll continue to support you from now on as well.”

-Unlikely friendship duo! That's honestly what i love the most about these two as besties, you don't expect someone so sweet and kind like Inori to be hanging around someone so rude and impulsive like Kizuna. But when you think about it, Kanata really is the friend Kizuna needed since she has the patience of a saint and is so nice o literally everyone that she would be there to stick by Kizuna's side and try to comfort/help her even when the rest of the class is tired of her bs or dislikes her for what she does.

-Although I'm sure Kizuna would be kinda annoyed with her at first, since she doesn't interact much with other girls, she would quickly grow to befriend Kanata because really, that's all she wanted, she just wanted a friend that liked her for who she is instead of being around her just for her looks + i think Kanata would actively try to help her steer away from her habits of gold digging and manipulating people while still sticking by her side so there's that.

-Kizuna absolutely teases and plays around with Kanata given their heigh difference. She will rest an arm on the top of her head or wrap them sound her neck, sometimes she will bend down to her level and talk with a baby face just to annoy here.

-Kanata is the person she goes to whenever she gets hurt while practicing a move or cheerleading stunt, it's never something serious to need a whole surgeon for, but it's an excuse to go after Kanata so of course she will take it.

-She will talk about the most random gossip to her, both in person and by phone, stuff Kanata has no interest in knowing about but she'll listen regardless. Tho 99% of the time she will question why/how Kizuna even knows that and if she should really be sticking her nose into whatever mess she's rambling on.

-Sometimes during these talks she will tell Kizuna she probably shouldn't do certain things, and afterwards it's a 50/50 on if she will do it or not now that Kanata adviced against it.

-Kizuna also tends to call her to ask random bullshit sometimes, in most of these occasions it takes Kanata a minute to even process it before she can respond.

-Kizuna listens to Kanata ramble about medicine stuff, almost as much as she listens to her random gossip. She has no interest in the topics but listens pretty attentively since that's her friend talking and seeing how excited she gets doing so it's fun for her.

-She also listens to Kanata complain about certain things in the hospital or her life and just give her two cents on it since most of the time she won't know exaclty how to help, Kanata appreciates having someone to talk about these thinhg at least.

-They tend to watch a lot of movies together, be it on an actual teather or in Kanata's house. They also tend to show each other shows they like every so often, though Kizuna sometimes brings some intentionally bad ones just to see how Kanata will react.

-She shows up to Kanata's house somewhat often, mostly just to talk to see her whenever he feels like it, though sometimes she wil show up to her place under the gist of talking about something random when Kanata can tell there's something bothering her. She will never just open up about things from the start so Kanata has to kinda ease her into it until she's comfortable enough to tell her about her problems, this is how Kanata learned about Kizuna's messy relationship with her parents, why she does the things she does and how she really just wanted someone who would see her for who she is. And it's from these talks that she gives he advice in how to change and Kizuna starts becoming a nicer person.

-I hc Kizuna as a comphet lesbian so when she comes to the realization that she's into girls she goes to the Ando household in a similar fashion and subsequently Kanata ends up being the first person she comes out to. Afterwards she will sometimes show up to gush about crushes or rant her frustrations when it comes to flirting with girls and Kanata has to remind her she's not a relationship adviser.

More info on those two because when do i ever stop to think about them?

-How they first met! This was around the time Akira had been living with Ayame and Kizuna for a little while now and Kizuna decided to bring her to the foundation and see if Doctor Ando could check up on her. While she went after him Akira was sitting around a waiting room when Beni suddenly came up and pulled on the hoodie she was wearing, which startled/scared Akira since she was used to being bullied by other kids her age then and expected something bad to happen, but turns out Beni just wanted to take a look at the teeth pattern the hoodie had since she loves clothes with weird patterns n stuff, she just didn't have a great grasp at social cues then.

When she started talking about it (“What animal do you think these are from?”) Akira realized what was actually happening and awkwardly tried to answer and keep up with Beni when she started complimenting her clothes and then showing off the patterns on her own outfit. She relaxed more when she realized Beni just wanted to talk to her and they kept chatting about clothes and stuff until Kizuna came back and properly introduced them to each other. (-2+2 Kizuna has kept a close relationship to the Ando family since the 6.5 cast was rescued by the foundation out of how close she was to Kanata when she was alive)

(Another loose note here is that as an adult Akira still keeps this hoodie for sentimental reasons since it was a comfort item to her she used to wear all the time before starting to feel comfortable wearing other kinds of clothes, dysphoria hoodie type thing)

-Continuing on Beni not getting social cues well; after their first meeting Akira kept asking her moms to let her stay around the foundation because she knew Beni was usually there and wanted to hang out with her more. She basically was like “Wow my friend! My friend! She's so cool!” after they talked like 3 times while Beni still thought she was just this girl she saw sometimes and it took Akira referring to her as a friend to Mai for Beni to realize that.

-Other than talking, going around and playing sometimes when waiting around the foundation they would take turns playing the Sonic rush games on Beni's ds (a gift from Hamato, it used to be his). Since their families were closed sometimes Akira would go to spend the day in the Ando's house so they have each other while their relatives are at work and schools were still close + with Akira around Beni was less likely to sneak off or do something her family wouldn't approve of.

-It was in one of these days at Beni's house that Akira came out to her (she presented herself as a girl ever since they met but Beni didn't know she was a trans girl you know?) and Beni was like “Uh ok, hey I managed to beat that super hard level we were stuck on!” because she didn't know much about trans people then and didn't realize it was such a big deal to Akira. She apologized and showed support when she explained to her but the whole thing got a good laugh out of Akira by the end.

-After that Beni tried to encourage her to dress more freely and would even let her look into her clothes and borrow some.

-Leaving the kid stuff behind and going back to them as young adults. Beni supports Akira's career in her own way and tends to not actually go to her shows or listen to her music all that much, but she did go in one of Akira's concerts, the first big one she had in a proper arena/music venue actually. Akira was super excited and gave her tickets for it because she was giving to people dear to her and wanted Beni to keep it even if she wasn't going to show up (she didn't pressure her into going), she did end up going to it and while she left with an awful headache, Beni finds that it was all worth it because her being there made Akira's big day even better (she gave her the biggest hug after the show)

-Akira has a bike, sometimes she'll bring Beni places with it or just take her on a ride. They brought bike helmets together and I'm thinking that Beni probably keeps hers herself instead of leaving both with Akira since she could forget the second one but not sure how practical that would be?

- Beni, not being a super outgoing person, doesn't tend to go out much and a lot of the time she gets into things because Akira dragged her into it, like going to the beach or some new interesting place that's opened up. It was on one of these occasions they kissed for the first time and confessed to each other! Akira brought her to an music event/party of sorts and Beni had a terrible time with all the noise and lights, she went on on an empty and quieter area of the building, something like a balcony or rooftop area, and Akira found her a little while after and stayed with her there.

She asked Beni if she wanted to go home but Beni ended up just getting annoyed (more at herself than at Akira) and told her to go back to the party since she was having fun and she didn't want to ruin that too, to which Akira told her that while she was having fun there she wanted them to have fun together and if she's not feeling ok she doesn't mind bringing her back home or just staying with her. This got Beni to just blurt out the question (“Akira do you actually like me? As in, that way?”) and Akira being a pretty bad liar confessed to her right then and there to which Beni responded with a kiss since I doubt she could come up with a coherent sentence by then.

-They went home shortly after (they don't live together tho) and talked about what happened + became a proper couple the other day. When Hamato heard of the news he pulled Akira aside like he was the detective in an interrogation room as if he didn't know this girl since she was like 6 and it made Beni super embarrassed and mad. His overprotectiveness goes a little overboard when it comes to partners.

This doubles as the post for me to shove random information about them i decided to separate these from the other two info posts so those could stay character specific :]

-They know each other since they were kids! Akira first met Beni when Kizuna brought her to the foundation to get a check-up done by Hikaru and while waiting for her exam Beni suddently came up to her and pulled on Akira's hoodie, which startled her but turns out she just wanted to take a good look at the pattern on it since Beni really like that sorta stuff and didn't realise she shouldn't have just grabbed her like that.

-Kizuna introduced Beni to her and the two talked for the rest of the waiting time and from that interaction alone Akira already considered Beni her friend, which led to her asking her moms if she could come to the foundation with them more often so they could talk more. On the other hand Beni didn't get that memo and only realized her and Akira were friends after the two had been seeing eachother for a while.

-As a kid it really bothered Beni how much stuff her family wouldn't tell her, like why she couldn't stay with he dad around the med bay or how Kanata died, because she felt like they were treating her like an idiot and keeping things from her. But Akira talked so much she basically knew everything about her life in a couple days which is why she liked being around her so much.

-Akira had been bullied pretty badly back at the orphanage/shelter she used to live in so Beni was the first kid she interacted with that was nice and friendly to her (which is why she became so easily glued to her), she felt really lucky to have someone like that in her life which is why Akira nicknamed her Clover, as in, a good luck clover.

-She avoided telling her the reason for the nickname for the longest time because she thinks it’s kinda embarrassing, but Beni found it incredibly sweet and comforting too, since she sometimes she wonders why the people she's closest to bother keeping up with her when she's been rude/mean to them a couple times in the past (even though she always apologizes and doesn't really mean what she was saying)

-Beni’s necklace was a birthday gift from Akira! Despite her bad memory she never forgets the date because of the song September by Earth, wind and fire (she's absolutely sung it to annoy her on a few occasions)

-She’s a Kizuna kid after all so you bet Akira teases Beni to get a reaction out of her, she also likes to lift her up and hug/spin her around like she's a silly stuffed animal. She just thinks she looks so so cute when she's blushing, and sometimes will get into this dumbassery and have a good laugh.

-Beni tends to remind Akira of where she's left things or stuff she needs to tend to since her memory can often fail at that, she's also tried her best to comfort her whenever Akira's gotten scared/worried that her memory is getting worse and advises her to look for a doctor to get that checked.

-Akira often calls her at late hours of the night just to ask how her day has been, tell her what she's doing or talk about random shit since she knows Beni is almost certainly still awake either getting things done from work or studying and from that they'll spend hours on call.

-Sometimes Beni will let Akira work on dyeing her hair again or just tending to it with special products since Beni doesn't really bothering taking great care of it. In one of these occasions she accidentally dyed her hair pink and that's the worst fight the two ever had where Beni lashed out at her for it and spent 2 days without taking to Akira (partially because she was mad but also really worried/scared she may have ruined their friendship with that argument)

-During the short period Akira worked at the foundation she would use that as an opportunity to hang out with Beni during lunch breaks and whenever she wasn't too busy. It was then that she started trying to show Beni she liked her more than just a friend, but it took a while for anything to come out of that because struggled to tell if she was just being extra affectionate/friendly or if she was showing interest in her that way.

-It takes Beni straight up asking Akira if she likes her when they're sitting at the roof of this party Akira dragged her into coming (the amount of people and all the noise overwhelmed Beni so he went there to get away from it) for Akira confess her feelings and the two start dating.

-This is a somewhat common occurrence since Beni tends to stick to doing things she's used to and Akira is super outgoing, so it takes her convincing Beni to come along to more unusual places with her like parties, festivals or the beach. Sometimes Beni has a great time, sometimes she gets annoyed but still enjoys it by the end and other times she regrets coming along in the first place, whenever that happens Akira always ends up going after her regardless of what she's doing.

-They tend to hang out mostly around malls, cafes/restaurants and even the Kisaragi foundation still, but another thing the two do together a lot is a slumber party of sorts where they watch a bunch of movies or video essays together.

-Since Beni doesn't deal well with loud atmospheres/noises she doesn't listen to Akira's music all that much since her style is pretty loud, she does support her in other ways such as reading a more organized version of the lyrics of new songs she's working on and giving her thoughts on it and suggesting a few word changes.

-When Akira's first big concert was coming up she gave tickets to her family, friends and to Beni. She made it clear that there was no pressure if she didn't want to come because of all the noise, but she wanted her to have the ticket anyway. Beni ended up going to the concert since she knew how important it was for Akira, she ended up with a terrible headache but thought it was worth it because Akira was overjoyed to see her there.
