Recently I saw a few posts that really re-wired the way I thought about Alfred. Initially, I had given him a large group of friends, but even looking back on a few of my older posts (Alfred being touch starved is one of the main ones - note that I've already edited this to take out prev. mentions of him having a large group of friends, though the rest of the reply is the same.) it really did feel like I was writing an Alfred who is incredibly lonely.

This led me to thinking about my headcanon about Kiku's unrequited love for Alfred. I'd always thought about it as 'being in love with your best friend, but not wanting to change the relationship you have with them', but now I keep thinking of Kiku deciding to distance himself from this person he loves so dearly because he knows they don't feel the same. He spends more time with Italy and Germany, with England, with Taiwan. He makes excuses to stop going over to Alfred's, and to stop Alfred from coming over to his.

He does it to protect himself, and then he realises one day that he and Alfred are no longer friends. It's been fifty years since they've been alone in a room together, and Alfred's confused hurt has transformed into polite indifference. They've gone from being as close as best friends to nothing.

Kiku regrets it, and he realises, horribly, that not seeing Alfred doesn't make him not in love with him. It just makes him miss him on top of that. He's made a mistake he can't fix.

Meanwhile, Alfred doesn't have an Italy or Germany. He's always been alone until Kiku came along, and then all of a sudden he doesn't have him anymore.

Alfred gets used to being alone again. He has an instagram filled with his travels around America and the rest of the world, and his follower count goes up and up as his beautiful photography gets traction around the internet, but people comment on him always being alone. "I hope you're being careful traveling alone, Allie!" a comment reads. "Aww, don't worry," he replies back. "I'm used to it!"

this might be niche but i feel like some nations (cough cough england) have actually nice vocals. and to make things better wait for it- some of them in nations revealed act have singing careers or are in bands. when I listen to my music I think *this is so insert nation* and well. here are some artists I listen to which in my nations revealed au are diff nations instead and my reasons (gonna be long)

starting of strong, england is the lead singer of arctic monkeys, swapping alex turner (sorry king). why? well, first of all, I LOVE the idea of alt arthur. for me, as soon as the mid-60s came around, he started expressing himself more rather than trying to fit in. full on. by the mid 80s he was wearing guyliner, ears and tongue (zooweemama) pierced tattoos, even if the conservative gov at the time disapproved of that. fast forward to the 2020s yeah he's toned it down a little, not guyliner much anymore but still piercings and tattoos. anyways went off topic but yeah. second of all, arthur knows how to play electric guitar. and he can sing. why wouldn't he use that to make a silly band with his friends? for fun? for whimsy? slay.

Belarus is a character that I dislike in canon. Hima did her dirty :(

So here are some headcanons I have for Belarus <3

Her human name is Natallia Arloŭskaja/Arlievič (the last option is gender neutral)

Her nyo! name would be Mikalaj Arloŭskij/Arlievič

Has a complicated relationship with Russia

She is not his sister. I don't think nations are related to each other. Sure, nations can call each other "brother" or "sister", but because they are close to each other and have no romantic feelings, not because they are genetically related.

Perhaps she had a close relationship with him in the past and called him "brother" during that time. But nowadays their relationship is more complicated.

Belarus is extremely worried about her language, as it's getting more and more russified over time.

She is very protective of her own culture and tries to preserve it as much as possible.

She could have been close to Lithuania, as she was part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (I need to do more research about this though...)

I know little about Belarus' history, but she is an interesting character! I will probably talk more about her in the future

Headcanon Time Episode 2

It was a long time ago, but now here is episode 2! What i think they use to fall asleep:

England: He poisoned himself with his dinner

France: he drinks wine until he simply falls over

Greece: bro is already asleep before you even tell him, it is time to sleep

Russia: He listens to true crime podcasts to fall asleep

Romano (South Italy): threaten him if he doesn't want to sleep: if you don't go to bed now, Spain will sing you a lullaby

Spain: bro just woke up 2 hours ago from his siesta. He then fell asleep in front of his TV at 1am.

North Italy: he goes to his brother's room, because he can't sleep (Romano can't do this anymore, please help him)

Switzerland: bro just close his eyes

Liechtenstein: Liechtenstein: Big Brother i can't sleep Switzerland: Just close your eyes and imagine you sleep. Liechtenstein: Thank you Big Brother, i'll try my best!

Germany: Italy talks non stop to him and then he pretends to sleep until he actually does sleep

When you like drawing them (Prussia, France, Belarus)

Prussia

Of course, you would want to draw him! He had such dazzling features, so he’d be more than happy to strike a few poses for you.

He was far from shy and bashful so would be sure that you caught his good side (all of his sides were his good side).

It would go without saying that whatever you drew, whether or not it was of him, would be showered with compliments. He admired your artistic abilities. On the days you were overly critical of your art, he’d be there pointing out specific things he adored about each work of yours.

Even though he had a loud personality, the drawings you did of him when he wasn’t paying attention and simply doing mundane things got the strongest reaction out of him. This reaction was quiet in comparison to the others but was felt the most deeply.

He could understand why you’d want to draw him in a pose or doing something iconic, but seeing how much care you put into capturing his quieter moments made his heart skip a beat.

Such things were deemed as unimportant to him—not worth capturing, especially when the method was talent based. Why you thought the opposite was a mystery, and yet he was thankful for it.

France

You flattered him, honestly. He would ask if you had any specific ideas in mind so as to help pose if need be. Any props you needed him to hold to get the proportions just right would gladly be modeled with.

He did his best not to sneak peaks because he’d rather it be a surprise. Needless to say, he was nothing short of amazed with whatever the final version was—the artist was near and dear to him, meaning each work was cherished by him regardless what it was of.

There were plenty of moments he looked over at you, admiring the way you furrowed your brow in concentration. Some of the motions you made while thinking through the positions got him chuckling.

When you asked what was so funny, he waved it off by saying a random thought had crossed his mind.

There were no favorites of his. He enjoyed every style you drew in. Sure, he had a preference towards the softer and cuter depictions of himself and the other things you drew, but that never meant he saw the darker choices you made as less than extraordinary.

He enjoyed art and drew from time to time, so he’d offer to set time aside to do it together—forming a stronger bond was the overall goal.

Belarus

She wouldn’t enjoy it at first. Her insecurities would come through, ruining the precious bonding potential it held. The main reason for the cold shoulder it signaled was her not fully understanding why you wanted to.

You showed her some cute doodles you did of her, and that was what changed her mind. She came around, albeit slowly, but eventually learned to appreciate it for what it was—a sign of your adoration for her.

She’d want to sit next to you and watch the process unfold. However, she was horribly awkward about it. When you looked up at her coming over to you, she chickened out, blaming you for making her feel weird about it.

You didn’t think much of this behavior. It was just her way of attempting to reach out, so you ignored it and showed her the drawings once having finished.

The more open you were with showing your works, the more comfortable she got to the idea of you drawing her. Deep down, she enjoyed how you portrayed her—there was a beauty and delicacy in the strokes you made.

When she felt enough at ease, you had some stern-faced company looking over your shoulder as you drew. That was fine though. She was simply mesmerized by your technique and wished to observe it was all.

I feel like very few nations actually live in their capitals (they still do have flats or anything there for work reasons but they don't like.. live there)

Belarus lives in Begoml, Norway in buttfuck nowhere, Romano lives in Frosinone, Veneziano in Rovigo, Poland in Zielonka

Iceland lives a bit outside of Reykjavik and Greece lives in Athens

The more I think about it, the more I believe it had to be SO common for female nations to crossdress in order to not be discriminated against. There were obviously some points in history where it was “”okay”” for them to be females with power, but at some point or another, they had to pretend to be male. And now I’m tearing up thinking about how these ladies must’ve felt when they were finally able to present as themselves (or maybe some preferred being male, that’s equally as interesting).

And yes I watched Barbie so now I’m contemplating womanhood and I’m in my hetalia brainrot again and I always get so intrigued by the female nations and how hard it must’ve been for them to just exist. “What was I made for” indeed. 😭

Some Games Arthur Enjoys

Legend of Zelda: Fantasy aspects, swordfighting, fairies, plot, pretty art styles, unique characters, fairy tale vibes, puzzle solving.

Fire Emblem: Strategy game, basically like playing chess with a plot, medieval elements, magical creatures, etc.

Endless Ocean: Diving for treasure, sunken ruins, beautiful underwater locations, exploring, lots of animals, a mythology filled plot and lots of legend-based side quests, sailing.

Animal Crossing: Gardening, designing a town, cute animals, relaxing, a way to visit friends. He plays with Alfred, Kiku, Natalya, and several other nations. Let's be honest, a lot of them probably like this game.

Witch's House: Witches, fairy tale like, puzzle solving, creepy atmosphere, unsettling plot twist, he gets to laugh every time America is jumpscared.

Ib: Interesting mystery and story, puzzle solving, creepy atmosphere, multiple intriguing endings, he gets to laugh every time America is jumpscared.

Catherine: Puzzle game, entertaining story, dramatic, nice ambience, fun to dissect and discuss the characters and details.

Smash: He's competitive and likes taking the opportunity to try and beat the others, what can I say? Mains Link and Pit.

Ivan Braginsky from Hetalia absolutely has scary dog privilege and his sisters 1000% use that to their advantage in modern times when even the youngest of the family isn’t scary enough to detour unwanted attention.

The other nations, especially Alfred, think it’s funny because this man doesn’t normally touch Alt fashion all that much and is only visually intimidating because of his height on a good day.

Mans deadass is a somewhat baby faced, 6 foot 10 inch tall, “built like a brick shit house” muscular man who’s got cannon combat/war time experience but the fashion sense of what can be best described as “Pastel Househusband/Babushka”. Ivan “I knit cute sweaters for fun” Braginsky has mastered the hidden art of controlling a resting bitch face because he’s known his baby sister her whole life and just happened to pick it up at some point in their childhood.

(Ivan also uses it to his advantage when people are just too loud an annoying for this taste that day….*cough*Alfred*cough*…)

Belarus' human name

Shout out to @/belarusismymom (tiktok), as this post is inspired by one of their tiktoks.

So... In canon, Belarus is called Natalya or Natalia. But actually, that is not accurate, as that is a name that is more Russian than Belarusian.

How can we name her instead?

We can call her Natallia (in honor to the Belarusian poetess Natallia Arsenneva), and her surname would be Arloŭskaja (instead of Arlovskaya).

For her nyo! version, his name could be Mikalaj Arloŭskij (which is more accurate)

These are small changes, but I think it improves the character. Small details like these make characters memorable and more enjoyable, at least that is what I think.

Besides, Belarusian is becoming more and more Russified, and even though I love Russian culture, the Belarusian language is crucial for their culture as well, and sadly it can disappear if it keeps being heavily Russified.

Hetalia Characters as different Teachers (baltics/eastern europe)

based on my experiences as someone in the education field (ALSO doing this in groups so it's not HUGE)

Poland: MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE. i think he can take it and dish it out, like he does not care. he does have a softer spot for the shy kids and tries his best to help them work thru socially anxious moments

Lithuania: he gives me...... AP Euro/world history vibes, definitely coaches basketball. i think his pedagogy is largely based on "every student has the ability to achieve" and holds each of his students to high expectations

Estonia: at first i was like "omg calculus, NERD" but i thought abt it again, he's a music teacher, no doubt. specifically elementary school, and he runs an after school choir program.

Latvia: TOUGH ONE. i think........ i think i see him like....... middle school orchestra. he always gave me cello vibes. he has to work really hard on his classroom management since he practically looks their age

Belarus: girly is middle school math. nothing gets to her. she is made of steel. she definitely comes more alive when she's coaching girls' volleyball

Ukraine: not a teacher, elementary school guidance counselor!! she is very sweet and builds strong relationships with the students she works with

Headcanon Time Episode 3

It's a about a month when the last Headcanon post came online (i totaly forgot this shit hahaha) I asked you witch scenario you want and @bulgariandeficit wrote that they like to see what they do when they're sad or lonely! So here is it! (its a little bit shit post as always💀🙏)

England: He talks to his imaginary friends about his problems and eats (PURCHASED) scones and then he cuddles with his big unicorn plushie (yes, I imagine he has a big pink unicorn plushie, hahaha)

France: I guess he will try to talk to someone but realize that everyone is crazy as shit so he drinks until he falls asleep, lol

Greece: He cuddles with his cats and/or visits his friend Japan to hang out, talk about all kinds of things, and tell him that he has been diligently learning Japanese since the last time they met.

Russia: I guess he's someone who just annoys other people in order to suppress his grief and such

Romano (South Italy): eats spaghetti

Spain: sleeps and eats when he's awake

North Italy: going to his big brother and crying like and telling what happens and stuff. Romano is like the person who's like in the first moment: bro wtf but then comforts him (WITH SPAGHETTI)

Switzerland: He has 26 cantons, one of them is Uri so let me explain! Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden (today Obwald and Nidwald) were the first cantons. They swore loyalty to each other through the Rütlischwur and such and that's how Switzerland was ''born''. This means that Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden are theoretically older than Switzerland, which is why they are like aunt, mother and uncle characters in my, as yet unpublished, web manga (Helvetia Friends Club). However, since Unterwalden has died (because it is now Nidwald and Obwald), only Schwyz and Uri are left. I think he will have to leave his house and go to Uri and visit her.

Liechtenstein: I guess she's visiting ukraine and/or Hungary. Or she sews dresses or crochets cute animals and then puts them all over her house and gives a few away to start a conversation with others.

Germany: he will go on walk with his dog(s)

Belarus: She will write fanfictions about her brother and fight against cats
