What would you do if you’re a Showrunner/writer on glee?

I don't think i have the abilities and qualifications to write a tv show, but i notice when the writers are becoming lazy and when there are flaws in the writing bc these flaws arrive at the spectator who watches the show. One the first things i would do is make faberry canon like it was intended in the first script of glee (there was a script before the pilot in which the popular cheerleader fell in love with the girl loser of the school, but the idea/project was abandoned). I would give more space to wlw pairings bc while the mlm rep in glee was diverse and deepened, the wlw rep was okay thanks to brittana but had too little screen time. So i would make two wlw pairing (faberry and brittana) have more development and space in the show. I would defo treat quinn's character arc way better than ryan murphy, i wouldn't have throwed that character in the trash after s3, i would have developed her personal story more and her relationship with rachel. Quinn is a very queer coded character, so i would have prob given more space to her journey of coming to terms with her sexuality (prob would have made her a lesbian who struggled a lot with comphet in highschool bc of her rigid catholic upbringing). I also would not make quinn end up with her r@pist (puck got her drunk to have sex with her even though she didn't want to, the consent was basically nonexistent and pretty dubious so that's why i consider him a rapist).

Another change i would make is give more performances to characters like santana and mercedes bc as much as i love rachel, i feel like amber's and naya's talent were underused. I would have given less solos to kurt and more to them.

I would also make rachel bisexual cos there's no way that girloser does not like women, and what i would do is make her "experiment"/have a sort of friendship with benefits with Santana in s4 cos before they broke apart they were pretty close and had a nice intimacy and chemistry, Santana had broken up with Brittany, so i think a thing between them in which rachel full blown realises she likes girls too (and later realises she had always been in love with quinn/had a crush on quinn since highschool) and Santana trying out different bonds with girls before understanding she wants brittany only, would have been nice to make both characters grow and mature.

I would keep the quinntana one night stand bc i feel like that was really important for quinn to finally accept she liked girls and therefore that rachel had always been the one she really wanted. But how would that work if you plan to make Santana bang both rachel and quinn ? Well i would simply make rachel a thing with santana at the end of s4, after santana and quinn's one night stand (it doesn't even have to be necessarly sex or a physical relationship, but a bond in which rachel starts to see santana in a different light and finds her really hot and starts questioning herself and santan teases her about it but also gives her a wake up call "you're bi gayberry" or something like that, these are the two options).

I would keep kurt and blaine as they are but i wouldn't have made blaine have a thing with karosfky, that was just foul.

Also less performances from mr. Schue bc what the fuck was blurred lines.

Maan this is a fun question because... Yes I read a lot but I doubt it's popular literature? 😂 I prefer classic litterature, notably 18th to mid 20th century works, also some fantasy of the 19-20th century too like Lovecraft or Verne.

I'm currently reading "Nausea" by Sartre. Highly recommend, it has a very unique vibe. If you like stilistics I'd recommend authors like Flaubert or Dostoyevsky. If you're into horror H.P. Lovecraft or Aleister Crowley are classics, my fav is "The Lurking Fear" by Lovecraft.

Also I really really love "The picture of Dorian Grey" and anything by Zola.

If you're into more modern and popular but classy stuff, first thing in mind is "The silence of the lambs" by Herris. Latest one I finished was "The history of cannibalism" by Roland Villeneuve. If you like english authors anything by Virginia Wolf is peak.

Dystopian fantasies like "Animal Farm" and "Brave new world" (which i LOVE) are must read in a lifetime.

This was few on the top of my head, I used to read a lot more sci-fi and fae fiction when I was younger but it's not so much of a thing for me anymore, and I can't rly remember the names/authors of all the books I read back then they were so many.. But if you watched Coraline I recommend reading the book too, it's a bit different than the movie, it's short and written in a simple yet eery style.

This is probably not gonna be what you were looking for I'm sorry shhswjsjsjsj I know I give off a goofy flavor bcs I watch cartoons but I am a HUGE nerd for literature and I love love to read all kinds of stuff and writing styles, so u may have made a mistake of asking this w/o knowing😭😅🙏😔

EDIT: WAIT NO I REMEMBERED THIS ONE called "The japanese lover" by Isabelle Allende, I read that a long time ago but it is so rich, it brushes the topic of a polish woman struggling in a marriage without love and coping in an oppressed country during WW2. No spoilers but as title says she actually gets to meet a japanese nazi solder who ironically helps her uncover her sexuality and ability to truly love and be loved. It's one of those few good books that really represents woman's POV in that era. It's much more than this BUT THIS IS VERY GOOD I RECOMMEND

Hi, just curious do you have any sources for the point you made in one of your recent posts about how there was an actual script before the Glee pilot that was about the popular cheerleader being in love with the girl loser? I have never seen or heard anything like that before so if you don’t mind me asking I was wondering if you could share more about where that info came from?

Hello there, well this is kinda old news so idk how to give you the source of this, but basically ryan murphy/his collegues wrote a script for a show (which i don't remember if it was for glee or for a whole different project) in which the story basically revolved around this girl who was the loser of the school with whoom the popular cheerleader fell in love with, does it ring any bells ? 😌.

Now probably we can even speculate that rachel and quinn were based off the characters of this script that was never published nor realised bc their relationship and characterization is very close this pilot. ryan murphy and the others abandoned the idea very soon to dedicate themselves to what would have become the glee tv show, so yeah maybe in another universe we could have had faberry canon or a wlw pairing with a dynamic similar of the one rachel and quinn had bc the plan in this "og" script was to make the two female characters become a pair.

Now it's been many years so i don't remember if this whole loser/cheerleader was just a rumor or real or a tumblr post, so i can't tell you how accurate is this info.
