Annual Leave

I spent 16 days touring across East Asia and Southeast Asia. I made a lot of friends throughout the solo trip and that's all thanks to Pelle. You see, I did say to people that I have a solo trip and just luckily made tons of friends, but it's always been a game of two from the get go.

I was so stressed out in my first day when I landed in Japan. They don't like or feel too comfortable to converse in English and boy it was a great sight yet so draining due to all the confusion. So I resorted to my back-up plan that I stored in my suitcase once I checked in to my hotel to relieve me from the stress of this whole solo trip. Pelle is a friend of mine that came from millions of light years away. He's been very important for me as he helped me to solve my bullies problem ever since my senior year of high school until now in my 3rd year with my roommate and those frat boys. Pelle slid off the jar quickly as soon after I opened the lid and just like that, he was gone for the moment as he already knew what it meant for him when he's released.

Around an hour later, someone knocked my hotel room and when I opened the door, this Japanese guy starts speaking in an accented English telling me to skip shower and let him guide me around the bustling megacity. A quick glance to his eyes confirmed my suspicion, Pelle override whoever this guy is already and used his body as as vessel

Aki shown me around his hometown, Tokyo, and then packed his bag to the countryside for 3 days where his built and of-course-fluent Japanese helped us to survive and have fun without getting lost.

I think the time where he practically slut me out to the whole onsen where my head was pistoned in several succesive cocks truly left a memorable impact in me. Pelle's decision to take over Aki's body back in Tokyo despite me insisting on making this trip an actual solo trip was eye-opening (and hole-opening of course). Not only did that solve a lot of potential problem, having a local guide that you can have fun together with and not going to be fussy about your itinerary is a total blessing because it's still feels like the one that drive the trip is you and you only have someone to fully help you around.

But Japan was just the first out of many country I planned to visit. Pelle slid out of Aki in one of the toilet in Narita, and minutes later he messaged me that he already joined the flight directed to my next destination, Beijing. During the flight, I got informed by the flight attendant that my seat was upgraded to Business Class. I was quite suspicious to the studly flight attendant but as soon as I got escorted to the Business Class section, the flight attendant quickly shoved me to the carpeted floor much to my surprise. He then said

"Sniff and bark like the dog you are!"

I glared at him wildly, but then I realized that he's merely puppeteered by Pelle. So, Pelle is not inside the flight attendant any longer and he's instead hidden in one of this private cabin. After forced to be on all fours sniffing my way to find in which section the mysterious guy hid himself, I finally caught whiff of this leathery perfume and oaky stench. That's when I opened the private cabin to eventually stumbled with the sole passenger in the Business Class section.

"You found me,"

"Not like you can hide such strong smell,"

I once again got shoved by the flight attendant that just came outta nowhere, and then I literally fell on top of this buff young guy with his chiseled face and equally appetizing body. I can smell him even clearer now, he even smelled expensive yet super sexy too and he just giggled at me for being so awestruck with him

"Never been so up close and personal witb a hunk like me, huh?"

Which is clearly wrong because all those frat boys already left me cop a feel anyway, but I did have to admit that this guy is great on his own way.

He's a Beijing native and he own a pad overlooking the city where I stayed for 3 days having the best time getting pampered by him.

He also introduced me to his 2 best friends who willingly tag-teamed to destroy my hole from both ends while he's busy working in the next room.

Pelle's control on the young, cocky businessman is a true masterwork on its own, but the way Pelle managed to also affect the businessman's two best friends without even needed to slid into them clearly shown how amazing his computational capability to manage 3 different human being doing activities of their own.

Then, after some digging, Pelle realized that the young businessman also have private jet he rarely used because he knew it was totally monitored by his parents. After influencing the pilot (that's also in his parents paycheck) to ensure that no tracking devices left behind the private jet, he let me use his private jet for the remainder of my trip. I asked the pilot to drop me in Hanoi.

I went to Hanoi a lot during my childhood since my dad is a Vietnamese immigrant but I've never been in Hanoi ever since I graduated elementary school. My companion in Hanoi was Van, a gym cutie I stumbled in this rooftop bar I went to during my 2nd night in the city.

Pelle slid into Van when he eventually left his table that he shared with his 5 other friends for some quick fix in the restroom. Pelle did give Van a quick fix as the loud-mouthed asshole that slapped on girl's butt that went pass his table all night long turned into a horny gay motherfucker as he rode me to town in the cramped bathroom stall. We consummated our relationship all over town as he literally fucked me in his parked G-Wagon before heading for some 2 AM pho fix. Van lived in a high-rise apartment paid by this lady that frequent his gym and paid him as her boytoy. Pelle observed that Van's misogyny and rudeness came from the fact that he's self-aware that he's practically just a slut and that hurted his ego and I just nodded in silence when he explained all that. I don't know, I wanted to pity him but at the same time, isn't it his life choices? Who am I to judge anyway, he's just a guide too for me to shown me around so I decided to not be too sentimental about some life story of random meat puppet my alien friends worn

Van continued on to become my Vietnamese trip companion as I went to Sa Pa, Da Nang and closed the Vietnamese leg in Ho Chi Min.

We left his body in the hotel room in the old quarters of Ho Chi Minh as I travel to Bangkok, still with the trusted private jet Pelle made the businessman let me use. In retrospect, I think Pelle enjoyed our Thailand leg the most. The country was in the middle of a heat wave when we came so everyone was wearing the thinnest shirt possible and the club is filled with people ditching their shirts and just danced the night away. That's when I also stumbled with Pat, who didn't even need to be taken over by Pelle to be nice to me.

I just instantly have a good vibe from seeing him and talk to him briefly, but alas, I'm not here for niceties and it was actually thrilling to see how Pelle made that beautiful face of his smirked when he managed to take over Pat's body and directed me to meet him in the club's bathroom.

Pat, obviously, is a model and social media personality. An engagement for a brand in Pattaya the following day caused us to tag along for that event where Pat influenced one of his local friends to show me around while he's shooting all day. That's when I realized that Pat might be too busy of an individual to show me around so I contacted Pelle to just left his body. You know what he did instead? He wrapped up the shoot in lightning speed as he influenced the producer to not ask him for another take and then solely guided me around the places while occasionally grumbling on how I would be punished later for making him do all this work and almost jeopardizing his career.

We spent 4 days in total in Thailand and Pelle, as Pat, showered me with attention, affection and his seemingly unrelenting amount of cum. He was the light of the party so it was easy for him to lure in some friends that quickly turned into a temporary additional muscle puppet as he put his own friends under his control. We literally spent our final night in Bangkok fucking like there's no tomorrow, the crowd of Pat and his friends all trying to get a piece of action with me and with each other as if they weren't bunch of straight guys or married man themselves before Pelle's takeover of Pat and the subsequent mind control he unleashed to these oblivious men. As we finished with him and his friends, we just silently left him in the aftermath of the orgy in his apartment to close off my Thailand's leg and headed to the real closing leg of my holiday trip

The final part of the trip put me in Bali where the jet eventually returned back to China too after we landed in the airport. Pelle of course remained by my side as we went into this well-known beach side gym with outdoor setting where one of my bully, Kyle, already waited for me and Pelle. He's been taken over by Pelle before so there will be no issue for Pelle to slid back into Kyle and after that, we departed back to the States

*** 18 hrs later, Hamad International Airport, United Arab Emirates ***

"What do you think of Europe?" asked Pelle through Kyle as he already in control of the jock's brain ever since our meet-up in the beach yesterday

"Huh? What are you talking about? My leave----"

He shushed me and then he winked at me as he motioned me to look into the opposing chair where a stud comfortably manspread in the chair with his headphone on while his left hand rested on that visibly hard groin. I licked my lips, thinking about Pelle making that dude's mine for the time being until we get called to board. But then, Kyle whispered to my ear

"What if I told you that you could be him?"

takes place fall of will’s first dev program year (samy is a junior) this was genuinely so fun to write. i added some more plot to it, i hope that’s okay, but keep sending in requests for the wonder years i love writing their younger dynamic!

a weekend of no hockey games? not even traveling? those types of weekends were rare for the boys.

they'd been on the move since the start of the season in august meaning two straight months of nonstop hockey every day, every week, every weekend. things were hectic–chaotic even—but they loved it. playing hockey everyday? it was the dream and so was finally getting to sleep in on saturday morning without worrying about waking up at ungodly hours for morning practice.

the boys scattered themselves across the hughes family living room after a long night in ann arbor. what other way would they spend their free weekend besides driving an hour to samy's house where ellen welcomed them with open arms—secretly excited that her house was filled with people again.

things were quiet now that the brothers were gone even though luke came back every weekend to do his laundry.

samy excitedly showed them around the city she grew up in for most of her life with will chirping in every now and then with tidbits from the places he's visited. surprisingly, the boys were really into the museum of art by the university, especially ryan and drew.

"no way someone painted that," ryan mumbled as their gazes stared up at the large 4 foot painting hanging off the wall.

"i could do it better," aram shrugged earning a slap on the arm from jacob.

"no you could not," the brunette muttered, shaking his head.

the two began quietly bickering about who could paint better. will rolled his eyes before flicking over to briefly meet samy's gaze who lingered beside the blonde. she softly giggled at his friends' antics which resulted in a soft smile on the boy's lips.

"i'd really like to see you guys try and paint," samy cut into their bickering as she led the way to the next painting.

"you think we can't paint?" jacob raised his eyebrow at the girl. she only shrugged.

"let's be real, you can't paint to save your life," ryan added with his own laughter.

"uh, i can to. i took art classes my freshman year," jacob defensively crossed his arms.

"ooh, so cool," ryan's mimicry voice made the group laugh.

the banter didn't stop the entire time they were in the art museum. at least not until they made it to the natural history museum where the boys were really excited to look at dinosaurs. samy couldn't help but giggle as she watched the six boys hurry to see the t-rex up close.

"how do you think they got it here?" gabe wondered.

"a plane?" drew raised his eyebrow. the dark-haired boy smacked him on the arm, rolling his eyes. "smartass," gabe mumbled.

"what's your favorite dinosaur?" will wondered over the commotion of the other guys.

the girl's eyes slid to his, sparking some in the light while she thought about her answer. "good question. i really like rhinos. they don't have any in this museum though," she finally decided with a tiny smile.

"didn't quinn buy you a rhino stuffed animal however many years ago?" the blonde asked.

"he did! it was like my 7th birthday or something. i can't believe you remembered that," the youngest hughes chuckled.

"only because i remember we sent you the nerf guns after being upset all summer that your brothers had them and you didn't," will informed making samy laugh again.

"those were the best gift. i think we still have them in our basement somewhere, but i definitely lost all the..what do you call them? pellets?" the two shared another small laugh before the group headed to a different exhibit.

after the museums, luke graciously met up with all of them and took them to dinner close to campus (but secretly ellen sent him money to pay for all eight of them because poor luke was a broke college student). the boys were definitely excited to see luke and they got him into a long conversation about hockey and what college was like.

samy and will were at one at one end of the table where they immersed themselves in their own conversation again letting the others talk luke up because the two already saw him all the time.

"happy there's no saturday practice tomorrow?" the brunette wondered, sipping on her lemonade.

"mhm. i don't think i've really slept in since like..i moved here," will chuckled.

"do you ever sleep in though? i'm pretty sure i always hear you awake at like eight in the morning with luke and jack at the lake house," samy raised her eyebrow which brought a flush to will's face.

"you gotta get up early to hit the green," the boy argued referring to all the times they went golfing.

"oh, right, right. how could i forget?" samy made a face.

a small silence settled between them as their eyes drifted down the table where their friends excitedly talked with luke. something warmed in both of their chests seeing how well they everyone got along. samy really couldn't be more happier that will introduced her to these boys and seeing how much her brother loved them all too. will thought the exact same thing.

the two years ahead were gonna be the best years. will knew it and so did samy.

it was late when the group made it back to the hughes house. ellen and jim already had the air mattresses blown up meaning everyone immediately collapsed on sight after changing into pajamas. samy made herself comfortable beside will who briefly scrolled through his phone. the girl had a small cup of ice cream in her hand, quickly offering some to the blonde.

"mm love rocky road," will hummed as he took the bite.

"i know we have the same taste," the brunette giggled. she fished around for the remote before turning the tv on the lowest setting and flipping to some random movie playing.

the girl stretched out, letting her eyes grow sleepy. her head dipped onto will's shoulder making the boy flush briefly before he hooked his arm around her own shoulders. this wasn't abnormal for the two, especially after the past summer. they'd become a lot more touchy with one another, always poking and prodding—so a head on the shoulder as samy fell asleep wasn't something the two thought twice about.

not until the morning where they were in the same position except samy's head fell more onto will's chest with one of her arms spread out across his torso. the guys woke up before they did and ryan was the first one to notice the sleeping pair curled up on the couch together.

"dude, look," the brunette nudged drew's shoulder who slowly sat himself up while rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"are we sure smitty doesn't like her?" drew mumbled with a tiny snicker.

"he's gotta or something. i mean look at them!" ryan exclaimed.

all of the guys were still in denial about will saying he didn't have feelings for samy and never has. they were literally staring at the two asleep together. gabe, aram, and jacob woke up a few minutes later hearing ryan and drew's voices.

"why are you guys talking so damn loud?" aram grumbled.

"look at smitty and hughesy," ryan urged his friends. the other three shifted their gazes towards the sleeping pair and they immediately understood what the fuss was about.

"damn. if i didn't know any better.." jacob trailed off earning laughs across the group.

"should we wake them up?" gabe asked as ryan took some pictures on his phone for later use whenever will wanted to try and deny his feelings.

"i think your voices were loud enough.." samy's eyes fluttered open. the boys immediately quieted down, but the smirks didn't disappear on their faces.

samy slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. will shifted against the couch, his own eyes opening up too.

"good morning love birds," ryan sang.

"oh this again," samy playfully rolled her eyes.

"what do you mean this again? you guys were literally cuddling," aram pointed out and all of the guys nodded in agreement.

"and?" the girl raised her eyebrow, gazing over at will briefly who was now fully awake.

"and? y'all are acting like a couple!" ryan exclaimed again.

samy and will instantly bursted into laughter which left the boys silent and confused.

"no, no we're just friends," the brunette got out through her laughter.

"friends don't cuddle," drew cut in.

"yes they do. i cuddle with my friends all the time. you guys are just afraid to," samy argued, pushing herself off the couch. she looked down at will for confirmation. he saw the guys' looks, knowing exactly what they were thinking.

"come on, we're just friends. it's nothing," the boy agreed with samy.

"exactly, thank you. can we stop making a big deal out of it and get breakfast?" the boys looked between the two for a few more seconds before deciding to drop the subject for now, but still not believing a word either of them said.

The reader is friends with the group, she's Dani's best friend, and of course Pelle has a thing for her, he always tries to make any sort of excuses to touch her. She's invited to Sweden along the rest, and she's tricked into a sort of ritual where it's "decided" that Pelle and her are to be married. When she finds out she's mad and she wants to leave. Then you decide how to end it. Like she stays? She escapes? Is she kidnapped? You choose.❤️❤️❤️ I basically just found your blog, and I read almost all your work, and I love it! You're a great writer 👏

“Do you remember Pelle?” Dani asked. You looked up from your phone. She was sitting on her bed, against the wall, arms wrapped around herself as she thought. Her phone had been recently discarded on the bed. You were sitting at her desk chair. You thought about Pelle, the gentle guy with the gentle smile.

“Yeah sure. He’s nice. Why?” You meant he was nice in that he was nicer than the rest of Christian’s friends. They were okay but they were guys and tended to act that way no matter who was around.

“He’s invited me to Sweden with him and the others.” You raised an eyebrow.

“They’re going to Sweden?”

“Pelle lives there,” she explained. “He’s going home and everyone else is going to visit where he lives. It’s supposed to be some kind of commune or something.” You sat up, putting your phone down.

“Are you going?” She shrugged.

“I don’t know if he wants me there. Christian, I mean. I don’t know if he just invited me to be polite.”

“You said Pelle invited you.”

“Well he seemed happy I was going but I don't really know him. I mean, he talks to you more than he talks to me.” You shrugged. You and Pelle had been friendly through the semester, simply because you go whenever Dani wants you to and Christian drags his friends around like dead weights. You narrowed your eyes at her, unsure what she was getting at.

“Do you want to go?”

“Yeah, I think so. I mean, I should get out of the house right?” You nodded.

“I think it’s a good opportunity. I mean, Sweden! That’s so cool.”

“Pelle extended the invitation to you as well,” Dani explained. You raised an eyebrow. You didn’t know the others that well and you knew Christian about as well as anyone knows their best friend's boyfriend. “You don’t have to come but I think I would be more comfortable if you were there too. I’m not sure how I’m going to react and I don’t know Christian’s friends that well and I don’t know the place and-”

“Relax Dani. When is it? I’ll check my schedule.” She grabbed her phone and started to scroll through, looking through the dates.

“We’d get there on my birthday.” You smiled a bit.

“That’s perfect. I didn’t think you should spend your birthday here anyway.” You shrugged. “I’ll go. I mean, I should probably look at how much it’ll cost and stuff but it could be fun. Right?” You didn’t deny how nice it would be to spend more time with Pelle, this time on his home turf.

“Really?” You nodded, shrugging. She smiled easily, shoulders dropping the tenseness.

“Yeah Dani. It’s for your birthday, how about that?”

Pelle grabbed your hiking backpack as you approached the car. The drive was supposed to be over four hours and you were all stuck in the same van, along with all your luggage. You weren’t exactly excited for the overwhelming boy aura that would come along with it.

“Thank you,” you said, gently. He nodded once, a kind smile on his face.

“Of course. I’m so glad you could come,” he expressed.

“Me too! It’s so exciting to see your home.” He shut the back of the car. Everyone else had gotten into their spots in the car. You called shotgun the second you got off the plane and you were grateful for it. Dani was squished in the back beside Christian, her window already down for some air. The sticky hot air was indicative of a nice morning turning into a nice day. You hoped this car had air conditioning. “Is there anything I should know? I’m sorry I don’t know a lot of Swedish, other than what you taught me.”

Pelle had been giving you words here and there, trying to get you to pronounce things correctly. It was kind of a lost cause but it was fun regardless.

“It’s probably going to be foreign at first. There are some things Americans aren’t exactly used to.”

“Like what?” “It’s easier for you to just see. But I assure you, you’re always safe.” He walked to the front of the car. You stood there a moment longer, unsure why you would need to worry about your safety. You pushed it out of your head, walking to the passenger seat. “Everyone buckled in?” Pelle asked, turning the car on.

There was a chorus of yeah’s, followed by a couple seat belts buckling in. You adjusted to be comfortable in your seat and prepared for the drive.

“Keep your hands, arms and feet inside at all times,” you joked. “The show is about to begin.”

The hike to Pelle’s home was nice, if not a bit hot. Eventually you found yourself settled into beds, backpacks finally down, feet resting. You were itching for a shower but didn’t want to ask about it. You had been showered with kindness, large slightly unnerving smiles and flower crowns. Pelle sat beside you in the grass as everyone started to explore. They found themselves in their own bubbles, the dancers and the educators. Even Dani was able to find some sort of place alongside those who were making dinner. You kept a keen eye on her, just in case.

The sun not going down tripped up your inner clock. It had to be closer to midnight than it was to midday.

“This place is beautiful,” you admitted and you meant it. The sense of disconnect from the rest of the world was somewhat jarring. You could tell how someone could enjoy a life out here. “I can’t imagine why you’d ever leave.” Pelle smiled gently. He was leaning back on the palms of his hands. You picked at the overgrown grass under your fingertips.

“It’s slightly limited,” he assured you. “I wanted to see what the rest of the world had to offer.” You shrugged.

“Then decided to come back?”

“This is my home,” he said wistfully.

“Home is where the heart is.” He nodded once. You looked back towards him, squinting in the sun. He seemed used to it, like it had no effect on him. “That was cheesy.”

“But true!” he promised. “Things are cheesy for a reason.” You laughed a bit.

“I think that's a classic,” you argued. He shook his head. “When does the sun set?”

“I thought I told you earlier that it doesn’t.” He leaned forward and gestured to the blue sky. “The midnight sun can go for days. Sometimes just a day, depending on the time of year.” You nodded, opening your mouth to ask another question when Ingemar approached the two of you.

“Good evening,” he said happily.

“It’s evening?” you scoffed. “See, this whole thing is messing with my inner clock. You got a wristwatch?” Both men shook their heads. You weren’t sure why you even asked. They probably still used the stick in ground timing method out here. Or maybe they didn’t even care and simply went about their days as thought time didn’t matter at all. You weren’t sure you could ever adjust to that.

“May I sit?” You and Pelle nodded. He sat down beside Pelle, getting comfortable on the hillside. “Are you both ready for the pairing tomorrow?” Pelle gave Ingemar a look.

“What pairing?”

“It’s silly, really. It’s part of the festival.”

“You haven’t told her?” Ingemar questioned. He laughed, making you feel left out. You weren’t sure why Pelle wanted all of this to be some sort of mystery to you. You wondered if it would lose its charm if you knew what was going to happen. But the pairing sounded somewhat sexual and you wanted to know if you were entering a sex cult or something.

“After the Attestupa tomorrow the elders make five pairings of people. It’s like…superstition. Whichever pairing seems to be best put together by the end of the festival gets to be married.” You scoffed.

“Married? Like a legit wedding?”

“As legit as we get around here. There is no paperwork or church to defy,” Ingemar explained.

“What’s the Attestupa?” you asked. You didn’t want to be insensitive to everything going on but you poked around for the sake of your sanity.

“Another thing easier seen than said,” Pelle explained.

“You are being awfully mysterious Pelle. Should I be worried?” He shook his head.

“No, not at all.”

After the Attestupa you were about to leave. Dani’s panic attack, which was justified after the events you had all witnessed, caused you to jump into protective mode. It was too early in her grieving process to be seeing death at all, let alone death right in front of her. It didn’t matter what kind of processes the people here went through, she needed to leave.

It was Pelle who convinced you both to stay. He apologized, assuring you both that nothing like that would happen again soon. It was part of the world he grew up in and didn’t think he needed to protect you from something he saw as normal.

You waited for Dani’s go ahead. When she said she would stay, so did you.

Then came the pairing.

The elders gathered everyone around the table again. They had a scroll out in front of them and you stood next to Dani, teetering back and forth on the balls of your feet. Pelle assured you there would be no deaths here. This was about the rebirth of those who had just died, the children that would be had from the couples paired together. You looked around, wondering which people had been waiting for this their entire lives.

Then your name was called.

Pelle and you.

Ingemar and Connie.

Then other names you didn’t know, people that had lived here their whole lives. Your eyes were still bursting out of your head from the time they brought you and Pelle up, gave you intertwining floral headgear and showed you to one of the private cabins.

Simon was still yelling from outside about Connie, wanting to drag her away, unsure of the reason she had been chosen. Dani watched you go but couldn’t grab you. She wanted to give you a thumbs up but didn’t have the heart to, unsure if you were going to die the second you were away from her eyeline.

When you were inside the cabin you took off the flower crown. You placed it on the bed halphazerdly., turning to Pelle.

“Okay, what the fuck is this?” you questioned. “Ingemar has a crush on Connie and now they’re paired together? What is this Pelle? Please.” He approached you and you didn’t back away. You still felt safe with him, even after all the things that had happened. You truly believed he wouldn’t hurt you.

“It’s not like that, I promise.” He put his hands on your arms, trying to center you. “They pair up some of the visitors every Midsommar,” he assured you. “I had no idea it would be you and I or Connie and Ingemar. They have to pair up some outsiders to avoid any incentuous children, they aren’t doing it from any kind of ill mind.”

It felt weird. In this room, alone, when you had just been in a group housing situation. You already wanted to see Dani.

“This is weird Pelle.”

“I understand it isn’t normal. But they aren’t forcing anything on us, on you. We’ll sleep here but it would be normal, as though we were sleeping a couple feet away in the group house.”

“So we don’t have to do anything right?”

“There will be a few pair games but those are normal. Like…compatibility games. They aren’t dangerous, I assure you. Do you trust me?” You swallowed hard, meeting his eyes. You nodded slowly.

“I think so. Yes,” you promised. He nodded.

“You’re allowed to leave and see Dani and our friends. Don’t worry.”

“What about Simon and Connie?”

“I’m sure Connie and Simon will see each other again soon. There’s no need to worry about them.” You nodded.

“At least they paired me with you. They could’ve paired me with Christian and I could've drowned him in the toilet or something.” Pelle gave you a small laugh. He put his hand on your arm, softly.

“Let’s have dinner alright?” You nodded, following him out of your cabin.

“So it’s like a game?” Dani questioned. “Why couldn’t they put Christian and I together. Maybe then he’d finally think about marriage.”

“You don’t wanna marry that guy,” you said, shaking your head. You were sitting by the gardens together. Pelle was harvesting some food and you watched, for moral support. “Pelle says it’s like a game. Whoever is most compatible at the end gets married.”

“Legally?”

“As legal as this all is,” you said.

“Did you see that Simon left this morning? Without Connie. Hitched a ride,” Dani explained. You shook your head.

“Really?”

“Yeah. Someone took him in the car into town.” You didn't know the guy well but were surprised. They seemed really close. Engaged, if you remembered.

“Pelle?!” you called. He turned around, putting the shovel into the dirt.

“Yes?”

“Did you hear Simon left?” He shook his head and walked over. He was sweating from the sun. His white baggy shirt clung to his chest. You were grateful again that you were paired with him out of anyone, the slight crush growing with the coincidence.

“I didn’t. Who told you this?”

“Ingemar,” Dani explained. “When Connie went looking. Do you think Christian would do something like that?” You wanted to scoff and answer honestly. Instead you met Pelle’s gaze and shook your head, lying.

“I’m sure he wouldn’t.” Pelle extended a hand.

“Would you like to help me?”

“Looks like hard labor.”

“I promise I’ll make it easier. Come.” You reached out and let him help you stand. You glanced back at Dani, who smiled, squinting under the sun.

“You guys are cute. Sure to win best pair.” You rolled your eyes.

“You get to be the maid of honor.”

“The may queen traditionally get’s that spot,” Pelle explained. You raised your eyebrows to her.

“Better get your dancing feet ready.”

“Have you seen Josh?” Dani questioned. She stood in front of your cabin door, concern lacing her voice. You rubbed your eyes. Pelle had let you sleep in a bit, allowing you to skip breakfast and bringing some back. You shook your head.

“No. Not since yesterday. Why?” Her jaw set.

“I can’t find him.”

“Isn’t the May Queen thing today? I doubt he’d miss that,” you offered. “Plus, I have a compatibility thing today too.” Dani nodded tightly. You were right. Josh would show up eventually.

“Can you ask Pelle if he’s seen him?”

“Yeah of course. You okay?” She nodded but she had that melancholy look on her face that was hard to read. You weren’t sure if she was just putting up a front or if she was at all settled. You wanted to ask her more questions but she turned slowly and walked towards the main part of the commune. You squinted in the sun. Pelle passed her while he was walking back from wherever he had gone.

“Are you ready?” he questioned. You nodded a bit.

“Thanks for letting me sleep in.”

“Of course. I want you rested.”

“So what do we have to do? Is it like a sack race or something? Who knows each other better? Quick, what’s your favorite color?” He chuckled. He looked down, intertwining your fingers. You let him, though you were suspicious.

“A tad more serious than that.”

“Pelle…”

“You’ll be fine. I promise.” He was determined to win this one. He had never been chosen for a pairing before but he had seen it happen. The pairs were sent out on the cliff and had to be the last two standing after a scuffle of pushing and shoving.

Ingemar and Connie were removed, after Connie mysteriously disappeared after causing too much commotion. There were only two more couples.

Neither were as strong or connected as you and Pelle.

He just wondered how he would get you up the mountain. Once you were there he had no doubt he could convince you to push for your own self preservation, along with his.

As Dani took a drink of the special tea before the May Queen dance, you drank some offered by Pelle as you started up the mountain.

“Oh.” Pelle put down his slice of pizza, desperately trying to swallow the piece he had started chewing on as quick as he could. There was a long pause until he managed to. “I’m so sorry for your loss,” he said earnestly. He had certainly not been close to Fabio himself, and Pia gave far from glowing reviews on his behavior at home, but a son was a son.

“I thought it may be best that I tell Pia myself, rather than on the phone as I did with Jolanda,” he explained. “Unless Jolanda has called her herself already…”

“I don’t believe she has,” Pelle said. “She would’ve told me.” He was relatively certain of it, at least. “I’m sure she knows I would want to know.”

“No matter,” Giovanni said. “It made me realize our time is limited and I should spend more time with my children. And grandchildren.”

Pelle nodded. “Family is important,” he said. “I don’t talk even nearly enough to my parents and siblings, even though I should. Life just gets in the way. I’m sure it did for you too.”

Giovanni took another sip of coffee before replying. “Yes,” he said. “I’ve had a lot of work to do on the lab and in my… Other activities.”

Pelle took another bite of the pizza. “Other activities?”

“I’ve been quite engaged in political activities,” he said. “You might’ve seen it.”

Pelle shook his head. “I stay far away from all that,” he said. “Only trouble. I can talk about animal rights, but that’s it.”

Giovanni looked at him, then shrugged. “It’s true,” he noted. “Plenty of trouble.”

“But I know you were in the original city council,” Pelle said. “When Abraham Helios ran the town.”

“Oh, I was,” Giovanni said, smiling. “I was his opponent and his ally both.”

Pelle, pretending to care, nodded along as he kept eating pizza.

“We all agreed on making ourselves as independent as we could from SimCity,” Giovanni continued. “We all agreed our freedoms had to be protected. However…” He clenched his fist as he spoke. “To succeed, we all had to make sacrifices. Agree to disagree. Etch things into the law we might later come to regret. And Salem Bellamy was given way more influence than public opinion should’ve allowed him to.” Giovanni bit his lip as he pondered the past. “Perhaps I wasn’t the most respectful in my criticism of him and Abraham. Perhaps I didn’t hold the most polite tone. But why should I? Why should I be ‘calm’ and ‘neutral’ while he demands outrageous legislations?”

Pelle, feeling uncomfortable with the conversation veering into topics too vague for him to know anything about, stood up abruptly. “I have a job interview,” he lied. “One of many lined up. I hate to leave you all alone here in the kitchen, but I didn’t expect this spontaneous visit, so I didn’t know to schedule around it.”

“No problem,” Giovanni said, taking another sip of coffee.

“It’s a job interview through the computer,” Pelle continued. He picked up the pizza box with one hand and grabbed the laptop with the other. Getting the oil from the pizza on his laptop made him cringe, but he was too much in a hurry to escape the conversation to wash his hands before grabbing it. “Come on, Sigurd, I don’t want you bothering Uncle Gio.”

My Dread Lady Total War II

The game has evidently read the script and no later than turn 3 announced this:

Ha! Indeed! Onward to Khaz Modan, Runar and Halvdan! Dark Ranger Alina is totally not staring at any bare-chested dwarf rowing all day along the way. Do not forget to stop by at Dalaran and eat Pandarian red curry with Rhonin at the Thundering Brewmaster of Flaming Righteousness.

When conventional-ish diplomatic efforts do not pay off the Dark Lady herself needs to set sail. The movement points for characters can not be altered to balance between marching an army on land and sailing in person in a reasonable way, or I have forgotten how to mod it, but at least a ship can be sent. The Banshee's Wail class frigate. Note that Jaina has not yet approved the building plans for the new harbour and Theramoore has only a paltry little port.

It is a long journey across the open seas. There is time for much conjuring of maritime currents and sleeping in the Dark Lady's hammock.

After 12 chapters Jaina has landed with Sylvanas and they continue on foot towards the capital city while the rangers (assassins in-game) scout ahead. As we can all see the blighted and ruined landscape would surely have unnerved the stoutest archmage... Well, Malfurion visited Lordaeron not too long ago, perhaps he dabbled a little with the nature?

There is no rest for the foreign guests. Barely has Jaina gotten a good night's sleep in her newly furnished dungeon when she learns that Cyndia Hawkspear is missing and presumably, or possibly, captured by the Scarlet Crusade. Onward to Hearthglen where Jaina hopes to negotiate on the Forsaken's behalf.

The helpful chancellor Varimathras supplies a pair of fel-infested shackles to keep the distrusted archmage suitably under control. They are sure to smooth things over in the coming negotiations.

Thanks to rangers Clea and Kitala's language lessons in chapter 14 Jaina knows how to speak Thalassian from her heart, and what ancillary did she acquire if not a...translator! Once again, spot on, lol! The little mage is now an irresistible bookworm that all but the most stuffy fanatics would disregard.

Jaina does her best but…chapter 15 ends on a sour note regardless.

Not nearly as sour as Sylvanas in chapter 16, not to mention Anya Eversong. The spoils of the Scarlet stronghold is a boon for the Forsaken economy as well as Anya's supply of ceremonial sashes.

After many chapters of rest, being fed fish soup by Dark Ranger Lyana, being inducted into the dark ranger corps and allowed to cast pells again, Jaina can follow the Forsaken army into the field to begin the offensive. Sadly the Scourge did not oblige and failed to siege the capital in turn 10 as theys hould have. The fact that the garrison was monstrous is no excuse for deviating from the script in such a scandalous manner.

Pyrewood has been scouted out by a banshee spy who really knows how to blend in with the locals. Or possess one of them?

A small Scourge outpost somewhere in the Silverpine highlands make for a convenient first target even though the epic field battles that should have been here are not.

I will have to edit the descr_strat.txt for more next time...

The Scourge smaller settlements are certainly thematic but their defensibility is somewhat...lesser. A gatehouse might have been a sound investment.

The Forsaken army starts out fairly battle-ready but hard to replace so you must take every precaution to keep casualties low.

Sylvanas and Areiel commands the elite rangers that shot accurately at key targets (group 1).

Banshees wail and cast chaotically and hideously effective at large masses of troops but needs to be protected from melee and foused enemy fire (group 2).

Abominations are literal meat walls and a good reserve force to deal with rampaging knights but not worth it to waste on densely packed enemy infantry where they are hacked apart from many directions (group 3).

The deathguard and readguard is the Forsaken elite infantry and an area in which they shine (group 4).

Basic animated skeletons make up a paltry but fast cavalry that can at least chase down fleeing enemies and harass archers. The lack of heavy cavalry and any artillery are the greatest weaknesses of the Forsaken. Only the elite death knights are cut out for the job - and probably VERY expendable if need be in the eyes of their queen - but they are rare.

Regular Forsaken soldiers are stronger than human counterparts with fewer mushy ogans to protect but lack the offensive power to win the battle (group 6 and ungrouped ones).

very long vent stuff about life under cut. it’s a road map for what is going wrong in my life and setting out what i have to do. don’t feel like you need to read it at all lmao, this more for my own reference and reflection.

i’m looking at my future and how i could ever afford to move out and live my best, healthy and accomplished life. i’m looking down some hard numbers and facts.

this is all more for my own sake, seeing everything laid out for myself and what i need to accomplish and what i need to pay, what i should do in what order.

my school financial aid offer finally came back. my program’s estimated cost is $13,693, and i was offered $7,745 in aid. $4,245 of that is a pell grant (i don’t have to pay that back), while $3,500 of that is a federal direct stafford loan-sub (which i will have to pay back) and it leaves $5,948 that i have to make up somehow. and this is estimated, not actual.

i still need a laptop because i need the ability to study not in my room for various reasons such as ability to study anywhere if i need to get out of the house, so i don’t feel ashamed of the view of my messy room and feel like i won’t want to log on, and so i can do schoolwork while laying down or at a bigger table/desk than my very small desk in my room.

for a laptop that will last me my entire school time, i would be looking at $250 to $650 for a laptop, on the budget end, i think.

so in total for school, i think, i need somewhere around $5,500.

i need to visit student financial aid on monday and explore the options and opportunities of possible grants or scholarships to help cover the gap.

i would also have to add on 8 months to my two year (or more) bachelor’s degree in health information management for medical coding if it isn’t included in my program. also the field could be changing fast and i may have to pivot in what i am pursuing in my education.

as for my health issues, and the possibility of diagnosis, that depends.

i need to do some personal reckoning, getting myself on a schedule and routine. i do have to admit i have let my own personal hygiene and habits slip. that is my personal responsibility.

i need to make sure i go to bed on time, rather than stay up on my phone. i need to take my nighttime medication, wake up in the morning and shower and take my morning medicines, including my testosterone, on a normal daily basis. i also need to drink more water, way more.

however i know that will take away spoons from my already low amount of spoons available. i need to balance my life schedule and activity load, pacing myself. i should do anything my doctor recommends for me to do to help control what i can.

in the area of diagnosis, i am already diagnosed with adhd (inattentive) and long covid.

i’m working on getting a diagnosis for my chronic fatigue, racing heart and pre-syncope (which i believe is pots, which is connected to long covid). however, i also have joint instability, chronic pain, weakness my limbs, trouble walking without mobility aids (however most days using a cane makes my wrist, elbow and should joints hurt), and making sure my legs/spine are supporting myself as my legs and spine feel extremely unstable (i believe this is EDS or one of its related diagnoses).

all these health conditions are ones that immediately impact my health and functioning levels. i need to get these conditions supported and reduced in severity as none of them are curable conditions (if these things are from the conditions i suspect).

i may have more serious conditions or complications of these conditions that i have not noticed or are not diagnosed and may further disable me. that too is a reality i should keep in mind going forward.

i need to continue with the doctor i’m working with to try and get diagnosed or find the condition that is causing my decreased functioning. this will take time, as i just today finished and sent off my heart monitor to be analyzed. this will take a while.

however i will soon be having a follow up with my doctor for my wellbutrin prescription, which currently doesn’t feel like it is affecting me much, though that might be because my chronic fatigue and pain make my brain fog and anxiety mask any benefits of the medication. i might have to increase my dosage or switch up my medication. i need to discuss this with my doctor.

another thing i might look into, is getting a tilt table test as it seems my doctor is amenable to it, and that would help me reach my pots diagnosis faster. that means i would have to drive up to portland. also, i need to bring up my joint pain and instability to them, and my desire for mobility supports.

as for these mobility supports and other care needs, which i think would contribute to my comfort and wellbeing, they are but not limited to: a cane, a wheelchair, shower stool, finger splint rings, wrist supports, joint wraps, compression socks, heart monitoring watch, kt tape, and a weighted blanket. some of these are able to be covered by my health insurance as long as i get diagnosed, but others might not. i will need to research costs and plan ahead.

a further diagnosis i might need to push for is my autism diagnosis. i have been resistant to receiving one, as it would limit some aspects of my life to be labeled as such (i have heard horror stories of discrimination in healthcare settings, workplaces and it limits which countries would take me if i decide to leave the us as my home) but i think, overall, it would be helpful to me in the long run.

i think my autism has a much bigger impact on my entire life, since childhood, than i had previously wished to acknowledge. it impacts my life skills, social interactions, ability to create relationships, daily activities (such as showering and eating), schooling (i’ve failed out of college multiple times, which i think can also be contributed to adhd), and my ability to work (i have never been able to hold onto a job for longer than a couple of years).

in my current situation i don’t feel comfortable to do behaviors that will mitigate meltdowns or shutdowns, and burnout. i don’t want to stim in any highly noticeable way and i mask constantly, even at home, because i was trained out of that through schooling and the ignorance of my family.

the stiming i do feel fine doing are more self injurious than helpful, such as skin picking, scratching and peeling my lips. i know it is resulting from higher stress levels that i engage in these behaviors more.

i also don’t discuss my special interests or feel like i have the support or space to pursue them. my family regards my special interests as failed hobbies and strange obsessions, and find my info dumps tiring or annoying to deal with, especially my step father and younger brother.

they don’t seem to care about learning more about my autism and how it affects me, if not they don’t want to learn about the spectrum of autism as i think i live in an under diagnosed home and they would have to confront their own issues.

if i was diagnosed, i could get far more support and accommodations for my behaviors and needs. future work would be easier if i could wear headphones and have other needs met. schooling would be easier as well. and i could potentially get more benefits, if i was able to be granted some form of disability payment, or have lower income housing open to me applying.

one fear i have about getting an autism diagnosis is that my gender identity would be invalidated and ignored and medical care would be denied to me. i don’t think that my current pcp doctor would limit my care if i had a diagnosis. i also need to get back into therapy to support me through this process. and getting a diagnosis might make it possible for me to access supported but independent housing i need for my own health.

i truly believe that moving out would be my best option at this point. i want to live on my own so i can take control of my life. ideally i would like to live in a one bedroom apartment at this point, working towards buying my own home. at the very least i want to have some sort of rental assistance, if available. i would even be willing to move into a trailer park.

ultimately i just want my own space. it will help with my mental state and grant me the ability to make my own decisions about every aspect of my life, something i need to relieve my anxiety and depression. i don’t feel fully supported or safe in my home.

if i lived on my own i can improve my nutrition by being able to cook and eat what i want when i want, and receive snap benefits because my family wouldn’t be contributing as much to my food. i would control what would be in my fridge and cupboards, how many dishes i produce.

i also wouldn’t have my mother judging what i ate or make or telling me to go on fad diets, complaining that she is overweight (so i am too by extension because i have her same body size and type), seek out alternative medicine that has no proven benefits, or try to get me to take unproven supplements as magical cure alls. her issues with her health wouldn’t be projected onto me.

if i lived on my own, i could potentially live in a more accessible environment, where i could use my mobility aids or lay on the floor as needed, do my own gentle exercise (yoga, strength training), and have a bathroom to myself. i wouldn’t have to explain and justify my pain levels or ability to accomplish tasks, or be called lazy or weak for relying on mobility aids.

i could limit triggers (slamming doors, raised voices, loud laughter, strangers randomly appearing inside my home because they were invited in by someone i love with, being watched over my shoulder) that leave me stressed and tense and grinding my teeth, scared to leave my bedroom.

i could also reduce sensory overload by controlling my environment, such as controlling temperature and times appliances are running or fan use. i would be able to control my environment, how it looks and how it feels to my body and sensitivities.

i would be able able to control my own schedule. i would have access to public transportation and not have to coordinate my transportation with others who dominate the car usage of the household. i could go out on my own, without having to explain why or where i’m going, i could go to see friends or invite them over.

while i would be responsible for controlling my own finances and paying my own bills, cooking my own food and cleaning my environment, i don’t find those as hard as long as i can do it my way, with my system. i would actually look forward to it, to give myself a chance to be able to do hard things and survive them.

if i lived in town, i would be able to have wider job opportunities available to me and i could really start up my own business and work. being able to access an area with a better social fabric and community involvement would support me and help me make connections.

at current moment, my finances are dire. i have less than $1 in my bank account. i need to avail myself of mutual aid and fundraising. i will ask my parents for money tomorrow and lay out this life plan to them, with some adjustment to not insult or implicate them in my self neglect and worsening mental and physical health.

i still need to remain with them for a while longer, as it might take a long time for me to line all this up. i have my top surgery consult in 2025, and hopefully it will happen that same year, if not sooner. i need their assistance to care for me during my recovery period, if not i need to have friends or avail myself of the local trans community support group to find a temporary caretaker to support me.

this limits me a bit in terms of finding independence sooner rather than later but this is a long process, that i have set out for myself. it may take years for my diagnosis to all be found. it may take multiple attempts to get approved for disability. it may take years to get into an affordable apartment and set up my own place, find my own groove and system.

i need to have patience but i can’t just sit back and throw up my hands.

so what i need to do is clear. i need to work on my personal health, find out if i can get on disability and if not, part time work, and see if i could move out. all during this i need to apply myself to my studies and get my degree.

there is a long hard road ahead of me but i need to find my way to it. i can’t stay stagnant and continue to suffer in silence and pain and isolation.

i want to live my best, most healthy life i can.

i deserve to.

Really long character bio under the cut, because I can’t seem to shut up about this man.

Last in line for the throne of Oryn, Kristopher had a lonely upbringing. An unplanned child that no one seemed to want, he learned quickly that the only person he could trust was himself. As he grew older, he realized that those beyond the castle walls already had their own opinions of him. Troublemaker, fool, annoyance. And those were not the worst.

By the time he was a teenager, Kristopher had a well-established reputation as the kingdom’s “problem child”. Being a member of the royal family (no matter how much he or his parents wished he wasn’t) put that reputation on public display. Kristopher quickly learned to use it to his advantage. After all, if everyone hates you already, why not give them a reason?

And so Kristopher took it into his own hands to publicly embarrass his family as much as possible, with little regard for himself. At every possible opportunity, he would escape the castle, spending his nights in pubs and taverns around Westcliff. He drank too much and rarely spent a night in his own rooms.

While these actions were partially just a distraction from his own life, sometimes Kris succeeded in making a bigger mess. Say just the right thing and a visiting merchant might not return. Flirt with the wrong noble’s son, and his parents might not attend a ball. If you take enough shots in the dark eventually one might hit something.

Finally, fed up with his actions and eager to get him out of their hair, Kristopher’s parents sent him to Anvia. Maybe he could finally become useful, or at least someone else’s problem.

Be careful Kristopher. This is your last chance.

Character:

Having learned from an early age that his thoughts and feelings would be at best ignored or at worst used as fuel for mockery, Kris is very careful not to reveal much of his true emotions. While momentary cracks in his facade may give someone a hint as to his feelings, he is not one to share them openly. He maintains an outward appearance of indifference or arrogance, holding his thoughts and feelings close to his chest.

Tired of constantly being the butt of another’s joke, Kristopher is often quick to anger. His hot-headed nature has gotten him into plenty of trouble over the years, serving to further damage others’ opinions of him.

Despite these things he can be very charming when he chooses to be, a fact that often surprises people. He rarely shows that side of him, however, since most people already assume him to be an arrogant ass, and he doesn’t see them as worth the time to convince otherwise.

While his drinking is partially to embarrass his family, Kris also uses alcohol as a way to distract himself from his own thoughts, which are rarely pleasant. It is not, however, his only form of distraction. Others include fencing, riding, and archery.

“How did you…” U’min trailed off, eyes narrowing as they contemplated the confession. As if they didn’t believe it, but failed to find any other answer.
