Favorite part of yesterday's big love?...the friendships that were strengthened. My second favorite, the silent disco! Three stations for three live dj's -- pick your favorite or bounce back and forth. One young adorable girl I was sharing the dance floor with took off her headsets and said to me, "I can dance to no music!" I took mine off and said "me too!" "Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning." I know it sounds a little far fetched that a festival called "Big Love" has been a transformational piece of my last few years of growth, but it is true. Not only does the festival host some of the coolest events, classes and performances, but it is hosted by some of the biggest hearted people I know...the people that do not fear the lack of abundance their love is capable of, but instead go "out of their way" to sprinkle that love as far as they can with what little resources they have. Every year I am blown away by Big Love and I know this year will be no exception! Today's crane is a prayer for truth. This intention came from some conversations with @nick_comsia_someday this morning about last night's #sevacircle and what we learned, loved or thought about it all. It turned into a discussion on sharing YOUR truth, even if you think it may start a 'debate' or a slightly uncomfortable discussion. It's those moments of discomfort that we ten to grow 🌳exponentially from. Again, Chögyam Trungpa hit me with some wisdom today . . . TELL THE TRUTH Truth always works. There always has to be basic honesty; that is the source of trust. When someone sees that you are telling the truth, then they will realize further that you are saying something worthwhile and trustworthy. It always works.//. . .Sometimes telling the truth is very painful to them, but they begin to realize it is the truth, and they appreciate it sooner or later.// It is also important to realize that you don't have to have control over others. You see, that is exactly the truth situation: you do not have all the answers; you are not assuming control over people. Instead, you are trying to tell the truth-in the beginning, in the middle, and at the end.// I would like to see myself communicating through those "uncomfortable" situations, even if that means I fumble and bumble and maybe even mumble my way through them. I would like to show up in those moments with strength of will, faith in the process and TRUST of the people I'm communicating with to help me hold space for truthful, meaningful, compassion-full 😍 connection. I also want this for others. I want this for our community. I want us to speak up. Your voice matters.
