Like a bunch of miniature kitbashers I know, I decided to hop on the bandwagon of building a bot for BillMakingStuff's new wargame Bangarang in the Gutterlands!

Bill's style and vision is so well defined - a rusty and surreal post-apocalypse. Since that's less my vibe, I wanted to take his style of scratchbuilding and combine it with my JRPG fashionista approach.

Not an easy build, though - those legs were killer! Greenstuff was needed for its posability, but a lot of patiently holding it in place and haphazard superglue was needed to stop the whole thing from collapsing under its own weight. I'll have to do some cleanup of stray glue and greenstuff before I paint it!

Diamondsaur

(I'm bad at naming stuff if you couldn't tell)

I was watching BillMakingStuff making crystals for a frame diorama in one of his videos and for some reason it made me remember a drawing I did when I was like 12 or something of a dinosaur with crystals coming out of it back.

So like... I made one.

Made with a carnosaur toy, miligreen, cheap paint, and a lot of painters tape. Trying to figure out a way to seal the crystals with a gloss spray and the rest of the build with a matte apart was a real pain in the ass. Next time I think I'll seal it all with a matte spray and coat the crystals with modgepodge or something.

I wanna make another one at some point. Probably some kind of four legged herbivore next time.

Oh my oh my god holy cow!!!!!!!! I am so absolutely in love with the microscope details and the little gummy bears!!!!!! Omg!!!! Also the fucking the little dog on the sofa 🥺 it’s so gorgeous omgggg AND THE SNOW LEOPARD. THE DETAILS!!! Also the wren. The wren. Wow. I am so utterly blown away now!!

Do you follow any miniature people on YouTube? Like off top of my head there’s BillMakingStuff though his stuff is more miniature-to-scale stuff (they’re supposed to be sooo massive and he fits them into such a small tiny space, like each thing I’d say is probably about 8-9 inches?) . Also like GameyyBuilds and North Of The Boarder but both is more diorama I guess (NOTB did a miniature windwaker Zelda landscape thing though once though).

Omg when people put actual plants in their little like mini-scene things and incorporate them into the build!!!!! I just. Can you tell this intercepts with a lot of my other interests or what? Lol still a big fan of the little Pom Pom, might send the pic to my old friend she had a little dog just like that!!

I might also be working on smthn miniature in terms of scale if you do want to see?

Desert Caravan

A impulse build that sorta turned into a BillMakingStuff homage or something.

Had a bunch of random bits (like, too many to list) so I just started smacking stuff together until I made something. The robot started out as a giant pack for the lizard, then it was gonna be a robot mount, then it turned into a robot pack mule. I tried using Bill's signature rust paint job that he gives all of his builds. It turned out alright I think.

I made the lizard out a triceratops bod and a dilophosaur head and a few extra bits. It's simple but I really like it for some reason. Gives me creature from a 70s sci-fi book cover vibes.

The android merchant was made from a Star Wars action figure covered with plastic plants and an ankylosaurus head made to look like bones.

OKOKOK!!!! SO!! Please note this is not finished AT ALL and the only prior experience I had is a little house and making up little flatpack-style house kits for an unfinished little railway town @ my grandparents. OK!

This is both sides of the thing at the moment!! I had this half of a bottle just laying around because I used the other half to propagate some plants so my bill making stuff and other various things (SerpaDesign who does real beautiful terrariums that scratch the same itch as minis imo I’d say is another inspo for example) addled brain thought “hey! This is a cool idea! Why not!” And just boom!! This!! I am planning to paint it definitely. I feel like it would look very unfinished and thrown together if it was just clear (even if it was just thrown together)

I have no clue if the moss is real or not, I brought it off of Amazon ages ago as fake moss (for another project, was a little sculpture) and it’s so real I cannot tell if it’s not real or not. But it has a smell to it so I think it may just be a load of foliage they grabbed dried out and put in a little baggy so?? I literally have no idea!

Oh I want to show the other little house I mentioned earlier that I did too though this was like a few weeks ago! In my mind this and the plant-bottle is in the same world and are neighbours lmao

I mainly used cardboard/other paper-based stuffs for this one, with the exception of a little bead for decoration!!

Can you tell I’ve been itching to talk about these for a bit? I feel like you can. Idk! I’m just enjoying making things y’know? It itches the brain good lol
