Morbius Trailer Features a Marvel’s Spider-Man Easter Egg

An easter egg in the first trailer for Morbius references both Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4.

Today, Sony released the first trailer for Morbius, its Jared Leto led movie about the titular Spider-Man character. While Sony’s last live-action outing tangentially related to Spider-Man, Venom, was pretty terrible, Morbius actually looks like it the potential to be an enjoyable film. The first trailer also features a couple of cool easters eggs, including an actor from the MCU Spider-Man films and a double-whammy reference to both Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games.

As you can see in the trailer, one shot focuses on Leto’s Michael Morbius walking through an alleyway in what seems to be prison clothing. Looking at the wall, you can see a picture of Spider-Man with graffiti saying “murderer” over it. The suit featured in the image should be immediately recognizable as it is from Sam Raimi’s classic trilogy of Spider-Man films from the 2000s. While that’s exciting all on its own, the image doesn’t seem to have been sourced from those original films.

The Spider-Man poster featured in the Morbius trailer actually looks like a modified image of an official Marvel’s Spider-Man screenshot. Fans of the wildly successful PS4 game may remember that the Raimi suit was added to the game in late 2018. This is the version of that classic suit that seems to have been used in the trailer. Its appearance even garnered a response from Marvel Games’ VP and Head of Creative Bill Rosemann:

Whether you are a fan of Raimi’s films, Insomniac’s game, or both, this is a pretty fun reference, especially when one considers that a version of Michael Morbius appeared in Marvel’s Spider-Man. You can check out the first trailer for Morbius below if you have not seen it yet. The suit based on the Raimi films is currently available for free in Marvel’s Spider-Man, which can be picked up on Amazon.

Marvel’s Avengers Game detailed Review and Game Play

Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Games has recently produced Marvel’s Avengers game. The first trailer of the film was shown during Square Enix’s E3 2019 presentation on June 11. Various Marvel characters are part of the game including Hulk and Iron Man.

Moreover, Crystal Dynamics will be collaborating with Eidos Montréal to bring your favourite characters to life.

As per the sources, the game will have new iconic moments from the larger cinematic universe. However, the game will still have its original story. There are some rumours that DLC will include new Marvel characters like Ant-Man. Moreover, a beta will be available for PS4 players who pre-order it.

When will Marvel’s Avengers game release?

The Marvel’s Avengers game is scheduled to publish on May 15th, 2020, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Stadia. Also, the first look of the game will be out in May 2020. Marvel’s Avengers is a single player as well as four player game.

In the press release, it was revealed that co-op and a single player will have different missions. The gameplay will drive the players to an epic adventure over many years. The developers didn’t reveal much about the game. However, we will know more soon when it gets released. You can watch the E3 2019 Marvel’s Avengers below.

What is in the game trailer?

The trailer displays an iconic battle scene where Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hulk assemble together. The clip shows off a fight scene taking place in San Francisco. However, nothing goes as per their plans, and they lose the battle. Moreover, they get blamed for the tragedy.

Later on, the team ends disbanding. 5 years later, the world is in danger, and the superheroes are outlawed. The people’s last hope is the Earth’s Biggest Heroes who are known as the Avengers. The players will be able to play in online co-op along with their three friends.

What kind of game will Marvel’s Avengers be?

After the trailer was released, fans have a good idea of what kind of game it will be. It is an action adventure with some role-playing elements. Moreover, it has super cool graphics. Now, gamers can customize their heroes to fit their playstyle, master and gain extraordinary abilities, and combine powers. Marvel’s Avengers features pretty talented voice cast. Moreover, fans are left in questions than in answers when Iron Man flies in the sky and Hulk smashes a tank. Hulk’s character is loved by most of the gamers. His animation is the best in the game. Moreover, he rarely leaves the enemy’s bodies on the battlefield. Most of the villains are kicked or thrown by him to god knows where. Even Captain America’s character was in the spotlight.

Lastly, the game is 99 per cent single-player, but there are some pieces where the developers will encourage you to play in multiplayer. However, if you decide to play single player or your friends aren’t around, then the other Avengers Game will be controlled by A.I.

Bill Rosemann of Marvel Games Kicks Off the New Year With a Promotion

Fresh off of overseeing Insomniac Games latest venture, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel Games’ Executive Creative Director, Bill Rosemann, has been given a promotion to kick off the new year and man is it quite the upgrade.

Starting today, Rosemann announced via his personal Twitter page that he is now the new Vice President of Marvel Games, as well as its Creative Director. He then went on to thank all the different companies and developers he’s worked with over the past few years (including the illustrious Avengers Project developers Crystal Dynamics). You can read the full tweet at the end of the article.

Bill Rosemann has been a bit of a public figure for Marvel Games. Back when Marvel’s Spider-Man was originally released, Rosemann went on record stating that he believed that the game was “The Iron Man of Marvel Video Games, an obvious comparison to how Iron Man kicked off the MCU as we know it.

Troy Baker Teases That He Wants to Play Daredevil in a Future Video Game

Daredevil might not have his own video game in development, but perhaps Baker could have the opportunity to play the character in a different upcoming Marvel title.

In a time where Marvel Games is releasing more major titles than ever before with games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and the forthcoming Marvel’s Avengers, one of the industry’s most popular actors is now potentially lobbying to play an iconic character from the comic book brand’s history.

In a new tweet over the weekend, Troy Baker, who is most well-known for playing characters in The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, hinted that he’d love to play one of Marvel’s most well-regarded heroes in the future. Baker quote tweeted a question that asked which superhero game he’d like to see in the future, and while he didn’t directly answer the inquiry, he did tag Marvel Games’ VP Bill Rosemann, implying that Rosemann would know what he was referring to. Rosemann then responded by simply calling Baker “a man without fear,” which sent fans into a tizzy.

If you’re unaware, the “Man Without Fear” moniker belongs to that of Daredevil, the blind vigilante from New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen. Daredevil has likely been most well-known in recent years thanks to Marvel’s Netflix series on the character which ended after three seasons. Based on Rosemann’s response, it seems as though Baker is definitely interested in playing Daredevil in a future video game and fan theories about such a game being in development immediately ran wild.

However, not too long later, Rosemann ended up tweeting out a clarification in the form of a “press release” from the office of Nelson & Murdock stating that no such video game based on Daredevil is currently in the works. Instead, it was just acknowledged that both Baker and Rosemann have a “shared desire about creating said game” sometime down the road. Rosemann then apologized for any confusion that may have come about from the interaction.

While at a baseline level it seems apparent that no Daredevil game is in development, it is worth mentioning that Rosemann never explicitly shot down the potential for the Man Without Fear to appear in other upcoming products from Marvel Games. With the video game publishing label now working on aforementioned titles like Marvel’s Avengers, maybe we could see Matt Murdock appearing as a playable or non-playable character in the action-adventure title once it arrives later in 2020.

There’s also the possibility that perhaps Daredevil could pop up in the inevitable sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man. While this game hasn’t even been confirmed to exist just yet, seeing Daredevil appear in the Spider-Man title could make a lot of sense. In the realm of comic books, both characters end up crossing over with one another somewhat frequently since they both reside in the same city. Again, Insomniac Games hasn’t even said they’re working on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 yet (although they absolutely are) but to see Daredevil appear in this game would be pretty logical.

For now, it’s way too early to get excited about any idea of Baker portraying Daredevil, but where there is smoke, there is often fire. Considering how much the actor seems to be interested in playing the character, maybe one day we’ll see this collaboration come to fruition.
