Does anyone else get a little lightheaded at how fast time moves or like, is that just me?

I dunno what to even say, like, I've been kinda hard on myself and my art as of late but taking this huge step back helped me realize, "wow, I'm kinda getting skilled???" warning for a bit of a yap session below.

I'm gonna be honest. I've been drawing for like, half my life, and I've loathed what I make the entire time. It's a dragon I've been chasing so long, I forgot what it even holds for me anymore. And my actual skills are NOT that of someone who's been drawing for 10+ years. It wasn't until this year really that I finally felt... it, you know?

I finally started to buckle down and learn myself some more fundamentals, not because "Oh I want to be an artist so I have to, isn't that just great? 🙄" but because for the first time in my LIFE I actually respected my art.

I wanted my art to be the best it could be not to "prove anything" to myself, or to make something so cool that'll become super popular, but because I was the main audience for the piece. My art, my style, the things I drew, they've been so unabashedly... me, that the fear of comparison or desire for attention just... stopped.

The power of OCxCanon brainrot, eh?

I'm not really a goal setter or a resolution maker, I've always found that if something is worth changing, it's worth changing whenever. BUT, I do have some goals and plans for 2025.

First off, I gotta STUDY more. Studying is fun and rewarding! I gotta stop acting like it isn't, especially when I have full agency over it.

Second... would you guys still love me if I made some OC content? Like, actual original stories and characters, not inserted into any existing stuff...? 🥺🥺🥺

Third is that in general I gotta draw something that isn't Pokemon or I'll die, I think.

Fourth, uh. I don't draw enough Marina and Penny. Penny's fallen to the side. Gonna fix that. Put Arven on the backburner.

Fifth, God help me I will learn how to draw furries. I am horrible at drawing snouts and animal heads. I will amend this.
