Alaric had left the night before, well aware of what the following day was for Jon. It had taken a little longer than he would have liked, meaning that his return found him in Jon's home at early evening, but he made it all the same. Gloved hands passed Jon a burlap wrapped basket, allowing him to take off his coat and boots before he joined his fellow immortal in the kitchen.

"Give me a kiss and I'll let you open it."

Jon was restless when Alaric finally arrived. The smell of cordite and gun oil was a sure sign he had been, until recently, shooting firearms. And since it was about evening, he had hoped he might have escaped the damn date. But also....he had been hoping that his lover would be there to greet him in the morning, and it had been a disappointment. So when he looked up from the oven, words had been forming on his lips. They melted away as he took the present, even though he tried to keep up the grump act. Right up until he kissed Alaric is when the small smile finally curled on the corner of his mouth.

"Thank you." He placed it aside for a moment before pulling off the oven mitts. "This better be good. You have a whole morning to make up for."

This is what a 54 year old butch lesbian can look like. We come in a variety of sizes and shapes and personalities. I am so lucky that I get to be ME with family, with friends, with internet friends. I don’t have to hide or be vague. I love being a  woman because my mom and sister showed me their strength, I love being a Lesbian because my lesbian friends taught me its a life full of joy and love and I adore being a butch because older butches taught me about community and how to exist and thrive in a world that can’t quite figure out what box to put me in.

The final year of being in my 20s

My birthday this year was quite nice. Video call with Gio. Went to the office, actually hoping that the day will go by quietly because nobody is aware of my birthday, but then the newest gen z kid in my office came in while singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY~~" so people stopped for a bit and actually finished the song :')

And again during lunch break, when I brought back the chilled cake to the office, the kid played Jamrud's Ulang Tahun 😭😭

Anyway, I left the office at 5 because I have a dinner appointment with my usual group of friends at Grand Indonesia. Went to KKV and bought a pill organizer I've been wanting (just to store my daily vit C and Sangobion), saw some pretty paint by number paintings on the wall but the ones that I like were all sold out. Asked Etem (and Sari) to buy one for me. Tee-hee.

Me, Silmi, and Sari waited in front of Yakiniku Like because Ririn and Nizu were not there yet and the restaurant has a 60 mins max eating time because it's dinner time 🙄🙄 So we just talked until Nizu told us that she'll arrive in 10 mins.

Nizu came with a box of cake, started prepping the candles, and the waiter helped to light the candles. And then the restaurant played Jamrud's Ulang Tahun too😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

I don't like people to know that it's my birthday, lately I've been thinking that it's actually a part of privacy. I just want to celebrate in peace, a little bit of silence, with my good friends and of course a bunch of good food!!

I have stopped feeling so worried about getting old. It is just numbers. I might be 29 and next year I'll be 30, I am getting old but so does everybody. It's just life. It's natural.

Here's to a better year and the same set of good friends.
