Sword Art Online took the world by storm as the most popular in the isekei genre, making it more renowned to people and now it (the genre) is over saturated . hisoka is a pedophile clown in hunter x hunter but people say he’s hot and sexy all the time, and in the same breath people will say he’s their favorite character. the majority of the anime we watch and the manga we read have a lot wrong with them down to pedophilia, misogyny, abuse, rape, and the list literally goes on. even fucking naruto. anyone could’ve recommended made in abyss because despite the author, the work and the writing is incredible. what I was talking abt earlier. we have fully looped back around and away from feminism, societally, whereas before it was very Feminism 101 to acknowledge that many parts of existing as a woman in a misogynistic society are painful and upsetting. not that being a woman is Inherently Negative in a bubble. but that living on this earth, in the conditions we're living in, is hostile to women. and that gender is a performance. that many of the Staples Of Femininity as accepted by society are things that you have to create and perform and mold artificially and aren't inherent, that COMPLAINING about day to day difficulties of existing as a woman is something that you're allowed to do. acknowledging these basic, again, feminism 101 things, that something tied to womanhood is more time consuming or more expensive or more dangerous Because Of The Problems. does not CREATE the problems. that when women complain about having to perform femininity, they are not, in fact, oppressing themselves. the call does not come from inside the fucking house. saying that you HAVE suffered does not fucking equate that you believe you SHOULD have suffered.

9) Most disliked character(s)? Why?

It may just be because Azure Moon is still strong in my mind, but Felix and Sylvain immediately come to mind, especially the latter.

I totally get why they're so popular and I believe I can make a somewhat accurate breakdown on what makes them tick and why are they like this, but the thing is that I cannot stand their usual attitude.

Felix is a complete douche even at his supposed "nice" moments yet everyone just puts up with him for some reason, and Sylvain... well, I've made no secret of how much I hate perverts and Casanovas. Him taking out his personal problems on half of the population doesn't help.

But if you want to know my most disliked character EVER, hoo boy.

Nothing can even come close to the sheer level of homicidal HATRED I feel for Mineta from MHA. That purple grape slime can go into the deepest pits of hell he likely came from.

10) Most disliked arc? Why?

White Clouds, due to the sheer repetition of having to do it at least three times throughout all the routes with minimal changes and the Lions being the only ones who are properly involved with what's happening.

11) Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

Too many, it feels like most of my faves are that.

But the two biggest members of the club are Faye, the club president and Rhea, who absolutely swept despite being the newcomer.

Guess I just have a thing for characters hated by both the creators and the fanbase.

12) Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

Over time I warmed up to Celica's Act 4. I used to hate it but now, even if I still think it has some huge problems (mainly the toxic maps, pun intended, and Celica's loss of agency), but I've come to really appreciate Celica's internal conflict during this stretch of the game. Especially because it wouldn't work with anyone but her.

I definitely understand why most of the fandom considers this part to be a dumpster fire, but also I can't help but think it's because they also tend do believe Celica unconditionally trusted Jedah which, lmao.

xenoblade 1 is interesting because when I first played it I had really mixed feelings. mostly I think because it had been slightly overhyped for me. there were so many videos with masterpiece in the description and people saying it was their favorite.

there was a lot that first turned me off during the story (namely the way it handled its female characters made me frustrated at multiple points) and also how they handled the revenge arc because I have very very specific taste in revenge arcs and I just dont think it landed for me. 

I think I appreciate it a lot more now that im fully deep into the series. I do like a lot about it, from its gameplay to its environment to a lot of the little cast interactions, to just shulk existing. yeah. yeah its alright

Like you have Riven going from this insecure teenage boy who lashes out at anyone who challenges him to this suave bad boy who could kill the winx. People seeing Stella as a stuck up brat, thinking that she loves Bloom more than the other winx, or that she would ever choose to be selfish in ways that hurt the other characters. Or Flora going from this fairly confident young girl who loves to meet new people and hangout with others to an introverted shy mess who never speaks up and would never say something sarcastic. Not to sound like a bitch but I really do think it's time the fandom stops pretending we're better than other fandoms and don't have Fanon Versions because we do and it's messing with y'alls perception of canon so fucking bad
