Had the urge to swap Nori and Amaya’s heads on each other’s bodies because they’re the same resin color and I can hahaha.

Haru’s posted girl versions of Modeun before, and honestly, the sculpt makes for a great girl and it’s a shame he didn’t release the sculpt like XO as a boy and girl. Boy!Maji isn’t something you ever see though, and honestly, she totally works as a babyfaced guy.

Makes me wonder if anyone has made hybrids or genderswaps of their Haru Casting dolls yet. One of my friends has a boy!Wind, but other than that, I haven’t seen much in mix and matching with his sculpts.

So here is a mini breakdown of how I created the BJD eye cups.

First off, you’re going to need some sort of backing to round out the eyeball. I split wooden beads apart and glued them to the backs. This is going to help the eyeball rotate.

Now you are going to need some half spheres. They need to be larger than your eyeball so the can move freely once padding is added. I made these with hot glue and two metal measuring spoons, one inside the other. This created the mold for the sphere. Have ice water handy because a quick cool down makes it easier to peel the glue out. They don’t have to be perfect, you can always trim if need be.

Fluff time. I gently tugged apart a cotton makeup wipe to create the pillow we need. How much you’re going to need will vary and you will need to experiment with how much is going to work for the eyeball. Lots of trial and error here. You want to set it in the half-spheres lightly, do not pack it in.

Position your eyeball. This is also trial and error. You want it center with enough room to move. You will have to put the cup on and experiment. Have a toothpick like object and a little bit of tac to do a trial run on the eyeballs movement. Add/remove fluff as needed. You want a semi-firm cushion but not so much to hinder movement. You may need to adjust position of the cup to either side as well for optimal movement.

I very much recommend Faber-Castell blue tac it. It doesn’t leave marks on the pupils as you move the eye around.

Did you find a prime position? Glue the cap in. I know magnets are usually used, but I’m being cheap here. A couple spots of hot glue holds the cup in and is easily pulled out for change and repositioning. Just trim off the excess glue and start again.

Some heads may be more difficult to place the cups side by side. You will have to use your best judgement to trim and move as necessary. For a couple I had to trim some of the side of the cup off because of the angle.

Got them both in? Great! Replace the head and admire your work.

Side note: I did notice some eyewells were deeper than others (looking at you Dante) I did have to do a little bit of pre padding carefully around the eyeball before placing the cap, just to help keep the eye in position. Be sure to check often to make sure there is no stray fluff peeking around the eye.

This was a quick and dirty explanation of how I did this. It isn’t pretty, but it works. Now the dolls have more expression than ever from sultry, to suspicious, to downright deviant.

Feel free to use or make improvements upon this concept. It’s meant to be a cheap and easy project.

I purchased this body from the DOA marketplace in 2022. Those who follow me will know how much of an ordeal it was trying to get it delivered lol. In any case, I've decided to go a new direction with that doll idea, and so the body is for sale.

No damage, no mods, no staining, though she does have faint traces of an old body blush on her toes and in her belly button (toes pictured above - it's hard to photograph). She is from approx. 2019. I would prefer to ship her strung, but if I have to, I can probably take her apart. Please note that this body is Big (almost 70cm by itself, and just generally large). She does NOT have a COA.

OR-DOLL/NYX VAMPIRE KATRINA HEAD ("normal" resin) - $70 USD + SHIPPING

Bought this head new in 2018 through NewCloverSinging on ebay. I believe she is discontinued, as I cannot find her anywhere. There was a variation with more closed eyes, but this is the open-eyes version. Her headplate (the one inside her head) likes to pop out from time to time, but it can be glued back in easily. She comes with her COA, and I may even have her original box somewhere. If you'd like it, please let me know, and I will hunt for it.

Harucasting Smile Maji head: She’s some kind of tan resin, but I don’t 100% remember which one. Her previous owner split the head and body so the coa went with the body. I remember her previous owners name & email, but I don’t recall their instagram handle. Maji has thankfully NOT been recasted so I do not worry about her legitimacy, but I wanted to be upfront about that detail. Her magnets need to be reglued and she still has faceup residue. As with any of my Harucasting dolls, in respect to Haru’s wishes, I will only sell his dolls to pro-artist/anti-recast individuals.

5stardoll Elf Elaine: She was painted by her previous owner and given a mani-pedi which is chipping as well as pretty purple body shimmer. Her face still has faceup residue on it. She’s really cute but I need to make room — I am willing to sell her head separately, though. According to her card of authenticity she was produced in late 2018. I believe she is in normal pink skin.

Latidoll Blue Yern:

Yern is a slim MSD sized doll and the Blue (MSD) line has been long discontinued. Yern still has her coa and Latidoll manual, as well as the emblem in and outside of her head. I am not sure of the specifics but her torso has had some kind of mod job for mobility reasons?

Yern is from early 2009 and has certainly yellowed, but her yellowing appears to be consistent. Yern would probably benefit from a restringing with thicker elastics but I can get her to pose and stand just fine. Her s hooks were replaced and she has traditional/standard bjd s hooks in her wrists and ankles. For whatever reason one elbow likes to stay slightly bent. Yern will be shipped UNSTRUNG so that would be a good opportunity for her elastics to be changed; she still has an o hook for her head.

Her faceup is holding up really well considering it is quite old but please be aware that it is old, has some wear, and it is not factored into the price I am selling Yern at. The biggest sign of wear I noticed as a small dark streak near her temple.

She has some damage near her foot/ankle. Considering her age I think she has been holding up really well.

Dollzone MSD Girl Body: normal pink resin. Arrived from Alice collections in late 2022, spent most of its time in the box. Asking $200 + shipping.

Harucasting Big Geuru: She is in neul medium tan. She has a face up by @tonocha331. She has an extra pair of hands and comes with her box and card of authenticity. She will come without clothes or eyes.

She has some small s hook scratches in one wrist from a previous owner and several small scratches on her belly. Her face up seems to be in overall good condition other than three shiny spots on the side of her head. $550 + shipping

Logandolls Primrose: Primrose in light tan (coffee) with additional heel feet (strung) and an extra pair of hands. She does not come with a company box but she has a card of authenticity and comes with a blanket that I believe logandolls made for her. Received in a trade from my friend @groovyblueworld! Hehe, she is always so cute! Emily's replacement body from huajingdoll arrived. For the price point I am pleased ( ´∀`) I wanted to replce the single jointed and in retrospect absolutely tiny original

Pros: It holds posses well and stands rock solid, I rather like the sculpting of the torso; it has a mature vibe that I like and suits character since she is supposed to be a young adult.

Neither here or there: neck is a little smaller than the souldoll one but nothing a silcone kip didn't fix. Considering how slap dash I am with my hybrid plans I am relieved with the fit 😂 elbow joints are a little awkwardly split but not that unusual with this style of joints. Her hands feel a little small but are nicely sculpted. Her shins feel a little long but common problem with bjd.

The cons: her feet are kind of ugly tbh, feels like the sculptor didn't enjoy making them, the toes are tube shaped and all more or less the same to one another and the heel is thick and relatively shapeless. They aren't absolutely terrible, but rather, they stand out compared to how nicely the rest of the body is sculpted

But considering the body was only 150$ or so I can't complain too much lol (the loose hair is doll hair her wig is shedding since it's new and hasn't quite lost all the loose stuff yet) I will need to repaint her to match :p at the age of the head a resin match was not worth pursuing

Tomorrow the pale yellow resin should be delivered 🤞 and I will start the first batch

i saw one of my moots do this and i have many headcanons for mine so i thought id also post mine :D

(small sidenote a lot of these i stole borrowed from other creators and fics and stuff so i will highlight the unoriginal ones and put a key at the bottom)

addisons are 3d models so they can do stuff like glitch out and clip into walls n whatnot (but it only really happens when somethings wrong which is why spamtons is so much worse)

spamton can pop his jaw and limps in and out of place like a doll (also bjd body if that wasnt obvious)

spamton is eerily good at piano - he learnt it during his big shot era

addison hands are kinda like mitts which they can split into fingers if needed. also they can split into claws for self defence if one is in danger

spamtons ad speech and glitchiness get worse when hes stressed :c

spamton pretty much always speaks super energetically, like minecraft youtuber style

spamtons skin is made of plastic but normal addison skin is not. this also means spamton doesnt have the same thing where his hands arent mitt like which he can split into fingers theyre just always hand

addisons are luminescent but spamton isnt bc puppet

spamton (and jevil) can both speak wingdings

spamtons always had the pipis but they havent always looked like pipis. they used to look like a little red notification dot and the number on the dot would show how much damage it would do

all addisons just have black eyes (sometimes theyre lines and sometimes not depends if i can be arsed to draw proper eyes lol) but spamtons are a bright blue from the shadow crystal incident. if you look closely enough you can see a sun and clouds

also he doesnt have very good vision and without his glasses his eyes will feel like theyre burning

i believe in puppetification theory more than acid theory but i think that the acid is still harmful to addisons. if it comes in contact with their skin it can cause rashes/burning (like a bad sunburn) and if they swallow it it can make them ill or glitchy. if they swallow too much than it can cause irreversible code corruption, which is the main reason why spamton is so glitchy (but mike still caused a lot of the speech thing, its just the physical glitching caused by the acid)

spamton is super agile and sneaky like a cat (i mean no one found him for years in cyber city which isnt a massive place so it makes sense)

can mimic voices really well but in the bracketed speech. basically he can record voices

There are no censorship rules but please tag or specify subject matter if it's disturbing. Tw topic or cw topic are the preferred format. Epilepsy is the tag for epileptics to chat so tag #flashing lights if needed. 👾I really loved his faceup but I struggled with the pink color for how I imagined the character. I ended up taking a huge risk and wiping one of my fave faceups to color match and try again! It would be nice to have a full DDD in that lovely shade but I am happy I get to enjoy Misao sculpt either way!

BJD Box Opening :: Dream Valley Apocalypse Horseman Withered

Last year I got one of my ultimate long time grails, a Soom Heliot unicorn Version! But then Dream Valley came out with the Apocalypse Horseman, whose body suited the character even better than the Soom one…

After much debating and thinking, I decided to order the DV body and get a new head for the Soom Heliot Body. I did upgrade my order to a full doll as I was approached by someone who only needed the head. Fortunately I was able to paint the head for my split partner and he was fun to work on.

But anyway, onto the box opening pictures!

First up, the box, it did suffer some damage in shipping as you can see.

Siggy had to investigate, so far so good on the company box. Let’s open it!

The first look inside the box reveals a foam sheet and a QR code. Nice touch. Let’s continue!

Now for the proper first look inside the box, which shows black foam padding, the headless body completely wrapped in soft packaging foam wrap, CoA on top, and th e Head and tail in an extra compartment. Mind you this doll is huge, he’s 75cm tall, as is the box so it makes sense they sent the head detached.

First investigation revealed the head, the tail (which is way lighter than I thought it would be), and the gift melamine sponge square and some eyes.

Time to unwrap this mummy!

Some monster nails, I’m honestly impressed they arrived in one piece, as they feel rather delicate. Let’s unwrap the tail next!

I giggled more than I think I should have at the butt skull, but it is nicely done! It even has notches to hold the tail in different positions, and it holds with 3 magnets to the butt. The tail itself is follow!

I have no intention of ever using this piece, so it gets to live in one of my spare parts boxes.

Now for a good look at the head. I split it off, but it definitely has nice sculpting to it. The nose is especially nice!

The the rest of the images will stick under a read more break as they include nude full body pictures. Avert thy eyes!

And of course we must appreciate how nicely the body is sculpted here. Just look at those vein lines long the thighs! And every piece is double jointed, which has its pros and cons of course.

Pros:

Super flexible

Smooth engineering

Looks lovely no matter how the joints are engaged

Cons:

There are no locks, so he likes it try and buckle due to the sheer weight of a 75cm doll

the limbs like to spin around a bit too

And there you have him, dressed to impress (or rather travel), and with the tail I made him instead as he’s a unicorn and needed an appropriate tail for that.

By now he has new hands, and a different wig, since the character he represents would never let his nails grow that long… the wig I replaced because this one sat weird with his horn.

1.Have you ever picked up a habit from developing/writing one of your own characters? And if so, who and what?

i don't think so actually. generally I give my habits (and habits from friends and family and other irl people) to ocs instead. I have picked up some odd habits from drawing and cartoons in general though, especially anime. mostly cause my brain can't exit artist mode and i'm constantly thinking about how i would draw stuff, so it's like that 'making weird faces when your drawing an expression' but instead it's 'over exaggerates my every movement because i am thinking about how i would draw that movement'

11.Which character has been through the most design changes?

gosh! a lot of pokemelody characters have beeen through DRASTIC design changes but not like, the most. so probably my sona character! here's a sketch i did once showing the basic progression. during the redesign segments though there's a bunch of mini phases of drafts that didn't stick. they've been through a few different eras. I like to split it into three main eras! the primative era (defining traits are galaxy hair and high fantasy aesthetics) the Sailor era (this era had the most story as a self insert oc, defining design traits is a sailor-fuku outfit and pigtail buns.) the confused era (era where i rebooted my sona but was still figuring stuff out, this era's defining traits is a visible ribcage, and way too busy/unfocused of a design) And finally the modern era! (simpler and more focused design but has a couple other forms with the shape shifter aspect. notably while theres still some scrapbook/sewing aesthetics the entire body is now bjd/doll instead of being a confusing mix)

fun facts about the design/s

-sailor era design had no heterochromia and had my irl brown hair, because i was younger and cringe culture was still super prominent: specifically that part where every 'character design tips thing' would tell you to avoid stuff like heterochromia and fangs and cool colorful hair unless they god forbid look like a mary sue.

-i think i've said this before but a year or so after I added that front bangs super long back hair short thing (plus litterally had my hair cut to match) a popular/influential artist made a character with this trait and it suddenly became a more common design trait. obvi i'm not trying to 'gatekeep' the design or claim i'm the first guy EVER to come up with it. but i would be lying if i didn't say i feel 'ahead of my time' and think it's funny to joke about this super big artist that def doesn't know i exist having 'copied' me fndjask

-one main design shift is the shift from the angel aesthetic to adding in some demon aesthetics

-all throughout the confused era the angel wings changed color according to mood, the chart used was to inconsistent and complicated though so this trait ended up being lost.

-starting with the confused era and sitll present in modern era my sona is a shapeshifting shiny mimikyu :3 and the idea is that their humanoid form is like, lowkey hollow, so the mimikyu body is inside

-despite having more inhuman traits i'd actually say modern era sona takes more inspo from my irl appearance than any previous design

26.What's your favorite relationship/dynamic between a set of OCs?

afndsjkfna i can't choose because i love different dyanmics for different reasons fnsdjkaf. ummm heres some honorary mentions!

-kazumi and fukusha have this thing where they hate each other's guts, it's fun!

-SCOTT N TIP i've only posted about them once and they're lowkey co-owned sorta? (i designed them on my own and then an irl friend of mine took a likeing to them and started writing short stories with them, we'd like to make a point and click game series called 'Dectective Cardimen Scott + Tip' with them someday :3) Scott and Tip's designs litterally came from a little excercize I did on designing duos. Scott's a private investigator and was looking for an assistant, the enthusiastic Tip took up the job! they have this cartoon-inspired dynamic where their relationship is vague and up for interpretation. They're business partners and roomates at the least :3

34.What scene that you've written/imagined is your favorite?

hmmmmmmmmm generally speaking i prefer the like inbetween anti-climatic slice of life-y scenes but theres this climatic/hyped-up scene in arc '1.5' of Pokemelody that I'm excited for in the theoretical future where i make this a thing. arc 1.5 is the start of a redemption arc for the final villain of arc 1, the plot is the villain searching for someone she did something unforgivable too with the goal of apologizing.

also scenes where the characters are finally happy and content and theres shojo sparkles to express this my beloved.

scenes i include a lot of because they're what i want to see more of is like, characters having weird inhuman-physical traits both as casual details that are dispersed throughout but also like, when it's directly addressed or played around with. I feel like everything only ever gives me little hints of that sorta stuff and fanfic focusing on it is hard to come bye so i guess i'll just have to do everything msyelf around here lmao.

I joined the bjd hobby around 2018 and its been a life saver in the sense that it has helped me stay motivated in life and its kinda therapy for me because it makes me happy and it has allowed me to be creative, because my line of work is just numbers related, i am married and i can say me and my partner have a great relationship, so its not like i had a reason to be depressed, Just kinda needed a hobby to keep me going if that makes sense, something that was alone for me and to enjoy, and by pure chance i found it in dolls. Anyway I recently turned 40 and i took a huge chunk of my money to indulge and get a couple of grail dolls and lots of clothes and things for them, financially i can say i am not so relaxed but i own a couple of properties and have my own car, my partner works too so its not like she depends economically on me although we split the bills, the thing is that like many People nowadays, It's unlikely i will retire and have a relaxed life in my old days if i get to that age, so i cant help to feel a bit guilty on spending money that i might need in the future when i can no longer work, but at the same time i feel happy looking at my new dolls and things, my reasoning is a bit "fuck it i might die tomorrow and never got to obtain these things and enjoy them" and also i know its frowned upon but even when i love my dolls i see them as material possesions, so i always try to get items that i know somehow won't lose their value and that I can possibly sell if i need to, so i see it a bit like an investment. I just felt like i needed to get it out of my chest, but at the same time i would like to know your thoughts on my situation, i don't want you to tell me if im right or wrong tho but all replies are welcome, my point is i am not seeking for validation, just kinda Wonder if anyone else can relate and has done "irresponsable spending" and what is your reasoning, thank you so much for reading and pardon my broken english, it's not my native tongue, and thank you admin for your hard work running this blog ❤️

When we first saw this series, my partner and I were not impressed. Additionally, the crowdfunding campaign for the series was held around the same time as "Once in Sicily" (you can read more about this series here). We were a bit disappointed with the final design of the characters and decided to skip this series... or so we thought. Then they introduced a limited edition model of Zack, which could be obtained as a bonus with the "All-In" option or purchased separately.

It so happens that he somewhat resembles a character from the Chinese game Honkai: Star Rail, and my partner is a huge fan of that character. So she mentioned that she wants to have that Zack. Gladly someone was splitting an "all-in" set in the group where we ordered our Sicilian boys and I managed to get that Zack.

However, this was not the end of the story. Not long after, I realized that I wanted a Zack of my own as well, and those two boys in maids' outfits looked really cute. So I asked the person we work with who handles blind box doll orders if any of these two were available. To my surprise, both was available... I decided not to choose and say that they are twins.

A pink model is a secret edition with a 1:72 chance to get from a blind box. The blue model is a limited edition in alternative colors, which will not be manufactured outside of the crowdfunding campaign, similar to the dragon boy mentioned above.

All Zacks are BJDs (use elastic cords to maintain poses) and are approximately 20 centimeters tall.
