Here’s an actual confession. I’ve never told anyone this and I never will. One of my dolls I got with my partner, helped choose the name and everything. While he wasn’t super into this hobby it meant a lot to me that he did this. He died. It’s taken me a long time to move on from this and every time I see the doll it takes everything not to burst into tears. When I look at the doll it all just reminds me of him so I’ve started spritzing the clothes with his cologne and it’s really helped honestly. It just makes me feel like he’s still here in a way and not truly gone. I myself have fallen out of the hobby but this doll is the one that will stay with me forever. It means so much to me.

some friends & i ended up talking about animorphs a while ago. at some point in the conversation i was explaining andalites to my partner who never read the books, stopped & went ".........you know what i'm gonna do?" to which people responded with "make an andalite bjd?" and yes. they were absolutely correct.

this also finally motivated me to sculpt a centaur body with more joints. i'm very happy with the range of motion in this, especially how nicely it lies down. need to work a little bit on stability, but the poseability is where i want it.

heyy!! here I am with some more thoughts, this time about Elias.

honestly, for some reason, he seems like a very lonely person to me. you mentioned his will to change himself (and go to extreme lengths in that); also his almost paranoid fear of darling leaving him, (delete all of your contacts except for him, etc) – usually such level of jealousy is a sign of very low self-esteem. dunno if it's true, I just had a feeling that he's super insecure deep down. (he's afraid to look bad in our eyes, remember? to an unhealthy extent.)

and he's so empty. so beautiful on the outside, but so so empty. he loves you, he exists for you, isn't that enough? it isn't. you can't feel genuine affection for someone just because they look good. and Elias knows that! he's actually self conscious (unlike some elf with big tatas), but he can't offer you anything else, which must make him feel even more insecure, because deep down he knows that he won't be able to keep you by his side forever.

actually that will of his to go to extreme lengths for us is pretty frightening. how toxic it can be? depends on the darling! because if you are a normal person, you'd be patient with him, change him, and have a happy ever after and all those boring things. but what if Elias happens to fall in love with an unreasonable and possessive monster?

I feel like he'd go very well with a darling who's yandere for him too. and a stereotypical one at that, who'd want to keep him by their side like a pretty doll. get it? not a life partner, not even a human. a doll, a pretty thing to take care of. they would choose pretty clothes for him, brush his hair, but at the end of the day, he's nothing more but a pretty thing, an object.

I really like the doll metaphor for Elias. (I'm a huge doll lover, I ever have one of that super expensive bjd) dolls are beautiful, but aren't alive. they can't be someone you'd open your heart to; under their shiny porcelain skin, they're hollow.

unlike Silas, Elias is a more tragic character in my eyes. he's willing to carve his bones to whatever shape you desire, because if he isn't validated and noticed by you, he has no value. and you (if you are a normal person) will grow tired and bored of him, sooner or later. he wants to be loved, when there's pretty much nothing to love in him.

unlike Silas, his love can ruin only himself.

(I swear it's not like I want to see him suffer in particular. I'm open to all kinds of despair, pain and sadness, whether it yan's or darling's!)

(also I tried to find his colour scheme, but all I found was you mention his hair, so it's just how I think he looks like.)

You’re very on point, Elias is like a pretty doll. Beautiful on the outside but completely empty inside, and that beauty is the only thing that gives him any kind of worth. He’s aware of this more than anyone.

He’s not rich, he doesn’t have an amazingly successful career, no hobbies, no specialities, no interests. He’s extremely pathetic and all he can do is pitifully attempt to pull you down to his level.

That’s why committing self harm comes so easily to him even if he doesn’t yearn for it. Endangering himself, his only value, his body, is the only way he can keep you with him. He doesn’t have any power over you he can use against you. He only has this disgustingly and pathetically beautiful body.

He wants to be loved by you, he wants you to be obsessed with him as much as he is with you, but deep down he knows he doesn’t have any qualities that could deserve such love. That is why he leans into his appearance so hard, since the moment he was born that face of his was the only thing that gave him any sort of value.

If you find any part of him ugly he’ll have no choice but to try to fix it even if it completely ruins him. Because he thinks that’s the only way for him to keep your eyes on him. He’s just through and through pathetic. Extremely pitiful.

He would indeed roll well with a yandere reader who treats him like a living doll. Because Elias wants to be values by you, even if it means getting stripped of the little sense of identity he had. He wants you to keep your eyes on him and see him as an object who exists for your satisfaction. Because at the end of the day that is what he is. An empty shell who was unfortunate enough to be born with the ability to love.

Elias’ existence can’t handle his own love. He’ll start breaking from inside out like a doll under pressure. That’s why he needs your reassurance, he needs you to reaffirm his worth. He can’t exist for himself so he needs to exist for you. He might be a beautiful shell of a human but he too can have some sort of value if he’s being used like a tool by you.

But watching you also makes him feel extremely jealous and frustrated. Because you have everything he doesn’t have. You have hobbies, things you enjoy, things you do for yourself, people who stay with you not for your outer shell but for who you are inside. Everything Elias never had and never will.

That’s why he tries so hard to ruin your relationships and threaten you to stay with him, to keep you at his level like a pathetic bug. Because you’re not like him. You can abandon him any day of the week and continue your life like you lost nothing, but Elias isn’t like that. If he loses you he truly will have nothing left.

So please love him, ruin him, break him, treat him right, use him, make him feel alive, give him some sort of value. Please be kind to Elias. He needs you more than anyone on this world

a few weeks ago, i attended the annual triangle doll, toy, & miniature show! i’ve been going for the past couple of years and it’s always a blast. i love meeting and chatting with other local doll enthusiasts, and of course, shopping. this year i was thrilled to pick up a pukipuki bjd (photos to come!) as well as some only hearts club clothes and shoes!

though she isn’t interested in dolls (save the star wars jizz wailer doll she found there), my partner colette was sweet enough to accompany me to the show! she also recently directed a music video for destroyer’s latest album, dan’s boogie. i mention this because eagle-eyed indie rock/doll collectors may notice she included a shot from the doll show in the video! :)

having her there - and having such a fun day out memorialized in a music video for one of my favorite artists - definitely made this my best doll show yet. 🥰

i fear this is vague so you get me rambling about snart.

this is snart look at my tool, boy. (its name is saturn. lmao.)

people who have seen me talk about saturn before might be saying 'but wait isnt saturn an isabeau'??? to which i say its a koz lord of vampires kinda deal. my freak now.

saturn was a person once ! it is not anymore. and it likes it that way. it refers to itself as if it were an object and asks that others do the same. you cant really see it in these doodles but it is jointed like a bjd!! its skin feels more or less like actual skin, though. but if you pay attention it does seem a little synthetic. the ring around its head is solid porcelain, as are its earrings.

it wears a blindfold because it can see without any use of its actual physical eyes! the way i tend to describe it is that its vision is like a third person perspective trying really hard to be first person., just a little bit outside itself. but its actual eyes still work! so it gets to be overwhelmingly bright and a little blurry without the blindfold because it literally cannot turn off the extra vision.

uuuuh. i think a lot of the deal with saturn is that it had to learn how to exist again. it spent a very long time trapped in a shitty situation and that doesnt just... go away. its had to figure out how to be comfortable with itself, its had to figure out how to be close to others, its!!! a whole thing.

a lot of its deal is tied with my partners pet freak uranus. lmao. but uuuh. something about identity and becoming comfortable with what it is. something about falling in love and following that love. weghgh saturn doesnt really have an overarching plot so much as various situations i put it in but it is soso very dear to me.

I had a dream last night where I owned a tiny BJD that was an anthro slug. Just a lil guy that was a slug from the hips down, with pretty frilled detail around the edges of the foot. And magnetic antennas. I told my partner about this dream and he wants the slug body to be jointed. As a native Oregonian, I feel up to this challenge.

Also, doll head pets, but a chibi slug! Tell me that would not be adorable!

My (now ex) bf and I broke up at the start of the year. Although he was never involved in the hobby, it has still made interacting with my dolls hard.

I can’t pick one up and fiddle around with their clothes or try to sew them something without thinking about how I used to do that in the room with him while he played video games. Or how I’d show them off to him in the clothes I made. Or how they’d sit on a shelf right outside our bedroom.

All the photos I’ve taken of them were in our home. One of his posters used as a photo backdrop or the tapestry I had by my desk in the computer/craft room. There’s just so many memories tied to them im wondering if I should sell them and start a new collection or just leave the hobby all together. I can’t see how I’d untangle the memories.

i've been making a lot of cute little creachers lately, so i wanted to sculpt something more mature & intricate. i was going to print this one in blue & green, but at the last moment my brain went "print the whole thing in beige and paint it pastel, trust me bro" and i think it was a good call. she is lacking back flippers because i just genuinely forgot about them, and didn't want to print an entire new shell and let this one go to waste. if i make more as commissions or such, i'll add the back pair.

also, i actually got some natural light to take pictures in, and oh. right. photography doesn't need to be a struggle when the sun cooperates.

Tada! I ordered a Yun Doll from aliexpress a few weeks ago and I'm already done painting her haha. It took me ages to track down the source of this 3D printed doll, the artist is located in China and has put out several BJD STL files for free, which explains why it's so easy to find on sites like aliexpress, alongside Dollightful's original rabbit BJD that was also released for free. I read somewhere that the artist has since partnered with some online stores, so you can buy official prints of these dolls, but all the info was in chinese and I kinda hit a wall there. I didn't manage to find the STLs themselves, unfortunately.

Anyhow! she's done! This is my first time customizing a BJD, and it was a really fun process. I did make some quick green cabochon eyes, but I have more options coming in the mail. I'm also hoping to make some clothes for her too :)

Stardust's owner adopted a retired Medical Grade Helper!

This is Napkin G. Winston aka "Winnie"

Medical Grade HelperBots (MGs) are as the name suggests, made for people who need assistance with their medical conditions.

Medical Grades come only in standard Sun and Moon models, and they're bigger and stronger than regular HelperBots with more memory space for the needed knowledge.

You can only get a working MG if you have a good insurance for your medical condition. Or by adopting a retired one, like Stardust's owner did.

This is how big Winston is compared to Stardust:

(If you're familiar with BJDs, Stardust/regular HelperBots are the size of MSD -dolls, and Winston/Medical Grades are the size of SD -dolls.)

Winnie originally had a different owner, but after his first owner's death, he had to retire, or go through a complete memory swipe/reset. He didn't want to lose all the memories of his first owner he took care of, so he decided to retire instead.

Winston is, just like most Moon-model MGs, serious and quiet. He is still getting used to not needing to take care of someone so strictly, and still grieves his old owner's death.

He is often just quietly observing things, and talks like old people...

Stardust actually doesn't like him at first at all. He thinks Winston has come to steal his owner's attention and all the work Stardust is supposed to take care of.

But in the end, Stardust warms up for Winston. Tasks are easier to take care of when you got two extra hands, and Winston is a great help with Stardust's separation anxiety from their owner.

Eventually, even love seems to bloom between the two. Rivals to Friends to Lovers route here XD

Fun fact: Winston's name is a pun; while Winston/Winnie is the name mostly used for him, "Napkin G." is a joke between the words "Napkin" - because he is sad and grieving and needs napkins to wipe his tears - and "NapkinG" - because he's a moon-mode, thus, a nap king.

Spoils of another doll show!

This one was absolutely fantastic, I had such a great time with my partner and cousin, and the deals were phenomenal!

I've got a giant breakdown of everything i bought and pricing under the cut since it's so long, but please give it a read if you're interested!

It turned out to be a Lagoona day, and as she's my favorite Monster High character I was very pleased.

Skull Shores was my first purchase of the day, 15 dollars but missing her original bottoms and her leg fins (which is expected with lagoona) she's my favorite by far, her face is so stunning. The Ice CAM was from the same vendor at 25 dollars, I love her sculpt but I'll be redressing her for sure.

The busted Dot Dead Gorgeous next to her was just shoved inside the G2 carry case, she came with viperines vipers wrapped around her like a loin cloth and some random paper straps, so she was clearly played with pretty hard. It was 10 bucks for the doll and case so I did snatch her up, she'll need some work but I've got high hopes.

Ghouls Beast Pet was such a strange line, who is that random sea turtle? She was complete for 10 bucks! Like a lot of G2 Lagoonas she's pretty gremlin-y, but something about her just captures me.

Bonus mini goona, a fantastic seller I visit every show gave me her in a little bundle of accessories for 5 bucks!

Coffin Bean Clawdeen, who is by far the most gorgeous clawdeen I've ever seen, the kneepads, purple boots and orange flip flops, and the 2 stands also came from the vendor I got Mini Lagoona from. those were all 35 together.

I ended up with my first bratzilla, ohhhhh she's gorgeous. I so wish they didn't have polypropylene hair, I feel like they would have been a force to be reckoned with. She was 20 dollars from a vendor who also had their own BJD sculpt they were showing, it was a little alien and the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Speaking of BJDs! My girlfriend really likes the blind box ones so we got a few, and ended up with some very lucky pulls.

We bought bonnies last show and this show she went for the 10 thousand escape plan series, and one Bonnie, we couldnt stay away from her x3

We ended up with my favorite of the Bonnie series, the little fashionista with the octopus bag, and the red bunny and grey cat of the others. Bunnies are her favorite animal so we got quite lucky! they were 3 for 75 dollars and we went halvsies on them, (but they are all hers lol)

I bought some loose clothing. Lots of socks, a licca chan dress, and a BJD dress. both dresses were 5 each, and two packs of multiple socks were 1 dollar each! The Licca dress is super cute, I don't have a Licca chan doll yet but I'll be getting one when I visit Japan next month!

Last but not least, some Littlest pet shop!! The Spaniel and rat were in a bag with the little later gen pets for 5 bucks, and the Ferret, Octopus, and Seahorse were 24 together.

Hello hello! :) I’m here for our matchup trade for Black Butler! (I sent the pictures for the Paparazzi end :) )

Starting off I am a neurodivergent, queer (but attracted to masculinity) female. I go by she/they and im an INFP Sagittarius.

Physically, I am a 5’2” but wear platform converse or boots every day of my life. Style wise, im definitely alternative. However, Im also a fan of the baggy jeans, tight top, kinda side of grunge. Im also a sucker for black with pastels, so I suppose my color pallete would fall under “Pastel Goth” or something similar. I actually really love the style called “Morute” which stands for “Morbidly Cute”. I just absolutely adore the creepy-cute combination, and i aspire to look like a creepy doll somedays.

That also would lead into hobbies, as I love dolls! I collect them and will gush over them any time i see one in public i like. Especially going to cons and seeing the little stands with BJD dolls? I go feral-...and broke. My entire room is decorated in pretty dolls, anime figures, manga, and cherry blossom vines. (I really want a cherry blossom tattoo on my back but im terrified of needles-) My other hobbies include writing, skateboarding, singing/making music, and dancing! I have a band with friends right now. I’m training my voice to be a metal singer despite having a feminine voice, so im a bit shy with it right now.

Personality wise, I suppose it tends to fluctuate, but i think what sticks the most is that I'm extremely sweet and loyal. I used to be very shy, and can even be pretty quiet nowadays too. Im definitely introverted but, ive gotten much better with it. Friends would definitely say that im bubbly, always trying to laugh. Definitely witty too because I absolutely love bantering and softly bullying people. Id say im very emotionally intelligent when it comes to other people. Im definitely a realist, and im told im very good with advice and empathizing with people. I feel i understand other emotions more than mine sometimes. Which annoys me- Because I have a habit of not expressing anything negative. I think it might be due to past trauma, but I have a hard time staying angry or upset with people. Its like- once you screw me over, i have no issues getting rid of you. I dont like that i can easily disconnect from people, as I feel it makes me sound like a bad person, but I just feel l like if i know my worth, and someone isnt treating me as they should, I shouldnt keep them in my life. That does go to say though, that I am an all or nothing person with people I care about. If i am your friend, I trust you can come to me with anything and I vice versa no matter what. I always come through and i expect the same. 

Another bad habit though would be disappearing. I wouldnt call it ghosting because I always pop back up, but I usually dont respond or see people for weeks or even months, even close friends. Most that are close know that if they need to talk to me, they have to double text or call me. Ill always answer then. I dont mean to, I just for some reason am really consistent with randomly dropping off the face of the earth for everyone but my partner, or person closest. Texts are always paragraphs though! Im not a dry texter, just forget I exist and have to respond :) Not to mention, i have ran away out of state before just for the sake of going and exploring. (Did a lot of Urbex and trespassing- it was fun but i dont think ill ever go to abandon buildings like that again. That doesnt mean ill stop climbing trains though!) I just love road trips and little late night adventures. 

Some notes about me… Id say my fears involve needles, the dark (I sleep with a nightlight but love horror-), Clowns, and deep water. I cannot swim and have nearly drowned before so I actually hate going swimming. I dont see the appeal and start to panic if i cant see or touch the bottom. I wouldnt say im scared of spiders though like most. I actually am the person my job calls for to grab spiders and take them outside. If theyre cute, ill just grab them with my hand. Another thing is that I have OCD and PTSD. My OCD isnt the typical stereotype of being clean, Im just very routine with patterns. The person im with has to be okay with frequent alarms I set for different time frames, my strange eating habits (I cant have anything touching, one food at a time, soft foods over crunchy, and i absolutely love bananas but cant eat them unless someone peels them for me while im not looking) I also get very paranoid about certain things, like for example, i get little episodes sometimes where I freak out because I believe Ill inherent my dads schizophrenia and Ill because dissociated with reality, so whoever im with needs to be able to help assure me i wont just lose my mind- That being said, my least favorite love language is touch! I can be touched, but its very easy to overwhelm my due to past trauma. I also flinch very easily without even thinking and it gets annoying when people make fun of it. Because of this as well, im a very silent walker and tend to scare people because i subconsciously make myself as unnoticeable as possible. Im also an insomniac. I will not go to bed until the sun is up, and even then I wake up very easily. My doctor keeps trying to give me medications for it so i can sleep better, but its so ironic because I stop taking them constantly because I hate feeling tired. SO someone who doesnt mind being up a bit late would be appreciated :) 

Random facts are: I absolutely adore raccoons and rats, and used to be a rat mom! I’ll spit out little rodent facts like im google. I know morse code. Im an amazing driver. Undertaker's very touchy by nature, I would say. After noticing you flinch, he'd be unsure if his presence and being a grim reaper still intimidates you in some way, if he decides talking to you about it, Undertaker will resort to gift giving and quality time.

Being a quiet walker doesn't matter with Undertaker, as he senses your presence, he isn't human after all, or easy to startle.

Grim Reapers require both sleep and sustenance, but have you seen Undertaker? That man runs on two hours of sleep maximum, he also definitely wouldn't mind staying up late. Dancing late at night, while nobody is watching, is definitely a reoccurring activity in a relationship with the Undertaker. He can be a bit overbearing at times.

Depending what century you're imagining this in, Undertaker loves when you drive, it's sort of an adrenaline rush for him.
