Thank you to the people of Islas Del Rosario for being so welcoming to me. Taking the time or even having the opportunity to actually visit places like this is beyond a blessing. I don’t speak much Spanish, but with a few words, body language and good energy, you can accomplish anything. I was welcomed by the beautiful humans of this island when I arrived into their town. I went with a local that worked at the resort. I was beyond grateful to eat local foods, to be welcomed in their spaces like their bathrooms where I used a toilet to relieve myself. To watch women cook in their kitchens. To sit with humans that lived in a parallel world to mine where a young girl didn’t even want to touch my camera. But even more amazing, we were both very intrigued by how are our skin tones are very much the same. I even saw some 4C hair in town lol I cried as they showed me what it feels like to be a person, not an option on a scantron. Not a label. No prejudices of my character based on media, just Aubri. Morocco is a place that for many years had had a mysterious pull on me. But I always ignored it. Usually, when I first notice this, it’s an indication to me that there is some fascinating experience I am to have in this particular country. I have mentioned this before, but the first place in which this occurred was in Southern Spain. I still recall walking some of the beautiful side streets there and encountering many Moroccans who had made Spain their home. I would tell them of how amazed I was by what I had seen in Spain, particularly fragments of their culture and their influence in the region. They would always say to me : “If you think this place is beautiful, wait till you see Morocco.” That experience had always stuck with me, mainly because it didn’t occur just once but a few times throughout that trip. I immediately took that as a sign from the universe. There is a spiritual component of travel that I have never been able to explain completely, but one that has been pivotal to my personal experiences. Although yes, there has been a bit of spontaneity in my selection of countries, there are moments when I’ve received signs, symbols, or even physical gifts that have been key to the selection of the subsequent country I would visit. I stumbled across The Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista whilst wandering the streets of Venice. I later found out that the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista is a confraternity, and it was founded in the 13th century by a group of flagellants. Maui, Hawaii • Circa August 2021 I couldn’t let August end without recapping Maui. For starters, thank you @jawzrsize for the amazing trip to Maui as the 30 Day Challenge winner. Maui was beautiful. It’s a chill island so if you’re looking for a party island, this isn’t the place. Maui is a place for peace and relaxation & So much sight seeing. I stayed at the Maui Banyan Condos which was literally across the street from the beach. Quite a few shops & restaurants close early so make sure you’re eating around 5:00 ☀️ The weather was great. No higher than 81 degrees. No cooler than like 73 during my trip. Very little rain. Places to sight see 1. Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree 2. Twin Falls 3. Haleakala (sunset pic) 4. Pu’u Kukui 5. Literally Any Beach Also you have to have a Negative PCR test when going. Please go to Walgreens.
