Meet Labahita! The term may refer to different species of surgeonfish found in our seas. And they seem to like Marine protected areas or MPAs. After an MPA was established around Apo Island off the coast of Negros, fish populations of labahita (surgeonfish) and other species tripled! This not only increases supply, but reduces the amount of effort and fuel fishers use to catch our fish. Just be careful when handling labahita, for they are known for their "scalpel-sharp" scales near their tails (hence "surgeonfish"). Alright. So I wasn't originally going to address this, but you've sent me more anons about it since and now I feel like I have to. Just FYI: This anon is referring to my calling marinette's cat transformation Bast in Brooklyn Brawl, and how it's similar to Bastet in @black-streak 's Mission prompt for Maribat March. first of all I want to mention I've spoken to black-streak about this situation beforehand, since your ask mentioned him by name and I felt he deserved to hear about this.

Just as a general note, when I spoke to black-streak he told me he didn't much care about his names being used in any fics, and he considers them "public domain". I completely understand that you might not have known that, and when you had only sent me the first ask I figured I'd just check in with him and just ignore the situation. But you decided to keep going, and at this point I have an issue with your behavior regardless of your intentions.

Here's the thing. The name Bast comes from the name of the ancient Egyptian cat goddess. Its a fairly well known fact (my ten year old brother was the one who suggested I use it as a superhero name), and I wouldn't consider it's use for a cat-themed hero to be particularly ingenious. It's like all the fox miraculi out there called Lady Vixen. It's not a bad name, but it's something a lot of us would instinctively independently come up with if asked for a fox hero name. if someone showed up and tried to take credit for the name and demanding no one else use it, they wouldn't really be taken seriously. Same with the fox/cat miraculous trope, or the 'Lila claimed to be dating X famous person but they showed up and is actually dating/into Marinette' trope. I can go on for ages.

My point is, fandom is a collaborative project, and it's really hard for you to assign credit for a lot of what we write. If you KNOW you took an idea from someone, it's courteous to give them credit for it. And if you can tell a lot of a fic's concept is stolen, feel free to tell the original author. But please don't take it upon yourself to send people rude anons for a small similarity in their work. It's unecessary, and I guarantee you 90% of the time, if it can realistically be considered a coincidence, it probably is.

And honestly, the copyright on ancient gods expired thousands of years ago.

I figured I would finally introduce everyone to my terrible Warrior Cats OCS.

So, I came up with these guys before Bramblestar’s Storm came out. That’s important.

So, Burnpelt and Blackstreak are half-brothers via their mom. They’re originally a wandering pair of loners named Shiner and Streak. Stuff happens, they end up on ShadowClan territory. Now, keep in mind that this story takes place a little while after The Last Hope. So ShadowClan lost a bunch of cats during the Great Battle and Blackstar (this was written before he got killed off) thinks “Hey I should let these two loners join the Clan to get our numbers back up.” and they join ShadowClan.

Now, there’s just one problem. Blackstreak is a total wuss and terrible at fighting. He feels awful about this and one night meets a mysterious cat in his dreams who offers to help him improve. Blackstreak accepts. This will turn out to be a mistake.

Meanwhile Burnpelt meets Darksplash, who is, by the way, one of Blackstar and Russetfur’s two surviving children. She and Burnpelt end up falling in love yada yada yada and later on they have a kit, named Lightningkit.

A few days after Lightningkit is born, Blackstreak has his final dream-meeting with the mysterious cat, who is revealed to be Redwillow ( You know, that Dark Forest trainee that Blackstar killed? The one nobody remembers?) who wants to take revenge on Blackstar for his death. Redwillow possesses Blackstreak and follows Darksplash out of the camp when she goes to get a drink of water. 

And then he murders her, and de-possesses Blackstreak, who is found standing over Darksplash’s corpse.

Now, Burnpelt doesn’t believe him when he claims a dead guy made him do it. Blackstar is pretty broken up after this.

He envied her speed, and skill, and longed for a pet cheetah to hunt for him. He waited, and waited till the mother cheetah left her cubs for a drink at a nearby water-hole. He snuck down to where the little cubs lay, to young to run from the man. He snatched them up by their scruff, and ran until he reached his village. The mother cheetah returned to an empty den. She searched for her cubs, following the scent of the hunter who took them. She let out a wail as she lost the trail at the bank of a river infested with crocodiles. She wept for days, weeks, months. When she finally stopped crying, she found that she had stained her face, leaving black streaks under her eyes. When she had a new litter of cubs, they all bore her black streaks giving them unique beauty. The hunter was angry. The now fully grown cheetah cubs did not fill his greed. He wanted the more stylish look of the cheetahs. He released the cheetahs he once kept as pets, and tried to steal one of the mother cheetahs new cubs. This time the mother cheetah caught him, and reported it to the elders of his village. This angered them, and banished him never to be seen again. This pleased the mother cheetah, and when her cubs grew up, and left, and had cubs of there own they too bore the black streaks. This carried on for generations until all cheetahs where born with the black streaks.

Their humanity is found in their friendships and the people they love, be they Wonder Woman or Superman.
