"The Voice": Blake Shelton pronounces vocalist leader after "strong" Olivia Newton-John's cover
The forces to be reckoned with of Group Legend were brought into the world for an ideal time on "The Voice."
Artists Omar Jose Cardona and Kim Cruse made mentor John Legend pleased during the first round of live exhibitions Monday night with their hazardous magnetism and vocal trapeze artistry.
Cardona started off the live shows with a jolting presentation of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Request."

Becoming Espo: The Story Of Industry Vet John Esposito [Interview] - MusicRow.com
April 21, 2023by LB Cantrell
“I said yes in a heartbeat. I came down here in September of 2009 and never looked back. I had no idea if I’d be successful as a country record label head, but I knew I was going to give it my all and that I was lucky to get that opportunity.”
At the time, Warner’s country music label in Nashville was struggling, with record sales declining. Blake Shelton had been at the label for eight years, and had seen modest success with five No. 1 records, but wasn’t hitting his maximum potential.
“I looked at the roster and the crew that was operating the company and I thought Blake was my greatest opportunity. I thought, I have to help this team make a statement by putting all our eggs in the Blake Shelton basket.”
It worked. Shelton, who is still a WMN artist, boasts 28 No. 1 hits and multiple Gold and Platinum certifications. Over the past two decades he has accumulated more than 8.5 billion global on-demand streams, 13 million career album U.S. sales, and award wins approaching the hundreds.
“I had to convince people that we could win. If we could start winning with Blake, we could win.”
In 2016, Espo celebrated a promotion to chairman and CEO of WMN, and Shelton broke a record for the label with 17 consecutive No. 1 songs on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. In 2018, Espo signed another country hitmaker, Kenny Chesney, who celebrated his 34th No. 1 in January.

"xxx The tempo would change a little bit by the time the man of the hour took the stage, but when he did, everybody knew why Shelton’s name was biggest on the marquee.
With a set that spanned the better part of an hour and 45 minutes, Shelton settled into a pocket that felt as comfy as your favorite barstool. With the brooding intro of “Come Back as a Country Boy” from 2021’s “Body Language” (his most recent full length) he opted to build the energy rather than come out of the gate hot. It would take a few songs for things to really rev up, but Shelton was every bit of an entertainer as his television persona, a combination of no-nonsense country star turned comedic everyman.
Between interacting with the bar up front and his storytelling, Shelton tried to make an arena feel as intimate as can be at times. He would jest at a fan at the bar who didn’t dress up as much as his wife did for the show, before segueing into “Doing What She Likes.” Later, he would tell a story about supposedly FaceTiming with Luke Bryan over crowd interaction before asking the arena to sing along with “Gonna.” When he wasn’t playing around, he was sincerely thanking the fans for being able to come back to cities like Milwaukee year over year and be greeted with large crowds. Every bit of crowd work seemed to set up the next part of the show, a veteran move that felt organic in the moment.
Shelton also wasn’t afraid to explore the slower and lyrically heavier elements of his 20+ year career on Saturday, admitting that he was bringing back “The Baby,” a heartfelt song about a mother passing away, and breaking out love songs like “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking” as well. A pseudo-duet with wife Gwen Stefani via video screen for “Nobody But You” also made for a special moment, and a subtle reminder that the husband-and-wife duo just released a single two weeks ago. While the pace would slow down at times, the set was designed in a way that never brought the crowd entirely out of it before bringing things back up again. “The Baby” would be the heaviest moment, but an immediate turning point, countered by the introductory drones of “Ol’ Red” that got the crowd up once again. From then on, it was a barrage of some of his biggest hits.
Though the night may have overall paced a little slower than expected, the closing string of his greatest hits seemed to be the most economical. Almost no time was wasted between “Hell Right,” “Sure Be Cool If You Did” and “Hillbilly Bone,” each warranting spirited singalongs from the crowd that made for a tidal wave of voices. The party was in full swing for closers “Boys ‘Round Here” and “God’s Country,” making you think that there genuinely might not be an encore after the lengthy main set. The house lights stayed down, though, and a version of “God Gave Me You” served as last call before it was bar time at Fiserv Forum.
To the casual fan, it may be easy to forget that Blake Shelton has maintained a nearly two-and-a-half decade run at the top of modern country music. On Saturday night, though, he showed everyone the crossover entertainer that he had become, without being afraid to nod heavily back to his roots."

It's kind of funny how threatened GR seems to be of Blake's relationship with the boys. I listened an interview with him from last week and he rambled about watching american football with the boys and how its "part of our vibe with my kids". We all know Apollo is huge Cardinals fan - one of the worst teams in the league - only because of his Blakey. I'm pretty sure it was Blake who has passed his passion for the game down to the boys. If it was up to GR, they would all play tennis.
Exactly. And how funny is it that GRs decided to call his best of album Loaded? First, Blake already had enough #1 hits in 2010 to have a greatest hits album and he called it, Loaded The Best of Blake Shelton… 14 years ago. Now, 14 years later, GR is like, hey, let’s call Bush’s Best of…. Loaded.
What kind of psychos the exes are… they both just openly copy.

Blake Shelton - Fully Loaded: God's Country
So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would be talking about the latest album from Country Music Superstar Blake Shelton.  This CD is titled "Fully loaded: God's Country" and was released on Friday December 13th, 2019.  Now let's see what we can find on this 12 track album.
So there are 5 new songs on this greatest hit album.  And 7 songs from Blake he has released earlier.  The new songs are "God's Country" which won him a CMA award, "Jesus got a tight grip", & "Tequila Sheila".  He has a couple of duets on the new CD "Hell right" featuring Trace Adkins, & "Nobody but you" featuring his Girlfriend Gwen Stefani.  And on the MSR (Midnight Star Report), Blake has success as well with 3 number ones on the list like "Came here to forget", "Every time I hear that song", & "I'll name the dogs".  You can find them on this CD including more.  Here is the track list now.
Track list. 1. God's Country. 2. Hell right (Featuring Trace Adkins). 3. Nobody but you (Featuring Gwen Stefani). 4. Came here to forget. 5. She's got a way with words. 6. A guy with a girl. 7. Every time I hear that song. 8. I'll name the dogs. 9. I lived it. 10. Turnin' me on. 11. Jesus got a tight grip. 12. Tequila Sheila.
And that's a wrap for the track list.  And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this new CD a 4 out of 5 stars.  I am not a fan of greatest hits album but with 5 new songs including the huge hit "God's Country".  And this new album was very tough to get.  Thanks for taking the time to read this review.  See ya all next time.

Cover: The Kardashians in ruins
Tumblr media
Page 1: Fans jumped to conclusions when Taylor Swift who is known to drop hints about her personal life in her music videos posted a teaser shot for her new clip for Willow of herself in a lacy dress and floral headpiece looking very much like a blushing bride -- Taylor and boyfriend Joe Alwyn have been talking weddings and they initially discussed throwing a big bash in Joe’s native England but they’ve reconsidered since holing up in Taylor’s farm outside Nashville so now they’re just going to go ahead and get married in a small romantic ceremony and forgo the church wedding and elaborate reception since they are super private and prefer to do things out of the spotlight
Page 2: Contents, Heather Rae Young scoped out wedding dresses with Chrishell Stause by her side
Tumblr media
Page 4: Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio are heating up the Boston set of their movie Don’t Look Up where their chemistry is off the charts even though both are seriously taken: Jennifer is wed to Cooke Maroney and Leo’s been dating Camila Marrone since 2017 but Jennifer and Leo have always had a flirty rapport whenever they bumped into each other at awards shows and other industry events -- Jennifer’s husband Cooke could be annoyed with all the flirting even if the actors are keeping things professional and as for Camila she finds his connection with Jennifer pretty intimidating
Page 5: There’s plenty of tension on the set of The Morning Show now that Julianna Margulies has joined Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston on the series -- Jen wasn’t in on the decision to add Julianna to the cast and is miffed she wasn’t consulted and doesn’t understand why Reese insisted bringing Julianna on board and she’s just plain hurt that the new arrival has been getting so chummy with her BFF and Julianna and Reese are whispering behind everybody’s backs and barking orders like they own the place and they’re not even inviting Jen to lunch
* Olivia Jade Giannulli addressed her part in the $500,000 bribe that ensured her entrance into USC and sent her parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli to prison and reactions to her appearance were harsh with a typical commenter calling her smug but she thinks she did well and figures this will be good for her career as a social-media influencer
* Martha Stewart has been flourishing during lockdown and a new photo shows her looking beyond refreshed leaving some to wonder if she’s doing more than nibbling her new CBD gummies to look so good
Page 6: Kelly Clarkson’s divorce from Brandon Blackstock may be getting ugly but her ex-mother-in-law Reba McEntire is standing by her side even though it can get a little awkward at time but nothing is going to get in the way of Kelly and Reba’s relationship
* A slew of A-listers are about to be dragged into Johnny Depp’s defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard as shocking new court papers allege that Johnny had affairs with a bevvy of his costars including Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightley and Marion Cotillard and must submit all responsive communications with them -- the women are mortified and embarrassed they’re being pulled into Johnny and Amber’s tawdry split while for his part Johnny flipped out when he learned he needed to produce his communications with these women and he’s calling the tactics lowdown and disgusting
* Star Spots the Stars -- David Beckham, Chrissy Teigen, Carrie Underwood, Gal Gadot, Floyd Mayweather, Nick Offerman, Hilaria Baldwin
Page 8: Star Shots -- Audrina Patridge and her daughter Kirra out in Beverly Hills, Pete Wentz let his bleached hair down during a tennis game in L.A., Joe Jonas and wife Sophie Turner walking with their daughter in a stroller in L.A.

Page 11: Diane Keaton jokingly flirted with the men watching on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Burbank, Sir Michael Palin brought the laughs during his appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in London
Page 12: ‘Tis the Season -- Kristen Taekman left a nursery in Encino, a decked out Lil Nas X and Ellen DeGeneres opted for a safe season’s greetings by bumping elbows on the talk show
Page 13: Brooke Burke was all smiles shooting content for her fitness app in Malibu, Niecy Nash and wife Jessica Betts kicked off their first holiday season as a married couple in plaid pajamas
Page 14: Kylie Minogue performing on The Jonathan Ross show in London, Irina Shayk out and about with daughter Lea in NYC, Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld and a canine costar filmed scenes for Hawkeye in NYC
Page 15: Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn showing some major skin during a photoshoot in L.A., Antonio Banderas and journalist Maria Casado posed for photos at a presentation for their new Spanish television series Escena en Blanco y Negro in Malaga, Spain
Page 16: Beach Babes -- Chantal Jeffries and boyfriend Drew Taggart in Miami, Mark Zuckerberg showed off his gliding skills on his $12,000 eFoil electric surfboard in Hawaii
Page 17: Chris Pratt used his hoverboard as a weight after hitting the sand with his son, Julia Roberts enjoyed a solo stroll in Hawaii
Page 18: Normal or Not? Vanilla Ice headlining the drive-in Winterfest concert in West Palm Beach -- normal, Demi Moore wearing big boxing gloves -- not normal, James Franco couldn’t go without his phone during a getaway in Mexico -- not normal
Page 20: Fashion -- stars look timeless in black -- Sofia Carson, Nicole Richie
Page 21: Taylor Hill, Vanessa Kirby
Page 24: Like so many Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are putting their future on hold amid the global health pandemic and Gwen revealed that the two won’t even set a date for their nuptials in order to avoid a COVID situation that would require restrictions -- they have already nailed down a few details like the location which is Blake’s Ten Point Ranch in Oklahoma where he proposed inside a chapel Blake built for Gwen on the 1300-acre property
Page 25: Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are embroiled in a bitter custody war over their sons Noah and Bodhi and Journey -- Brian responded to Megan’s divorce filing by requesting joint custody and spousal support and he’s in a non-negotiating mood and if she tries to take his kids it’s going to get ugly really fast
* James Franco is ready to pop the question to girlfriend Isabel Pakzad and he’s been looking at rings -- dating since 2017 the two overcame a difficult time in 2018 after James was accused by multiple women of misconduct -- surviving that scandal and enjoying their time in lockdown has convinced James he’s found The One
* Kristin Cavallari and comedian Jeff Dye who were first linked in October jetted off to Mexico for a fun getaway with friends where the couple smooched and danced and enjoyed cocktails and had a wonderful time in Cabo but Kristin isn’t looking for anything serious following her divorce from Jay Cutler
Page 26: Cover Story -- the Kardashian empire crumbles -- with their show leaving the air early next year the Kardashian-Jenner crew could stand to lose it all -- ratings for Keeping Up With the Kardashians reached a new low before they pulled the plug and it’s obvious fans are losing interest and they spend money like it’s going out of fashion

Las Vegas just got a little more country with Blake Shelton’s new live music spot Ole Red Bar.
“Extra’s” Alecia Davis spoke with Blake about the grand opening and having his wife Gwen Stefani with him up onstage!
Referencing Gwen’s Coachella performance with No Doubt, Blake commented, “I was excited she did it because she's had a hell of a week.”
The Coachella performance was the first time that Gwen and No Doubt reunited in nine years!
When asked what Stefani’s support meant to him, Shelton gushed, “It’s everything. I mean, that's my wife. And she's never not been there to support me. It's just such a comforting thing to know she has my back. She's my best friend, and it's not something we just say. It's in our actions. We are as supportive of each other as we can be.”
Blake and Gwen are loving the farm life on their Oklahoma ranch.
Blake commented, “I love being on the tractor. It's like my getaway. That is my vacation or hobby. I’m no good at it, let’s be honest. It’s a disaster. I got a guy that works for me on the ranch that after I leave town, he’ll come in behind me and like fix it and get it right, like how it should be. But nobody has more fun doing it than I do.”
Blake even got Gwen to join him.
How does a city girl like Gwen becomes a country girl?
Blake answered, “Well, flowers. It’s hard to get her excited about a stock of corn growing, but if you can get her some zinnias going, now she's fired up. Now she wants to be a farmer.”
For Christmas, Blake gifted zinnia seeds to Gwen. He shared, “I got that. I got her sunflower seeds. You name it, if it can grow in Oklahoma, I probably got it for her.”
To cover his bases, Shelton also got jewelry for Stefani. He quipped, “I’m not sure which is more expensive either. I don’t know if you’ve tried some of that flower stuff... holy sh*t.”
Shelton was stoked to launch his sixth and largest Ole Red Bar right on the Strip.
He said, “It’s not something I think most artists think are in the cards, to be part of something like this outside of making music records and touring. To be able to have a venue that also represents you musically and what you do. And so, I got super lucky this all worked out.”
Blake is also fired up to hit the road again and thrill fans with all his hits on his Honky Tonk tour.
While Blake has missed touring life, he admitted, “I was a little bit nervous. I’m always nervous at the start of my tours. I don’t know why after this many years. It’s simple things I worry about like the lyrics to my song or are people gonna come to the shows? Literally, those are the two things that I stress about.”
As for the possibility of returning to “The Voice,” Blake revealed, “I don’t plan on ever, like working at ‘The Voice’ again. I can’t say I wouldn’t come by for, like, a surprise appearance. I mean, that show is the greatest and most important thing that I’ve ever been a part of in my career. It changed my life, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”
Though he’s not sitting in the famous red chairs anymore, Shelton is still watching the show!
He commented, “I do watch it a little bit, especially when Gwen’s on there. She’s still in and out, and she’s so good at it. She loves the show. She always said to me, ‘How can you want to step away? It’s so fun.’ I’ve done it 23 seasons without missing a single season. I know what you feel like, Pat Sajak, because that’s kinda how I felt being on ‘The Voice.’ If you’re on back-to-back seasons, there’s really no time for any other thing. I guess if you didn’t want to have a family and a life, you could do it that much, but something has to give, and for me, I was to the point where it was time for ‘The Voice’ to be the thing that has to give this time. So, I’m just at that stage in my life.”

Billboard 200 Chart 12/22/2019 by Keith Caulfield
At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, country superstar Blake Shelton collects his 12th top 10 album, as Fully Loaded: God’s Country enters with 96,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, 83,000 were in album sales.
Fully Loaded also marks the highest-charting greatest hits album on the Billboard 200 since October of 2017, when Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits spent two weeks at No. 2 in the wake of Petty’s death on Oct. 2 of that year.

"On his way to one of the best weeks for an album this year, the former One Direction member Harry Styles did it the old-fashioned way and the of-the-moment way.
“Fine Line,” Styles’s second LP as a solo performer, topped the latest Billboard chart with the equivalent of 478,000 in sales, according to Nielsen Music — the third-biggest total for an album in 2019 — using every tactic in the industry playbook. Though it lacked a blockbuster hit single ahead of its release, “Fine Line” sold 393,000 copies as a full album, aided by the now-common bundles that pair a copy of the album with concert tickets and merchandise. It also had 109 million streams, the largest total of the week and the third-best debut this year.
But there was a throwback element as well: “Fine Line” sold 28,000 copies on vinyl, the fourth-best week for that format since Nielsen Music started tallying numbers in 1991, behind only Jack White’s “Lazaretto,” Pearl Jam’s “Vitalogy” and Adele’s “25.”
The New York Times critic Jon Pareles called Styles “a promising work in progress,” noting that the singer had “expanded his retro-rock timeline, while still working with the core brain trust from his first album.” Commercially, Styles managed to more than double the first-week total for his solo debut, a self-titled release from 2017, which started with 230,000 equivalent units. Only Taylor Swift’s “Lover” (869,000) and Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” (489,000) had better opening weeks this year.
Behind Styles, Blake Shelton’s greatest-hits collection “Fully Loaded: God’s Country” was No. 2, with 96,000 units, lifted by another ticket bundle; “Please Excuse Me for Being Anti-Social” by Roddy Ricch, last week’s chart-topper, fell to No. 3 with 81,000 units; “Hollywood’s Bleeding” by Post Malone was No. 4 with 63,000 units; and the soundtrack to “Frozen II” was No. 5 with 60,000 units, ahead of two Christmas albums, “Christmas” by Michael Bublé and “The Best of Pentatonix Christmas” by Pentatonix."
