How we fill our cups....

OK, romance is a big part of the cups suit in tarot, I am not here to deny that. However, we do have other relationships in life giving us that joy to make life worth living. At least, we should. I have noticed increasingly the problem amongst myself and others, we will have our relationship and for whatever reason, maybe our partner is jealous, or maybe we just can't get enough of them and forget about our friends, our partner might be the only person we are really socializing with.

I value my friends; I take pride in looking after them. If distance is an obstacle, I do my best to reach out online and even will send the occasional snail mail. Every time I find myself single, I say the same thing.... "Being single is fun! I might as well just be single and take the effort I would put into a relationship and put it into my friends because they are the ones that are there in the end!"

Somehow, I've managed to find myself married again. My husband can be quite jealous but we are working through differences in philosophy.

I guess my point here is this: please remember to nurture all of your relationships, not just your romantic partner. Friends are very important. You need to be a friend to have a friend. If you want friends, act like a friend. They aren't just going to be appointed to you. Get out there and socialize!!

I love it when people ask for an answer to the problems they’re having, proceed not to read the replies to their questions (guess you don’t got dexterity and patience to read either), and also proclaim that they know what the answer is, but since it isn’t what they want to hear they’re not gonna even try to do it (or seek someone to help them). Then…continue to bitch and moan about the problem they’re having.

We Moved

My husband and I moved from his dad's apartment in Aurora, CO to our own place on Colfax Ave in Denver, CO. We are renting a room at a motor lodge by the week and I couldn't be happier. I personally like living in a hotel. It fits the travel lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with leaving home. Do what is best for you. The universe will thank you.

5/3/24: Riad Courtyard

Here's my view this late morning, hanging by the "pool" while Mari and Claude trek back to the airport again, again. One or two more snafu* from last couple days: First, because of the initial airport snafus and barely making it in time for boarding our flight in Madrid, our luggage did not make it all way through from France to Morocco. We should have realized as much when we checked in at Marseille airport and the "system" was down, so agent manually (on piece of paper) checked our bags from Marseille - Madrid - Morocco. Then we arrived at gate last minute, lost our assigned seats and therefore our bags. I add this info only for you airport enthusiasts who probably have opinions on these things...

Needless to say, we have been in Morocco for 2 days without any clothes or toiletries etc. Except for Mari, who was traveling very light with all of her things in a pack in her back. Except for me, who packed my clothes for the Morocco part of the trip, just because. Although, it is a thing for me...on every trip, pretty much, to have the question in the back of my mind, "and what if our bags get lost...?" Paranoia or proper prior planning...? I always keep at least one or two Essential essentials in my carry on, whatever I decide them to be. Generally, it's my million-dollar retainer that prevents me from grinding my teeth down any more than they already are, or maybe the tiny souvenir gifty thing for Mari, just because I would be sad not to have that. Whatever you decide, no judgment. #SarasTravelTips

So, we've been fine, though Claude's been wearing the same outfit since we got here. But when we got the word that our bags flew in on last night's flight from Madrid, Claude got so excited he ran off to the airport with Mari to retrieve the luggage, via hired cab and the crazy death traffic, only to get to the airport without his passport...wah wah waaaaah...

Needless to say, Claude and his faithful companion Mari (who went along again to make this thing happen) set off again with Achmed, into the traffic abyss, and I am left here in my peaceful courtyard to relax and contemplate life and travel, and bloggity blog blog blog…

*Regarding Snafu: Claude couldn't be reached for comment, because the steam coming out of his ears was creating a dark fog. 😤😭😤🤬😤 A retinal scan might help.

Intro

Greetings!

I'm Nicole and I consider myself a music and jazz enthusiast. In a conscious effort to gain momentum and maintain enthusiasm, I am about to embark on an intensive journey through The Penguin Guide to Jazz 1001 Albums.

The way I will do it is to randomly select albums to listen to from cover to cover in an effort to further my education and appreciation of jazz. To keep track of it all, I'll post each album and a few notes on this here bloggity blog. Starting with 1001 and making my way down to number 1. This might seem convoluted and confusing to you as the numerical order of the albums will ultimately have no meaning other than my own personal mental place-holder. And that's okay because I'm embarking on this journey, not you.
