Precision Pro NX7 Pro
Golf is famously known as a rich men’s sport. The cost of golf can go way beyond the overall cost of other sports. That includes the cost of golf gear as well. One of the most helpful golf gear is a rangefinder. They assist you in measuring the distance between you and the hole. Rangefinders can get crazy expensive.

For the Kiss Prompts! 75. Jaime and Samir, please?
(yes i’m still doing these, lol)
75. Kisses Meant To Distract The Other Person From Whatever They Were Intently Doing
Samir Amari really said “I am a bastardsexual. I am attracted to bastards and bastards only.”
-----
Samir stood at a hard-light worktable in the open air on the roof of the watchpoint. The parts of the hard-light rifle, or rather, the intangible grids forming their shapes, hovered in space around him as he plucked the scope piece out of the air and let it solidify in his hand before peering through it. He brought it away from his eye and flicked his fingers over it, shifting the design of the crosshairs from a simple rangefinder alignment to an SVD reticle, holding it to his eye again for a few seconds. He scanned the bodies moving about the watchpoint below through the scope, mentally calculating the range ballistics on Bastion as it shambled along on a perimeter check, Ganymede flittering around it. Account for wind. Account for movement. Trying to find the bridge between the capabilities of hard light and his grandmother’s lessons on sniping was an all-consuming puzzle. He had fiddled around with rounds with a delayed materialization coming out of the barrel-unimpeded by air molecules or friction--but he could never get them to properly solidify before they hit their target--and why the hell shouldn’t they? It was light--it wasn’t exactly as if he could make the bullet just materialize inside the person... or could he? No, that was sick. Then again...
“Y’know, it would probably freak people out... knowing you’re mentally sniping them.”
Samir jolted with surprise and swung his head around to see Jaime standing a few feet behind him, hands pocketed in cuffed cargo pants and an unsold Lúcio tour merch tee hanging loosely on his shoulders.
“I’m not mentally sniping them,” muttered Samir, looking back through the hard-light scope, “Just... most targets tend to be moving so I’m...focusing... on...movers.”
“To mentally snipe them,” said Jaime.
“Well they aren’t them in the sniping scenario!” snapped Samir.
Jaime tilted his head with an insufferable grin and Samir’s brow furrowed.
“...which sounds a little sociopathic,” muttered Samir.
“A little,” said Jaime with a shrug.
“I didn’t even put the rifle together,” said Samir, gesturing at the other parts hovering frozen in the air.
“You know, I always wondered about that,” said Jaime, “If it’s all hard-light, why do you have to make all the little parts? Couldn’t you just like... tell the light to... make it go boom or something?”
One corner of Samir’s mouth pulled up in confusion.
“Is that... not how hard-light works?” Jaime said, his face scrunching up.
“I mean... in theory?” Samir shrugged, “But like... Grandma had me take apart and put together a rifle like... a million times before she ever let me shoot it. I guess I just... think of it as the components,” as he spoke, he gestured with his arm and the grid-frames of the rest of the rifle solidified and clicked together, piece by piece in the air, “And if it gets damaged, it’s easier to fix it component by component rather than hope my hard-light projector has enough charge to make a whole new one.” Samir reached a hand forward and grabbed the newly formed pristine white rifle, checking it over to make sure all the pieces had come together just so.
“Ashe had me do something like that,” said Jaime with a shrug, “Not that many times though, just to like... clean it if it felt off or something.”
“Yeah Grandma and Mom were definitely harder to convince about it,” said Samir, materializing a glowing blue shoulder strap for the newly formed rifle and slinging it over his shoulder, “Not all of us can run off to a motorcycle gang if we get elbowed away from the adults’ table.”
“I didn’t run off, I was sent off, and I just have a penchant for meeting the right people,” said Jaime, putting one hand on his hip, “And... you missed me.”
“I didn’t miss being snuck up on,” huffed Samir with an eye roll.
“I can’t help it. I’m a ninja,” said Jaime, striking a bastardized approximation of a crane kick pose.
“You got only a few months of training compared to Rei,” said Samir, flatly as Jaime flailed back down to two feet.
“But Rei didn’t get 5 years of experience of breaking out of a Vishkar orphanage,” said Jaime, pointing, “And that’s what makes me the wildcard.”
Samir gave a short snort through his nostrils. “You are not the wildcard.”
“I’m definitely the wildcard,” said Jaime, sidling up next to him, “Who else would be the wildcard?”
“Rajeev.”
“Wrong, Rajeev’s the muscle. You’re the brains. Marti’s the leader. Rei’s the... heart? Yeah Rei’s the heart. And Aedan’s the token spooky guy who used to be evil. Which makes me the wildcard.”
“...what... what team template are you working off of?” Samir’s brow crinkled.
Jaime shrugged and made an ‘I dunno’ sound and Samir scoffed before slinging the rifle off of his shoulder, pointing it out over the sea cliffs of Gibraltar, and looking down its scope.
“...soooo you figure out which one works better?” said Jaime. Samir tried to ignore how close his voice was to his ear. Jaime ran warm, Samir was aware of that much.
“Maybe I would have if I didn’t have someone talking my ear off,” said Samir, a wry grin tugging at one corner of his mouth.
“Tell me to go, then,” said Jaime.
Samir didn’t respond to that, just kept scanning the horizon, lazily trailing his crosshairs after the freighters that glided over the glittering sea.
“Thought so,” Jaime’s voice was somehow home and infuriating all at once.
Samir heard Jaime’s footsteps, light, far more deft than his personality indicated, repositioning Jaime behind him. Samir felt a gentle kiss at the back of his neck and his shoulders bunched up before he looked sharply over his shoulder at Jaime.
“Wildcard,” said Jaime.
“...Wildcard,” Samir conceded.

Shot Scope Debuts High-Demand “Lay Up Points” Feature for Award-Winning V3 GPS Smart Golf Watches
Golfers Now Afforded Lay-Up Points that Offer Distances from the Center of the fairway at 100, 150 and 200 Yards to the Middle of the Green; Latest feature from Shot Scope, Provided FREE to Customers, adds Knowledge to Lay Up with Confidence on Long Holes or Understand What to Hit Off the Tee on Shorter Par 4s.
Shot Scope (www.shotscope.com), a leading international manufacturer of GPS-based game tracking and distance measuring smart watches, as well as laser rangefinders, today introduced Lay-Up Points, a feature for the award-winning V3 watch that offers distances from the center of the fairway at 100, 150 and 200 yards to the middle of the green. The newest enhancement from Shot Scope, which is offered at no additional cost to customers, gives golfers the knowledge to lay up with confidence on long holes or understand what to hit off the tee on shorter par 4s.
Today, Shot Scope remains the only Company to offer real-time on-course performance tracking capabilities, backed by proprietary AI-technology, that does not require a third-party device or smart watch. The new feature, which can be measured in yards or meters, is available through a firmware update that also improves speed to download course updates.
The new Lay-Up Points further add to an impressive suite of features available to users of the V3 GPS Smart Watch that were recently introduced for free to thousands of golfing customers.
“Adding Lay-Up Points to the V3 GPS smart watch, that is offered at an industry-leading $219 price, further innovates a product that is backed by artificial intelligence and makes real-time swing performance tracking and distance measuring easier, faster and more accurate than ever before,” said David Hunter, CEO, Shot Scope. In the spring we added a suite of new advanced technology features at no additional cost to our golfers, and now Lay-Up Points further enhances the distance measuring prowess of the V3.”
Hunter adds, “Artificial Intelligence in a smart golf watch is a game-changer as the multi-function V3 provides golfers with real-time game tracking data like never before. Shot Scope technology has been used by tens of thousands of golfers worldwide recording over 100 million shots, and our data shows that amateur golfers improve by three strokes thanks to the unique fusion of accurate distance information and automatic performance tracking technology.”
V3’s patented Power-Sense AI strap technology captures data on every shot, delivering golfers feedback to better understand their game and reach optimal performance.  The V3’s Power-Sense AI strap technology works automatically in the background to continuously scan the golfer’s swing settings to optimize performance tracking. The technology creates an ever-increasing volume and accuracy of data collected from the golfer during play, leading to more insights and statistics that help the player understand their game better, improve on-course strategy and shoot lower scores. The more rounds the golfer plays with V3 the smarter the AI technology becomes, eventually producing highly refined settings that are personal to that individual.
Complementing the performance tracking capabilities, the V3 is the game’s most accurate lightweight, high speed golf watch, backed by proprietary dual GPS antennas that provide unmatched connectivity and synching, compared with competitive products, for precise distance measuring and pinpoint accuracy on 36,000 pre-loaded courses worldwide.
In addition to the new Lay-Ups feature, recent enhancements to the Shot Scope V3 Smart Golf Watch include:
Last Shot Distance: provides a calculation from the previous shot location, so a golfer can understand on course how far a drive traveled.
Enhanced GPS Acquisition: the watch remembers the satellite positions from the previous round, this memory helps GPS acquisition if used again within 7 days, reducing GPS lock time from 2 minutes to 20 seconds.
Pause: this feature is incredibly useful for a golfer who wants to practice around the green or hit a second shot. Golfers can quickly click pause performance tracking and either hit shots or have lunch between the nines.
Tag Recognition: adds a little box to the screen (can be turned off) which shows the previous shot recorded on the watch, makes sure that the golfer knows the watch automatically recognizes the tag in the club.
Lock Screen: the lock means that the watch will not skip holes if there is an erroneous button press, the golfer can have confidence that they will always be on the right hole.
Double Greens: feature brought in to help expansion into the Far East markets where numerous courses have multiple greens. Feature also resolves 9-hole courses with two sets of greens. This is a popular feature with any user affected by this as they are currently not catered for this innovatively by any other GPS company.
Powering V3’s shot tracking function are 16 lightweight plug-n-play club RFID tags that are embedded with smart GPS chips that easily screw into the butt-end of every club. Unlike other golf performance trackers, V3’s Power-Sense AI strap technology delivers instant syncing, while enabling club recognition with no pairing, phone or tagging required. The tags ‘communicate with the watch’ and identify what club was hit and its location on the course.
Utilizing this shot tracking technology, golfers can sync their V3 device with Bluetooth and download the free app for mobile use on iOS and Android. An interactive dashboard, which provides an aerial view of the course for a bird’s-eye view, enables the watch to capture and analyze over 100 tour level statistics on club distances and tee shots for measurable game improvement, while Shot Scope’s PinCollect™ technology records putt and pin location, capturing and analyzing approaches, short game and putting statistics.
As a distance measuring device, the V3 utilizes not 1, but 2 GPS antennas. This ensures V3 provides industry leading GPS accuracy on the golf course. The V3 library, which is mapped in-house at Shot Scope, features over 36,000 courses worldwide that are accessible with no subscriptions or interruptions, and free upgrades. The easy-to-navigate, daylight readable color screen, which also switches to watch mode (date and time) for everyday use, offers highly accurate dynamic distances in large fonts, in either yards or meters, to the front, middle and back of the green, plus every bunker and water hazard on the course, regardless of angle of approach for enhanced course management.
Constructed with the highest-grade smart GPS chip technology on the commercial market, including a 10-hour battery life, the V3 is a complete game management system built into a smart golf watch. It offers instant, real-time information for golfers to play their next shot with confidence, as well as the ability to monitor and pinpoint strengths and weaknesses through detailed performance data.
The V3 features three different play modes - GPS, GPS+Track and Pro, to support preferences for every golfer. The GPS mode provides distances anywhere on the course, while the GPS+Track mode provides distances and automatic performance tracking during a round. The Pro mode is designed for tournament use when GPS is not allowed and tracks only performance data.
The Shot Scope V3 Smart Golf Watch, which comes in four stylish watch strap options, including black, blue, red, and gray, has a suggested retail of $219 and can be purchased at Dicks Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstores, golf specialty stores or online at www.shotscope.com.  Keep up to date with all of the Shot Scope news on social media:

GolfBuddy Voice 2 Golf GPS Reviews and Instruction
Golf Buddy Voice 2 golf GPS/Rangefinder stands a world apart from all competition in their category. It takes care of the little issues that were annoying about the original Voice and promises an even better interface. This is an ultra-portable device with just the basic distances. But, what's the difference between golf buddy voice and voice 2?  The Voice feature gets a few more customization options in Voice 2. And it’s one of the rare Voice golf GPS devices that have a screen back up. Overall it’s an excellent entry-level device that offers hands-free operation. We decided to take a closer look at it.
The GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS is an interesting device since it packs a bunch of features in such a small package. We delved into both to understand the value it brings for the money.
PROS
Ultra-compact
Male/Female voice distances in 8 languages
Backup screen with distances
Dynamic Green View
Excellent course coverage
Better battery life
CONS
No hazard distances
Body and Wristband
The body of GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS is almost square. The face is 1.76” x 1.78”. It’s only 0.49” deep. Basically, it’s more compact than Bushnell Neo Ghost and Phantom. At 1.02 ounces with the battery in, it’s barely noticeable on the visor or golf buddy voice 2 belt clip. The corners of the body are rounded. The body has a smooth finish overall. The backside has a permanently-attached clip that enables it to be attached to the hat or the belt.
You also find the retractable clip or universal clip cart mount for golf buddy voice 2 available on market.
Display
Unlike most voice golf GPS, the Voice 2 has a 1” long display. But the bottom half is taken up by the power button. The screen is a monochrome LCD. It is backlit so you can easily view it in any light. It displays all the information that’s spoken out by the voice feature.
Controls
There are five buttons on the body of GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS. There are two buttons each on each side. Two are volume up/down buttons, one activate Voice and another measure shot distance. The buttons are built for tactile comfort. You can operate them in the blind.
Accessories, Colors...
This Voice 2 golf GPS is available in black, white/blue and white/grey color combinations. It is splashproof so it can take some rain before you find cover. A USB charging cable and its adapter are part of the package.
How do I update my GolfBuddy Voice 2?
The GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS can be used right out of the box if it has charge. But eventually, you might have to update the course database to get the latest course maps. For this, you must download the GolfBuddy Golf Buddy Pro Course Manager to your Windows PC. You have to register your device and create a new login if you don’t already have one. The update tool is available on the GolfBuddy website.
Once updated, you can switch it on near the course, and it will automatically recognize the course from its database and arrive at the correct hole. The operation is pretty much intuitive.
Distances
The GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS shows/speaks distances to the front, center, and back of the greens. You can select whether you want the golf buddy voice meters to yards. In the original Voice, the screen only displayed the distance to the center. You had to toggle through the distances one by one by pressing the Menu button. Now all the distances are displayed on the screen, the distance to the center of the greens being in a larger font. The hole number and battery information are also displayed above this. Unfortunately, the Voice 2 doesn’t add hazard distances to the yardages it can tell.
Golf Buddy Voice 2 Instruction
- Voice Feature
The Voice feature announces the distance to the greens every time you tee up. You can change the volume of the Voice 2. You can even completely Mute it and solely depend on the distance readings on the screen. One upgrade from the original Voice is that you can select between a Male and a Female voice for speaking out the distances. You can select from 8 different languages and the database can be expanded to 11 languages max.
- Dynamic Green View
In this View, you can see an approximate representation of the green based on your approach. This screen displays the par information, hole number, satellite signal and identifies the greens as left or right on holes with multiple greens.
- Shot Distance
The Voice 2 golf GPS allows you to measure the shot distance with a single button press. You can note down this distance and take an average for each club over multiple shots. This gives you the club distance which helps you further in club selection.
- Automatic functions
As we mentioned earlier, this GolfBuddy golf GPS automatically recognizes the courses near you when turned on. It also advances through the holes automatically. This way, with the voice feature, switched on the operation is pretty much hands-free. For the first-time buyers though, we recommend Voice2 over the original Voice, one of our best golf GPS.
- Course Coverage of Golf Buddy Voice 2
The GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS comes preloaded with a 35,000+ course maps worldwide. You are likely to find your local courses over here.
- Golf Buddy Voice 2 Battery
The Voice 2 claims a battery life of 14 hours. In our tests, it lasted at least through 3 rounds. In contrast, the original Voice averaged 9 hours only when we used it.
- Accuracy
This golf GPS proved to be highly accurate and consistent in our tests. We were always 1 yard within the readings from the laser rangefinder.
- Miscellaneous
It has a flip-screen feature which flips the screen right side up when clipped on to the belt or the visor.
Conclusion
The GolfBuddy Voice 2 golf GPS addresses the biggest complaint we had with the original Voice: toggling to get front and back distances to the greens. While we appreciate the upgrade, we also wanted the hazard distances to feature just as badly. While Voice2 is great value for money, it might not be worth an upgrade for the Voice-user.

Blue Tees Rangefinder
A rangefinder is a must-have for most golfers, both newbies, and experts. Rangefinders have risen in popularity in recent years due to their ability to provide players with precise flag accuracy. Golfers no longer need to look for sprinkler heads, consult the coursebook, or ask a playing companion for yardage since a rangefinder zaps the flag or hazard in seconds to provide clear and coherent data.

An Introduction to the Basics of Golf for Beginners
New Post has been published on https://www.familygolfoakville.com/basics-of-golf-for-beginners/
An Introduction to the Basics of Golf for Beginners
Golf is a game that can be played by anyone, male or female and from an early age to late into retirement, but beginners need to learn the basics. It is a game that has the added benefits of being played in the open air at a leisurely pace which helps towards a healthy lifestyle, as well as bringing benefits of social interaction.
The popularity of golf in recent years has given birth to an abundance of new courses, a lot designed for the beginner or novice player. The days of thinking of golf as a sport for the privileged few are now long gone, however, it can be a little daunting to start with understanding some of the rules, terminology, and etiquette.
This article will hopefully get you started on being confident enough to give it a try or give you an insight into the game so you don’t feel completely out of your depth. As you read through to the end you will see colored links that take you to a particular topic which is explained in more depth. Should you have any further unanswered questions, no matter how trivial please feel free to email me in the comments section at the end of this post.
Golf Basics for Beginners
Golf can be an expensive pastime when you look around at all the equipment that is available. Lots of gleaming golf clubs from a variety of manufacturers all professing to be the best for your game and promising you will play like a top pro within weeks. It is advisable when you first start not to get sidetracked into buying a new set of clubs but start off with a half set of reasonable pre-used. Tips here on best golf balls for beginners.
Make a point of practicing the golf swing. Feel the rotation of your shoulders while keeping your balance. Don’t try to hit the ball, let the club and the golf swing do the work. Gradually your confidence will grow as you learn how far each club sends the ball, and when you know you are hooked on the game then is the time to consider a new set of clubs. Click this link to find out more about driving a golf ball.
Basic rules and Etiquette
One fundamental thing that you should know as a beginner is the basic etiquettes that are practiced by all golfers. The main etiquette is sticking to the rules even if you are the only individual aware of the infraction. Different from other games, there is no referee on the golf course and so individuals should apply the rules by themselves.
Don’t try to learn every rule to start with, as the rulebook is very thick covering every eventuality, and may deter you from playing. Here is a link for a quick guide to golf rules. Get used to the basic everyday rules to start you off. The more technical ones can be learned as you become more proficient. More here on golf terminology.
Mostly golf etiquette is basic common sense and good manners. Talking or moving around when another golfer is taking their shot or moving off before all players have driven. If you use a golf trolley, these should not be pulled onto the tee or green as the wheels may compact the surface. Being ready to play when it is your turn, or calling the group behind through if you feel your group is holding up play. These are all examples of golf etiquette.
Golf Terminology
As with any sport, golf has its own terminology concerning the various playing formats, scoring and quirky names for good and bad shots. Players can compete in a competition as a single or as a team with another player. Groups can tee off as a two, three or a maximum of four. A group of four players will obviously take longer than a two ball, so it is a courtesy to call faster players through. The exception to this is a single player who has no standing on the course, but if you feel pressure it is best to let them go so you feel comfortable. More here on Golf scoring.
The principal aim in scoring in golf is to be the player who has taken the least amount of shots. This is the basic format in stroke play which is used by professionals in all the major and ranking tournaments. Most new golfers are allocated a handicap by submitting three cards. Generally, the maximum for a male is twenty-eight and a female thirty-six. This handicap is adjusted as the player improves, and allows players of differing abilities to compete.
A scoring format that has become very popular over recent years is Stableford scoring, invented by a doctor of the same name that formulates on a points system. Unlike stroke play points can be accumulated from each hole, still adjusting for handicap, but it is the player with the highest score that wins. Explaining how stableford works.
Whichever scoring format is used everything is based above or below the par for the hole. A Birdie is good as it is one under par. An Eagle is a terminology for two under par and an Albatross or double Eagle which is very rare indeed is three under par. The opposite of this is termed a Bogey for one over par or a double or triple Bogey for two or three over. More here on defining what a bogey in golf is.
Course layout
A standard golf course is made up of eighteen holes, but due in part to the time it takes to play there have been more and more nine-hole venues opening. Each hole is allocated a par depending on the length and the difficulty. In addition to this and can be seen on the scorecard each hole has a stroke index which signifies difficulty. A stroke index of one indicates the most difficult hole ranging through to eighteen which is considered the easiest.
A par three is the shortest and a scratch player, or a player with no handicap adjustment is expected to complete the hole in three strokes. Similarly, a par four completed in four shots and par five in five strokes. The tees are divided to red at the front for ladies, yellow as the tee of the day and white are the medal tees at the back. This layout can vary between some courses, which have introduced a blue tee for juniors & seniors which is in front of the red tees.
Golf Driving Range
A golf driving range or practice area is the first place to experiment with building a golf swing that suits your particular stature. A common misconception is that we should all try to develop a standard swing like the top professionals. This is great if you have the athletic physique and inbuilt talent, but most of us have not. So it is more important for a beginner to practice a simple swing that works automatically without thinking.
A golf swing needs to be ingrained in the psyche so that it can be performed naturally for every shot without clouding the brain. Worrying about the grip, the stance, and how far you are turning your body while performing the swing will just lead to mis-hits. The aim is to get the swing to perform without thinking similar to as you are when driving a car. Read this article to find out more about using a simple golf swing.
How to choose the correct club for a shot
Once you have perfected a golf swing that suits you and you feel comfortable with, you will then be able to differentiate between the clubs and practice increasing the distance and accuracy. A set of clubs is made up of Woods and Irons. The woods are the driving tools for hitting long-distance shots, the irons have individual loft degree faces which allow you, after time, to establish which club depending on the distance from the green. The putter is used when reaching the green. More tips here on rangefinders to establish distance.
Conclusion
Golf is one of those sports that is never really mastered. Even by the top tour professionals who can win a major tournament but then for some unexplained reason quickly drop down the rankings to obscurity. A lot of it boils down to mind control. So if you take your time and practice getting a comfortable golf swing, gradually your confidence will grow. Hopefully, you will make new friends and playing partners which will lead to a healthy lifestyle with this wonderful sport.

In 2013 Tom Olsavsky joined Cobra Puma Golf as Vice President of Research and Development after a long stint with TaylorMade Golf as Senior Director of Product Creation. Industry observers expected this well respected designer would make his mark on the entire Cobra product line and he has.
Last year we told you we liked the KING F6 Baffler with the iconic rails on the sole and the KING LTD driver with the center of gravity on the neutral axis of the clubhead plus a “Spaceport” in the sole to help create lots of forgiveness. In fact, Olsavskly’s team did such a good job, the KING LTD quickly took the number one slot in my bag.
We also commented on the KING F6 driver which had a font-to-back weighting system and in revamping the F6 for this season the result is the KING F7 (460cc $350) and the slightly smaller profile KING F7+ (452cc $400). Both have three weights (1-12 gram and 2-2 gram) in the sole. One is positioned in the front just behind the face, the second towards the heel and the last in the very rear of the head. By switching the weights around gives in essence three much different drivers.
Trying out the various weight positons in the KING F7+ did produce noticeable changes in trajectory and curvature bias. Our 10 rounds of testing included one with the 12-gram weight in the heel and two with it in the rear position. Since my tendency is a hook (truth be told it deteriorates often to a pull hook) having the heavier weight in the heel didn’t produce a lot of fairways and with it in the rear position trajectory was too high.
Settling on the heavier weight in the front position, which obviously was correct for my swing, produced and mid-trajectory basically straight shot and allowed for a fade for those holes requiring a dogleg tee shot.
The stock Fujikura PRO XLR8 shaft is slightly stiffer in the tip and butt and gives lots of mid-point kick for mid-launch complimenting the 12-gram weight being in the front position.
The crown is carbon fiber which, being 20% lighter than titanium, weight could be shifted lower and deeper in the head making the KING F7+ above average in forgiveness.
Then there’s what they are calling COBRA CONNECT, a partnership with Arccos to track every drive. The Arccos sensor is preinstalled in the butt end of the grip so once it’s paired with the free smartphone app not only drive data is recorded but there’s a GPS rangefinder. It works, is automatic to use and the data may be reviewed after the round including distance and the number of fairways hit. They tell me the sensor battery is good for at least two years.
Distance however, is the thing everyone wants to know about and the KING F7+ is as long as the KING LTD I was carrying and with the same dead-solid sound. The trajectory (with the 12-gram weight in the front positon) is mid-launch and the lack of ballooning in the wind indicates low ball spin even on slight mishits.
Finally, the blue KING F7+ has a really great look at address. The shape is pleasing and the blue—with red and white accents on the sole--stands out in a world of mostly black clubheads.
The Cobra KING F7+ also has what is sometimes called Tour validation. Fan favorite Rickie Fowler won the Honda Classic with the F7+ and it’s played by Lexi Thompson, Jonas Blixt, Jesper Parnevik and World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman. While it’s tough to make a comparison between their swings and that of the average golfer plus of course they are paid by Cobra, it is a vote of confidence since they could be using any of the other Cobra models.
Negatives: the F7+ is billed as being for better players and comes with an adjustable hosel from 8 to 11 degrees so if you need help with trajectory the F7, which adjusts from 9 to 12 degrees (and with the 12-gram weight in the rear), would be a better choice.
Recommendation: Get on a launch monitor and test (with the help of a PGA Professional) the KING F7+ against any of the other new drivers and I think you will find it will hold its own in terms of feel, accuracy, forgiveness and distance. The $400 price is at the low end of the range for Tour level drivers and with comparable features making it attractive for a lot of budgets.
