04 - sopping wet

The day had been quiet an uneventful, as often when the little boar creature wasn't around. Call it a reprieve, or call it boring – either way, Inosuke did not show his snout until the late hours of the evening.

The sun had shone mercilessly all day long, summer overstaying its welcome. When the boar finally dragged himself back to the twins' house, his state had nothing to do with the weather.

His ears comically flopped on top of his cranium, his hide completely drenched, as was the rest of his frame. He looked utterly miserable.

"... I fell in the stupid lake. I was standing on the rocks catching some fish, when a stupid bird tried to steal my catch. I wanted to punch it away, but I slipped."

He did not mention the part where he almost drowned. The upstream currents of his mountain were rarely deep enough that he was entirely immerged.

"I still got us this." He grumbled, lifting three large fish for the other to see. It would last them a few days, at least.

A violent sneeze rattled his frame, his head snapping forward in a powerful motion. Droplets of water splattered his surroundings, and most notably to boy who stood before him.

Oh well. It would dry up eventually.

i know theyre very dangerous but god id love to see a wild boar irl someday. from a safe and mutually respectful distance while in a stronghold such as a building or vehicle of some kind. i dream of looking at big pigs with my binoculars.

Here's my new coffee mug from the potters' market! (and matching salad bowl) (and bonus hen, and tablecloth boarlet—busy photo, sorry). The woman I bought it from was really sweet, I asked her if the flowers would be ok in the dishwasher and she said earnestly "they won't fade in the dishwasher but supposing they do you come back next year and I'll give you a mug with twice as many flowers." It's nice to have a guarantee.

Also I got the little bird cup I didn't buy last year because I didn't need a bird cup... A whole year later I still longed for it so it's not an impulse buy anymore and it's allowed. Pandolf was politely asked to go away so his big bear head wouldn't distract from the main subject of the photo and he politely declined.

The cup is just big enough for a little snack or a bunch of apéritif biscuits, it's perfect. It's not the same colour as the bird cup I saw last year though, and I think last year's cup was even prettier (maybe I'm idealising the past.) It's dangerous to allow oneself impulse buys at the potters' market but still—always purchase the bird cup at once.

What happens when the AOT characters go camping?

AOT characters Camping?

Connie and Sasha: they came up with this idea and asked everyone else if they wanted to camp together in the woods. What could possibly go wrong, am I right? Sasha's very good at hunting, so the two of them are in charge of food supply. But somehow it feels like no matter how much they hunt, the food just doesn't pile up.

Jean: he's leading everyone, instructing on how to set up tents and start a fire. Although he's not really a big fan of sleeping in nature. Something about not being able to properly groom every day, having to shower in the river in front of everyone else and not being able to dress himself in front of a mirror makes him feel self conscious. Not that anyone minds the view...

Armin and Hange: with their extended knowledge of plants and nature, they are a great asset to the team! They can easily identify edible plants, so that's their main task. They also are the only ones that know how to use a compass! Too bad Hange's exaggerated enthusiasm somehow led to the two of them being chased up a tree by a bear... so now they are completely lost.

Annie: she somehow ended up having to fight a bear, which proves to be harder than initially expected. Thankfully, Mikasa showed up just in time for the two of them to kick this bear straight back into hibernation.

Eren and Reiner: tasked with finding Armin and Hange. They've been gone for way too long. They end up running into a little heard of boarlets and Reiner falls in love with them, until the mother appears and they decide to RUN. Reiner trips and falls into a pit of nettles and Eren ends up having to carry him back to camp, all red and crying. Poor Reiner.

Levi and Pieck: sitting by the campfire, drinking tea. It's so peaceful and quiet. Pieck somehow manages to get Levi to talk about his love life, which no one else knows anything about. Pieck will hold this secret dear to her for the rest of her life... HA

Zeke and Yelena: they initially wanted to crash this camp and dress up in frightening suits to scare everyone away... but they somehow ended up making out in their camouflaged tent. Onyankopon is sadly also in this tent... yikes.

You throw it like any other grenade except that the boarlet lands completely unharmed and an average grenade delay time after that a mother boar spawns nearby and kicks the shit out of everyone near the baby

tl;dr: Chernobyl's not to blame. The boar eat truffles whose root(?) systems reach down to layers of soil containing cesium-137 fallout from 1950s-60s nuclear weapons tests. Its half-life is 30 years, so it’s only ¼ as potent as it was, but I guess that’s enough. Sadly, the boar do not glow in the dark.

(Cesium is one of my favorite elements, in a macabre way. My other favorite is iridium, just in case you’re looking for gift ideas.)

Inosuke felt like he had been tricked. He had followed the trail of delicious food all the way through, gobbling every piece of fruit and rice cracker that was set his way... only for a pair of arms to snatch him whole, and dump him into a bucket of water.

The boarlet child let out a cry of indignation, and another when his boar hide was forcibly removed. The actual hair underneath was matted with dirt and dust, yet it looked oddly shiny. It would certainly feel rather silky, once it was ridden of its grime.

The child let his anger show with plenty of thrashing and whining, as the poor lady tried her best to pour more warm water over his head. It wasn't until her fingers dug into his scalp that the young one calmed down.

He eventually went still, a grumpy pout lingering on his traits. He couldn't remember ever touching water so warm. He blinked at the little bubbles that popped at the surface of the water, rising into the air as the lady rubbed soap into his hair. It was such a funny matter to the touch... and it had a really good smell.

Gugalanna is Ishtar's familiar and would be one of her noble phantasms, if she still had it.

Gugalanna is the most powerful of Mesopotamian divine beasts, and answers only to Ishtar once unleashed.

During the Babylonia singularity, Gugalanna was stolen by her other self, the Ishtar of Fate Strange/Fake.

After two failed attempts to resummon Gugalanna, Ishtar has seemingly given up on resummoning Gugalanna in all its glory.

She has instead contented herself with nurturing the remnant of it that she has left, known as Gugalanna Lily.

Gugalanna Lily takes the form of a chihuahua-sized calf with strange spikes on its back, its stripes reminiscent of a boarlet.

She is extremely protective over it, and refuses to discuss it with people she does not trust. She plans to nurture it back to its full strength and reclaim her full power. It has been storing power, but often expends its stores prematurely protecting its mistress.

Despite being slain by Gilgamesh and Enkidu once before, Gugalanna Lily retains its sense of self and its memories. As such, it does not like either Gilgamesh or Enkidu, and is prone to ramming into Gilgamesh's ankles if left loose when he is around.

Gugalanna was capable of generating several hurricanes around itself; Gugalanna Lily can generate small jolts of electricity, often shocking those who try to touch it without permission.

It likes to eat electricity and storm clouds, so it often gravitates toward servants like Fran who generate electricity.

It does not like the cold. It has its own little coat for when they venture into low temperatures, but likes snuggling inside Ishtar's coat even more.
