Cherry- greaser girl with a single father who’s pretty busy but cherishes her a lot. She’s able to befriend most people, but she gets harassed a lot because… she’s a girl. She kind of take pony’s role

Bob- greaser whose parents both work a lot, so they aren’t there for him to give him attention, so he’s an adrenaline junkie as well as an alcoholic. He works at the DX and is always drag racing people

Randy- greaser whose parents are way too strict. He’s got younger siblings and a job, his parents are always pressuring him to do more. He works at the DX with Bob and is usually the one to pull him away from fights (greaser Randy is less of a follower because he knows Bob is in more danger if he lets Bob do whatever)

Marcia- her parents both work as well, but her mom is around more. Her mom is kind of doped up and isn’t there for her. Her dad used to hurt her but ever since Cherrys dad let her stay at their house, she barely goes home and it’s stopped ever since Marcia got taller (aka able to defend herself better) she is dating Randy but honestly he’s just her friend. She feels bad about it.

Paul: Cherrys cousin on her mom’s side. He takes Darry’s role and is very protective of her as well. He wanted to go to college, but can’t obviously. He’s the leader of their gang, but he feels like he’s somehow betraying them by being in love with Darry. He’s Paul still, so he’s kind of arrogant and assumes he knows more than other people. He’s obsessed with “shortcuts” and “work smarter not harder” and often gets in trouble for this

Darry- Sox who is currently in college. He isn’t around a lot even though his parents are dead (soda and pony are left with a nanny who comes around three times a week to check on them and report to Darry. Darry also calls every day to check on them) he’s a likeable guy but he is still in love with Paul. He has romps with Tim sometimes but he’s very conflicted. He does LIKE Tim but Tim is far from Paul m. It doesn’t help that twobit gets wrapped up in this sometimes too. Darry’s head is about to split open sometimes.

Soda- Soc who didn’t drop out, but he’s still failing all his classes. This upsets Darry a lot, but soda could care less. He’s very popular and throws parties a lot, which makes Darry very upset. Soda doesn’t think college is important, but he also knows that he doesn’t get a choice and no matter how bad he does, he’s going to end up there. So he doesn’t try too hard and just has fun.

Pony- soc who is a smart cookie. Basically the same tbh, perhaps a bit less traumatized from the basic environment. He loves talking to greasers because Darry said not to.

Johnny- Sox who is still abused, it’s just hidden now. His parents actually care about public perception so they act like a loving family in public and at events. They both tell Johnny he sucks and isn’t good enough to be their only son. Johnny takes this to heart a lot and it makes him try harder at school (but it stresses him out so he does worse)

Dally- soc whose dad is a big time lawyer who doesn’t act like a father. Dally is left to run wild and jump greasers (he also gets with greaser girls sometimes because he’s not supposed to sully soc girls) dally is failing most of his classes but somehow gets a’s every semester (his dad pays the school) he’s besties with tim and they jump greasers together. They don’t have the same relationship as they do as greasers because i think it’s less acceptable for civilized boys to beat each other up like that. Instead they both were in the boxing team in highschool and made sure to stay in the same weight class lmfao

Steve- soc with absent single father, Steve has a car hobby. He’s got two cars and they’re both super expensive. The cars are his babies and his dad pays him a lot more when he upsets Steve now. Steve has one super nice car he drives his friends around in and one that he keeps in the garage and obsesses over. He likes to jump greasers but not with soda because sometimes soda feels bad about it 💔

Twobit- soc, his dad didn’t leave, he’s just always on business trips. His mother is a socialite who is always bragging about him, even if there’s nothing to brag about. He’s an alcoholic whose parents paid for him to not have to retake junior year. Despite this, he’s a fun guy and everyone likes him, even greasers. He’s very non discriminatory (and is lowkey in love with Darry) He helps his buddies if they get jumped but he won’t jump a greaser unless he has a reason (like a vendetta against one specific greaser who keeps exchanging eyes with Darry)

Tim- stepdad is also on business trips a lot, his mother is classy old money. His family has ties to the Italian mafia on his mother’s side. Tim (like Paul in the series) didn’t go to college and instead works for his father’s company and is already making a shit ton of money at 18. He likes to scare greaser girls and children. Sometimes he revs his engine super loud around greaser girls to make them shriek. He likes darry and romps around with him but he’s aware of the way Darry looks at Paul. He HATES Paul and tries to hit him with his car sometimes

Angela- most popular girl in school. She ruins relationships and makes girls insecure. She shoves cherry and Marcia around sometimes and bullies them in the locker room. She doesn’t actually have anything against them, she just has a lot of built up frustration inside. She’s still awful to them. She tried to steal Bob 😭 but he didn’t gaf about her and she got embarrassed

Curly- He’s always getting arrested but somehow has no criminal record. He likes to jump people ofc because he’s curly but nobody takes him seriously because he always jumps weak people. He knows he isn’t that scary. He struggles in school and his mom threatens to send him to boarding school when he pisses her off (this sets his straight for two days before he’s back on his bs)

Evie- pretty soc girl that is always wearing the newest and most expensive clothing. Incredibly spoiled but not a total jerk

Sylvia- soc girl that’s always with a new guy, usually bounces between Tim and dally. Her focus in this au is more along the lines of picking the best husband because her parents have basically groomed her into a trophy wife position

Buck- daddy’s boy. Very spoiled. His father runs a successful beer company and Buck holds an important position there. He’s Sylvia’s cousin like always and is trying to keep Dallas and Tim AWAY

Sandy- Soc girl that is incredibly eager to become a mother. She’s a typical “good Christian girl” and gen believes this is the best she can do

something i cant not think about when listening to justice for tulsa

i know i know the socs picked most of the fights but still i cant help but feel for them because they're doing what they've been raised to do

and in justice for tulsa its mainly paul and cherry. and cherry is trying to get paul to feel for the greasers because everything wouldn't have happened if it weren't for them jumping pony and johnny

but i think paul was just grieving too because if he's randy's replacement then it means they were like good friends yk and he's trying to blame anyone but himself because he wouldn't be able to take it if it was his fault that his best friend died

and everytime i listen to the last part i hear paul's voice and i think about how pained it is and how they're fighting for their own against the people "to blame"

they feel that they NEEED revenge or something because they don't want to be the ones to lose most certainly after bob died too.

it's the whiplash from something like this too because they've always messed around before but never to that point and they really don't know how to go about it except for fighting

all because bobs parents couldnt say no

also if it were anyone else to be brought up in the socs circumstances they would end up the same way

Johnny Cade never thought he had a real purpose.

He thought he would just end up like his parents or working minimum wage at a job he didn’t like or shady quick jobs to survive. He wasn’t very smart, it took him too long to write, to say what he meant correctly. He didn’t really understand math, took him longer than most to understand the work and it just made him feel stupid. He was scrawny with a light build but he was still underweight, he didn’t care too much for sports either. He a little sense when it came to how to survive in the real world but not enough to make a living.

He’d stop trying In general, he would sometimes sleep in class to make up for lost time at home, most of the time he would just stare at a blank wall silently. Sure sometimes his classmates would be concerned but eventually they started ignoring him too.it was better that way, he didn’t he have anything to contribute anyways he knew one thing for a fact, for absolute certain.

Johnny Cade would be another no named poor kid turned criminal to die and rot.

It seemed his fears came true when he killed that Bob kid. He never liked him from the start, even more so when he beat him within an inch of his life and left him that nasty gash on his cheek. He didn’t feel sorry about killing that soc. He tried to drown his friend, he beat him black and blue and here was so much blood gushing out of his nose you would’ve thought a pipe broke. He didn’t feel sorry about getting his payback.

He felt sorry that he proved himself right, that he had disappointed dally in someway by getting into more trouble than required. He proved himself right that he would amount to nothing but a low life criminal who would be locked up in a prison cell and rot there for the rest of his life or die in agonizing pain.

Was he a fool for wanting more? Hoping that he could be strong like Dallas. Strong and tough like dally. Maybe even help people. He was too hopeful, it was a nice fantasy though. That maybe he could amount to more.

When he was in the church with Ponyboy, he felt bad, guilty. It sunk in that this was his life now, he wasn’t gonna see the pearly gates after he killed that boy, if he ever got caught he even if he didn’t go to jail on the count of self defense he would still have to face his family. He did too much, he wasn’t thinking clearly.

When those kids were trapped in that church he felt like he was responsible for it. He was torn between listening to Dallas and going into that church with Ponyboy. But he knew it was his fault, he had to fix his mess, also it would’ve been irresponsible to let him wander in by himself. So he followed. He when he saved those kids he felt a rush of adrenaline. The smoke, the humidity, the heat, the sounds around him. It lit a fire in him, it made him feel like he actually had a purpose, Like he was worth something, that he was actually good at something.

The adrenaline came crashing down when the curch fell. His back hurt for a few seconds, bolts of pain coursed through under the weight of beams and oak wood and his nervous system screamed and ached in pain as the fire melted his flesh.

In the hospital he was in pain constantly. He couldn’t move, he could barely talk or open his eyes. He was right. he would die in agonizing pain. He thought his tombstone fit him well though.

they met when they were 6 at a park. cherry was sitting alone on a bench and marcia being afraid of nothing just sat down and started yapping.

Marcia used to be afraid of nothing except for storms. whenever there was a storm she would curl up in the corner of her room and cry.

her parents weren't around much, both working to hard to keep the life they had built so her house was often empty.

cherry having a not so good home environment would spend days upon days at marcias and they would just hang out.

cherry was the quiet popular girl who did her work but when she was at marcias house they would talk the most shit and about drama going around the school.

cherry is really good at doing other people's hair, and it's something she quite enjoys doing. someday, when things get too stressful, Marcia will let Cherry just mess with her hair as they sit in silence or talk about what's bothering her.

Marcia used to roller skate a lot when she was younger but stopped when she reached highschool and started to worry more about her staus.

cherry lowkey hates oranges. she hates anything to do with them while marcia LOVES them.

on the days where they were practicing for rodeos they find a way to fuck with eachother.

they had a game where they had gotten this small little figure and have made it a game to place it somewhere on eachother and whoever has it has to try to get it to the other person without them noticing. the last time they played marcia got it to cherry(I'm gonna come back to this later)

once they reached high school, Cherry had met Bob in her math class. at first they didn't really talk but after being paired together during class they sort of just hit it off.

Marcia and Bob? did NOT hit it off. they started unsure of each other and then turned to them, not liking each other.

there was one day where bob and marcia had ended up alone waiting for the rest of there friends and marcia got to see the true version of bob Sheldon that had been pushed down deep.

he had started talking about the stars, going into detail about the ones he knew and how important they were to him. no matter what changed in his life or the little amount of actual love he got from his family they stayed a constant. a reminder that there were nice things that even he could see.

Marcia before would have never expected it from someone like him but it made her look at him with a different light. only for a little while because that was the only time she had ever seen that side of him. after that he went back to the bob Sheldon she had known. the bob Sheldon who hated her just as much as she hated him.

Marcia was considered a weird girl who was simply friends with Cherry Valance. that didn't bother her much up until that point.

Marcia hated how Bob treated Cherry like some sort of trophy. Cherry had always told her that he wasn't like that and that he was real kind and she didn't need to worry.

the weeks when Cherry would spend hours at Marcias turned into just a few days, focusing her time on Bob which didn't hurt Marcia.

she understood that a d she respected it. she spent most of her time with bev, brill, and trip. she learned a lot with them and learned that something were better kept hidden than out.

her parents had very different ways of thinking. her father grew up with a single father who didn't have much taught her to fit in and roam with the crowd because that's how you got successful while her mother grew up with a rich family who was cold and uncaring. she taught marcia to stick up for herself and to trust those who are her true friends.

Marcia often battled between what her parents wanted her to be. she wants to make her father proud, but she doesn't want to disappoint her mother, who always taught her to be kind and true to herself.

reaching highschool she learned real quick between the difference of social class and how she needed to fit in if she wanted to make it to graduation.

Bev had told her that she needed to stop "acting so weird, you'll never get someone if you act like that," and marcia had laughed in her face then. Bev, that day, wasn't too happy with her, nearly cost her the spot she had within the small group. she learned that day to take most things with a smile and that things would be easier if she just kept others happy.

Cherry had been spending time with Bob, the nights where they both just needed to escape from their lives, the would drive Bob's car out to a reserved place and just look at the stars.

the first time Bob got real drunk she had freaked the fuck out because she would not be with someone who ended up like her father.

he the next day had showed up at her house with flowers and with an apology. she practically melted into his arms after she explained to him why she had freaked. he had promised that it wouldn't happen again, though he never kept that promise, leading to her snapping at the nightly double.

Cherry post cannon distanced herself from all the socs for the most part. she only really stayed connected to chet and somewhat marcia.

the two grew apart for a little bit as Marcia battled with the pressure of her parents and with the ideas of social class.

one night marcia just completing broke down in front of her parents. they talked for hours after that, working through their problems and how she had been feeling. her parents had always loved her, she knew that but her father rarely showed any emotion and her mother too busy fighting with her own family to realize how her own family was falling apart.

the next day Marcia asked Cherry to talk and they did. Marcia apologized from practically everything that had happened andthey both made a promise to be better, to talk things out no matter how they felt.

If you’re someone who doesn’t like a lot of attention or having your name in practically the entire teen population’s mouths, you’re in for quite a ride.

A lot of girls at school, mainly socs, are so envious of the fact that you’re with him. The gossip and rumors are endless, it can tend to be pretty overwhelming. The talk of your high school peers can sometimes get to you and cause problems with your relationship. If you confront Bob about it he’ll always deny and sweet talk you until you’re reassured enough.

“Is it true you were makin’ out with Cherry Valance under the bleachers? ‘Cuz that’s what everyone’s been tellin’ me.”

“Who? Doll you know I only have eyes for you.”

He’s also a really good liar watch out sis.

The first time he met you was at a homecoming dance. He confidently strolled over to you and told you how gorgeous you looked in your dress before asking you to dance with him. You couldn’t refuse, he was just too damn charming. He gave you a ride home and walked you to your front steps, he placed a sweet kiss on your cheek before he left. You were hooked right then and there. 

Def the type to help carry your books and/or bag for you in school. He always walks you to class and eats lunch with you. 

Never lets you pay for anything when you go out anywhere together, he absolutely refuses no matter how much you insist. 

Always has a hand on you. He likes to have a hand on the small of your back mostly. He can easily pull you towards him, plus he can slide down and grab some a*s if he really wants to. 

He’s a huge flirt, he’ll shower you in compliments and praise constantly.

Bob is lowkey insecure as hell, if you praise him he’ll quickly be putty in your hands.

Lots and lots of dates. The both of you go out together all the time. Every now and then you’ll go on double dates with Randy and Marcia.

Your family loves him to death. They know him and his family have such a fine reputation. Whenever he goes over your house he behaves like the perfect gentlemen, they adore the way he carries himself.

He rarely talks about his family and his home life. If you persist it only leads to him snapping at you... so you just chalked it up as a sensitive topic.

“Well you don’t have to know every single little detail about me and my life so just leave it alone.” He would growl. 

You’ve only met his parents once when they invited you over for dinner at his house. Bob was very hesitant, but you were so excited to finally meet them he couldn’t say no to you. 

The dinner was very tense, and awkward to say the least. Mrs. Sheldon was more talkative than Mr. Sheldon, his daddy seemed pretty grumpy. 

Very possessive and is indeed the jealous type. Guy friends are a big no, if a boy so much as looks at you a certain way he will make a scene.

The first time you had s*x was in the backseat of his car one night after attending a house party together. You had already been going steady for a few months, and he had been dying to see you naked ever since he seen how that homecoming dress hugged your curves perfectly.

It wasn’t until he was hovering over your trembling, bare body did he realize just how hungry and selfish he was acting. He yanked off your clothes pretty quickly, his hands roamed everywhere, his kisses were rough and sloppy; after months of waiting he finally had all of you for himself and he couldn’t help but get carried away.

He could see how nervous you were when his blue orbs met your own, his touches became softer and the pace slowed down. Right before he entered you he made sure you were ready. 

“Are you nervous?”

“A little.” You admitted, your cheeks growing even more red than they already were.

He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear before trailing the back of his hand down the side of your cheek to your collarbone. “Don’t be, beautiful. I’ll take care of you.” 

The beginning of your relationship is mainly all sunshine and rainbows, because he’s on his best behavior. As more time goes by Bob becomes more careless.

After being with him for a while he becomes more reckless with his drinking around you. You and him end up getting into a lot of fights because of the way he acts when he’s drunk... it frightens you. 

“You’re drinkin’ too much, Bob. It’s scarin’ me.”

“Ah, you don’t know nothin’. Quite bein’ a nag.” He’d slur. 

“You’re the one bein’ a buzzkill! Gettin’ obliterated and startin’ fights ain’t fun, Robert!” 

“You wouldn’t know fun if it slapped you in the face, woman.”

You’ve gotten close to breaking up on a few occasions due to catching him flirting with other girls. Whenever you mention leaving him, Bob instantly becomes hysterical and horrified. He can’t lose the one good thing he has going for him.

“I can’t keep doin’ this with you, Bob.” 

“Yes you can! I’ll do better-- I’ll be better for you, I promise.” He’d swear up and down desperately. “Just... please don’t leave, alright? I love you. You’re my everythin’.”

One day as you watched him change in your bedroom, you noticed multiple bruises and lacerations on his torso. At first you thought it was just from him getting into a fight. But it was then you noticed that there was a huge variety of old and new scars, along with cigar burns on his shoulder blades. You questioned him about it and he refused to speak on the topic.

“Babe...” You scanned his back with a concerned gaze. “Who is hurtin’ you like this?”

He tugged his polo over his head roughly, “Nobody. It’s all old.”

“Bob--”

“I SAID IT’S NOTHIN’! DROP IT GOD DAMNIT!”

It took you a moment to put two and two together, but when you finally did you felt sick to your stomach. It had all made sense now, why he never wanted you over his house and why he never talked about his parents. 

That night you held him in your arms while he sobbed and wailed. He didn’t have to say a word, you knew. The poor boy was an absolute mess, he was broken. By god you just wanted to fix him.
