After my last post explaining how much I loved Novi Sad, I must say that this city not only inspired me in being my whole self, but also to push my creativity a little more beyond. In Novi Sad is where my story as street performer begun. I must say that it has to be one of the best experiences I’ve had. Doing what I love while getting something with it warms my heart so much. In the balkans, it’s not so much however is enough to survive. Nevertheless, it’s all about the fun and growing as performer. This day I saw a violinist and decided to join him in his performance, while we were looking for a spot we saw a guitarist and asked to join as well and this is the magic that happened. I was also accompanied by my very good friend whom I met in Belgrade and has been traveling for a while and is coming all the way from Perú. Not only a circus performer but also an AMAZING DJ, your company was so amazing and having your support as a friend, and brother has made me feel so good to know how amazing our cultures unite not mattering in what part of the world (LATINOAMERICA UNIDA PUÑETAA). Each day I get more and more closer to follow my dream of joining a circus someday..... I must say I have to thank all of the friends I made in this town who not only motivated me and me feel so good about it, but also the amazing people who I would meet that same day and would stop whatever they were doing to come and see me in my performances around this town. I’m so happy I got to be in this city and be part of the extraordinary art movement that happens in this town. It doesn’t make sense to me to only express one or a couple aspects of our being, because that’s not what we are... We are not one dimensional, but multi dimensional beings. Being human is a privilege. We are the most conscious and creative species that we know of. We have so much potential, why limit ourselves by confining our being to just one thing? Our human potential has to be fulfilled in our own ways; it’s the core reason why we do what we do. It’s part of our primal instinct that has kept us surviving all these years. Our humanness should be appreciated and acknowledged, not taken for granted. To me, we are here to evolve ourselves, each other, and make it comfortable for other species/the planet to thrive as well. Let’s do our part as humans and be what we are 👊. While many "dance expertises" in Brazil are shouting (hysterically) that a #HollywoodMovie like #Joker can not be related to a "pure dance" like #Butoh (when i posted it one week ago https://www.instagram.com/p/B13t4hHFmBi/?igshid=i568y1mzkkpc) , you, in your article on #NewYorkTimes restated it with deep arguments. Not only the #ClownPrinceOfCrime 's origin _ portrayed by #JoaquinPhoenix and directed by #ToddPhillips _ is a masterpiece beyond hollywood standards, it also shows how much #BodyExpression can interfere in an #ActorPerformance. It's not much known for regular audience, but actors like #GeoffreyRush (who studied with the #physicaltheater master #JacquesLecoq), #AmyAddams and #CharlizeTheron(both #dancers before working in Hollywood) had a very intense embodied background to lift over their expressivity.And even actors like the late #SteveMcQueen and the "late #ironman",#RobertDowneyJr, studied #ChineseMartialArts(#WingChun ) which is relatable to dance in many ways in terms of #PostModernDance . Just to endup this discussion with more links to this wonderful movie, #JerryLewis , in his biografic documentary #MethodToTheMadnessOfJerryLewis , described himself as "NOT BEING A DANCER AT ALL"(at least compared to #FredAstaire and #GeneKelly, who also influenced "Joker") but let his body in a "loose dance" during his comical improvised scenes.His "disconnected" body expression was one of Jerry Lewis great achievements as a...#Clown. So, having said that, i would suggest to all actors (hollywood, broadway or even the ones who do stand up comedy performances) to go deep on that techniques and approaches.
