#GiaKourlas , you are amazing. While many "dance expertises" in Brazil are shouting (hysterically) that a #HollywoodMovie like #Joker can not be related to a "pure dance" like #Butoh (when i posted it one week ago https://www.instagram.com/p/B13t4hHFmBi/?igshid=i568y1mzkkpc) , you, in your article on #NewYorkTimes restated it with deep arguments. Not only the #ClownPrinceOfCrime 's origin _ portrayed by #JoaquinPhoenix and directed by #ToddPhillips _ is a masterpiece beyond hollywood standards, it also shows how much #BodyExpression can interfere in an #ActorPerformance. It's not much known for regular audience, but actors like #GeoffreyRush (who studied with the #physicaltheater master #JacquesLecoq), #AmyAddams and #CharlizeTheron(both #dancers before working in Hollywood) had a very intense embodied background to lift over their expressivity. And even actors like the late #SteveMcQueen and the "late #ironman",#RobertDowneyJr, studied #ChineseMartialArts(#WingChun ) which is relatable to dance in many ways in terms of #PostModernDance . Just to endup this discussion with more links to this wonderful movie, #JerryLewis , in his biografic documentary #MethodToTheMadnessOfJerryLewis , described himself as "NOT BEING A DANCER AT ALL"(at least compared to #FredAstaire and #GeneKelly, who also influenced "Joker") but let his body in a "loose dance" during his comical improvised scenes. His "disconnected" body expression was one of Jerry Lewis great achievements as a...#Clown. So, having said that, i would suggest to all actors (hollywood, broadway or even the ones who do stand up comedy performances) to go deep on that techniques and approaches. Not only will it undistress your body.It also will make you a more skilled actor. . . P.s.:The article i got from #NYTimes;the video i got from the youtube channel #looper. Pt. 2 Same Client Homie dropped off mad Tom Ford. Not a fan of the wide peak look, nor of the idea of actually copping one of these in general for that matter (they are entirely made by Ermenegildo Zenga to their Couture line standards, in the Zegna Italy Factory. Now I love Zegna, most underrated fabric manufacturer in the world, however Zegna Craftsmanship is very good, but not close to Tom Ford 3 piece price good, more close to Zegna Trofeo 2 piece price good. Admittedly, the fabrics they custom make strictly for Ford are unfuckingbelievable, no question there, truest amazing...but a suit that's essentially 2/3 handwork and 33% machine stitched? And your asking retail $5,500 base price? Going up to $9k? Hey Tom, respect for what you did at Gucci for real...but you can get fucked.....Also when you own a clothing CORPORATION, yet you manufacture 0% of all products sold, and license manufacturing for 100% of all goods sold, is it still really A Clothing Corp? Existentialism applied to Tom Ford's steep decline post Gucci/Rive Gauche: lecture for another time. Props on both the films though, 100, both were great....check that, Firth's film is a good movie, Creatures knocked it out the park in comparison .... screenplay, script, acting, storyline, casting (Gynllenhal always great, but Kick Ass as a fucking Hick Rapist Murderer?Props..makes up for Hammer...a very good looking, no homo, and VERY YOUNG husband relative to Addams...perhaps a Ford hidden agenda? And if you find that incentive or homophobic, shut the fuck up, directors have been using the casting couch to smash since movies were invented. Guys, girls, the one Bruce Jenner is now, and even probably some of whatever the Q stands for in LGBTQ... a mystery to all.... ....All been victims of the couch), oh the Cinematography/ Set Selection top notch....oh and shouts to wardrobe...whomever that may be, all great but.... (taken offense? Not sorry. Leave. Try a sense a humor, you people are terrible) MORE IMPORTANTLY: Amy's two tone leather overcoat was pure sex....a similar piece was dropped by I believe Neil Barrett A/W of roughly '13, and I remember this so well because of how close they got, but just missed the mark and wound up being pretty gross....... This essentially righted all the wrongs, but didn't stop there, continued until they were looking at a fucking leather garment that is just pure fucking sex...sickest I've ever seen....
