So it occurs to me that I posted most of their lore on my OC blog (though a few posts on here have the story info) and honestly I think it's very important to note that the entire reason a guy from Florida is recruited to help defeat the demon lord isn't him as the hero. His younger brother (by about ten years younger) is the Chosen Hero and... not very good at it. So the goddess (Solei) who had selected the hero has to begrudgingly go back to earth and convince his older brother to help save her world.

(Also Reynold admits to Solei that "Sascha could never be a bad influence. He's the best impulse control I've ever had" and she really doesn't like to hear it. That's terrifying.)

I played Season over the weekend, which if I had to condense "thematic meandering" into a videogame is probably what I would most closely end up with; but it was still a cozy chill time that targeted my very specific niche of robust cow petting mechanics. Followed by journaling the heck out of them.

I do think cute indies living and dying by their sincere desire to paint the human condition should never ever ever fall into the temptation of obtuse and nebulous worldbuilding that desperately needs to explain itself so it can function as an aesthetic blanket for their vignettes. Just keep it loose and metaphor-heavy, fellas.

Cause if you're not extremely, painfully specific about your intention with a story that centers ignorant tourism and historic preservation, you're gonna beef it, bud

Cool part about trips is you get to see buildings like the monster energy drink manufacturer building and then random abandoned buildings in the middle of the desert that make you question who the fuck wants to live like courage the cowardly dog

i remember when i was a kid i was friends with my neighbour n one time i came over to his house n his mom was like oh he's upstairs playing video games and i got so excited bc i had just gotten into video games around the same time (as in pokemon) so i went upstairs all excited and he was playing a shooter game and at that point i had never seen a shooter before so i had no prejudice against them i didnt even know what they were so i just watched him play for some time and was just kinda dumbfounded at why is he playing this unbelievably boring game when he could be playing pokemon
