#Dressemberbound Day 10: Children’s Book Character 📚 #BounderStyle: Paper Bag Princess (aka Elizabeth 😉) COVID-19 led to a dramatic increase in online exploitation as more and more people were forced to stay indoors to stop the spread of the virus. Sadly, as the virus evolved, so did the trafficking industry. In Canada alone, there has been an 88% increase in online sexual exploitation reports since the pandemic began. Canada and other developed countries in North America and Europe are primarily responsible for the skyrocketing demand for OSEC. According to UNICEF, the Philippines is the largest source country for OSEC, and the Dressember Network works diligently with local justice and social service officials in the Philippines to find and safeguard children victimized by OSEC, and ensure their abusers are prosecuted. Like Disneybounding, but at cons?

If you don’t know what Disneybounding is, lemme ‘splain:

Adults aren’t allowed to cosplay as Disney characters inside the parks because small children and/or their moronic parents might mistake Random Park Goer Who Is Cosplaying for Actual Disney Character!! and treat them as such. And if Random Cosplayer says or does something Against Disney’s super strict Code of Conduct, the park could be held responsible or, at the very least, some cast members (employees) could get chewed out for no reason (as if that doesn’t happen to them all the time anyway). So. NO COSPLAYING.

And in the process of looking up these examples I found @bounderstyle​ which is for Non-Disney bounding so APPARENTLY IT IS A THING I AM SO HAPPY. Because I just got all the parts I need for Sypha Belnades. Well, I just ordered the last pieces of clothes I need for her. I don’t have a pin yet.

It occurred to me that she’s wearing black sun sleeves, essentially, and y’all don’t know how weird I feel wearing my sleeves sometimes but I have to because THE SUN IS TRYING TO KILL ME (read: skin cancer is a bitch), and so seeing a character who wears them all the time... (plus I already adored Sypha).

Have no fear, the Dr. is here 💀💜 Okay, so I know we have no idea when Splash Mountain is going to be rethemed to the Princess and the Frog, but we’re hoping they use Dr. Facilier before the drop. This is probably not gonna happen since Disney announced new songs for the ride, but imagine Facilier singing “I’ve got friends on the other side” as the log falls over the cliff. #Dressemberbound Day 7: Rule Breaker #BounderStyle: Demogorgon As soon as I saw this skirt, I knew this had to happen! An estimated 60,000 children are involved in the Thai sex trade every year, according to the 2009 US State Department Country Report on Human Rights Practice, Thailand. Major risk factors of trafficking for children are poverty, family history of trafficking or sex work, a history of abuse, and family breakdown. The Dressember Network works in Thailand to support child survivors through mentorship programs and holistic aftercare. The program provides support, outreach, mentorship, and scholarships to young girls at risk of trafficking and their families. It provides students with a place where they feel like they can dream. Classes include language, music, art, and trade skills like organic farming and weaving. Will you join me in helping to protect the 60,000 children in the Thai sex trade?
