One of the reasons I love BuckTommy/Tevan/Kinley is the new dynamic that we get to see in Buck's life. Sure, we've seen him have a-many relationships, but not one like this.

Everyone around him as someone or something else to care for that usually takes, for lack of a better word, priority over Buck in some way. Think about it: Maddie has Chimney and Jee-yun, Bobby has Athena, Hen has Karen and Denny (and now Mara), and Eddie has Christopher. His own parents even treated him as a second to Daniel. He's been told that he doesn't really have anyone outside the 118 and besides from Maddie that rings true. And the relationships outside the 118 (at least the romantic ones) never seem to end well. But then again, the partners that we did see a lot of had other priorities as well. Abby had her mother and Taylor had her career.

If go off of the little backstory that Lou has created for Tommy, it seems that Tommy doesn't have anyone or anything outside of his job that would take priority over a romantic partner. Buck has never been someone's priority, but he's already becoming Tommy's. Which is evident through Tommy showing up to that bachelor party despite being on call and showing up at the hospital directly after his shift. Buck has the chance to be treated right and I think that is so so so important.

i know everyone has said this before, but the dubai penthouse is a concrete cell with huge dining tables and muted colours and tastefully modern décor that is actually soulless. the dubai penthouse audibly creaks and groans so often that louis and armand just call the sounds "the groan" and ignore them. the dubai penthouse is a monochrome empty space where louis and armand can't decide what to put on the walls to hide the cracks. louis and armand act out married life like a sitcom couple with their matching pyjamas and their double bed and their handholding when really they're both in this loveless sinking ship of a marriage because louis wanted to hurt lestat and armand doesn't think he deserves better than this. the dubai penthouse is a place of stagnation and bitterness, a prison of their own making. there is a rock garden full of rocks just like the ones louis was buried beneath. there are books up high in the rock garden room where armand can fly to grab them but louis can't reach them because armand keeps knowledge out of louis' reach. where's your coffin? daniel asked. you're standing in it, louis said.

i'm sorry but i don't believe polin were rushed or whatever. these two have known each other since they were CHILDREN. the love and respect they've had for each has always been there. and yes, it took one kiss for colin to realize his feelings weren't just platonic and why wouldn't it? i don't believe his feelings just came out of nowhere. penelope is his best friend. the one that would always made him feel appreciated, the one he would seek out to lift his spirits up, the one he always wrote to even when the responses stopped coming. other bridgerton couples felt passion for each other for less (don't misunderstand tho i love them too) but the difference with friends to lovers is that the love has always been there and it only grows as the years go by and i'm sorry to everyone that doesn't get it.

was thinking about fabian & riz at lunch again & needed to get thoughts out about my darling boy

Fabian thinking he's so much like his father. Fabian seeing Aelwyn & recognizing his mother--beautiful, mean, inebriated, guaranteed to outlive him, maybe kill him--and immediately telling her he loves her. after all, his father proposed to his mother before he knew her name. Fabian wondering why his infatuation faded after she domesticated, after he'd seen the wilds of Leviathan, after he realized how much he was not his father.

Fabian meeting Mazey & Ivy, recognizing his patterns, & deciding to try the soft option. he's not so much like his father, why shouldn't he have something soft, a simple, easy waltz compared to the tango he thought he'd enjoy. He doesn't need to recreate his parent's love story.

Fabian not recognizing for years that he already has. Fabian not recognizing there's already someone who's thrown themself at Fabian's feet in spite of his previous injury to them. Fabian not recognizing the creature of chaos that would rather burn down the world themself than lose him. Fabian not recognizing his anchor to reality, the one who most consistently leads him into what's important, that, between disparate lifespans and their collective pension for barreling head-first into life-threatening situations, he will one day have to learn to live without. Fabian not recognizing that he categorically refuses to think about that.

Fabian not recognizing that he gets the same feeling in his gut from the first time he saw Aelwyn when The Ball starts eating Kalvaxus. Fabian not recognizing that the feral look Riz gets when his eyes slit feels the same as when he watches his Papa take a turn toward violence. Fabian not recognizing how much better it might have been if his parents were best friends before Bill proposed. Fabian not recognizing how much he's like his mother.
