vampire!Eddie lathered up in sunscreen under a parasol all grumpy while everyone splashes around in the pool because the sunburns he gets now are gnarly and reader told him not to go out without spf 1000
this made me awww out loud
i really do love a brand of vampirism where it doesn’t destroy his life, it just makes it mildly inconvenient. like yeah it’s cool and all that he’s part of the Living Dead, a creature he’s only read about in storybooks and narrated durning campaigns- but fuck’s sake, he can’t have garlic anymore?? like yes he’s a scary vamp but at what cost
it only took one time this summer of him getting a sunburn (red as cherries, all over his back, six days to heal and a whole bucket of aloe. with much whining from a certain Creature of the Night.) for you to firmly ban him to the shade at every outdoor activity.
Eddie is just quietly seething, alabaster skin safe and so far away from the inviting pool full of all his friends and partner. jealous and irritated and grumpy as fuck behind dark sunglasses. hair all frizzy from the humidity <3
but then you come over to lay next to him on the shaded blanket and suddenly his mood has improved tenfold. you’re all cool as you press into his side, water dripping from your hair — down the slope of your neck — in between your swimsuit top — and Eddie is like 👀🕶️ behind his glasses. like hm maybe i will stay under this stupid umbrella for a bit. with you <3

jealousy, jealousy - chapter 9: and history repeats itself

chapter 9: and history repeats itself
By a mysteriously popular request, the choice of a nightclub for the Chinese GP post-race party was quashed in favor of a much more relaxed outdoor patio. A bonfire crackled merrily as the drivers lounged on cushioned wicker couches with beers or, in the case of Lando, Pierre, and Yuki, neon cocktails with silly little umbrellas stuck in them for good measure. String lights snaked through the trellis and hung from the trees surrounding the gorgeous terrace.
“These two give me whiplash,” Alex muttered, watching Max grab Charles by the bicep and steer them towards the only couch with two adjacent seats left.
“I meeeeean…what else did you expect after that crash?” Lando responded, rudely gesturing with his toothpick umbrella for emphasis.
Both drivers sighed, remembering the dramatic scene of Max running for his life to rescue Charles from the burning wreckage of his car. The incident had spurred a whole lot of controversy regarding the speed of responses to driver accidents. Max, with his ankle, and Charles, with the inhalation injuries he’d sustained from the smoke, both sat the Chinese GP out entirely. The grid privately joked that the Max Verstappen Podcast would go right on airing episodes, just from a different location, because wherever Max went, Charles did too. They were relieved that the pair of them were inseparable again—the drivers had realized that the alternative was so much worse.
But then, an interview aired that stunned everyone.
“Max, glad to see you’re on the mend but so unfortunate about your injury. How does it feel to have to give up an entire race weekend after that DNF in France?”
Max didn’t even hesitate. “It feels great. I have a lot of trust in Red Bull’s reserve driver. I would do it again in a second.”
The reporter was clearly caught off-guard by Max’s uncharacteristically chill response to missing a race, no less. “Well, that’s quite the honorable response from Max Verstappen, everyone.” His eyes narrowed at Charles ambling towards them. “Charles Leclerc! If you have a second, can you share some of your thoughts about having to forfeit the Chinese GP?”
Charles plopped down on the seat as close to Max as he could without earning himself any raised eyebrows from the nosy reporter.
“I just feel lucky”—he gave Max a meaningful look—“to be alive.”
Yuki and Pierre screamed into the microphones so loudly that Charles rubbed his temples, wondering if his ears would ever be the same again. He glanced at Max, who was singing along and swaying to the music. Every so often, their shoulders brushed.
“It’s official,” Carlos declared exasperatedly, “from now on we’re calling you guys the Karaoke Twins.”
Unfortunately, that only seemed to boost their confidence.
Charles looked around, his heart swelling as he took in the grid. The guys who spent ten months out of the year together, the highs exhilarating like no other, the lows subterranean. Oscar trying and failing to surreptitiously brand Zhou and Logan’s backs with McLaren stickers. Checo and Carlos roaring with laughter at a TikTok of Checo’s face superimposed onto Surprised Pikachu. Alex doing a spirited impression of Lando pummeling Max’s trophy in Hungary, Lando insisting it was “not his fault” and that “Max was the one that put it on the edge”. George gazing at Alex with something in his eyes Charles could only call pure adoration. He felt a pang at the sight. He couldn’t believe that he’d never noticed before.
By midnight, most of the guys had started to filter back to their hotels.
“Seeee yaaaaa,” Carlos sang as he herded Lando and the (extremely inebriated) Karaoke Twins out of the patio.
George didn’t miss a beat. “Hey Alex,” he smiled. “Let’s go back and hit the sim with Lando, shall we?”
Alex tried to remain put, clearly not ready for the night to end, but an insistent tug on his sleeve from George compelled him to get up with a sigh.
Charles saw George open the gate and wave Alex through first. He slowed down, and turned to give Charles a lingering look. The firelight flickered in his huge blue eyes. Good luck mate, they seemed to say sadly.
Of course, Charles thought, his chest tightening a little. Always there for Charles, always listening to him cry and talk about his unrequited feelings for another member of the grid…how could it not have given him some serious déjà vu? George wasn’t exactly forthcoming with his feelings with anyone except maybe Alex, who of course happened to be the source of his own emotional turmoil. Add that to the fact that he was tall, handsome, and generally projected an air of utter confidence through the sunglasses that were, at this point, a fixture on his face, and Charles realized that it was George who picked other people up when they were down—rarely the other way around. As George walked through the gate, Charles swore to himself that he wouldn’t ever let him feel alone again, not as long as they were on the grid together.
And just like that, it was only Max and Charles. Charles and Max. Just the two of them on the couch.
History could not have repeated itself any better, and George had been the narrator all along…
“We were alone…” Check.
“At a party winding down...” Check.
Charles forced himself to meet Max’s gaze, even though he was terrified that when he looked, he would see those beautiful blue eyes flat, impassive, closed off…like they had been for so long.
But staring back at him was a ferocious intensity that sucked the very air from Charles’ lungs. Until this moment, Charles had never thought that anything but scorching tires on a hot track could bring that kind of fire into Max’s eyes. The kind of intensity that didn’t just want him…it needed him.
Suddenly, Charles knew exactly what George meant. Max was giving him those eyes.
And if he just sat there, and let this moment pass…everything would just be wrong.
So he reached out just like he did in the sauna, a million years ago. But this time, he let his entire palm cradle Max’s cheek.
“I don’t want to be tired anymore,” Charles breathed.
And he closed his eyes as he finally, finally, finally touched Max’s lips to his.
The kiss lasted an eternity. Or maybe a split second. Time was meaningless; his entire reality was the the feeling of Max’s rough stubble on his fingers, Max’s arm coiling tightly around his waist, and of course, Max’s lips. Instinctively tensing, then relaxing, then daring to press first gently, then harder against Charles’. Even though his eyes were still closed, Charles felt like the ground was shifting beneath them.
Just as he was starting to think that he might actually pass out, Max’s grip slackened, and they broke apart. Blue met green, unblinking.
“So this is what it feels like to be awake, then,” Max replied.
Charles was undone. He launched himself into Max’s arms, letting himself drown in the silky folds of Max’s polo, the spicy cinnamon of his cologne, feverishly drinking in anything and everything that made him Max. “Yes,” he whispered into Max’s chest. “There is no world without you, Max Verstappen.”

Mi-17 4K-15214 of doomsday cult and terrorist organization Aum Shinrikyo.
In 1992, Aum Shinrikyo established a foothold in Russia with the assistance of Oleg Lobov, a politician in the newly formed Russian government who sought assistance from Aum's leader Shoko Asahara for the funding of a new Japanese school in Russia. Kiyohide Hayakawa, with the help of Lobov, was able to make connections within the Russian defense apparatus. He, along with a delegation of other Aum members, received training from Spetsnaz units, acquired a number of Soviet military manuals that had been translated into Japanese and managed to procure a brand new AK-74 assault rifle. The rifle was successfully smuggled back to Japan and was used as a model for Aum's own production of the AK-74 at a secret Aum weapons factory in Kanazawa.
Tumblr media
Kiyohide's group also returned with 4K-15214, a 1992 manufacture Azerbaijani Mi-17 military transport helicopter painted in flash white. Kiyohide's group carefully documented their exploits in Russia, and a recording of their expedition eventually fell into the hands of Japanese police officials. It is viewable (in part) in this Japanese TV documentary: https://youtu.be/bFwpKPNdLCM
Originally manufactured for the Soviet armed forces under the registration number CCCP-152, the helicopter was transferred to Azerbaijan Air following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Re-registered as 4K-15214 in civilian service in Azerbaijan, Aum legally imported the helicopter to Japan in 1994.
4K-15214 was intended to be used as a delivery system for chemical weapons over Tokyo, presumably using modified crop dusting equipment. Aum also purchased two radio-controlled helicopters (apparently under the codename "Hercules") with the goal of using them to remotely spread Sarin or other chemical agents. After both of the Hercules helicopters crashed during testing, Aum appears to have given up on the aerial spraying of chemical weapons entirely, instead opting for less complex methods.
Early attempts to spray Sarin utilized pesticide sprayers, but these proved unreliable. Aum eventually used a modified refrigeration truck to spread poison gas, but when this also failed to have the desired effect, individual cult members were selected to deliver the agents by hand. On March 20, 1995, members of Aum entered the Tokyo Metro carrying liquid Sarin in plastic bags wrapped with newspaper. Each Aum member laid their pouches in predetermined locations before puncturing them with the tip of an umbrella. The poison gas flooded the cramped train cars and subway tunnels killing 14 people and injuring hundreds more. It remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Japan's history and the deadliest act of chemical terrorism ever.
Investigators immediately suspected Aum Shinrikyo was behind the attack. Shortly thereafter, members of the Japanese police and Self Defense Forces (including members of the JGSDF's 1st Airborne Brigade) personnel raided Aum's headquarters in Kamikuishiki, where they unearthed not only Aum's weapons-of-mass destruction production facility, but 4K-15214 as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mi-17 was seized by police, partially disassembled and left in storage outdoors for some time while the trials against Aum progressed. In 1998, 4K-15214 was sold (at a low price) by the Japanese government to Djibouti and reregistered as J2-MAW. It entered service with the Djibouti Air Force (DAF) in 2001. It was repainted in a dark green at some point after the transfer, and now bears a desert scheme.

It's difficult to imagine a worse start to Rishi Sunak's campaign for the July 4th general election in the UK.
He made the announcement of the upcoming election outdoors in pouring rain and without benefit of either raincoat or umbrella. By the time he completed his remarks he looked like he had taken a shower with all his clothes on. And during his announcement an anti-Brexit activist down the street used a sound system to blast the Labour Party's 1997 election theme song "Things Can Only Get Better" so that everybody outside 10 Downing Street could easily hear it.
Then, after taking a day or so to dry off, Sunak visited a brewery in Wales where he made a gaffe related to the Wales national football team.
Rishi Sunak scores own goal at Welsh brewery with gaffe over national team’s Euros absence
Rishi then headed off to Northern Ireland. In Belfast, he conducted a photo op at one of the most inauspicious places in the city – the site where the doomed luxury passenger ship the RMS Titanic was built.
Sunak's election tour branded shambolic after Titanic Quarter visit inspires sinking ship comparison As James McCarthy from BelfastLive reports, Rishi Sunak was visiting the Titanic Quarter in Belfast this morning. This is what happened when Sunak was asked if he was captain of a sinking ship. [ ... ] While harmless on their own, the danger with incidents like this is that quite quickly they enable the media (or at least those parts of the media that aren’t slavishly loyal to the Tories) to establish a ‘loser narrative’, and once that’s in place, it can be near impossible to shift. What then happens is that every trivial mishap gets reported as a campaign calamity. There is some evidence that Sunak is getting stuck with this label already. His ‘things can only get wetter’ election announcement was as a genuine presentational disaster, and two of the most memorable things that happened on day one (yesterday) were a Euros gaffe in Wales, and a Q&A with workers that was not quite what it seemed. Labour mocked both of these in a vicious campaign video last night.
While every campaign has its gaffes, few campaigns make them semi-predictable events. And when they are clustered close to the start of a campaign, it becomes difficult to change the narrative.

Atsushi dropped into the metal chair opposite Akutagawa and let out a loud whuff, slumping immediately backward. Akutagawa raised his barely-there eyebrow, and Atsushi lifted his hand. “I’m okay,” he said, although that probably wasn’t the question Akutagawa was preparing to voice. “Been up since, since…” he dropped his hand against his forehead, groaned, and said, “never mind, I don’t think I actually slept.”
Continue on AO3 or:
“Is that why you ignored my text yesterday?”
“Didn’t get it until this morning.” Atsushi sat up finally and produced a brand-new flip phone from his pocket, laying it on the table. “Phone got smashed. At least I was able to keep my number this time, but god, what a pain.” He shifted around in his seat and pulled his courier bag off as well, laying it on the small table between them and groaning again, cracking something. “Going to pass the heck out tonight.”
It was a brilliantly sunny day, the sky bright blue and the few clouds above that perfect powder white. Akutagawa had picked a café with a small outdoor patio, which was bathed in sunlight and flush with greenery and flowers. There were umbrellas through the center of the small tables, helping alleviate the direct sunlight; and Akutagawa himself was dressed in no manner appropriate for the late spring weather; in a black turtleneck, sunglasses, and slacks with his coat folded over the back of the chair.
Atsushi was half tempted to ask if vampires even sweat.
Regardless, he nudged the courier bag toward Akutagawa, and after a moment Akutagawa leaned forward and picked it up, lifting the flap. “Four bags?” he said, surprised, surveying the contents before looking at Atsushi with a hint of concern. “This can’t possibly be safe for you.”
Atsushi thumped his chest. “Yosano-san drew them for me over the course of a week, she was testing my blood every day. Said she’d never seen anything like it.” Atsushi scrunched up his nose. “I feel a little like she was letting me do it just to see what would happen, but I’m fine so it’s all good anyway.”
“Another one of your detective agency fellows in on my secret, I presume.”
“Nah, I didn’t tell her why I needed them, but she was more than happy to help.” Atsushi tilted his head at Akutagawa, eyebrows raised and a grin on his face. “And was that actual concern for me I heard in your voice?”
“Oh, do fuck off, weretiger.” Akutagawa put the courier bag below the table, by his feet, and next to the small bag he himself had brought.
Atsushi yawned and leaned in on his elbows. “So how long are you going to be gone? Gonna be weird not seeing you every few days after,” he counted on his fingers. “Are we coming up on four months, now?”
“Port Mafia business is none of your concern.”
“Ah, that means you don’t know.”
Akutagawa gave him another look, and Atsushi lifted his eyebrows.
“If you knew you’d tell me. It’s not like I asked where you were going or what the details were.” They stared at each other across the table for a long moment, but then Akutagawa signed in annoyance and Atsushi knew he’d triumphed.
“You are damnably annoying sometimes,” Akutagawa muttered. He leaned down and rummaged in his shopping bag, producing a nondescript small black box tied with a ribbon. He placed it on the table and pushed it toward Atsushi, who looked at it with mild curiosity.
“We’re buying gifts now?” Atsushi didn’t lift his head from his hand. “I don’t even know when your birthday is.”
Akutagawa’s mouth twitched. “It’s not important.”
Atsushi had a new thread to tug on, now. “Do birthdays even really count for you, anymore? Do you age? I can’t believe I’ve never asked that before.”
Akutagawa stared at him in silence. Atsushi picked up his new phone. “I’ll ask Dazai-san when your birthday is if you don’t tell me.”
“That isn’t the threat you think it is, I doubt he knows himself.” Akutagawa sighed, folding his arms. “As to your other questions, I don’t really know. I’ve hardly been like this long enough for it to matter.”
Atsushi let out a huff of amusement. “Man, if you don’t age, we’re gonna look hilarious together in like, fifty years. Although I don’t think my hair could get any grayer.”
Akutagawa was silent, staring at Atsushi with a stricken expression. Atsushi ignored his stunned silence and picked up the small black box, weighing it in his hand. It was tied shut with a black ribbon. Akutagawa found his voice before Atsushi slid the ribbon off.
“Don’t open it here.”
He looked back up at Akutagawa. “Why not?”
“If you must open it now, take it to the bathroom and open it there.”
“Why? What is it?” Atsushi gave Akutagawa a curious look, but Akutagawa sighed and gestured him away. “Fine, fine. I’m going. You’re not as mysterious as you think you are, you know.”
Atsushi glanced back over his shoulder as he opened the door to the café proper to locate the facilities, and Akutagawa was sitting back in his chair, hand over his mouth and staring out into the distance.
=====
Atsushi locked the bathroom door behind him and immediately slid the black ribbon off the box, letting the bottom part fall open into his hand. He didn’t have the first clue what Akutagawa was actually up to, although if he wasn’t brain fogged from the last forty-eight hours he probably would have been quicker on the uptake.
There was a small, folded note sitting just atop the padding, proof that Akutagawa had been into this before handing it off. Atsushi set the box on the edge of the sink and opened the note. You know what to do with this. -R
Atsushi glanced down at the box. Sitting now exposed was a small, matte black vibrator with a flared base.
He stared at the contents of the box. Atsushi had never actually seen one of these in real life, hadn’t really thought about it at all to be honest, and certainly wasn’t expecting to see one today. What did Akutagawa intend him to do with this, he was in the tightly cramped quarters of a single bathroom in a café in the middle of the day…?
The padded interior of the box had a small, vacant indentation, and Atsushi rubbed his finger into it curiously. He realized suddenly that it was intended for the remote, and flushed red to his ears. That’s what Akutagawa was getting at. He wanted Atsushi to put in the vibrator and then walk out there among everyone like there was nothing wrong and he didn’t have a hunk of silicon up his ass.
Shit, why did that turn him on?
Atsushi turned the vibrator over in his hands. It wasn’t particularly big, and the base was flared to keep it in place; underneath it in the box was a small packet of lube. He should be able to handle this without any problem if he wanted. There was a small, rounded power button on the base, and when Atsushi pressed it the entire thing buzzed once, which made him jump and almost drop it into the sink.
The vibrator didn’t make any further noise. Atsushi eyed it cautiously, then laid it back in its box and thought about it. Finally, he exhaled and began taking off his pants.
=====
Akutagawa watched as Atsushi sat awkwardly across from him, face bright red. He knew he’d been walking strangely and was certain everyone was staring at him and knew why, but in reality, it was likely only Akutagawa who’d noticed any difference in his gait. Atsushi settled carefully onto the metal chair, trying to figure out now how to sit comfortably.
“You really did it,” Akutagawa said, a lazy smirk on his face. “I must say I was leaning toward you throwing it in my face, with how long you were gone.”
“It was a—hm—passing thought.” Atsushi shifted his weight wrong and shuddered. It was getting slightly easier to move around it, though, and he sat gingerly forward. “Happy?”
“Weretiger, I am delighted.” Akutagawa produced a small black remote from his pocket, and Atsushi’s eyes widened. Before he could prepare himself, Akutagawa pressed the button.
The vibrator gave off a sharp tremor and then began to pulse inside him. Atsushi sat up ramrod straight, hands gripping the chair between his legs. The entire metal frame rattled, though before anyone could notice Akutagawa cut the vibrator off. Atsushi slumped forward and let out a very shaky breath. “Fuck,” he muttered, knees drawing together.
“Not the best idea for use in metal chairs, I see,” Akutagawa said, although there was a tinge of amusement to his tone. He eyed Atsushi, who seemed frozen in place. “Are you okay?”
“Think so,” Atsushi breathed, finally starting to relax himself. “That was…a lot.”
Akutagawa put his chin in his hand. “And that’s the lowest setting. We’re going to have some fun today.”
“Ending in a bed somewhere, I hope,” Atsushi said.
Akutagawa smirked knowingly at him. “We shall see.”
=====
Akutagawa was taking things maddeningly slow.
They ate at the café, Atsushi still perched gingerly on the edge of the chair, but Akutagawa had slipped the remote into his pocket and not touched it again for the duration of their meal, clearly not wanting to let anyone else in on their fun. After they ate they walked around the stores a bit and Atsushi relaxed, almost forgot about it—until Akutagawa turned it on and Atsushi jumped, shuddering visibly and cheeks going bright pink.
“You are going to get us caught, reacting like that,” Akutagawa hummed in amusement. Atsushi’s hands tightened on the strap of his courier bag, slung over his chest, and acting as an anchor. “Pervert.”
Atsushi scowled at Akutagawa. “You’re the one who brought this up.”
“And you’re the one who agreed to it.” Akutagawa tilted his head, still smirking, and slipped his hand into his pocket. Atsushi at least had the split-second warning this time; he leaned his shoulder against the wall and continued to hang on to the strap of his bag, knees squeezed together and a wet spot growing on the inside of his underwear.
When Akutagawa finally cut the vibrator off, Atsushi panted aloud for a few moments before he restrained himself. He looked around and hissed angrily, “if you make me mess my pants in public, I will never forgive you.”
Akutagawa, his back against the same wall that Atsushi was braced against, leaned in close. His breath brushed hot over the shell of Atsushi’s ear. “You’re that close?”
“Yes.”
His eyes glimmered, and Akutagawa smirked all the while. “Excellent.”
=====
It wasn’t a love hotel this time, just a regular old hotel; Atsushi would have thought to comment on the strangeness of that choice, except once the elevator doors closed Akutagawa gave the button a hard press. He watched with some interest as Atsushi shook, palm against the elevator door and mouth hanging open, breathing rapidly. He kindly cut if off once the elevator reached the correct floor, leaving Atsushi to stagger haphazardly out into the hallway, and follow Akutagawa, knees shaking, until they entered the room.
Once Akutagawa locked the door behind them, Atsushi had the courier bag up and over his head. He was halfway out of his pants when Akutagawa turned the vibrator to full intensity. “Fuck,” Atsushi yelled descriptively and managed to make it to the bed, kicking his pants off his legs and flopping on his side, trying to worm his underwear off to get at the vibrator.
Rashomon leapt across the room and wrapped around his midsection, keeping his hand from getting to it. Atsushi swore more and rolled onto his back, hips lifting off the bed and jerking. Akutagawa crossed over to him, eyes locked between his legs as Atsushi’s cock spurted lines of white across his belly and over his rucked-up shirt.
“That was quick,” he admonished and cut the vibrator off.
Atsushi dropped like a sack of potatoes, starfished out and panting loud. “Quick?” he managed when he could put thoughts in order, raising up on one elbow. “We’ve been walking around for hours with you torturing me—” he shuddered as Akutagawa smeared his hand through the sticky fluid on his bare stomach, and Rashomon receded back into his clothing. “Mm, Akutagawa…”
He twitched like a live wire when Akutagawa gently ran his fingers over his softening cock, and whimpered. Atsushi thumped back into the bed, his hand fisted in the front of his shirt while Akutagawa parted his legs and removed the vibrator, tossing it into the covers. He whined at its sudden absence, but his voice cut out when Akutagawa replaced it with three of his fingers, all at once.
“You used the lube, good,” Akutagawa said, hand on the inside of Atsushi’s thigh, where it was wet and sticky. He crooked his fingers and Atsushi’s poor sensitive cock twitched and dribbled some fluid. “You did very good for me today, weretiger. I think you deserve something special.”
He urged Atsushi’s leg up, leaned down and in, and bit the inside of his thigh gently. Atsushi shuddered again, blindly flailing his hand toward Akutagawa’s head. His cock hadn’t even had a chance to go soft yet, and Akutagawa still had his fingers inside, too. “Fuck, what are you—ah, ah—!”
Akutagawa raised his head and licked his lips, watching Atsushi’s chest heave. Atsushi didn’t move at all when Akutagawa released his ley, though he did let out a ragged noise when Akutagawa removed his fingers as well. His head was swimming, warm all over—Akutagawa hadn’t bitten him there before, and it felt like lightning was crawling through his veins. He needed something right now and couldn’t conceptualize what.
He looked up blearily when Akutagawa leaned over him, took him by the chin, and turned his face. “Still with me, weretiger?”
“Mm, yeah.” He was, but he felt so good, drifting slightly.
Akutagawa’s pants were open and loose on his hips, and Atsushi lifted his head enough to watch him stroke his own cock, hand slick with fluid. “Are you gonna fuck me?” Atsushi asked hopefully, and Akutagawa leaned over him again, one hand wrapped around the base of his cock.
“I’m going to fuck you to within an inch of your life,” he said, bracing his hand beside Atsushi’s head. He took Atsushi’s hips in both hands and rubbed his thumb over the bottom ridge of the old scars. Atsushi whimpered again as Akutagawa dragged the head of his cock against his rim.
Akutagawa’s cock was bigger than his fingers. Atsushi’s breath hitched when the head slipped in, and then thumped it back into the bed, back curling as Akutagawa kept going. The pressure was so much more than he thought, and it reached so deep into him he didn’t know if it would ever stop. But then, finally, it did—and Akutagawa withdrew only to immediately thrust and all the oxygen punched out of Atsushi’s lungs with the motion.
He doubled forward, catching Akutagawa by the front of his turtleneck, and panted, “you don’t have to be gentle, I don’t break easy.”
“Oh, weretiger,” Akutagawa’s voice was all rasp, rough and hot. He leaned in and kissed Atsushi, buried deep. “I know.”
Atsushi laughed, utterly breathless, and hung on for dear life as Akutagawa began to move.
=====
Atsushi lay on his side in the covers, drowsing still. He listened to Akutagawa move about the room; he’d felt him get out of bed earlier and heard the shower going, he was clearly preparing to leave and Atsushi still hadn’t gotten himself together enough to even locate his phone.
He dozed lightly, and only stirred when he felt Akutagawa gently brush his hair off his face. “The room is paid for through tomorrow, you don’t have to get up now.” There was a pause, and he said, softly, “March 1st.”
Atsushi blinked blearily at him, and Akutagawa withdrew his hand. He shouldered Atsushi’s courier bag and didn’t look back as he left, the door clicking shut firmly behind him. Atsushi let his head fall back to the pillow, eyes closing. “Stupid,” he muttered as if Akutagawa could still hear him. “Could’ve told me soon, we’d ‘ve had cake…”

Space branding strategies: Branding details at events that makes the difference.
Tumblr media
A consistent and creative digital branding strategy always works for the Brand and never fails to communicate the vision and mission of the venture, but is that all? Here is a take by ‘Bright Pixel’ on the importance and difference it makes in the marketing and branding by designing a branding space.
Space Branding – a wonderful blend!
Space branding is a simple yet perfect blend of Branding, Graphic design, Interior design, at the same time, marketing and advertising. It offers a combination of disciplines for which business strategy, human behavior analysis, or consumer behavior psychology knowledge is needed.
Space branding aims to improve the commercialization experience of businesses’ products or services. As the famous psychologist described, the design of a space or the environment can heavily influence employees and clients; space branding never fails to create a corporate image of your Brand with the powerful assistance of interior designing.
Well-branded corporate space: an excellent asset for your marketing strategy
Space branding is an essential tool in communicating your brand ‘Ethos’ and ‘Identity’ through well-planned and well-curated designed elements at the exhibition location. Space branding helps to convey what your business/ brand is about.
– It develops a Relationship between the Brand and the customer. Through well-curated spaces, brands can give customers and all visitors an understanding of their core values, vision, and mission. More importantly, they develop a good relationship with customers by increasing the remembrance value of the Brand.
– Proudly showcase your logo, brand colours & values. Graphics placed strategically on the walls, pillars, and at critical locations showcases the Company logo and the key messages. If your Brand has multiple locations or different departments within the exhibition, a continuing space branding theme with matching elements can connect the various locations to the single Brand.
-Space branding helps inform, includes, and educates the audience. Space branding helps make the Brand livelier. Modern-day exhibitions focus on attractive designs and satisfying spectators’ experiences. Space branding helps to make it more animated as it communicates the values and culture of the Brand.
Reasons to brand your event space
These are the few most important reasons to include space branding in your marketing and advertising strategy.
– Customer loyalty. Arguably, the primary importance of office branding is giving customers a reason to adapt and accept brand values and ideas. Once they are hooked on the beliefs and values of the Brand, they can be turned into loyal customers.
– Brand Connect Your customers are your best brand ambassadors. If they feel a deep connection with your Brand, they will promote it and your business, almost without thinking about it. Allow your customers to discuss the Brand by displaying quotes, proposed policies, and strategically placed digital screens.
– Brand Identity Another significant advantage of office branding is that it gives you multiple opportunities to reinforce your brand identity. Every time a consumer walks in, he sees your brand logo, values, and other promotional content, which imprints your Brand on his mind.
Bringing it all together
To conclude, alongside the digital presence, offline presence in exhibitions and similar events is equally essential for the look and feel of your Brand. Space branding is a blending of a place with interaction and connection to the community, allowing one to move beyond designing only for function. Such marketing moves will help you attract more audience at the exhibitions, cut through your competition, and positively impact your brand’s remembrance value.
