#Braugust2021 Day 7 sporty or lacey Why isn't both an option?!?  You can like both...and velvet too!  Here's the @mmadalynne #marisbralette made 3 ways.  The black/silver lace doesn't stretch as much, so I altered the sizing, it has a back closure and convertible straps.   It's completely lined with a lightweight black mesh (not powermesh). The Looney Toons one was made to be a little more sporty on purpose, it doesn't have a closure, and has criss cross straps.  The darker looney toons fabric is the same fabric with black mesh over top, the rest is lined with white mesh so it blends in better.  That 3rd velvet one was for fun. My first swimwear. I made my first swimwear recently, this self drafted bikini. After buying some swimwear and having to alter it so much, I thought why not just make some myself! #BRAugust2020 Day 17 knit/lace - Yes I'm posting a day late, but I was too busy yesterday to think about social media. However, Day 17's prompt was perfect fir my new @hari.ito.patterns Epervier bralette. I used a pink knit lace and a yoga spandex swim knit from @znqfabric for tge body. I wasn't dressed up, I just wear a lot of classic clothes that you can wear for any occasion. Lingerie works that way too. You can pick a very traditional or classic patterns, and make it into something else just but changing the color or fabric. #Braugust2021 Day 19 Game changer I picked this tip up from someone else a few years ago.  Sometimes a pattern calls for you to zigzag lining and/or elastic on the edge of a bra cup.  Instead of the possibly weird edge, you can cut that lining piece on the fold to avoid the unfinished edge.  It looks so much nicer this way. #Braugust2021 Day 17 statement piece It's between two, which have both been seen before.  1. The @orangelingerie #esplanadebra in spiderweb mesh. Originally it was made for a Halloween costume, bit I love spiders, so it's gotten lots of use. 2. The peacock #berkeleybra also from Orange Lingerie. Yes, it's still has similar lines when wearing it. No, the fabric is not exactly the same. Mine also has a crisscross back, I'm gonna change the straps though. #Braugust2021 Day 10 swim/active fabric It's no secret that I make my own workout clothes and swim suits on a pretty regular basis.  I live in Southern NJ where we only really have 1 fabric store option @joann_stores , and I'm not big on online shopping (if I've purchased from you online, consider yourself lucky!) But I did find this border-ish active /swim fabric in that one chain store, in two different colors!...and I really like it!  The black will be a swimsuit, the green #clara leggings are soooo comfortable. #Braugust2021 Day 9 design/sketching Ideas for my own creations usually get jotted down on paper, sometimes even on a napkin or the back of a receipt. I try to put them in a journal of some sort, most recently it's this button covered book that someone had given my grandma.  (The random stuff in the house never ceases to amaze me)   This specific idea stemmed from @dainellya wishing her bikini had pockets.  (I didn't forget!!). The next step, if a design needs to be seen by someone other than me, I'll draw up better sketch on my tablet or computer using @sketchbook_app I'm all about the weird paper sketches though. #Braugust2021 Day 5 Most Worn This year's most worn (also most made pattern) is probably @emeralderinsews #blackbeautybra.  The lace one (first slide) is lined with mesh, making it perfect for the super insanely hot summer weather this year.  (Lace from @tailormadeshop, I think, maybe?) The satin one has iron on knit interfacing inside to give it more stability, it most feels like a lightweight scuba fabric now.  The satin was so pretty, but wasn't stable enough for daily wear. (Fabric from @joann_stores) I already own all the @mikosewingpatterns, so if I win this by some crazy luck, please pick someone else who doesn't have them yet.
