Does ANYONE know what happened to The Ancient Magus’ Bride fic, Tethered to Yesterday by Rascally_Lass? I was going to reread it but couldn’t find it on A03. (As far as I know, it was never on Fanfiction.net)

It had all started by accident, really. Brianna had dragged Elias out onto the quidditch pitch one late autumn afternoon, a radiant smile on her face as she explained the wonders of October. Already smitten, Elias could only watch helplessly as his barriers stumbled down further. He noticed the way she shivered, though, and a spike of chivalry rushed through him, compelling him to hand her his Slytherin scarf. The green looked nice next to her red hair, much better than the yellow of Brianna’s Hufflepuff. From that point on, though, Brianna couldn’t help but borrow from Elias’s wardrobe (usually scarves but his jackets were surprisingly comfortable), a habit that increased after their marriage.

Can I get a meet cute for Brilias? I picture it happening a short time after Elias starts at Hogwarts, so he’s fifth year and she’s third. I’m thinking Brianna just comes up to him since “hey, if we’re getting married we might as well talk ¯_(ツ)_/¯”

13-year-old Brianna O’Rourke steeled her strength, as she crossed the hall to where the dark haired boy was starting to climb the stairs. She’d spent a few days observing him, gaining up the courage to finally introduce herself to him. He was handsome, especially when one of those extremely rare smiles graced his face. He was also generally sullen, and Brianna wanted to make him smile.

“Hello, I’m Brianna O’Rourke,” she said.

“Elias Quintin,” he replied, his brow furrowing.

“I’m your fiancée. My father arranged it.”

Elias’s brow furrowed even further. “I was under the impression that it was my fiancée was the older O’Rourke girl.”

“Nope. Orla’s engaged to Cillian Lynch. I hope you’re not too disappointed. But, I thought I’d introduce myself. There’s no way that my father will rescind the engagement. Cillian Lynch’s father is dead and my father is still insisting that Cillian continues to honor the agreement.”

“Oh.” Brianna winced internally. He looked overwhelmed.

“I’m sorry. I tend to ramble when I’m nervous. I’ve tried to stop it, but I’ve never managed to. My brother says it’s obnoxious, but that could just be Tiernan. He’s obnoxious. And I’m rambling again.”

“It’s alright.” The corner of his lip quirked upwards.

“I’m sorry to ambush you like this, but I’d love to get to know you better, since we’re, you know, going to get married at some point. I’d like to know the person I’m going to marry.”

Happy FFWF! Any headcanons for Brianna and Elias?

— While they don’t officially get together until after Brianna graduates from Hogwarts, they do a bit of flirting. Elias isn’t very good at it, but neither is Brianna. Watching them both gives people a headache.

— Elias attempts to write a love poem for Brianna at least once, possibly for Valentine’s Day. He doesn’t think it’s very good, but Brianna keeps it tucked in a book of wizarding poems.

— Neither expected their relationship to turn out the way it did. Elias hadn’t thought that anyone could truly love and he probably became very distant at some point, to protect his heart before it gets broken again. Brianna hadn’t had high hopes for her father’s choices. She wasn’t Cillian Lynch’s biggest fan and thought that her brother’s fiancée was a bit dull.

— Once they had children, Brianna is the one who does most of the discipline. Elias never had the best role model and he was always a bit terrified of saying the wrong thing. Brianna had a better role model and feels more comfortable with discipline. Thankfully, their kids are pretty well behaved.

Day 2: Favorite Ships

For @endlessly-cursed’s Hogwarts Legacy Appreciation Week

Tadhg Lynch and Niamh Kelly are my OG HPHL ship and Tadhg is my most oblivious boy. They’re very sweet. Tadhg fully loves Niamh and is her biggest, most eager supporter. Niamh fully loves Tadhg and is his biggest supporter, helping him to see the better parts of life. They complement each other very well. They also don’t get together until their late twenties, not meeting until 1901.

Cillian Lynch and Orla O’Rourke are a newer ship that has only recently started to be developed. They originally started as a very cold and passionless arranged marriage, but by making Orla an MC, they started to transform. While the coolness remains to some degree, in the Tadhg Lives AU, they finally fall in love and Cillian has no idea what he’s supposed to do about that. His father had always claimed that love weakened a man, so he really didn’t want to be in love. Orla never had those qualms, but waited until he finally admitted it before giving in.

Anthony Rosen and Kit O’Sheeran very much became a thing because of their faceclaims, but they’re very sweet. Anthony is able to see past Kit’s walls and she’s able to see past his walls. They both have something in their past that made it difficult for them to let others in, but they let each other in. They’re soft darlings who are only soft with one another.

William Devlin and Josie Edwards (@slytherindisaster) are just sweethearts. They’re soft introverts who see the best in one another, each struggling with their own family issues. There’s a slight class difference within their relationship as well, as William’s an illegitimate muggleborn and Josie is from a wealthy pureblood family. I like this quote for them:

Maxwell Pembroke and Ivy Anders (@kc-and-co) are soft quidditch nerds, who seem to be opposites attract. He’s introverted, she’s extroverted. He’s tall, she’s small. Brianna O’Rourke and Elias Quintin (@amerrymystery) began as an arranged marriage, but they have a very fun dynamic. They’re both damaged and traumatized, but handle it differently. It makes them complement one another quite well. Plus, the sunshiney damaged one and the broody damaged is such a satisfying dynamic.

Edmund Kennedy and Lottie Gallagher (@slytherindisaster) are a great dynamic. Their trope is best friend’s brother (and sister’s best friend), so it’s quite fun to play with the many ways Minerva would react. Beyond that, though, Lottie is able to bring out more of Edmund’s fun loving side, that existed before the death of his father. They’re just sweet.

Minerva Kennedy and Adonis Demiurgos (@endlessly-cursed) have a dynamic that is very different than my other ships as they are rivals to lovers. It’s very much an academic rivalry, inspired (at least, to me) by the early relationship of Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe. Eventually, though, Minerva comes around and a slow friendship forms that eventually turns to a romantic relationship.

Bonus: The Gryffindorks & The Tadhg Lynch Protection Squad

Without a doubt these are the two best non-familial platonic relationships. Tadhg wouldn’t be the person he is without the friendship of Teddy Ellison (@cursebreakerfarrier), Gabriel Sapieha (@slytherindisaster), Adelia Selwyn (@thatravenpuffwitch), Theo Abbott (@smarti-at-smogwarts), and Roel Leeuwenhoek (@fairywrenn). For nearly two decades, these are the five most important people in Tadhg’s life.

General: 3.) What was their first kiss like?

Their first kiss was awkward and sweet. It took place at some function or other that their parents forced them to attend. They slipped out, to a private secluded spot where no one would be able to find them. They chatted for a while before they finally kissed.

Domestic Life: 2.) What’s the wedding like? Who attends?

Their wedding was not what either of them would have preferred. It was large and intended to impress. It did, but Brianna and Elias would have preferred a simpler, smaller wedding with only those who matter to them in attendance.

Their wedding is attended by anyone and everyone who has wealth and/or power. On Brianna’s side, her sister, Orla, brother-in-law, Cillian, brother, Tiernan Jr., and her father, Tiernan Sr. are in attendance as are most of Elias’s family.

Brianna’s love letters are short and sweet. She knows Elias can get frustrated when he cannot read things, so she tries her best to write things simply and sweet. For some occasions, though, she will write longer and more flowery letters. She always signs her letters with “Yours forever, Brianna.”

Elias‘s love letters are generally short and simple. He usually writes a rough draft before copying it to a clean sheet of paper, then burns the first draft. He will sometimes use flowery prose and language, especially when he wants to show Brianna how much she means to him. He usually signs his letters with a sweet and simple “Love, Elias.”

13.) Who makes a bigger deal of birthdays?

Rowan usually does. She likes having her own birthday, as she was born on a different day than her twin. She also knows that sharing a birthday with three siblings can be a lot and that the O’Donnell quads didn’t have solo birthdays until adulthood.

Therefore, Cara’s first birthday when they’re together, Rowan goes all out in making a celebration just for Cara. She wants to make it special for Cara.
