This little fellow was killed right in front of my very eyes. Hit by a car in the centre of Bristol and ended up on the pavement by the traffic lights outside the hospital. I couldn’t leave him there to rot so I purchased a bag from a shop and brought him home. It’s really frustrating to be classed as a key worker and not being able to go to work to do your bit to help in the battle against Coronavirus. Three months away from my work in funeral service and my work as a chaplaincy volunteer at the BHI. However there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. I was contacted by the chaplaincy asking if I wanted to be part of the chaplaincy outreach programme giving over the phone support to NHS workers in the community? Yes it’s been one of those nights and is already turning into one of those mornings! I was awake at 4.30am with quite a full bladder because they will insist on feeding me water like they force feed corn to geese to fatten their liver! Up and down every five minutes pissing like a race horse. My kidneys have never seen so much action. Then came the blood test, then the blood pressure and then the temperature check! Mind you none of it was in quick succession. Oh no! They’d wait till I was just nodding off again and then they’d wake me up! Why they can’t just do everything on one go I’ll never know? To top it all off I have a thundering headache, my wisdom teeth have decided to play silly buggers and my throat hurts. Honestly anymore of this and I’m in danger of being whisked away in a black bag! The old chap next door still continues to snor like a Concorde engine on overdrive. The temptation to throw things at his bed has been great but I have resisted. I could almost deal with that but when he does wake up he starts singing and will ask the same questions over and over again!! I suppose I will just have to dig a little deeper and find some more patience and tolerance for the time being. After all he’s an old man who is very ill. Nurse Bee Gee is away now until Sunday but considering she’s the one who started stabbing me at 5am this morning I can live with that. I have a chap called Tom looking after me now who is bless him trying to pull off the whole hipster trendy beard look but it just isn’t working for him. Anyway the poo chart is doing the rounds, what joys I have to look forward too. So I will bid you all farewell for now. There will be no Friday vlog this week due to the fact I’m in hospital. There also won’t be a Monday vlog either, which is a real shame as I had two good ones lined up.
