LECTURE 4: INFLUENCES (PART 1): Take a peak at this delightful documentary on RADIO LUXEMBOURG if you get a chance. The fun starts about two minutes into the  documentary, when it recalls the station’s power and influence in Great Britain. The station made a fortune in advertisers, and at times boasted more listeners in Great Britain than the venerable BBC. Radio Luxembourg also played a pivotal role in the lives of the four members of The Beatles. The rest of the segments of this terrific documentary can be found on YouTube.

Stop expecting him to make strategy calls. You’re the ones with the information, you’re the ones with the training. He should be giving input and the engineers should be giving the advice.

For him to think it’s on him that he is not operating as a strategist at the right level is really bloody harsh. Maybe, since he is clearly not an expert strategist, they should be asking him about the strategy a bit less?
