Family

Here’s a little story about my life.

My mom and dad had me at the perfect age of 33,

I guess I got lucky to be raised by parents who are stable with their jobs, right?

Wrong.

That’s what makes this whole shit called family a complete laughingstock.

I remember what my grandmother always told me, to never have kids until you reach the age of 30.

Was she wrong?

Or did she forget to add something more important?

To never have kids with a broken version of yourself.

To never have kids when you’re mentally and emotionally not ready to be a parent.

She shouldn’t have missed out those important parts to my mom and dad when they had me, because I turned out to be exactly the broken version of themselves.

Fell Sans - Smoke

he’s an angy Boi don’t mind him. This is smoke, a fell sans from brokenverse. Unlike most fells he’s actually calmer and nicer to talk to, he still has his fiery attitude so don’t get on his bad side. He’s good friends with dream/Solar and Swap/raindrop, though his connections with ink/paint have been severed after recent events.

Character Sheet: Fragment

Fragment (noun)

/ˈfraɡmənt/

an isolated or incomplete part of something.

Relationships:

Broken- best friend, partner in crime, his follower.

Crack- “mother”, an ally, maybe a friend. precious; keep safe.

Fracture- barely disguised hatred. ex-brother. (he knows fracture as nightmare)

Code- doesn’t know him but doesn’t like him. (he knows code as Cross)

Mustard- a spy. an ally. friend?

Who is Fragment?

Fragment is the Dream of this AU. He first appears just as Nightmare knocked Ink to the ground.

When Dream had found his brother hurting his friend Ink, he immediately and almost uncharacteristically flew into rage and attacked him. This was the last straw for the usually gentle guardian, as his brother had been causing problems for years then. Dream tried his best to avenge his friend, though Nightmare royally kicked Dream’s butt and tore up a good portion of his brother’s soul. Like Ink, Dream was never the same afterwards, and the sheer violence he felt when he saw Nightmare seems to have stayed with him.

Crack, Ink’s good friend, found both Ink and Dream passed out on the ground while taking the kids he was babysitting to the park. He immediately brought them back to his apartment. Dream and Ink woke almost a week later.

Crack had heard about Dream from Ink, about how kindhearted and friendly the small skeleton was, so it was immediately apparent to Crack that Dream was no longer the guardian he once was. Dream showed a very vengeful and downright violent nature, sprinkled with his previous energy, though now it bordered on mania rather than eccentricity. Dream was convinced he had to kill Nightmare to rid the AUs of him, since, to him, Nightmare showed no signs of ever wanting to change. Dream’s full, and rather remarkable, memory of Nightmare pulverizing him and Ink fueled this new obsession.

He knows that launching his revenge on Nightmare will kill him, as the brothers’ lives are connected, meaning if one twin dies the other will too. Dream sees this as a necessary sacrifice for the good of the universe, and is willing to make many more for the sake of “saving” all the AUs. These sacrifices include getting rid of anyone standing in his way, as now nothing means more to Dream than stopping his brother.

He wears his title as a guardian very proudly, believing that his sacrifices will be the ultimate show that he is worthy of that title.

The goop covering half his face obstructs his vision and gets in his mouth, causing coughing fits, which definitely don’t help his voice. Dream’s voice is raspy from overuse and his screaming in his sleep. He’s still a rather small skeleton, standing at a short stature of 4’8. Dream sharpened his teeth himself, and on the weekly makes sure they haven’t dulled down. Dream’s soul is torn and he only has a portion of it still intact. Normally this would make a monster weak, but the gone parts are filled with determination, anger, and a new, strong sense of justice to right the wrong in the universe (in this case, “fix” Nightmare).

Broken, formerly Ink, coined Dream the nickname “Fragment,” reflecting the state of his partitioned soul. Initially Fragment was insulted, but grew to like the nickname after it being used for a few days.

He’s usually seen with a wide, almost grimace-y grin. His grinning can also look like he’s baring his teeth, and the other way around. His old shirt is torn so he wears it as a cloak, almost. Also, most of his cape was destroyed so he remade it into a small hood with orange accents (original Dream did this in his new design). His pin fell off, so he replaced it. His black cloak/cape was made by Crack.

His weapon is still a staff that can turn into a bow or daggers. He’s mostly using the daggers, and he uses the bow for long-distance. He doesn’t use the staff much.

Other:

• Fragment’s a great cook, and everything he makes tastes delicious, though made out of... questionable and mysterious ingredients. Crack banned Fragment from using his kitchen after Fragment fed Broken a muffin using blood instead of milk. Fragment got around this by recruiting Broken’s help to make a mini kitchen in their room.

• Fragment has a collection of stuffed bears that he sleeps with... unfortunately for them, he keeps a knife block on his nightstand in case of intruders, so he ends up slashing the teddy bears in his sleep. The floor around his bed is covered in fluff.

• Speaking of Fragment’s sleeping habits, Fragment thrashes around and screams in his sleep. This is odd, since Fragment doesn’t get nightmares.

• Crack makes Fragment stay locked in their room when he has kids over.

• Somehow, Fragment, who can break out of space-jail and manage to get into security-ridden gated communities, is hoodwinked by the kiddie gates Crack puts around the house to use in his babysitting.

There’s Fragment done! He’s so unlike Dream it’s incredible to imagine that there’s an ending where he’s able to go back to normal. I tried to make him heinous and irredeemable but still thinking he’s doing the just thing, even if he has to go through desperate measures to do what he thinks is right.
