a shrill wailing sound (hal) — google's def of "skirl" is "a shrill wailing sound, especially that of bagpipes" and i fully believe that a stressed hal on board is a shrill wailing sound of bagpipes

ember island toph (ingvar) — what can i say? they have a lot in common. if you never watched atla you should. atla propaganda moment tbh

viking man (thorn) — idk i couldn't draw him seriously despite a half-assed attempt to do so at first, but i think it's funnier this way. please know that i drew him with my finger on my phone in less than two minutes while eating lunch

ulder & wunger — between the two of them, they're 50% gay, but they'll never tell the distribution of gay between them. also i think somewhere in the stern chase ulf literally fancies himself a philosopher lmaoo

anyway i do love having set (well,,, Set) designs for the herons so next time i draw them i can just color pick and use no imagination about them ever again. though i'm not really set on lydia's design tbh. thorn's design is perfect though, i'm never not drawing him like that. oh also flanagan i Refuse to believe that every single one of them are blonde (excluding lydia, the first non blonde woman in the flanaverse)

This was why Ingvar wasn’t the cook, and should therefore listen to the person who was, Edvin informed him. “In any case, it’s too late now. I’ll forgo the stew.”

“Er, sorry about that,” Ingvar admitted guiltily; Edvin nodded in acknowledgment, and ignored him in favour of setting up a grill.

“…This is delicious, Edvin!”

“Thanks. It was supposed to be a stew.”

i based this off of this lovely fabulous insanely Tasty art from this super cool brotherband instagram-er that i stumbled upon so the words are mixed from flonkerton and the op. all credit to op i literally had that tab open staring at it trying to suck their artistic talent into my soul.
