⋆ Starting off with age ranges! I see Akito in the kiddo age range, around 4-6. An age range Mafuyu would be prepared to handle! Training to become a nurse means he needs to be good with kids, I wouldn’t be surprised if his school has brought him to hospitals to do volunteer work to get a feel for things. Plus I think the kid in the Darkness Festa story was around 4? It didn’t give an age but like vibes. Mafuyu ran into a hurt kid and helped patch him up! So he has canon experience with kids

✦ Akito definitely has a tendency to neglect himself and his own needs, and hey guess what? If you don’t take care of yourself you’ll get sick. Pretty frequently. So Mafuyu makes good use of his nurse training! Akito is able to be bribed into taking medicine, and while he despises the idea of resting he can be easily subdued with cartoons or movies. Mafuyu isn’t the best at making cozy at home meals due to his practically nonexistent taste buds, so a lot of the time they end up doing take out! Akito always gets super excited to pick from a kids menu since he’s not in public to be judged, and Mafuyu will place the order as “And my little brother wants-” ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)

⋆ Akito throws tantrums a lot. This boy is such a brat and I won’t be convinced otherwise. Mafuyu doesn’t have much of a tolerance for tantrums though, it’s not gonna make him cave, he’s immune to the puppy dog eyes and the crocodile tears. However he encourages tantrums! With how he was raised he ended up not expressing his emotions because emotions were treated like a crime, especially the negative ones. He doesn’t want Akito going through that. Especially since Akito is already going down the split personality path. Mafuyu will praise him for expressing his emotions in a way that doesn’t hurt anyone, let him cry it out, then they’ll sort things out after

✦ Akito and Mafuyu are honestly scarily similar, and while I love the “Come here Mafuyu-Chan” joke I also kind of hate it because now people only view these two as a meme. They’re so similar! Meaning Mafuyu knows how to read Akito. Really well. Any signs of Akito neglecting himself and Mafuyu’s on it, giving him the care he needs. Forced smiles, expressions, or words can be spotted a mile away. Mafuyu will give one warning of “You don’t need to do that with me. Try again” and if Akito still try’s forcing it Mafuyu can and will put him in timeout

⋆ Mafuyu is an absolutely horrible chef, however the one meal he’s trying to learn to make is pancakes! Akito’s favorite of course! Though it’s difficult to tell if he’s actually improving because no matter what he does, taste tester little Akito always gives the same ever answer “Tastes bad. Try ‘gain” As he proceeds to eat all of them. It’s genuinely impossible to tell if the pancakes were actually bad and Akito just ate them because he won’t let pancakes go to waste, or if he just wanted more pancakes. Most of the actual flavor can be drowned under toppings though! So if Mafuyu actually makes them really bad he’ll just add extra toppings

✦ Sorry to disappoint on this one but I genuinely cannot see Mafuyu using nicknames for Akito. Like not even a shortened “Aki” or “Kito”. Most of the times he won’t even use a name at all, but when he does its just a full “Akito”. On the incredibly rare occasion Mafuyu will call him “My Boy” but that’s only if Akito is to far lost in his own mean thoughts and needs some extra reassurance that someone’s there for him, that someone actually wants him. For Mafuyu Akito tends to use means names like “Freak” “Dummy” “Bully”, but as he gets sleepy and therefore less bratty it shifts into “Fuyu”

⋆ Mafuyu had absolutely no understanding of the Shinonome sibling rivalry, she sees nothing wrong with factually comparing the two. Akito absolutely despises it. Akito can be contentedly drawing and Mafuyu just glanced over his shoulder like “You draw similarly to Ena” and Akito just whines as loudly as he can in complaint, rolling around on the ground with over dramatic retching sounds. He throws a blanket over Mafuyu’s head as punishment and just walks away, because no way is he gonna continue drawing after being told that

✦ Akito thinks that he is absolutely the best at fashion styling, and so of course he dresses up Mafuyu! Especially on days Mafuyu’s feeling yucky and dysphoric. Because hey, your clothes can’t possibly be too girly, a toddler picked them out. Plus Akito’s signature of sorts in his style is the way he layers clothes! And layering clothes can help a lot with dysphoria. So both sides are happy! Akito’s happy he gets to dress Mafuyu up in his style and Mafuyu doesn’t feel responsible for his clothing, allowing him to feel more masculine! Also just about the only way to stop Mafuyu from wearing all black

Big Brother Kaito + Little Brother Akito

✧₊⁺ Starting off with age ranges! So. This is tough for me. Because usually I see Akito as 4-6 and VBS Kaito as 2-5… But this is asking for Akito being the younger one! So I’m gonna shift Akito down to 3-5 and upgrade Kaito all the way up to 5-8! There’s a chance of them still feeling the same age but it’s highly unlikely this way. Luckily my view of Virtual Singers is pretty flexible so I can slide Kaito’s age ranges around like a children’s toy :3

⋆ I think Kaito would like to bake for Akito! Specifically. As I’m sure you can guess. Pancakes. He needs supervision of course, he’s still just a kid in a kitchen. But he can do it mostly by himself! Kind of… Meiko is usually the one to supervise because it is her kitchen after all, even if the two don’t need a caregiver really, when it comes to the kitchen she’s the first one to step in, she doesn’t even need to be asked to. Kaito experiments with putting a bunch of different stuff in the pancakes too! Akito’s favorite is chocolate chips. Also if he accidentally burns some, which is practically inevitable, he always takes them himself! He only gives the best of the best to Akito!

✧₊⁺ Akito is a very bratty and demanding toddler, his caregiver constantly has to remind him of manners and that stuff. Kaito is the worst possible influence. Akito demands to be picked up? Kaito just does it immediately. Akito starts hitting Kaito to be let down rather than using words? Ksmaito doesn’t even comment on it, he just sets Akito down. Anytime a caregiver talks to Kaito about it he’s just like “Aki’s a baby tho’” ˙◠˙ Like how can you yell at the baby? If Akito overhears he starts screaming though because he does not appreciate being called a baby. He’s a whole 4 years old and he’s gonna tell you!

⋆ Soccer! I will never ever ever let go of regressed Akito loving soccer. The headcanon can be pried from my cold dead hands one day. Kaito is more than happy to play with him! He always lets Akito win of course, unless Akito’s feeling a bit bigger, then he’ll win for himself a time or two so that Akito doesn’t get suspicious. He’s also the best nurse ever if Akito gets hurt! He’ll have bandaids at the ready! Akito is overdramatic, but Kaito just plays along! He tells any caregivers that Akito’s dying and needs emergency surgery! It turns into a game of its own and before long the pair are giggling away

✧₊⁺ Akito is a baby that communicates mainly through screaming, but Kaito’s really good at handling it! He immediately drops everything he’s doing so Akito knows that he has the Virtual Singers full attention, then once the initial round of screaming dies off Kaito will just calmly question to find out what’s going on! That’s for negative screaming though. If Akito’s screaming to express positive emotions then Kaito just giggles and starts screaming along with him! Poor caregivers…

⋆ Kaito is very possessive over his ice cream. It’s his! He doesn’t wanna share! But when it’s Akito? That’s ok then! Of course he still rations Akito, it’s just about the only time he restricts Akito with stuff. The Kagamine’s love to taunt Kaito, complaining that Akito gets ice cream and they don’t. But Akito steps in to defend his big bro! Unfortunately his main argument isn’t actually to defend Kaito, he’s just calling himself amazing and claiming he obviously deserves it. The Kagamine’s switch to cooing at Akito and calling him cute, Kaito steps in- The cycle repeats until the two little guys give up and just start screaming to get the attention of a proper caregiver

✧₊⁺ Kaito is really comfortable with his regression! While Akito… Is not. To say the least. Akito will push it off as long as possible. Kaito’s strategy to get his little brother is just to ask Akito to play with him! Akito wouldn’t say no to a little guy right? And anytime Akito does say no he pulls out tricks he’s learned from the baby himself! The crocodile tears start right up and Akito is forced to play before the screaming starts. Akito truly doesn’t stand a chance, Kaito knows what his little baby brother likes, and within a half an hour Akito is chewing on something he found on the floor and babbling away to his big bro! No caregiver is able to understand how Kaito does it

⋆ Anytime these two get into drawing supplies it’s a whole day affair. The cafe is absolutely covered in drawings because they insist on everything being hung up, and nothing can overlap! If it overlaps then that’s covering up their hard work! It makes the kitchen almost completely unusable, something Akito doesn’t seem to understand when he asks for pancakes a few minutes after hanging everything up. Kaito is usually able to satiate the babies demands by sharing ice cream! Which is much easier to get than food that needs actually prepped and cooked
