I just watched Encanto for the first time and here’s my rundown of the Madrigals’ gifts:

Here’s a gift for @ambidextrous-space-samurai of my favorite moment from their fic Benediction // Malediction, which might be one of the most beautiful and heartwarming things I’ve ever read. It’s about Bruno becoming an uncle and holding Isabela on the day she’s born - so many good familial feels.

The image of Bruno making little maracas with infant Isabela’s hands just wouldn’t leave me - I also kept picturing the super plush bed described in Julieta’s room.

A summary: I believe there is repeated proof in the movie that Bruno had stopped using his gift long before he went into hiding.

So when Bruno was explaining to Maribel why he left. He says that Alma begged him to have a vision. As in asking would not have been enough.

We see that Alma (to be clear this isn't abuela Alma slander) has in the past had a Be helpful or step aside Attitude. with what she says to Mirabel. How she acts towards the rest of the family. Even how she treats herself.

I think Bruno either realizing or being told or both that his gift was not helping in any way and that people hated it. That he stopped using his gift. As to be stepping out of the way. His gift was not being helpful so his gift stepped out of the way.

Then when Alma made him have another prophecy he saw how much that prophecy would cause harm. Even more than his previous ones. So when he realized that trying to make his gift step out of the way would not be enough. He stepped out of the way.

I love your dancing Bruno Headcannon. This gave me the idea that Bruno would dance with Dolores when she was little, complete with her standing on his feet. Dolores and Mariano’s wedding, Bruno asks Dolores to dance. Could you just imagine the two of them dancing together?

THIIIIIIS headcanon is everything 😭 💞 Dolores was definitely that kid that loved dancing on peoples’ feet!!

I really feel like he loved the kids and danced with them whenever they asked! Of course as they got older he got more distant but I love the idea of him actually having fun with the kids when they were small, specifically the oldest girls!

I read this message the other day and I couldn’t resist. I’ll probably color these at some point
