what about an Ellie-verse where they have a family day planned but Aaron got home from a case super late the night before and is exhausted but trying to hide it/power through and reader assures him that he’s allowed to be tired and they have a movie day at home instead! I think of the quote where Hotch says he felt like he constantly had to be the perfect Dad and husband because he only had a short amount of time and it makes me so sad for him :-(
rain check
my heart 🥺 cw; girl dad!aaron, fem!reader, established relationship, reader is referred to as mom, hurt to comfort - aaron is self-deprecating per usual, domestic fluff <3 wc; 1.5k
One second, Aaron’s eyes were shut, his head resting comfortably against his pillow as he slept soundly beside you. What felt like the next: Ellie pouncing onto his chest.
He startled, opening his eyes and finding her sweet face. He couldn’t be annoyed, nor could he help the way his heart warmed immediately at the sight of her - how he's missed her the last couple days.
"Hi Daddy."
"Morning El Bel." He mumbled sleepily, "what're you doing?"
"Mommy asked me to quietly check if you're awake." Her tiny brows furrowed, tilting her head to get a better view of him as if she couldn't already tell. "Are you awake?
He chuckled, yawning into his words, "I'm awake."
"Good." She looked pleased. "C'mon it's zoo day!" Her hands landed on his chest, shaking him lightly. "We're gonna see monkeys."
"Really? I think there's already a monkey right here." He teased, tickling her side and releasing a plethora of giggles.
Ellie's talk pulled him out of bed - Elephants. Lions. What's your favorite animal? Jack wants to see the snakes, but they're scary. Mom is packing a lunch so we can have a picnic. She only left at his suggestion she should go help you, specifically, choosing his sandwich for him.
He showered, and nearly fell back asleep in the process, counterintuitive to what he had hoped would wake him up. The stream of warm water hitting his tense muscles relaxed them immensely, melting the stiffness from his shoulders and dulling the edge of his thoughts.
Once he pulled himself out, he got dressed, shaved, going through the motions hazily with a heavy body. The lack of sleep was already giving him a migraine, pulsating behind his eyes.
"Hey," you poked your head into the bathroom. "You almost ready?"
"Yeah, sorry." Aaron nodded, capping the ibuprofen. "Just taking a while to catch my bearings this morning."
Your eyes moved from the medicine bottle to him. It was dark when he climbed into bed, late, and you could vaguely remember the weight of his body settling down beside you, tossing an arm around your middle and scooting close.
And this morning, you had awoken before him, so now you had the opportunity to really look at him. The bags under his eyes - while always there - were more prominent. His eyes lacked their sparkle, drowned by the weight of pure fatigue. You could always tell when he needed a day, and he needed a day.
"Aaron..."
He recognized your concerned tone, immediately waving it off. "I'm fine."
"But-"
"I'm fine, sweetheart." He insisted, placing a kiss on your cheek on his way out. "Don't worry. It's going to be a fun day."
But naturally, you worried.
Any normal day, you would've been out of the house in less than an hour. When initially making the family day plans, the goal was to leave around 10 am. Or in Aaron time - 9:45, and it was already quarter after. Aaron, being Aaron, never deviated from schedule; the tardiness alone would have been enough of a sign that he was off his game, but when paired with everything else, it was quite damning.
As Jack - the ever helpful big brother - helped Ellie tie her shoes, you cornered your husband in the kitchen, watching him pour an extra large cup of coffee.
"Why don't we take a rain check?"
"Hm?"
"It's going to rain." You lied bluntly and badly, the fib so undeniably obvious.
"No it's not." Aaron laughed gently, his eyebrows quirking lightly in confusion. "I checked this morning. The radar is perfectly clear."
"Aaron, you're exhausted," you stated the obvious, sympathetically. "Do you really want to be on your feet all day long? And how's that headache of yours?"
Silence was his answer, screwing the to-go lid shut slowly. His tired eyes found yours, defeated. "Ellie's been looking forward to this. As has Jack."
Moving in front of him, your hands found his shoulders, offering his rigid muscles a soothing squeeze. "We can do something fun here. The zoo isn't going anywhere."
Dropping his head, he huffed a laugh, a rather disappointed-in-himself one at that. "Yeah, but I am."
Your brows crinkled in confusion. "What?"
"Any second, my phone could ring and I'm gone again." He said, his eyes rolling ever so slightly. "It's best to take advantage of what we can do when I'm here. And I am. What if the next time, it does rain?"
"Then we accommodate again." You solved easily, bringing a hand to his cheek. "Listen to your body Aar. Taking a day off isn't going to make you any less than a father. It's okay."
"And what, give them another reason to be disappointed in me?"
You frowned, "you know that's not true."
"I'm sorry." He sighed with a head shake. He did, but still gently admitted under his breath. "But that's how I feel."
"I know honey, and I wish you didn't. You don't give yourself enough credit." Your thumb stroked his skin sadly, releasing a breath from your nose. "They'll understand."
His gaze moved off to the side, unconvinced. "I don't know-"
"Are we going now?" Jack's voice entered the kitchen. Ellie was at his side - her tiny backpack on and ready to go.
You shared a quick look with Aaron, whose jaw was tight, an unhappy expression plastered on his face. "I'm not sure, you two. Dad's not feeling well today."
Ellie's eyebrows dropped in concern. While their resemblance was always uncanny, she looked like a miniature version of her father in this moment especially. "Are you sick?"
Aaron remained silent, biting down onto his lip, so you answered for him again. "He is a little bit, yeah. Would it be okay if we went to the zoo another time?"
"Yeah, we can always go to the zoo," Jack nodded with zero hesitation. "But what about the picnic we packed?"
"We can have it here." You mussed his hair gently. "Right in the living room, how about that?"
"Really?" Ellie's eyes widened. "A picnic inside the house? We can do that?"
"Yeah, it'll be fun." You crouched down to her level next, offering her a grin. "We can watch movies, play some games, and let Dad get some rest."
"Cool, I'll go see what we have." Jack hurried out and down the hall, beelining for the playroom.
"I'm sorry you're sick Daddy." Ellie consoled, wrapping her tiny arms around his legs and peering up at him. "We can see monkeys another time when you're all better."
His eyes softened, his scowl turning into a smaller pout. "Thanks El, I appreciate that."
She gave him a bright smile before running after her brother, pigtails bouncing atop her head.
Your eyes found his as a small smile tugged at the ends of your lips, conveying without words the reassurance you knew Aaron needed- they love you. His expression, while not entirely convinced, was more hopeful. He pulled you close by a belt loop on your jeans, wrapping his arms around you.
After selecting a few games and movies, Jack helped you set a picnic blanket on the carpet. Meanwhile, Ellie dragged every - literally every - stuffed animal she could find to the living room, creating a makeshift zoo just for Aaron. If he's sick, she'll bring the zoo to him.
You didn't say it aloud in front of the kids, but you watched his demeanor change. As if this healed something in him.
While he didn't verbalize it as often anymore, the weight of leaving home was something he held quietly in his chest - the dire need to be perfect with such a limited time. To go above and beyond for the kids to make sure they were happy, loved, and knew they were everything to him.
You witnessed it every time he left for a case; the instant dread that overtook him whenever his phone rang, the solemn expression on his face as he gave them hugs goodbye, the dismal tone in his voice over the phone during bedtime check ins. As if he were awaiting that one day he returned and they realized what a neglectful father he was.
While you reassured him, and he appreciated your reassurances, there was always the little voice in his head telling him not to get too comfortable. If he grew complacent, the life he loved could once again slip through his fingers.
But now, with the plans falling short, Jack and Ellie didn't display any remorse or sadness, only the care, concern, and empathy for their father you together have taught them.
He didn't need to be on all the time. Quality time was quality time no matter the plans. And, making sure Dad was okay was more important than anything else.
"Do you think Dad's feeling better?" Jack's voice pulled your focus, looking up at you from his spot on the carpet. The second movie of the day was playing on the screen.
You glanced over at Aaron, who was fast asleep on the couch - head leaning back against the cushion, his feet crossed as they rested on the coffee table in front of him. Ellie was nestled into his side, her eyes trying their hardest to stay awake and follow the movie, but ultimately failing.
"Yeah, I think he is." You gave Jack a smile, holding your arms out; he didn’t hesitate to scramble up and join you. "This is exactly what he needed."

When Grian enters the doorway of Scar’s base, he finds the man digging around in his chests, mumbling to himself. It’s a sight he’s walked in on multiple times before in the past, a scene that settles in Grian’s chest and leaves a sense of domesticity blanketing him. He watches for a few moments, if only to exist in the same space as the man he’s so terribly missed. Everyone had been gathered at spawn for the grand reveal of the object that’d allow for them to keep their inventories, and Grian had been so focused on it that he didn’t have the opportunity to give Scar a proper hello.
Hence why when the group split off to prep themselves for what will most certainly be a grueling fight with the ender dragon, Grian’s first stop is Scar. He himself doesn’t need to do that much prepping, already loaded with food, a water bucket, and a bow. He’s got a few potions on hand as well.
So in the doorway he stands, watching Scar with a pleased smile. His wings twitch behind him, wanting to wrap the man up in warm feathers and drag him back to his nest for some long overdue snuggles. Later, he reminds his bird brain. Instead, he allows himself a soft trill, the sound instantly making Scar pause in his movements.
Lifting his head up and turning around, forest green meets chocolate brown, and Scar’s face breaks out into a wide grin. “I was beginning to wonder if I’d get a little visit from my favorite bird,” he muses, prompting Grian to enter his base.
“Sorry for the wait then,” Grian returns, coming over to him. He checks Scar over, nodding in approval when he sees him fully decked out in diamond armor. If they had more time he might’ve been able to help Scar with enchantments, if only to keep him a bit more protected. But this is just as good—certainly an upgrade from the iron helmet.
Fully aware of Grian’s staring, Scar’s grin turns into a sly smirk. “Like what you see?” he hums, flexing an arm.
Grian laughs at him, moving to brush his hands over the shoulders of Scar’s chest plate. “It’s adequate.” It’s his turn to grin as he revives the old joke, earning a pout from Scar.
“Never gonna let me live that down, huh?” Scar murmurs, chuckling. “Should I shine it then? Make it really sparkle,” the vex hums in thought.
Pretending to think about it, Grian tilts his head. “Hm, it’s already plenty shiny. Any shinier and I might get distracted during the fight.” His hands drop down to Scar’s chest, remaining there.
Scar looks at him, still pouting. “You mean the handsome man wearing the armor won’t distract you?” There’s almost an edge of a whine in his voice as he replies, one that amuses Grian greatly.
“Oh he will,” he returns, wings curling around them, keeping them both in a feathery shield. “It’s been a while since he’s been around to distract me.” There’s a twinge of raw honesty in what Grian says, the ache of yearning sitting in his chest as he looks up at Scar.
A warm palm settles against Grian’s cheek, thumb running over his skin. Scar’s expression softens, eyes filling with the same yearning, the same depth of affection. “I guess we’ll be even then,” he speaks quietly, “because there’s a certain pretty bird that happens to be very distracting for me.”
Grian preens, a pleased coo sounding from him. He leans up to bump their noses together, pressing his forehead right against Scar’s. Scar chuckles, his other arm finding a place around his waist to pull Grian in closer. “We’re both going to end up being late to meet back up with the others,” Grian idly points out, although he makes no effort to pull away or move.
“I think making them wait an extra minute or two won’t hurt.” Scar smiles devilishly in that way of his that makes Grian huff. “Besides, you were the one who came to see me! Didn’t even give me the chance to pop in on you.” He’s teasing. “Did you miss me that much, G?”
Yes. “No,” Grian denies, “I wanted to make sure you had proper gear.”
Scar hums, though he doesn’t appear to believe Grian’s little fib a single bit. “‘course I do! I had a whole stack of diamonds just sitting around collecting dust.” He gives Grian’s waist a loving squeeze. “It’s a miracle I didn’t die while trying to make this armor.”
Grian laughs at that with a fond shake of his head. “There’s still time,” he jokes, earning a beautiful laugh from the man, one that makes his heart soar. His hand tangles itself in Scar’s hair to tug him down, and Scar is more than happy to follow through. Their lips press together in a warm kiss, one they’ve both been waiting for since Grian stood in his doorway. Grian’s body relaxes at the feeling of Scar’s lips on his own, moving in a rhythm that leaks with affection and longing. Scar is warm and soft but still so familiar and comforting; for a moment Grian thinks that all of the frustration of this world might’ve been worth it if he got to kiss Scar like this. It feels like waking up together, like crafting side by side, like falling against one another after a long exhausting day.
It feels like home.
A muffled bird noise spills from Grian’s throat, probably one of contentment that makes Scar laugh against his lips.
“I missed you too, G,” Scar sweetly confesses, pulling back just enough to look at him. Their breaths mix together, foreheads still touching.
Knowing that he never bothered to hide his true reason for coming to Scar, Grian looks up at him with a pout. “Next time you decide to take an extended mining trip, I’m coming with you,” he decides, because weeks without Scar while surrounded by endless sources of frustration was, simply put, hell. Having the rest of his flock nearby made it a little bit easier, but it did little to lessen the yearning. “The nest was too cold,” Grian quietly admits, voice just slightly above a whisper.
If possible, Scar’s expression only softens further, and he’s kissing Grian again. “Well we can’t have a cold nest, can we?” he hums, looking at Grian with a smile. “It’s against avian law, after all!”
Grian snorts with laughter, moving to pull Scar into a hug. “I don’t think the Poe Poe would be very happy about you breaking avian law.”
Scar tucks Grian against him, pressing his lips to the avian’s head. “A cold nest is more than enough to make me a wanted criminal!” he cries.
“Guess the only way to fix that is a warm nest and morning cuddles.”
“An amayzin’ idea there, G.”
“Oi!” Joel sticks his head into the doorway of Scar’s base. His sudden appearance startles the two, making Grian’s feathers fluff up when he looks over at Joel. “Quit your snogging and let’s go fight the dragon already!” he exclaims, impatience lacing his words. Turning around, he calls out, “You owe me five diamonds Jim!”
Jimmy yells something in reply, but Grian doesn’t care to hear it. He looks back at Scar, who’s snickering. “Guess that’s our cue.”
Scar wildly grins, “Let’s go show this dragon who’s boss.”

It’s been weeks since you and Kento have had a moment alone. Ever since becoming full-fledged sorcerers, it’s just been mission after mission. If it’s not missions, it’s training. And if it’s not training, it’s Gojo always hanging off one of you.
It goes without saying, you two were becoming quite pent up. Even just trying to have a moment alone to kiss and unwind was becoming difficult. Most nights, you two settled into your new shared apartment and just ate and went to bed. While you cuddled the whole night through, it was becoming just not enough. You two craved more than just cuddling. You needed affection, kisses and needy intimacy.
Tumblr media
So the next time you both knew you had the day off, Kento figured out the perfect way to get Gojo to leave you both alone. He lied effectively about a mission you two were supposed to go on.
“I didn’t hear about this,” Gojo says, his tone accusative.
“That’s because you’re not involved.” You come to Kento’s defense. “It’s just for him and I.”
Gojo frowns, but then he laughs and ruffles both of your hair. He leaves you both, which makes you so proud of Kento’s little fib. It was the perfect way to get your senpai to leave you both alone for the whole afternoon.
After you both get dropped off in the city, Kento takes your hand and leads you down a few dark, damp alleyways. Then you emerge in another part of the city. The lights are a bit more neon, the people look a little stranger and you cling to Kento a little more. He ushers you towards a very dimly lit building.
Inside the building, you realize it’s a hotel of sorts. Kento walks you over to one of the machines and he presses a button. There are photos of rooms showcased on the touchscreen. He scrolls through some of them, then turns to you.
“Which one do you prefer?” He asks you, seeing your cheeks turn pink.
All the rooms seem to have such a kinky vibe to them. Some of them have poles in the middle of the room, one of them has a stage in it, and one of them looks like some sort of wild sex dungeon. Finally one catches your eye. It’s the one with a heart-shaped bed, a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a mirror on the ceiling.
“This one,” you tap the screen and select it.
Kento smirks playfully and then he enters his bank card into the machine. He discretely pays for the room and grabs his receipt; the only proof that either of you have even been here.
The ride up to the room is a little tense. But only because you both were so excited to finally have some alone time together. Kento mentions that he paid extra for an overnight stay in the room. He kisses your temple, whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
He unlocks the door to your room with the keycard, and then you both enter. The room is bathed in a red-pink glow from the lights, and it accentuates the décor in here. The floor is a white and gray marble color, with a plush white shag carpet near the heart-shaped bed. The sheets are silky pink and blush red satin, just asking to be rolled around in.
Your eyes widen as you take in the sight of the very reflective mirror on the ceiling. Kento closes the door behind you both, ushering you inside gently. You notice that there is a small kitchenette area close to the door of the bathroom. Walking around, you take in more of the room.
A large flatscreen TV sits in front of the bed, and there’s also a very comfortable looking white loveseat that’s nearby for watching movies or any other activities. You make your way over to the minibar and look inside the mini fridge.
“Make yourself comfortable,” Kento says as he approaches you. “We could try out the jacuzzi first.”
You grab two beers from the fridge and you follow your lover into the bathroom. It’s all pink tiles in here with more of the same red-pink lighting. Even the jacuzzi is heart-shaped, which makes you snort. Kento laughs with you as well. Then he turns on the shower, giving you both a moment to be able to rinse off before you get into the tub.
With both of you rinsed off and your beers opened, Kento helps you into the now filled heart-shaped tub. He turns on the jets, making you moan as they begin to hit your sore muscles.
“This is too nice,” you comment as you rest your head on Kento’s shoulder.
Kento chuckles and sips his beer, “We needed this, honey.”
Both of you sigh happily as you rest in the warm water. The jets work their magic on muscles, loosening you both up. The beer makes you both feel a little more aroused than usual. Kento leans over and he kisses your lips softly, tentatively at first.
Soon you’re leaning in as well, your lips melding with his. He places his beer on the edge of the tub, his free hand coming to cup your chin. It’s not long before you’re adjusting your position so that you’re facing him almost directly. Your thighs open just a bit to allow him to get even closer to you.
That’s when you feel it. The jet hits your thigh and you squeal against his lips. Kento pulls away, a concerned look on his face. You laugh softly, taking a sip of your beer to calm your nerves.
“The jets,” you say. “I bet they could feel really good.”
Kento’s eyes widen and his cheeks redden. He then helps you get into a good position so that the jets are focused on your crotch. One of his hands reaches down to begin rubbing your clit. He presses kisses to your neck, biting and nipping softly.
“How’s this feeling, honey?” He asks you, kissing your neck.
You let out a moan as the jets begin to thrum against your clit, “Fuck, it feels amazing.”
He helps keep your legs spread as the jets work their magic on your swollen nub. The pleasure keeps building more and more, making your whole body shudder. You try to warn Kento that you’re about to cum, but all that comes out is pathetic little whimpers and moans.
“That’s it,” Kento coaxes you, “Cum for me.”
His hands come up to begin kneading your breasts. That’s all it takes for you to come undone. He tugs at your hardened nipples, prolonging the pleasure even more. You cry out his name as the pleasure washes over you; the tightening sensation in your lower abdomen finally releasing as your orgasm hits you hard. The jets continue to thrum against your clit, and that coupled with Nanami’s able fingers has you squirming from the overstimulation.
Finally, he brings you to sit on his lap and he holds you to his chest. Slowly, your breathing begins to normal out. Kento presses soft kisses to your temple and then all down your neck. He then leans in close to whisper in your ear.
“You looked so fucking sexy cumming like that,”
His words make your heart skip a beat. You turn to face him and your lips meet in such a sensual kiss. His hands feel so good on your skin; he caresses you so sweetly. To Kento, you are the most precious thing in this world.
“Come on, let’s go try out the bed.”
He helps you out of the jacuzzi and pulls the plug to let it drain. He grabs the soft, fluffy towels to help you both dry off and then you both slide into the complementary silk robes hanging on the wall. His hand finds yours and he guides you back to the bedroom.
You settle on the bed, looking around the room once more. Kento heads to the minibar and he finds a bottle of champagne. You watch as he uncorks it, and he pours it into two flutes. He comes over to the bed and passes one of them to you. You toast to your relationship and the amazing lie your boyfriend thought up so you two could have this amazing night together.
Kento sits on the bed with you, drinking champagne with you. You two share soft, sweet kisses and chat lightly. There’s no real pressure between you two. It’s just a peaceful time. It’s rare to have this time together and you want to soak it all in and savor it.
Eventually, after a few flutes of champagne, you start to feel needy again. Kento found a channel on the TV that just plays music, and it’s playing some of your favorite songs. Soon you feel him pushing you to lie back onto the bed. He unties the knot of your robe and strips you. Then he takes off his robe, and pulls the covers up over you both.
For a few minutes, the two of you are just making out. Soft kisses turn into more teeth clashing and tongues fighting for dominance. Your legs spread around him, wrapping around his broad frame to pull him in even closer. His hands soothe down your body, stopping only to tug on your nipples. Then one of his hands slips between the two of you, rubbing your clit slowly.
You pant as his fingers work your swollen clit, making your body heat up so quickly. You’re pulling him in for another sloppy kiss; your fingers are buried in his hair and tugging softly. Kento’s cock throbs and twitches to life.
“Shit,” he sighs. “I forgot to bring condoms.”
You swallow hard. While you had gone on birth control for other purposes, you and Kento had decided to use condoms while having sex. It was just a means to be even more responsible. You hadn’t brought condoms with you either.
“It’s okay,” you kiss him. “Let’s do it anyway.”
Kento feels like he could faint from your words. He’s been dreaming of the day he could finally slip into your pussy raw. He never wanted to pressure you into doing anything you weren’t comfortable with, and he always used condoms that felt basically like being inside of you raw, but nothing could even come close to that feeling.
“R-really?” Kento asks, his cheeks and the tops of his ears are pink.
You nod your head. “Yeah, I want to.”
Kento reaches between you, grasping his cock. He’s practically shaking with excitement. He slides the tip between your soaked folds, making you whine and beg for him. Then he brings it to your dripping entrance, pushing in slowly.
“Oh fuck,” Kento whines.
Inch by inch, he enters your warm cunt. It’s so snug and wet and he’s not sure how long he can last like this. He’s panting like a dog in heat as he continues to slide into you until he’s bottomed out. You watch as his eyes cross from the intense pleasure and he slumps against you.
“Too fucking good.”
You gently rub his back, soothing him from the intense pleasure. You have to admit it’s intense for you too, and you never thought it could feel like this. Eventually, Kento pulls himself up and begins rocking his hips. His large hands rest on your hips, pulling you in with every thrust of his hips.
“You feel so good,” Kento grunts. “So fucking good. So warm and wet.”
He leans in to kiss you hungrily. Your tongues roll together as he fucks into you a little faster. When you pull away from the kiss, you look up. This is when you notice the mirror that’s right on top of the bed. You thought you’d be so insecure about watching yourself have sex with your boyfriend, but seeing just how sensual it is, you find yourself even more turned on than before.
The way Kento’s back muscles flex as he fucks you harder just makes you see your man in such a different way. He’s gorgeous when he fucks you like this, but what surprises you is the way you like your own reactions in the mirror. It turns you on and arouses you to see yourself in the throes of pleasure.
“Like seeing yourself like this?” Kento asks in a breathy tone. He looks up behind him, seeing you both in the mirror. “Does it turn you on to watch me fucking you?”
You nod your head, your mind practically blank from being fucked so good and being so aroused. Kento chuckles softly before he pushes your legs to your chest. He’s much deeper in this position, and his cock is hitting your sweet spot dead on this way.
“Cum for me,” he whines. “Need to feel you cumming on my cock.”
He leans down just a bit to spit on your already wet clit, rubbing it in with his thumb. The steady rhythm of his cock inside of you was pushing you closer to that sweet release. The muscles in your groin begin to tense up once more, signaling just how close you are to cumming.
“Ken,” you whimper. “I’m so close.”
He kisses you. “Let go for me,”
He lightly pinches your swollen nub and that’s what pushes you over the edge. Your nails dig into the muscles in his back, dragging down as your walls begin to pulsate around him. Kento’s face is buried in the crook of your neck as he feels his own release becoming imminent.
“I’m cumming,” he whines. “C-can I cum inside?”
“Yes, please!”
He doesn’t need to hear more before his hips stutter. Your eyes flutter back and forth from him and to the mirror above you as you watch your boyfriend go through exhilarating pleasure. His moans are desperate and animalistic all at once as he spurts thick ropes of cum deep inside your still-convulsing pussy.
Once he comes down from his orgasm, he slumps against you again. This time his mouth finds one of your nipples, suckling softly. He huffs a little when you begin to run your fingers through his hair.
“I love you,” you pressed a kiss to his forehead.
He looks up at you, “I love you too.”
Neither one of you will regret lying to Gojo about this night.

Call Out Doom! Aika Has a Sleepover!
Fandom: Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl
Rating: PG for swearing
Summary: Akia and Zira have a sleepover. Evil has other ideas.
Word Count: 2500
Notes: This is for @kianamaiart's amazing new project! The idea came from @shroudtailor in an ask. Sorry for stealing it, but I just fell in love with the idea. Also this might be wildly OOC considering the pilot isn't out yet, but I hope you'll enjoy it anyway!
“You could tell me how accurate it is! Wouldn’t that be fun?”
No, that would be the last thing I’d find ‘fun’ Aika thought, but when faced with Zira’s excitement all that she could actually say was, “Sure. Does Thursday work for you? We’ve got a Pro-D day on Friday so we’ll have some extra time.”
“That would be awesome!” Zira cried, vibrating with excitement. “I just gotta check with my Mom, okay? I’ll get back to you by the end of the day! She doesn’t answer my texts at work.”
Aika did her best to hide her wince at that. It was going to be a loooooooong weekend.
*
19:00
Zira’s house
“Thanks so much for coming, Aika! I hope you don’t mind that we’re watching it in the basement. It’s all set up for Dad to have his football buddies over, so at least it’s comfortable. It’s a bit away from the bathroom and kitchen, but we’ll have privacy. If we were in the living room Mom and Dad would be… well… they phrase it as it’s my house and I can go where I want and I guess they aren’t wrong but also, like, I don’t wanna hang out with them today? They’re my parents, they’re embarrassing, and they don’t even like Moon Sailor so I don’t know why they’d wanna watch anyway…”
“Sound like my kinda people.” Aika muttered under her breath as she followed Zira down the stairs.
“What was that?” Zira asked, turning almost completely around on the stairs in a way that made Aika reflexively reach for them, her training shining through like it always did.
“I said it’s their loss.” She fibbed, basking in the way Zira’s face lit up at that.
“It is.” They agreed. “But that’s okay. I can share it with you now!”
Aika melted at that, her trepidations about the plan leaving her as her resolve hardened. It was just an anime. She reminded herself. If Zira likes it this much, how bad can it really be?
*
19:23
Zira’s House
“Don’t touch that cat!” Aika yelled at the screen, stuffing popcorn in her mouth. “That cat is bad news! Walk on by, girlie!”
“That would make for a very short show.” Zira replied wryly, sitting primly on the edge of the couch to avoid Aika’s animated limbs.
“It would make for a very happy show.” Aika insisted, inspecting her next handful of popcorn critically. Zira had no idea what she was looking for, but it appeared she found it as she stuffed that one in her mouth as well.
“Then it would just be a show about her failing her math test. Who’d watch that?”
“Excuse you, Azumanga Daioh is amazing.”
*
20:52
Zira’s House
“Dooooooooooon’t. Don’t do that. Just don’t.” Aika was hiding behind her hands like she was expecting a jumpscare. Zira shifted towards her in concern. The mist and the computers were a little creepy, but this still wasn’t really a scary episode. For someone who fought for real at times, Aika was being a bit of a baby about this.
“Don’t just declare her your friend, you only just met her.” She continued, her voice so soft Zira had to strain to hear it. The main girl embraced her new teammate, and Aika hid behind her hands with a squeak.
You’d have thought it was Jason with his chainsaw, the way she was acting.
*
22:22
Zira’s House
“Have you ever been on a cruise ship?” Zira asked, curious about the way Aika was scoffing.
“No. But do you hear those two? Ridiculous! She should have taken her night off and let her so-called friends deal with this nonsense. A long bubble bath would be way better than fighting a sea monster, and they said they didn’t want her there!”
*
22:45
Zira’s House
“Wait, they actually have character deaths in this show? I thought it was for kids!”
“... He’s a bad guy.”
“Still.”
*
00:39
Zira’s House
“She’s so stupid. So stupid. Why is everyone so stupid?”
“She’s in love.” Zira replied softly, taking some offence at Aika’s sarcasm for the first time.
“She’s still better than that. She can’t be making mistakes like this. Not this late in the game. Not with this much riding on them… And not when it’s so obviously a trap. Be honest, Zira, don’t you think you’d hesitate on the One True Love thing if it turned out they were flirting with every girl in town? Don’t you think she deserves better than a love like that?”
Zira paused, then nodded. It caused Aika to tug slightly on their hair from where she was styling it into two buns (“So we’ll match!). Aika let go then, and her voice dropped even softer. “She deserves her own future. Not just what everyone says fate has in store for her.
Zira didn’t know how to answer that, so she just laid her head on Aika’s knee in comfort.
*
03;17
Zira’s House
“Zira… I’m sorry to say this but I need to go to sleep.” Aika had curled up against the arm of the sofa almost two episodes ago, and now she was starting to do that jerk-startle thing that made it clear sleep was imminent.
Zira pouted. They couldn’t help it! This had been… This had been nice, even if Aika did take everything the characters did a bit personally. Halfway through the second villain arc she’d actually developed some sort of rubric and was giving all of the main characters scores like they were figure skaters and Zira had laughed so hard at some of her commentary that their sides still hurt.
They just… Didn’t want this to end.
Aika jerked awake again and Zira nodded, acknowledging that her friend-they were friends-was at the end of her rope.
“Alright. Pop up for a moment. The couch pulls out.”
Aika groaned dramatically and flopped herself over the arm of the sofa, landing in an undignified heap on the floor. Zira couldn’t help smirking at that, especially since it was so obviously on purpose. “‘S all yours.” She slurred with a slight wave. “Have at.”
Zira laughed again, then quickly set up the bed. As fast as it had been, Aika had still almost passed out on the floor. Zira had needed to help her up and tuck her in.
“Not much of a teenager sleepover.” She teased, though truth be told all of their information on sleepovers was theoretical. “I thought we’d aim for sunrise.”
Aika snorted. “Past m’bedtime. By… lotttttttttt… Hoshi g’n’a fight ‘bout it. “Mind me a… smother…” The last word trailed off in a soft exhale as she passed fully out, a surprisingly loud snore her next noise.
Zira tamped down on the wild urge to coo about it and instead got herself into the other side of the bed. They’d switched to pjs shortly after midnight with this in mind. And, as much fun as it was to tease Aika, she was also fading fast.
Between one breath and the next, darkness came.
*
06:23
Zira’s House
“Hmmm? Whazzat?” Zira muttered, a strange noise pulling them from sleep.
“Don’t worry about it.” A soft, familiar voice replied and Zira smiled. “It’s just the star shard.”
Zira hummed and fell back asleep.
*
10:03
Zira’s House
Zira was awoken suddenly by a loud thump. She shot up in alarm, only to blink dazedly at Aika. Aika, who was wearing her work uniform. Aika, who was staring at the floor in confusion as she tried to figure out why she was lying on it.
Zira blinked and went with the obvious question. “Are you alright?”
Aika turned her gaze up, then grinned when she saw Zira. “Oh good. Right basement this time.”
Zira turned that over in her mind for a moment before disregarding it. That wasn’t a question they needed answered right now.
“Do you need a hand?”
Aika waved her own around. “Got TWO!” She proudly announced, followed by a pitiful, “Owwwwwwie,” as she brained herself with her own staff.
“Have you been…” Zira hesitated, not quite knowing how to phrase this. “Out?”
“Growth ray got tested on a Chiuaua.” She confirmed, flopping down onto the floor. “Didn’t want to hurt the dude, ‘s not his fault, but the downtown was a mess. During rush hour too!”
Zira nodded, not quite sure how else to acknowledge that. “So… you definitely need a nap. Did you want breakfast first? Mom got this whole Dutch… thing for us to have. There’s bread and like four types of cheese and these weird chocolate sprinkles. Her uni roommate used to feed it to her on the weekend.”
Aika shook her head petulantly. “Nooooooooo. We had a… a plan. To watch the thing. Your thing. With the magic girls. I’m fine. I’ve had like… four redbulls. They’ll kick in in a moment.”
“Aika… You’re in no shape to watch Moon Sailor right now. You won’t even be able to pay attention.” They got out of bed and stretched. “Besides, I’m hungry. I’m gonna go grab us breakfast, kay? Just wait here.”
Aika gave her a thumbs up and a grin that held just an edge of mania to it as Zira passed… and was expectedly asleep on the floor upon return. Zira shook her head and hoisted her friend back onto the bed. Aika’s transformation had faded as soon as her conscience did, and Zira made sure to place the star shard carefully on the side table where Aika could see it as soon as she woke up.
It was precious, after all. It was what allowed Aika to transform.
*
15:37
Corner Store Near Zira’s House
“I’ve told you like a dozen times that you don’t need to apologize.” Zira insisted, snagging some gummy worms off the display. “Now pick a candy so we can go look at whatever dubious cheeses they have paired with the pepperoni over there.”
“For now.” Aika replied glumly. She perked up afterwards, but Zira could tell it was just a mask. Those words turned themselves over and over in her mind, but she put that away as well.
For now she would honour Aika’s unspoken plea and match her energy. They still had a whole weekend together. There was no sense in ruining it now.
*
16:53
Zira’s House
“Don’t eat too many of those pep ‘n’ cheds.” Zira warned. “Dad’s doing a BBQ tonight. You’re gonna want room for burgers.”
Aika stared critically at the snack in her hand, completely ignoring the show in the background. “I’m not sure if I’m tasting the cheese or just the spices from the pepperoni. I’ll have to give Monterey Jack another try some other time, I think.”
“Sounds like a plan.” They replied, tuning back in to the show just in time to watch two of the heroes make utter fools of themselves in front of a guy who already had a girlfriend. She winced. Aika probably had the better idea.
*
21:33
Zira’s House
“Thanks for being such a good sport about that.” Zira commented softly, eyes boring holes into the second fake male lead in as many days. “They… ah… have been worried. About the no friends thing. So they’re… A bit overdoing it. Thanks for not making it weird.”
Aika laughed, followed by one of the groans she’d been periodically letting out since her fourth burger. It had not stopped her from having a fifth. “Dude, don’t even worry about it. Your Mom brought seven types of cheese home with her. Seven. Then made a cheese platter while your Dad was cooking! I’m just glad I didn’t make it weird myself by asking to be adopted on the spot!”
Zira laughed at that, ignoring how weird an adoption would make… things. “I’m pretty sure you’d want to go home eventually. Their overwhelming parentness really starts to grate after a few days.”
Aika hummed, sounding unconvinced. “Why do people keep falling for the fake dude? Can’t any of these airheads tell it isn’t him?”
Zira let herself be distracted, as ready as Aika to drop the subject.
*
21:43
Zira’s House
“He fell for the fake too?? Never mind, those dumbasses deserve each other!”
*
23:58
Zira’s House
“They enrolled in Princess school?!? How do they keep getting dumber every episode? That’s it, they all fail this episode. All of them. And what sort of Finishing School teaches frisbee anyway??”
*
02:07
Zira’s House
“SHIT! Shit, don’t panic!” Aika sprang from the couch in a manner that completely belied the way she had been dozing mere seconds previous. Her star shard was pulsing and vibrating in a way she knew very well, but had been hoping wouldn’t happen for at least a few days (forever).
“Again?” Zira asked, and Aika flinched at the implied criticism in the question.
“Sorry.” She replied, staring down at her most hated possession and wishing it to the depths of the ocean. “I’m really sorry. I know we’re on the finale now and the timing is terrible…”
“Fuck the timing.” Zira replied with fervor. “Aika, you’ve had like nine hours of sleep across the last three days. You can’t go out now!”
Aika gave her a grin, but there was too much darkness in it to lighten anything. “That’s just how it is, Zira. I don’t get movie nights, I don’t get family meals, heck I don’t even get birthdays off. I’ve snuck out of both of the last Christmases. Even most on-call jobs you can schedule some important time off, but not here.  I have to answer, so I’m never going to get to have anything that’s mine again. That’s what being a Magical Girl means. We just saw two of them die, and it’s supposed to be sad but I was jealous. They don’t have to answer the call anymore.”
That was entirely too heavy for Zira to manage at this time of night, so instead she just said the first thing that came to mind. “There’s four more seasons. They come back.”
“OF COURSE THEY FUCKING DO!!!”
*
03:15
Zira’s House
Aika was fairly certain this was the right basement and she wasn’t going to have any more incredibly awkward encounters. She was proven right when she was Zira, still waiting up for her, and she smiled.
“Sorry ‘bout… that.” She said, covering a giant yawn that appeared in the middle. “I was as quick as I could be. Let’s finish off this finale.”
Zira eyed her critically, then shook her head. Aika felt her heart drop to her feet. One more who can’t take it…” She thought, but was surprised when Zira just came over to wrap her in a blanket and hand her a cup of milk. She blinked at it, caught totally off guard.
“The internet said the fight was over.” Zira admitted, fidgeting with the edge of the blanket. “So I got you some milk. We’ll watch the finale tomorrow. For now, I think we could both use some sleep.”
Zira led her towards the bed, and Aika followed in a complete daze. She wasn’t sure yet if this was the first step to acceptance or leaving… but for now she’d take it. She’d take it.
For some reason her teammates had never been as lonely as she was.
She felt asleep with the warmth of a friend beside her, and her last thought was maybe I don’t have to be any more.
She’d forget it before she woke.

[Discord Curse AU]
This is not an infection au per se, but, it follows similar guidelines so I'm going to tag it as such. Differences are; minimized gore, existing-story relevancy, & the end result is not death.
x
Enantiodromia
Unable to resolve their missing Elements problem, the Mane 6 went home from the Discord Labyrinth to figure out how to continue life in Ponyville - which was fully intact, albeit still a little strange. It still rained chocolate now & then. There were extra laws to physics that broke themselves daily.
Discord's true curse, at first, was unnoticeable.
Cagey guarding of one special item from Rarity ['She gets tense at work, it's understandable.'], forgotten plans from Rainbow Dash ['She's so active, everyone forgets things, right?']. Occasionally, a fib would slip out of Applejack, but she'd shake her head, correct herself, & say it was a mistake.
Even the physical changes went mostly unnoticed ; to ponies who saw each other every day, they weren't significant enough in their gradual takeover to raise suspicion.
Nobody thought much of it until Pinkie Pie missed a pony's birthday ['She's been hiding herself away a lot lately, I wonder why?'] & one of Twilight's teleport spells failed. Not to mention the . . . unicorn horn? growing from Applejack.
Fluttershy was the first to go missing.
['I hope she's safe.' - The Lost Spark]

✷ would this dignified member of txt let you borrow a pen?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ζྀི) a certain few of them are not dignified for sure. like beomgyu and soobin what?. general headcanons but 𝓉aehyun might get someone (≖⌣≖) ㅤㅤ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ 𑜞᭄ೃㅤㅤ ͏ ͏
⋆ꪗeonjun
yeonjun is known around the campus to be the helpful senior of the semester so of course he is gonna spot you one.
or so you think.
in the beginning hes like, “yes why not?“ with a big smile and reassurance gripping each word that comes out of his voice box like the extra safe and absorbent pads in those days of your period the commercial promises you.
fake promises of course just like yeonjun.
searches his bag, there is no pen.
he is sweating, he is gonna be called a liar, and then everyone in the city will know him as a liar, and once the city knows something, the country will soon and once it hits national news it's only a few seconds until CNN makes a headline out of it.
he is gonna be known as the international liar.
he DOES NOT want to be known as the international liar.
he is sweating on his backpack. he is panicking. his teeth are chattering, he is seeing two backpacks instead of one.
and he is about to flood the whole damn classroom until he gets out of this situation fast.
the water level in the classroom is already up to the ankle level when you utter those words that pick him up from his crisis.
“oh i already had one. thanks anyways :D”
he turns back to look at you with the perfect grin and nods as wind suspiciously blows in the air conditioned room with no windows open.
when you go back to your desk he casually slinks away to kai to borrow one of his pens.
yeonjun then for the rest of the semester you share the class with him and greets you with a handful of pens, always ready if you want one.
⋆ᦓoobin
he is NOT going to give you one.
and he is not going to be honest about it.
not because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. he couldn't care less about it frankly but rather than the fact he does not want to witness you moping like he's still a soft hearted, kind person.
so instead he comes up with detailed amounts of redundant fibs he has created to get you off his back.
suddenly the lighting changes and you find yourself beside soobin, softly patting his back as he tells you the tale of how he traumatised himself by giving someone all of his pens when he had an important exam to give and during the time
that person didn't give it back to him so now he only carries one pen that he might need.
also blames it all beomgyu, deeming him the man in his fantasy who had taken all his pen and left him in shambles.
beomgyu loses some popularity in the campus but you lose and win some
nobody asks soobin for any pen.
and beomgyu takes down a peg.
although soobin's little lie almost comes to an end one time when you catch his incredible collection of pens falling on the ground.
he gaslights you into thinking those are tampons and he moves on with his day.
and you might ask why he doesn't want to share pens?
it's because he's an introvert, he's too shy to ask for his pen back.
⋆᥇eomgyu
you're about to ask him for one when he looks back at you with an all too familiar look.
this mf too did not bring a pen.
⋆ꪻaehyun
of course he will give you one.
but he is also gonna be breathing down your neck every second of the minute you have his pen in your hand.
you look up from writing your name on the page and he's there in your vision line watching you like a hawk as if you would make a run for it with his pen.
says he's fine when you ask him if you could keep using it for the rest of your classes.
you should have been aware that there were more than well intentioned those bright eyes of his.
but with your every move, he's there in the vicinity of your vision, watching your every move that you take with his pen in your bag.
you go to the bathroom to freshen up from the cold sweat that has been coating your body and he is there, right in the stall, perched on top of the toilet looking at you.
you are going to catch your boyfriend in the act of cheating and he passes by whispering not to get blood on his pen.
you're almost fearing for your life when you go to give his pen and swear with your blood drawn that you would never forget your pens ever again.
he laughs at your little confession, mistaking it to be a little joke, completely unaware of his own eerie mien.
says there's one thing left to do with his pen and writes his number on your palm.
you might have to ask for it again though since the sweat has almost erased it.
⋆ꫝyuning kai
he would.
if he had any left.
from the moment he stepped into the classroom everyone surrounded kai like a clique of useless zombies and snatched every last pen from him.
from the day when kai had to fight one person over his own.
begging, crying, and throwing up for the pen as they both play tug of war with the pen in the middle of the classroom, kai has sworn to himself to hide at least one pen in his underwear for the sake of education.
taehyun had once asked him.
”why do you bring all these pens if they steal it anyway?”
kai taken a swig of his apple juice, wiping the remnant from his lips and replacing it with a proud smile.
”because of my reputation as their savior”
taehyun—ok i get it you're a pushover.
the day you ask him for the pen, he had saved two fortunately.
but he is conflicted to turn you down, or to give you one that's been marinating awfully close to his pair of oranges.
he has made the decision.
he was going to ask for one of his pen back.
and he is going to ask for it from beomgyu, who probably could have started a whole business with all the pen he stole from kai.
and he surprisingly gets one them back back.
”well that was exhilarating.”
you- “...”
kai actually gets all of his pens back during his graduation.
all of them.
with all these assets suddenly back in kai’s positions, taehyun and beomgyu appears beside him with a business proposal kai just can't turn down.
“let's sell these.”

Artrick Chemtrails over the Country Club
NSFW
@diyasgarden based on a conversation Diya and I had about rich boy Patrick decided to add Art into the mix.
Reminiscing about summer with your two golden boys
Under the chemtrails over the country club Wearin' our jewels in the swimming pool
Art told you to be careful, take the ring off before you jump in, of course Patrick knew you wouldn't listen It was custom made and very expensive encrusted with diamonds with their initials A+P the closest thing to a wedding band they could buy, the perfect indicator you were theirs
They both felt bad the minute you popped back up to the surface noting it was gone, it took a minute until you noticed the missing weight on your finger eyes pathetically flitting back and forth trying to find the missing object. Patrick squats matching your tiny frown lamenting your pout and teary eyes. "I'll buy you another one don't worry" he hums pinching your cheek a giggle bubbling up from your chest making him feel whole again
He stands strides back to Art’s side both watching you swim back and forth
"You spoil her too much, she's on the road to being a brat" Art smiles no malice behind his words "she's our brat besides you'd buy her a new ring too, bracelet to match" Patrick lights his cigar pocketing his lighter, Art nods and admits "I'd give her anything she wanted" taking a sip of his whiskey
Nobody's son, nobody's daughter Watching the chemtrails over the country club
laid between both boys the 3 of you clad naked lost your underwear to Patrick ripping them off your hips hours ago
"they don't hate you" you lie hoping he doesn't notice it behind your attempted reassurance Patrick's grip on you tightens picking up on it but makes no effort to argue instead taking your hand pressing soft kisses against your knuckles rolling onto his side.
"Besides you have Art and I.." you cup his cheek nuzzling your nose against his. Art turns over and squeezes your waist a silent thank you for being so nurturing.
Art nudges his face into the dip of your shoulder, the warm smell of jasmine in your shampoo invading his senses "love you" Patrick pecks your face between each word. Art discreetly kisses your skin, a solidified good job.
Suburbia, The Brentwood Market What to do next? Maybe we'll love it
"Well it’s between horseback riding or tennis today” Art reads through the schedule sent over by his grandmother along with a batch of chocolate covered strawberries she makes I love you written in cursive over the plastic lid
“Never rode horses before and I’m terrible at tennis, you both always want me to play just to make fun of me” you bristle
“we never do that” Patrick fibs arm coiling around your waist twisting a lock of your hair between his fingers slotting it in his mouth saliva wetting the piece
“Gross Pat” you tsk recoiling away
“Fuck, aren’t you tired?” You ask, bumping your elbow against his belly, "lazy not tired" Patrick yawns his palm drifting closer towards your breast around you, laying his chin over your shoulder. “Cut it out” Art swats his hand away not the time to be a whore
“what's that vegan place you wanted to go to again?" Art questions. Patrick cringes at the thought of ‘fake’ deserts just shitty replacements Art miserably scarfs down
“lets treat our girl properly, she deserves authentic diabetic inducing sweets man"
you note his solemn gaze and furrowed brows remembering his habits around food, it was distressing to witness something he couldn’t grow out visibly watching his brain spiral about the festering calories in one of his favorite tiramisu cakes or the root beer float he always has a hard time saying not to, hating the extra chub he wants to get rid of that you love
“it's ok baby, lets go to froyo instead then tiffany's we can get matching pendants"
Late night TV, I want you on me Like when we were kids under chemtrails and country club
Art's jaw's slack, babbling incoherent praises "take us so well" sounds of skin slapping fills the air
he's flushed red beneath you panting in your ear on the verge of sobbing love filled tears stroking himself in and out of your cunt while Patrick's lays above you his weight heavy pumping his dick with his fist grazing it between your cheeks cock head threatening to enter your ass while planting soft kisses along the back of your neck nibbling your skin
"close- I'm so close" they both can tell the muscles of your core tightening around Art's cock your body tensing beneath Patrick as you close in on your orgasm a chord finally snaps tension leaving your body as you cum collapsing against Arts chest both boys fall apart quickly after you
a few moments pass Patricks slips right next to Art's side head nestled into his neck while Art stills inside of you legs locking your hips trapping his release from dripping out of you
“Do you think life is going to be like this forever?”
“we’ll make sure it is” Patrick sighs drowsily pecking your cheek

hi love! could I request reader having a nightmare and Remus comforting her?
Hi gorgeous, of course you can! Thanks :)
roomate!Remus x fem!reader ♡ 1.2k words
You wake when your own fist hits the window beside your bed.
You’re not sure if it's the feeling of the cold glass hitting your hand, the loud banging sound it makes in your silent flat, or the terror that’s been building as your dream reaches a climax, but you gasp as you wake, flinching away from the window.
For a few moments, you just lie there. Staring into the darkness and listening to the pounding of your heart. You’re okay. You’re in your room, at home. There’s no one here.
Until there is. Remus busts in your door, wild-eyed and rumpled, and you flinch back towards the window you’d been so eager to get away from a few seconds before.
“Shit!” Your eyes fill with tears as your brain plunges from the treacherous peak of adrenaline for the second time in a minute. You squeeze them shut, covering your face with your hands. “I’m so sorry, Remus. I woke you?”
“That was you?” He stops just inside the doorway, fisting a hand in his hair and blowing out a harsh breath. “Christ, I thought someone was breaking in.”
“Sorry,” you say pathetically, sitting up and wiping under your eyes. “I think I was breaking out. I hit the window in my sleep.”
Remus’ eyes flit to the window (you don’t think you came anywhere near damaging it, thank god), before landing back on your face. His eyebrows draw together. “Well, that’s a reaction. Everything okay?”
You swallow. “Yeah, just sorry I woke you. You should go back to sleep.”
“Why are you crying?” He ignores the suggestion and comes to sit on the edge of your bed. You make room for him automatically, drawing your knees to your chest.
“I guess I spooked myself,” you laugh wetly. “It was just a dream, though.”
The space between Remus’ brows puckers. “Bad dream? Must’ve been pretty terrifying for you to jerk your arm like that.” He’s looking at you thoughtfully. “I’ve never known you to do anything like that before.”
You shrug, feeling your face heat from the attention. “Hopefully it’s the only time.”
“Do you think it might help to talk about it?”
“I’ve already forgotten most of it,” you say, but give him a small smile for his efforts. He really is the best roommate you could ask for, kind to a fault. “I woke up pretty freaked, but I’ll get over it. Thanks, though.”
Remus watches you with those warm, caramel eyes of his. You get the impression he’s sizing you up. “Do you think you’ll be able to get back to sleep after that, love?”
You’re sure he’s tacked on the endearment to imbue the question with extra sweetness (as if his voice isn’t enough), wanting to make it clear that either answer is alright. But even Remus’ special brand of tenderness can’t convince you to inconvenience him any more than you already have. Your heart is still half-stuck in your throat, and there’s no way you’re going to let yourself fall back asleep when you’re in this headspace—that’d just be asking for another nightmare. He doesn’t need to worry about that, though.
“Yeah,” you fib. “I’ll be fine, thanks.”
Remus looks dissatisfied, but nods. “Alright.” He reaches up, giving your knee an affectionate squeeze as he stands. “See you tomorrow, then.”
“Sorry again for waking you,” you say, voice pitched high with shame.
“Don’t be,” he says, plodding sleepily out of your room. “It’s no problem.”
You’re positive it was some problem, considering he’d been roused by your noise in the early hours of the morning and come charging into your room looking half-crazed, but you’re done arguing about it. Maybe if you still haven’t fallen asleep by six or seven, you’ll get up early to make him an apology breakfast.
You track the sound of Remus’ quiet footsteps as he goes into his room, waiting for the click of the door closing. A few moments, and it doesn’t come. His footfalls have stopped, until they change direction, shuffling back across the hall.
His head pokes into your room. “You’re not going back to sleep, are you?”
Your shoulders begin to curl towards your ears. “No,” you say in a small voice, “but it doesn’t need to be your problem.”
He gives you a disapproving look. “Would it help to sleep in my room?”
You startle. “I could never ask—”
“You’re not asking,” he says, seeming to have got his answer. “Come on.”
“Remus, thank you, but I can’t stay in your room.”
“Sure you can. My bed’s bigger, and the longer you argue the less time either of us gets to sleep.” He levels you with a hard look, and for a second, your quiet, polite roommate is nearly intimidating. “Come on.”
You comply this time, slipping out from beneath your blankets. “Sorry,” you say, and then, unable to choose, “thank you. You’re seriously too nice.”
“I’m not,” Remus mutters, waiting at the door until he’s sure you’re coming before leading the way into his room. “The problem is that you’re too nice, and so I can’t ignore you when you’re upset like I would anyone else.”
You sincerely doubt that. You’ve seen Remus rush off at the drop of a hat whenever any of his friends needed him. He’ll give every scrap of himself to anyone he cares about, without hesitation.
But instead of that, you say, “I’m not upset.”
“That’s good,” Remus replies, lying down and propping himself up on one elbow. When you hover on the edge, waiting for permission, he gestures to the other side patiently. “It’s alright to still be a bit frightened, though, you know?”
You gnaw on the inside of your lip as you crawl beneath the covers. It feels like such an invasion. “I think it’s more just the aftershocks of fear,” you tell him. “I’m still panicking a bit, but I can’t even remember what about.”
He hums, his watchfulness making you squirm as you lay your cheek on his pillow, facing him. His sheets smell like him, cinnamon and clove and something heady that you’ve never been able to place. “That doesn’t mean the panic isn’t still scary, yeah? How’re you feeling now?”
He asks like he really wants to know, and you believe him. There’s a particular sincerity to Remus. He likes to hide it behind gruffness and feigned insouciance, sometimes for so long that you can trick yourself into thinking you imagined it was there in the first place. He’s not hiding it now.
“Better,” you answer honestly. “Kind of getting tired. Did I startle you awake too badly to sleep?”
The smile he gives you is small for all the fondness it contains. “No, I’m getting tired too. Ready to try sleeping again? If I notice you stirring, I can wake you if you like.”
You feel like you could cry again, but for completely different reasons. “I’d really appreciate that. Thank you.”
“It’s nothing.” He sets his head on the pillow next to yours, the backs of his knuckles resting gently against the side of your hand. “Goodnight, love.”
You let the weight of your eyelids win, the darkness behind them more welcoming with Remus beside you. “Goodnight.”
You don’t wake again until morning.

Could I just like make a request about the jojos having a darling who does literally everything to stay away. Like they come up with the dumbest excuses or do dumb stuff just to stay away
woot woot, this’ll be my first thing with Jodio hopefully I can write him correctly before doing headcanons. Sort of more of a reaction thingy but hope it satisfies, since I’m trying to get back into a groove of things.
Jonathan
His heart flutters hearing you stumble on excuses, he can tell you’re lying but he doesn’t mention this. Though he finds it in your best interest to have someone looking out for you, in the end. Whatever little thing you busy yourself with, he finds a way to come around. Sometimes it just happens to align with his father’s request to fetch something. Just maybe he twists things around to something you like, even if it only keeps you around for a few extra seconds.
Joseph
The biggest trickster there is, it’s near impossible to try and get out of anything with Joseph. “Mmm, you already used that one” He gives you a quick wink. He knows where you hang out mostly, and can easily tell if you’re not the “ruffian” type. If you’re a bit snarky yourself, he does his best to make you slip up. Or if he’s really determined waste enough time that you don’t have to bother with that other “task” you had to do.
Jotaro
Blunt. To put it lightly, Yare Yare leaves his lips as soon as you stumble through an excuse. He knows how efficiently you may or may not get things done. Anything you’re usually not fond of makes him raise an eyebrow (immediate suspicion if it’s possibly just to impress some other person). It almost feels like an interrogation when he asks the sudden interest in whatever you spilled out. Forget trying to do anything dumb, fib or otherwise he’s not letting you do it. Even if you do manage to slip off and go out on your own, Jotaro is around somewhere.
Josuke
Similar to Joseph he’s pretty on top of silly excuses, because he’s probably made up a thing or two himself. The best course of action for him is making up an excuse himself to get into whatever you made up on the fly. If you ask, he tells you he doesn’t know what you’re talking about. Even if it’s obvious he’s lying to you, he makes it nigh impossible to leave “hey that’s what you said you were doing”.
Giorno
He definitely knows the ins and outs about you, so lying won’t likely get you very far. Besides every little excuse you do make, he seems to always have a counter for. It’s almost freaky, if you don’t know how much Giorno negotiates. Though there’s times he let’s you go on the basis of a flimsy lie. Rest assured though something goes missing and it always leads back to him. Anything out of the ordinary for you is promptly taken care of, “That’s a rather interesting way to try to keep away from me” He’d tell you in a friendly tone.
Jolyne
Like her father she can be pretty blunt herself, even insists it’s not a great idea to stray too far. The little excuses you make are intriguing to her, but she counters with her own plans. Sometimes she’ll get you lipstick and see if you’ll wear it out later, depending on what you told her you were supposedly doing that day. Little runarounds with you keep her on her toes making sure you don’t run off. Simple things like getting you to spend extra time with her, with her own little excuses. Eventually there might be a time your handcuffed to her bed, for a day or two. “Don’t you ever get tired of making up stuff? It’d just be easier being here with me you know, I’ve got your back”
Johnny
He’s rather scary when you make up something on the fly to avoid him. His blue eyes bore into your soul, unless he uses spin there’s usually nothing much he can do. As he improves however, the space between the two of you slowly shrinks. Johnny makes it certain one way or another your attention is drawn back to himself. He notes everything you do, so if you don’t “have” something he either has an extra or absolutely knows you have an item. Similar likely happens with your horses habits. If he’s determined he manages to pin you under him. He merely mumbles “Stay” at a little too close for comfort distance.
Josuke (Part 8)
He’s curious at some of the excuses you make here and there. Or hearing about things you’d usually wouldn’t do. He’s not dumb obviously, so he asks if there’s a reason you’re avoiding him. The possible roundabout answers you give, don’t really satisfy. It is cute you’re nervous about it though. He may just simply ignore some of the things you tell him to try and keep your distance. Josuke wants to see you anyway, if he can’t he might try and call just to test if you’re at a certain place. “There’s nothing that can convince me to keep away” He’d tell you at one point or another.
Jodio
“Li~ar, liar~” At least this is what happens when you come up with something on the fly. Admittedly he’s busy with trying to get rich, but since he likes you on a level enough to significantly care. The things you tell him don’t quite match up. It’s not really hard to tell you’re avoiding him, he might even put that out bluntly. He’ll show up randomly when you least expect it, he might swipe something from a friend or delay a meetup somehow. “I don’t really care about whoever else you hang out with ya’ kno~w, it only should be a me and you thing”.
“Just don’t get used to thinking you can avoid me all the time”

Pizza Party
Tumblr media
Kelly x reader
WC: 1200 or so
A day late for @hurtcember day 14 Near Death
--
Movement on the apron caught Joe’s attention. He looked over to spot two legs and a mountain of pizza boxes.
“Someone order lunch?” said a feminine voice from behind the tower of cardboard.
Kelly looked up just in time for her to poke her head out to the side of her stack. “Hey, you! I didn't know you were coming by today.” He stood and took half the stack to hand off to Joe before taking the rest himself.
After leaning in for a quick kiss, she explained. “I was bored. Figured I'd bring some lunch.”
Capp chimed in from his spot at the squad table. “How many people are you planning to feed?”
Y/N laughed. “Too much pizza is always best. Who doesn't love leftovers?”
They headed inside and toward the kitchen. “Lunch!” she announced loudly. “I've got deep dish, thin crust, meat lovers, veggie lovers, pineapple, and one extra cheese.”
There were cheers and chair legs scraping across the floor as everyone quickly lined up to get the pizza.
Mouch scoffed. “Who eats plain cheese?”
Kelly laughed as he wrapped his now free arm around Y/N. “She does. The pineapple one is also for her.”
“I'm with her on that one.” Mills chimed in, “Pineapple on pizza is good.”
“Yes! Thank you!” She lifted her hand for him to high five. “But don't eat it all. It's my dinner for later, too.”
As everyone started to settle at the table with their food, Sylvie entered. “Hey! Severide didn't tell us you were coming today.” She pulled Y/N into a firm hug.
“He didn't know. I decided to surprise everyone,” she explained, squeezing Sylvie tight.
They both made a plate and sat down at the table with everyone. She picked the spot next to Kelly and he leaned over and kissed her.
“Thanks for coming. Love you.”
“I love you, too.” Y/N smiled at him.
An hour later, as Y/N began to combine pizzas into fewer boxes, she wobbled as she was overcome with light headedness. She grasped the counter to steady herself.
Nearly instantly, Kelly was at her side. “You alright?”
She nodded. “I think so. Just got a little woozy.”
Kelly wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “How about we go sit down for a minute.”
She took a step toward the couch then collapsed. Kelly caught her in time to prevent her from hitting the ground. “Whoa, hey, Y/N!”
Mills was beside him a moment later. “Lay her down.”
Once Kelly had laid her gently on the floor, Peter leaned down to check her breathing then pressed his fingers to her neck to check her pulse. “No pulse. Brett!”
Sylvie was already running toward the ambulance for the jump bag and monitor.
“No, no, no. You stay with me, Y/N.” Kelly pleaded, taking her hand in his. “You hear me?” He watched in horror as Peter started chest compressions.
Sylvie was back quickly and kneeling beside Kelly. “I need you to back up so we can work.”
Matt bent down and grabbed Kelly’s shoulder to pull him away. “They've got her.”
“What the hell even just happened?” Kelly wiped tears off his face. “She was just fine and then–” He couldn't even finish his sentence.
Sylvie had hooked her up to the monitor and defibrillator pads while Peter continued compressions. “Stop compressions.”
“Still no pulse,” Peter announced.
“She's in v-fib,” said Sylvie. She pressed a button to charge the defibrillator. “Clear.”
When she pressed the button to discharge the shock, Y/N arched off the ground and Kelly squatted like he could manage to stay standing any longer.
Peter watched the monitor. “Still in v-fib.” He resumed compressions. “Let's try again.”
Sylvie nodded. “Charging to 360. Clear.”
Peter raised his hands as Sylvie discharged another shock.
The monitor beeped. Slowly at first then quicker and the entire room breathed a sigh of relief.
“Sinus rhythm,” Sylvie pointed out.
Peter nodded. “Pulse is strong. Let's get her to Med.”
As they lifted her to the stretcher, she groaned. Kelly ran a hand softly over her head. “Can you open your eyes, sweetheart?”
She whimpered. “Ow.”
“What hurts?” Sylvie asked.
She slowly opened her eyes. Looking around she frowned, “What happened?”
Kelly brushed hair back from her face. “You collapsed. Mills and Brett are going to take you to the hospital.”
“Why does my chest hurt?”
They all headed towards the ambulance as Kelly explained. “Uh, your heart stopped. They had to do CPR.”
“What?” She gaped at him.
“It's going to be okay,” Kelly tried to soothe. “The doctors will figure out what happened. Just try to relax.”
They quickly loaded her into the ambulance and Peter headed to the front to drive. Kelly held her hand tightly, like he was afraid to let go.
Sylvie was sitting beside Kelly. She started an IV and wrapped a blood pressure cuff around her arm. Finally, she placed a nasal cannula in her nose for oxygen.
Y/N took a deep breath trying to calm herself and winced.
“What's the matter?” Kelly asked.
“It hurts to breathe.” She whimpered. “Kel, I'm scared.”
“I know. You'll be okay,” he said. “Connor will figure out what happened.”
Sylvie twisted a syringe into the IV port. “I'm giving you some fentanyl for the pain. That should help, okay?”
Almost instantly she felt some relief from the chest pain.
A moment later, they pulled up to the emergency entrance and the back doors were pulled open.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Connor greeted as he helped unload you. “What happened?” The question was directed at Sylvie.
“Sudden cardiac arrest. Nothing happened, she just collapsed,” Sylvie explained, trying to keep the emotion out of her voice. She gave a run down of vitals and advised that she'd given fentanyl before Y/N was shifted to the hospital bed.
“Okay. Let's get a CBC, BMP, cardiac enzymes, 12-lead EKG, and a chest x-ray,” Connor ordered.
The next few hours went by in a whirlwind of pokes and tests and nurses with vitals checks. Kelly was sitting beside her bed holding her hand while she fought the pull of sleep.
“I'm so tired.”
He ran a hand over her head and kissed her forehead. “Get some rest. I'll wake you if Connor comes back with anything.”
“I–I'm scared to fall asleep.”
He squeezed her hand. “You can sleep. I promise you're safe. I won't let anything happen to you.”
Before she could succumb to sleep, Connor came into the room. “Well, I have the answer. You have something called long QT syndrome,” he started to explain. “We need to run a few more tests tomorrow so we can figure out what the best course of treatment is. So for now, we’ll get you moved up to a room and you just get some rest.”
“What kind of treatments?” she asked.
“Medication or an implanted defibrillator or some combination.”
When he left you started googling on your phone. Kelly stole your phone from your hand. “That's never a good idea. Just get some sleep, okay?”
She sighed. “Fine. I'll try.” Trying to get comfortable, she closed her eyes trying to get some sleep before another round of testing.
The last thing she heard was Kelly whispering, “Thank you for not leaving me.”

HEAD OVER HEELS
PAIRING: Kuroo Tetsurō/Reader
CONTENT: confessions, friends to lovers
WORD COUNT: 2.0k
Tumblr media
“We need to talk.”
“Holy shit,” are the first words that escape your mouth moments after you open the door and step a singular foot into the hallway.
Before the person in front of you even has the chance to react to your very kind and courteous reaction, you proceed to slowly slide your foot back inside the classroom you were just about to exit, the noise of your sneakers scraping over the metal frame piercing the silence. Kuroo stifles a laugh behind his hand, smoothly playing it off as a cough.
Right as you’re about to shut the door, he swiftly sticks a foot in the doorway and then side shuffles his way in like a crab, all while combatting your feeble attempts to squash him with the door. Once you realise this guy isn’t going anywhere without a word with you, you give up with an aggravated sigh and step aside, giving him the Kubrick stare as he strolls past you.
You’re still glaring at him when he takes a seat on top of one of the desks, using the chair as a foot rest.
The table’s long enough that the two of you could comfortably sit side-by-side on it. He gestures to the empty space beside him, yet you don’t budge an inch from your spot. Instead, you opt to exhibit main character syndrome by crossing your arms and leaning against the wall at an uncomfortable angle. Seconds later, though, you shift your position, awkwardly shuffling to more comfortable pose.
“I haven’t seen you in a while,” Kuroo says in a stiff manner that leads you to believe he’s got a pre-written speech that he skimmed over only once before shoving it in his pockets. He glances around the room, everywhere but you. Fidgets with his watch, twisting it around and around his wrist. Clears his throat, before speaking up again when it becomes obvious you have nothing to say in response. “Actually— it’s been almost a month since we last talked. Now if I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were avoiding me.”
He raises an eyebrow as if to silently question you.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you announce haughtily. You pretend to think long and hard by simultaneously placing a finger on your chin and averting your gaze to one of the cobwebbed corners of the ceiling as you rack your brain for any memory of a conversation with him over these past few weeks. Come to think of it, he’s right, as much as you’d rather not admit that right now. The number of words exchanged between you and Kuroo has been… low, as of lately.
But not zero.
You snap your fingers and smile at your newfound eureka moment. “We talked during our physics lab last Tuesday.”
All he gives you is a placid stare because he’s not really believing what you’re saying right now. Slowly, he responds, “I asked if I could borrow a pencil from you and you said no.”
“‘Cause I didn’t have an extra one.” Lies. Kuroo knows of your susceptibility to ordering cute stationery from sketchy websites online and bringing all of them with you everywhere you go. Nonetheless, he holds back on calling out your fib. “It’s still talking anyway, so I don’t really see the problem,” you say.
“…Okay, then I rescind my sentence. It’s been almost a month since we’ve last had an actual conversation,” he corrects himself, his tone hinting at the tiniest bit of spite. “My point still stands. You haven’t been answering any of my calls or texts. All of a sudden, you go out of your way to sit on the opposite side of the classroom instead of your usual seat next to me. And every time I see you around on campus, you turn around and speed-walk in the other direction before I can even wave hi to you. It’s like watching on you move at 2x speed every time.”
He holds up two fingers and then wriggles them upside down in a way that’s supposed to mimic your alleged speed-walking. Clearly unimpressed, your upper lip curls into a scowl.
“Sounds a lot to me like avoidance, unless you’re purposely playing hard-to-get all of a sudden.”
“Those are some bold allegations.“
“Sure. Maybe they are.” He doesn’t bother arguing with you on that, which you believe is out of the ordinary, and it leaves an unsettling feeling in your gut. In all the years you’ve known him, you can’t remember the last time he agreed with you just like that, no debate or annoying remarks or anything, because it’s always been like this: you say literally anything with no evidence or explanation, and he plays pretend as someone having PhD in whatever it is that you’re talking about.
Maybe, you think dejectedly, you really did ruin your years-long friendship that one fateful day, the day you accidentally had one too many drinks and ended up spewing into the air a mix of vomit, nonsensical philosophies, and a confession you didn’t mean to ever let loose from the sanctuary of your heart. Maybe, things are changing, for the worse; and maybe, a rejection is going to come hurtling at your face soon, sometime in next couple minutes— that is, if you make it through the rest of this conversation without actually exploding internally. Either that, or power-walking away like a coward, the way you’ve been doing for the past month.
Snapping out of your thoughts, you watch as Kuroo leans back, bracing his hand against the surface of the table. You think this is the moment; this is when he’ll say something along the vague lines of the two of you just staying friends and leave it at that, and for the weeks that follow afterward, you’ll mull around in your room, sulking over your very first heartbreak until the motivation hits and you get the coming-of-age movie glow-up you’ve always dreamed of.
However, the next thing you hear out of him is far worse than anything you could imagine, making the warmth in your cheeks flare up the second his words register to you — or rather, your words.
“But maybe they’re not as bold as you the day right before you started avoiding me, when you said, and I quote, ‘Tetsurō,’” he pitches his voice to sound more like yours, though the impression is done exaggeratedly, “‘I think I’m falling in love with you.’”
???? Why did he do that.
The nerve of this man. You want to scream. Punch the wall. Kick him in the face. Because if the embarrassment that crushed you like a hydraulic press the morning after your confession was enough to almost kill you, this just brought you straight to your grave without warning, burying you six feet under. You start mentally counting all his eyebrow hairs, partly because you can’t stand to see that heinously satisfied look in his eyes right now, but also because you hope your sudden focus on the forehead region of his face will at least dwindle his confidence by a little bit.
(Though, perhaps the less vengeful part of you is glad to see the familiar smug Kuroo you know so well, as opposed to the prior Kuroo who looked like he hadn’t taken a shit in several weeks.)
“You really suck,” you drawl, finally shifting your attention away from his eyebrows only to send him a glare. “Do you think my feelings are a joke?”
His lips morph into a frown. “Hey, no. I wasn’t—“ He shakes his head, then tries to reassure you, “I don’t think your feelings are a joke, and I’m sorry I made it seem that way. I brought it up only because I wasn’t sure whether you remembered or not and I was wondering if you really meant it.”
You don’t know what to say to that.
“At first, I wasn’t going to talk about it with you, especially if you weren’t going to bring it up first, but then you started avoiding me and… I miss you a lot. I miss waking up to your texts and pictures of the ugly squirrels outside your window.” (You mutter something under your breath about how they aren’t that ugly.) “I miss sitting next to you and watching you switch between twenty different pens and highlighters during class.” (You bet he misses switching the caps of your highlighters, too, whenever you’re not looking.) “And I hate acting like we’re strangers whenever I see you on campus because, as funny as it is, it hurts a lot right here.”
He places a hand over his heart with a wounded expression. Resisting the urge to roll your eyes, you simply let out a dejected sigh.
“I.. I’ve missed you too,” you admit reluctantly. You twiddle your fingers and avert your eyes, wallowing in the awkward silence that ensues after. Kuroo seems to be thinking, centring his analytical gaze onto you as if trying to read your thoughts.
“Did you mean it? What you said at that party last month?”
Wow! Suddenly, that clock on the wall looks super interesting. “You know, my next class starts in a few minutes, I should really get going. See you—“
“I know your schedule,” he cuts in, his tone carrying a certain degree of slyness to it. “You don’t have class until four.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “Weirdo.”
“Liar,” he retorts with a sickly sweet smile. For the second time in this conversation, you get the violent urge to scream, punch the wall, and kiss— sorry, kick him in the face all at once.
There’s another silence that follows and that you believe is the worst one you’ve sat through in a while, even worse than the silence you experienced in your first year after mispronouncing the word ‘organism’ during a presentation. You chew the inside of your cheek, feeling your heart thump wildly against your chest. He waits expectantly.
He really isn’t going to let this go.
“I did mean it,” you say eventually. Eugh, yuck! Even just admitting that already makes you want to coil into yourself. “You make me so sick to my stomach with your shitty grin and your shitty charm and your shitty hair, and sometimes I wonder what heinous crime or sin I committed in a past life to deserve this feeling because it never goes away, only gets worse the more we hang out and—“
“Woah, woah, woah. Hold on.” There’s a look of incredulity on his face, almost offended.
“…What?” you say.
“You called my hair shitty.” Again, you fight back the urge to roll your eyes, instead settling for a less-than-impressed expression. “I can’t believe you’d lie and say something like that. It’s practically a fine art, getting it to look like this, you know.”
“I’m sure it is.” You straighten your back and abruptly push yourself off the wall before ungracefully shuffling to the side, towards the door. “Well. We talked. You got your answer. Soooo, I am departing. Goodbye.”
“Wait.” He stands up and chases after you, nearly colliding with your back when you suddenly stop and turn around. There appears to be an unspoken agreement as soon as the both of you realise the amount of space in between your faces: mere inches. Neither of you seem willing to back away. “Before you go, I have something else to tell you.”
“Make it quick.”
A light laugh from him brushes against your nose. You try not to think about it. “You’re in that much of a hurry to get away from me already?”
Your face feels unbearably warm. “Shut up.”
“How sweet of you,” he coos, reaching up to pinch your cheek affectionately. Despite your irritated expression, you make no effort to swat his hand away.
He then leans in close, a debonair grin dancing at the corners of his mouth as his lips ghost over the shell of your ear. However, you note that in your peripheral vision, his ears are tinted red and in spite of his confident, teasing front, he still sounds the tiniest bit abashed as he whispers, “I think I’ve fallen in love with you, too.”

What's your opinion on John Winchester and O!Dean?
Like John finding out his sons presentation, watching Dean practically raising Sam like his own pup, and having them on the "hunters life"?
How would growing up be like, do you think John would be more considered or train Dean even rougher to help him "make up" for his presentation or use it on hunts?
More importantly, does John catch Sams eyes lingering a second too long when Dean comes out from his showers?
Or when John feels daggers boring behind his head and the rumblings of a suppressed growl from his younger son as his eldest son undergoes corporal punishment for almost getting them both killed on the Penanggalan case?
It must me just hormones, right? Deans practically a mother to Sam. Of course, any pup/adolescent Alpha would be protective of their mother figure.
GASP!
anon...thank you for this ask!!!!! i have SO many thoughts about john and omega!dean!!!!! let's discuss!!!!
i think the answer is all of the above!!! john definitely raises dean to be a little tougher--not because he thinks dean is weak, but because he knows the world is going to treat him that way. dumbass alphas are going to get one whiff of him and try to take him out with one hit.
dean never shows muscle like sam does, no matter how hard he trains. he's fit, but he's not immediately recognizable as an "alpha" in the way sam's eventual height and john's broad shoulders are. john makes him run an extra mile. john makes him shoot an extra thirty minutes. he ties dean down to a chair in a shack in the middle of the woods and makes him track his way back to a road. he wants dean to be ready for all of the worst case scenarios to which his presentation make him a potential victim.
but you bet your ass they use that to their advantage. people underestimate dean, which makes it easier for him to get the drop of them, every time. the worst it gets: they're trying to lure a target out of a bar, and dean--descending into his monthly heat fast and fibbing to john just how fast so he can still be useful--puts on a too-small shirt and stumbles in, cheeks pink. he challenges their guy to pool, and takes every chance to bend right over the table, practically presenting.
needless to say, he gets way too much attention and john goes in fast to beat some alphas off. dean--saved in the nick of time--comes back to the motel shaky and pale and smelling like violence and strange alphas and sammy, not yet presented at eleven, crawls into his lap and scents him like a child. he knows exactly what dean needs, because dean slowly slackens and rubs his nose in sam's shaggy hair--still wet from a shower and dripping on dean's too-tight skin--calmed and at peace knowing he's giving sam what he needs for reassurance.
as for john finding out about dean's presentation, i think there's definitely a moment where john worries that he did this to him. dean and sammy are play-sparring in the dirt lot behind bobby's house, and when sammy playfully bites down on dean's neck like he always does, dean goes rigid. his heat lasts a week and sam is inconsolable. he's screeching and fighting against bobby and john in turn when they refuse to let him upstairs where dean's locked in a spare bedroom. dee smells wrong, he sobs, he's hurt, isn't he, did i hurt him?
but while john ices the scrapes sammy leaves up and down his arms after the pup cries himself to sleep that no, john did this, didn't he? he left those boys alone for hours. days. dean spent too much time treating sammy like his pup, and his hormones got all fritzy. his biology got confused, because john thought it was good for both of them to be close in a hunter's life. but it was also easy for john--to not have to worry about sammy as much and have someone pick up the (too frequent) slack--which eats at him.
john saw the way sammy trots after dean, fingers tucked in his belt loops. john saw the way dean dunks sam--squawking--head-first into the murky motel pool, and he saw the way dean would sit with him a few hours later, toweling his hair for minutes longer than necessary, sammy leaning into him like a magnet to a fridge. john heard dean purr sam to sleep after dean presented, sam's head smushed to dean's chest while dean's quiet rumbles slipped under the door crack of the cabin they were renting. john saw sam pause everyday before he left for school and let dean rub a wrist over his head, a preliminary and parental scenting that he only let john do sometimes.
and john didn't do anything to stop it.
and john doesn't know what to do, when sammy dutifully and solemnly brings dean his clothes to add to his nests in the week leading up to dean's heats. he doesn't know what to say when sam waits patiently on the edge of dean's nests until dean deems it acceptable, and lets sam crawl in with him. he doesn't know what to do when sam, freshly presented at thirteen--earlier than dean--crawls into his brother's bed whimpering like a pup, and dean lets sam scent him for comfort. he doesn't know what to do when sam gets in his face and actually growls at him when john tells him to pack his shit and stow the drama, and only calms down when dean calls pup, look at me in a strong, sharp voice.
(for the life of me, anon, i could not find any info on a penanggalan case, so i'm so sorry if you're referencing something specific (+ a specific corporeal punishment) and i couldn't find it)
john says maybe next time you'll think before doing something so goddamn stupid, while dean's shaking and sweating and fighting through the press-ups john keeps adding weight to. when he adds another thick book to dean's shoulders and dean cries out, the mutilated half-snarl sam isn't quick enough to stop slides out. he's been growling for the past few minutes, as soon as john added the first weight. it's been quiet enough to be denied, but john shoots an angry look over his shoulder at his youngest at this newest insubordination. sam doesn't hide his glare, the red-hot fury in his eyes. you want to join him, john snaps, but dean immediately pants--thin and reedy and overexerted--my fault, sammy. i got it.
fourteen-year-old sam is completely feral when dean gets injured on a hunt. john's never seen anything like it, when sam goes completely nonverbal and rips a ghoul's head off of its body with his bare hands. he crouches over dean and rips off the limbs of anything that even gets close. dean's pale and losing blood quickly, and when the coast is clear and john runs over to his sons, there isn't recognition in sam's eyes for a long second. just pure, frantic, territorial alpha.
dean's mostly unconscious, but sam quietly whimpers the entire way to the hospital, holding pressure against dean's wound and lurching to press his face into dean's hair every few minutes. it's eerie. it's terrifying.
john let it go too far. he knows he did.
it's too late now.
but, he tries to reason. it makes sense. dean's the omega that practically raised him. sam's known his scent longer than he's ever known a mother's.
sam's young. it'll be different when they're older.
john's right. but mostly, he's wrong.
~~~
anon PLEASEEE never hesitate to send me more of these--this clearly ran away with me, lol. i LOVEEE omega!dean!!!
thank you so much for sending this ask, anon! <33
Stressed Out
MAIN MASTER LIST
Word Count: 1.k <
Warnings: Not really any, kind of ooc Sherlock (but who cares)
Author's Note: Finally feeling like I have time to write and that the writing gods have been in my favor. This was a fun little one-shot to write. While I'm still trying to get back into my writing groove, this one shot definitely helped get some of the dust off my creative writing brain. So, thank you @my-dear-sweet-melody for requesting this one. I hope you enjoy it!
Tumblr media
You weren’t sure how you’d been doing it: managing the day-to-day lives of two people who also happened to be good friends of yours, assisting Sherlock with cases, seeing things you’d never thought you’d see in your lifetime (both good and bad), juggling relationships, your own well-being and health, and time to relax. Although it seemed like you had less and less time to do the things concerning yourself. You knew it wasn’t healthy, but when you were thrust into the world of Sherlock Holmes, more important things came into play.
Sherlock was the first to notice how the stress was weighing on you. It was a total shock when he casually announced your current state to John. The moment the words of concern were uttered from Sherlock’s lips, the puzzle in John’s mind had been completed. With the help of Mrs. Hudson, the two men began to conspire to make life easier for their dear friend.
At first, Sherlock’s conscious decision to wash his dishes and put them away in the correct cabinets struck you as odd. Sherlock’s mind was usually too busy for such arbitrary tasks, and such magnificent brain power couldn’t be wasted on such a thing. Then came the tidiness of his experiments. You could swear you hadn’t seen a stray finger or eyeball dissolving in vinegar for quite some time.
When you had asked Sherlock about his new behavior, he shrugged it off with some wildly strange research idea he had come up with. You tried to follow along, but your brain began to hurt after a moment, so you opted to believe him instead.
Meanwhile, John took extra care to charge his and Sherlock’s devices. He knew no matter how brilliant Sherlock was, the man seemingly ceased to forget that computers, phones, and the lot needed to be charged via a charging cord and port. On the other hand, Mrs. Hudson made the note to prepare extra tea and biscuits to save yourself the trouble of doing that for Sherlock and John.
Now, you felt no need to question John and Mrs.Hudson’s new behavior. It was in character for them to do small things like that. However, you continued to question Sherlock; he grew tired of it. Why couldn’t you see that he cared for you, too? That maybe he cared a bit more for you than he should. He was growing weary of the excuses he made to your insistent questions when all he wanted to do was throw them up and tell you the truth. Truthfully, the truth was something he insisted upon. Sherlock always found it one way or another. Yet, he could only fib when you had a new query about his altered behavior. Was it hard for you to understand that Sherlock could care? That he, too, could be human?
“Sherlock,” you called as you sat on the couch, pouring over the current case. It was usually your job to organize each thing into its Sherlockian category to save Sherlock his brain power. However, when you opened the file, it had already been done. “Did I happen to organize this in my sleep?” You raised the file and peered at him. Sherlock felt his mind conjure up the latest lie. Just before it left his mouth, he paused. He got up and marched to the window, where he began to gaze out onto the street below. He couldn’t lie anymore. He had to tell you the truth.
“I organized it,” Sherlock said.
You froze. Something was seriously wrong with the man if he was now organizing his own cases. “Sherlock, you never orga–”
“Why can’t I?” Sherlock’s voice grew tense. His eyes clenched shut, all while his back was still towards you. He wouldn’t dare look at you. He knew if he saw your eyes, he’d crumble and tell you everything, but everything was what you needed to hear. Everything was what he needed to say.
“I never said you couldn’t. It’s just,” you faltered, “…strange.”
Within a moment, Sherlock whirled around. His icy blue eyes began to thaw under your gaze. “I observed you have stressed: Your trousers falling to your hips instead of hanging snuggly on your waist, the dark circles under your eyes that only grew prominent by the day, the growing urge to sleep instead of join Mrs. Hudson for the weekly watch party of the latest soap opera,” Sherlock shut his mouth. He had said too much already; he shouldn’t say more, but his lips moved again. “I wasn’t the only one who noticed, John and Mrs. Hudson, too. We devised a plan to lessen the blow of our–my constant mess.”
As Sherlock spoke, you realized his words were only the truth. You had noticed you suddenly had more time to eat a meal, spend time with your favorite landlady, who was more like a mother, go on walks in the park with John, listen to Sherlock compose his latest piece, sleep, and live life as it should be lived. Amidst Sherlock’s rambling, you whispered, “Why?”
“Because we–because I care you for,” Sherlock choked.
Slowly, you remove yourself from the comfort of the couch cushions and find a place in front of Sherlock. You watch as Sherlock shudders from the touch of your hand on his cheek. “Thank you,” you said as a smile grew. “Thank you for caring when I forgot to take care of myself. Although…”
Sherlock frowned.
“…while I appreciate the sentiment of you organizing your own cases, John charging the computers, and Mrs. Hudson always preparing tea, I’d still like to be able to do my job. After all, the great Sherlock Holmes still needs to use his brain power to solve cases and save the day.”
Sherlock could only smile at that response for he'd give you anything you'd ask. "Of course. Of course, Y/N."
oo, I have an idea!!! How about Henry with a s/o who is a baker/loves baking? (I'm literally going insane over him istgghh,,,,)
OUGHHHH GONNA DO A ONESHOT, HOPE THAT'S OKAY!! HOPE YA ENJOY!! :D
"Confectionary Communications with Henry Hotline!
Tumblr media
You hummed, working away at the treats you had always created for anyone who came to the Parkour Palace that just needed that slight bit of sugar to boost their energy for their day they had planned.
You would get visitors into your kitchen on occasion(usually Frankie or Deputy Duck), but most times you would get visited by-"Ring-a-ding-ding, darling!"-Henry Hotline.
You huffed, finishing putting a sheet of cookies onto their rack as he entered. "Henry, good to see you're in high spirits." You chuckled. "Have you taken dancing lessons or are you just naturally that good at waltzing into places you shouldn't be?"
Henry threw up his hands in mock defeat. "Okay, okay, you win. But how can I help it when you bake such delicious smelling treats, darling?"
"You don't have a nose, you goof." You chuckled, noticing his sad gaze falling to the floor. "Oh, don't you give me that."
He always acted like this, so you knew his feelings weren't actually hurt. "I'm jus' sayin', your cookin' is...it's real nice and..." He mumbled.
"Baking. And I know. You say that every time." You smiled warmly. "Besides, I thought you liked salads?"
Henry gasped, putting a hand to his chest dramatically. You just rolled your eyes playfully. "I can ALWAYS make room for MY BELOVED'S baking!!"
"I mean, I did give Frankie a peanut butter cookie earlier..." You muttered just loud enough for Henry to hear, his face already reddening in jealousy, albeit slightly. "And Deputy Duck a lemon poppyseed cupcake..." Oh, now his head was ringing in jealousy.
"I told you to stay away from that fib fabricating fowl." Henry spat, jealousy clear in his tone.
"Oh, and then those other employees came by and I gave them their favorites..." You teased, chuckling as his receiver whistled. "What's the matter, baby? You're looking as red as your suit!"
"Am not." He grumbled.
"Mhm, suuuuuure, Hotline~" You teased.
"Anyone else come in to steal you from me?" He huffed, crossing his arms.
"No, but y'see, I have such a dilemma at the moment, Hotline!" You sighed dramatically, causing him to quirk an eyebrow.
"Oh? What might be your issue?" Henry asked, smirking softly, knowing where this could be leading.
"I have a whole slice of coffee cake, and nobody to share it with! What's a lowly baker like me to DO, Henry?" You lamented, leaning against the counter dramatically.
Henry's eyes widened in excitement, visibly bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Oh, but I doubt such a renowned and well-respected showhost such as yourself would care for such an...extra and delectable dessert would be to your tastes!" You bemoaned teasingly.
"Gimme, gimme, gimme!!" He giggled excitedly.
"I genuinely don't think you would enjoy it, darling. It would be awful for your image, my love..."
"GIMMEEEE!" He begged, reaching for the plate.
"Alright...if your heart is so set on it..." You relented, handing him the plate of coffee cake that had been meant for him all along.
"Yay!!!" He cheered, munching on it immediately, power-chord tail wagging furiously.
