i have maintained that the mafia in bsd operates on child grooming in order to fill its ranks with ability users but it's interesting how the agency isn't crime-free in that sense.

like, yes, the agency are the good guys, and they're generally nice to its members but this is a pretty good example of them straight up manipulating vulnerable people to join their ranks.

like yes it's humorous and Not That Serious (bc bsd is batshit crazy and stupid in like 90% of its plotpoints) but exploitation of ability users is so ubiquitous in bsd it's a little insane to look back and think yeah actually literally every organisation featuring ability users takes advantage of their misfortune at one point or another

no because i seriously will never get over tsujimura’s mother. ordering her ability not to protect tsujimura, as would be the logical command, but to prevent tsujimura from ever being able to commit murder, and as a result making her immune to ayatsuji’s ability and therefore kyougoku’s plan. kyougoku was too busy playing psychological chess with his pissy blond student while this woman was running laps around the entire cast

this is an interesting aspect of kunikida's character i think because largely it's common to see him as a malewife crashout who's a hardass about rules and propriety to almost a comic level, but in reality he's like. a cop. probably a corrupt one who doesn't want to "be constrained by rules" and doesn't "play nice".

like he's someone who's first reaction to meeting a person who's supposedly being hunted by the animal he's tasked with finding is to restrain him on the ground and threaten to cut his arm off for intel. he's also the only agency member to consistently use firearms and weaponry such as grenades.

a lot of people think he'd be awesome to have as a partner but honestly i don't exactly think he's that kind of husband material (unless you're dazai)
