Japanese ARMYs are basically the illuminati (and i say this with love)

so yall know how BTS has a bunch of exclusive content for Japanese ARMYs, right? like Yoongi’s mukbang, Namjoon teaching Korean, those cooking vids, exclusive fanmeets, merch, list goes on and on. so yeah, that’s bc the Japanese fanbase is HUGE and has insane spending power, but also, they’re known for being super respectful about sharing paid content. like, you’ll rarely see their exclusive vids floating around for free bc they actually... follow the rules. wild concept, i know.

but ALSO, i know we’ve all heard the theory that they get this special treatment bc Japanese ARMYs are generally more respectful toward BTS and their privacy. and i was like ok... interesting. bc my close friend back in my school days is japanese and she moved back to japan after graduation. also i know is an ARMY. so obv, i had to text her and ask what is up over there really.

but yeah,

turns out, Japanese ARMYs really are on another level when it comes to keeping things under wraps 😳 like, apparently, some members r/s are basically an open secret within some of the Japanese fandom groups. they know who’s dating. they’ve got timelines. PHOTOS. 😭 and yes, before u come for me, i KNOW there are absolutely insane Japanese sasaengs too. we’ve all heard the horror stories. stalkers, creepy airport moments, etc. BUT, and this is the part that got me, even the mass hysteria stays within the local fandom. like, yeah, there’s drama, there’s meltdowns, there’s people losing their minds over this info… but it almost never leaks internationally. no Twitter expose threads, no viral weverse comments, no global chaos. it’s like a sealed off ecosystem of chaos...

and this is why BTS felt comfy hanging out in Japan more often... bc there’s way less risk of getting exposed.
