“Taehyung—my boyfriend turned fiance—is the love of my life. Since day one he’s shown up for me emotionally, physically, etc. he’s been nothing but perfect since our first date. I didn’t learn this until later on, but before we met he was planning on committing suicide. Taehyung was kind by nature, life was not the same towards him, but then “he met me” as he put it. The shy girl who had kept her head down buried in the books. The girl who he caught eyeing him more than once. The girl who faintly blushed whenever he spoke to me…

He told me that he began to love me before he truly knew who I was and that once he did, he loved me even more. He called me magnetic, said everything about me attracted him—and then it happened! He asked me out. I of course said yes! That first date, that first kiss after gave me the confirmation that he was the one. Maybe he didn’t feel that way then, but I already knew.

Then there was another date, and a third and then meeting each other's families. Our respective families loved us together. The real solidifier— for me at least—was sleeping together. Six months into our more than amazing relationship and we hadn’t done anything physical. Taehyung hadn’t pressured me into anything and for that I was grateful. Though at times I was foolishly worried he wasn’t sexually attracted to me, but then we’d make out and I could feel just how turned on he was and all my worries would melt away. I wasn’t as experienced as he was. I was so nervous and in my head that I always cut it short, right before things got too intense.

He never protested or showed any negative feelings towards my refusal as previous partners of mine had done. He would just kiss my forehead and say “I’ll be right back” and then disappear into the bathroom for some minutes. And finally when I did give myself to him fully, it wasn’t his skills in the bedroom or how many times he made me finish that made me know he was the one. It was the care. The way he watched me to make sure I was okay with everything he did, the verbal coaxing of reassurance and consent out of me. How desired and loved he made me feel. To this day I refuse to say we “fucked” as cheesy as it is we made love. Taehyung loved me and I loved him.

We moved in together shortly after, recreating that night all over our newly owned shared space.

Twenty months later those feelings hadn’t changed. Taehyung even proposed!

You’d just given him a tattoo, he was so unwilling to participate in you marking him with your name that you accidentally slashed his skin a few times.

He was already shaken prior to you standing, but now he's full on thrashing as you walk closer to the bed. You hold back a chuckle as you notice him struggling against the restraints you placed on him, stroking his tear stained cheeks, you smile. “You’re so cute, baby…” Your thumb dips lower to the smooth expanse of skin stretching across his collarbone over your inked name. “You need to help me come up with a good story so I can let you leave the house, Taehyungie,” You pout at him reaching up to caress his hair. “I was thinking we could try a different tone, you know spice it up? Try something a little edgier? Hm? How’s that sound?” You lean closer to him, which only further terrifies him.

“I thought about us meeting at a bar…getting incredibly drunk and getting tattoos of each others names, but then I thought that’s too cliche,” You wave your hand in the air dismissing the idea, “that story’s been done before…people would ask why didn’t we just get them removed and go our separate ways…” You notice the spark of hope within his eyes at the mere mention of having your name removed. “That's why I decided I’m going to brand you instead.” He whimpers helplessly against your makeshift gag causing you to kiss his wet cheeks. “I know baby, I know, but it makes us so much more interesting. Tattoos aren’t forever, but if I do this…” He rapidly shakes his head making himself one with the wall as you hold the glowing metal near his hip. “We’ll be connected always and forever.”
