StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Seven: Vandermorgan

Overjoyed that her alien impregnation process succeeded, Jill invites Leon over to share the news with Buck. He's known Jill all her life to be happily childfree, so he does raise an eyebrow that she pulled a Pollination Technician to help a friend... on the other hand, as Jill has informed him, PTs historically don't involve themselves in the childrearing process. Jill's own father essentially ignored his first two daughters before committing to being a family man, and those daughters resisted the alien urge to pollinate by having no children of their own (at least, that's the conclusion Jill has come to). And Buck thought his family situation was complicated..!

Meanwhile, Tara gets the concerned side eye from Lily in the hot tub because she knows that her brother Marco only just asked Leela out, and now it looks like he's putting the moves on another girl. It's an awkward soak.

Gender bent Strangetown

Welcome to Strangetown, or what was Strangetown. Either a science experiment has gone wrong or a slip in the multiverse occurred, Strangetown is a little... different.

What started out as a simple idea back in April as an April Fool's Day prank has now become reality. Strangetown but the genders have been swapped.

This neighborhood was made using Sims 2 Ultimate Collection so you will most definitely need all the packs to get this working properly. Think of this as V1 however since I have not renovated a single lot but since I used the Gussy Up mod, the sims will not be in their original spots.

First off is the name changes and it's not just the first names:

There is no CC needed to download this neighborhood as I went above and beyond to even take out my defaults to make sure they’d look decent for people who use strictly maxis. HOWEVER I highly recommend Less Gendered Face Templates if you wish to have the faces look somewhat resembling of the OG sims.

The reason behind the last name changes:

The Grunts are still somewhat called the Grunts, but I noticed that in the original Strangetown, Lyla and Buzz were divorced before she died, and her maiden name was Vandermorgan, the kids should have that last name too. Just think of it as Beatrice has changed her last name back to her maiden name.

For the Beakers I figured Charis would keep his last name and then it snowballed into Lilja would have it too, so they became Salamis’

For the Smiths I decided it wasn’t necessary to name them the Curiouses as well since there is so many of them. That and we all know male Jenny would be a malewife to his devoted alien wife

For the Specters I figured Oliver would keep his last name Muenda and I changed Onyx’s to Muenda because it never settled right with me giving a POC sim the last name Nigmos

Downloading is simple, for now it is only on sfs but that will change in the future hopefully.

to install this hood, unzip the file and go to your Documents/EA Games/Sims 2 Ultimate Collection/Neighborhood folder and plop it in there.

Tiffany gets some grey in her fur, Taron heads to La Fiesta Tech and joins Finn in the fraternity, Jill studies her magic, and Marco woos Tara. Buck has also finally conceded that the upkeep on this house is ridiculous, so the family decides to move. We'll see their new place next round!

The Vandermorgans are the first to debut my switch back to maxis hairs (mostly via @spookymuffinsims' defaults, here). Jill likes what she sees on Buck! Other than that, nothing major happens apart from Lily becoming a teenager and joining her big brothers in going to private school. The family still isn't that rich but they're in too deep keeping up appearances to back out now!

River didn’t get the memo about coordinated overalls for boys night. They still look fierce though.

Naenae expresses her desire to join the Strangetown PD - once the baby is born and she feels ready to rejoin the workforce, of course. Buck wants to be a full time dad so the arrangement will ultimately work out for them; his inner child just balks a little at the thought of law enforcement making her a different person. This intrusive thought brought to you by General Buzz Grunt...

Baby Taron is born and cool uncle Ripp is the first on the scene. All he has to do is be a well-adjusted influence and not totally mess with this kid’s head!...Yeah, the General did a number on these lads...

StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Three: Vandermorgan

Buck and Jill have been dating and their latest dream date ends with public woohoo in the town photobooth. That fulfills Jill’s LTW to have ten dream dates and Buck grows up well to the elder stage.

Middle child Marco is now a teen so hopefully I will find it easier to tell him apart from big brother Taron. Jill, now an elder, moves in to support Buck (in all kinds of ways). She brings along her canine familiar, Piper, and some cash for the family funds. The Vandermorgans appear rich but they’re still cash poor after so many rounds. None of them want to get jobs, lol.

StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Three: Smith

Classic Strangetown pair Buck and Jill find their way back to each other and fall in love. Jill might be JoAnn’s new muse for the next Printer Sisters record.

Brighton ages up from a toddler to a child, with Virginia squeaking in a nursery rhyme lesson before his birthday. Nana Daytona taught her that rhythm and diction are very important qualities to instill from an early age!

Baby Jewel is born. JoAnn: “Look what I made!”

StrangeSpot, Round Seven: Loner

All Ginger wants to do right now is hang out with her friends and have some fun. Even if it’s past midnight - especially if it’s past midnight! Her peers don’t bat an eye at her werewolf form and she feels so free under the stars.

Ajay catches her sneaking out one night. He understands why Ginger is doing what she’s doing - he’s trying to distract himself from missing Lana too - but one wrong move as a lycanthrope could be dangerous. Supernatural or not, at the end of the day, he’s a worried father.

DIY is the literal death of Naenae when she receives a fatal electric shock from faulty wiring in the dishwasher. Tiffany, the only witness, alerts the household to her passing by howling. Buck is devastated - he’s lost both of his big brothers in tragic accidents, and now his wife too? Life is so unfair!

Lily still grows up well into the child stage, thank goodness.

Since Marco has started private school along with Taron, Naenae wants to mould her children a little bit and get them to make the most out of their lessons. She enlists Marco’s help to clean up around the house (the McMansion requires a lot of dusting and they can’t afford a maid to help with upkeep yet!). She then encourages Taron to be lazy and playful (”work smarter, not harder!”). If Marco didn’t feel like The Middle Child before, he does now...

Lily ages up to a toddler and Buck is pleased he was able to braid her hair so well. She’s adorable!
