StrangeSpot, Round Thirty Three: Research (Uni)
Sylvan and Dot fall in love. It's a good match because they can be immortal, forever, together. As long as the relationship works out, anyway.
Anna's hung up her cowgirl hat to show off a lovely side braid, and Tara looks adorable with her freckles showing through her fur.

So I don't know if you've ever seen Adventure Time, but there's this one flashback scene where one of the characters is crying about how everyone leaves her. Eventually she tries to convince herself that she scares people away on purpose, and that people keep leaving because she wants them to.
The entire scene makes me think of little Tara.
HAVE I EVER SEEN ADVENTURE TIME? I'm struggling to hold back the door of Marceline feelings about to burst open at any moment.
Love the new icon btw, and our new non-binary icon the babyboi.
Tara is the one thing all these people who leave her have in common, so of course it's her fault they leave. She's not good enough to stay for. So she stops giving people a reason to stay.
God, imagine if we could have had Tara actively trying to push people away in 6. She's a little meaner, a little more abrasive and argumentative. Her thing with Chad is him trying to get her to stop pushing them all away, culminating with him telling Tara that he sees her in the shrine (and then the Ghostfaces turn up), so we still get her being emotional about Chad at the end and kissing him. She's constantly pushing Sam away, up until they're being attacked and she's pulling her close, afraid to let go. She rolls her eyes at Mindy until she gets hurt in the apartment, where she sits shoulder-to-shoulder with her in the ambulance. She'll push them all away to protect herself, but when they need her she's there because despite it all she doesn't want to hurt them, she just wants to know they'll stay.

The sensation that started was an odd one in his chest, one that had his brows furrowing. Until it bowled over him like a wave, sending the prince to a knee in the water, much to the shock and concern of his nearby guards. A hand clutched at his chest, the other pressed to the sand beneath. Plants dying, but not in the usual manner. A large amount of energy was being siphoned from them all at once. "What..."
----
"What the hell?" From where she was at in Brecaea's party, Tara's knees threatened to buckle at the wave of power sapping from the land-- somewhere in the distance? Not close, certainly. She braced herself against a nearby stand, refusing to let any see Seelie's princess on her knees. She waved off her concerned guards' approach with a forced smile, ignoring the looks from the onlookers, and grit her teeth. She'd seek out her father, she supposed.
----
The king glanced off into the distance, Seòras' words now only a distant hum in his ears. He sensed a disturbance somewhere. His knowledge of the geography of this world was still fuzzy, but it seemed to be in the direction of the other land, where the other half of this party was being held. A being was stealing away a great deal of power from the land. At Seòras' concerned words, for his advisor had now noticed his king's state of distraction, Oisean waved the other man's concern off and turned to a nearby guard. "Go find my children, and bring them here." He could weather this sudden instability just fine, but the children were younger and may be more sensitive to it.

The mass 4t2 default-ening gave Helen a mohawk that looks just like the one Daisy had. She decides to keep it, in honour of her sister.
Taron has a change of heart about lycanthropy and reaches out to Lily for the cure. They both agree Jill, their dad's ex-girlfriend who cheated on him with their brother Marco, will make good cowplant milk for Taron's cure. What Taron doesn't realise is Lily thought the same of Marco when it came to curing her lycanthropy... yikes.

Happy Mother's Day! A Buddhist Mindfulness Perspective
I wish all Mother's a day filled with peace, love and kindness. Today is a day that we remember to show our respect, love and gratitude:
Once this day is over, Mother's Day, the holiday will come again next year. But whether our mothers are here or no longer with us, mindfulness practitioners are instructed each day of our lives to recollect on the kindness of our Mothers.
Therefore, I wanted to express my thanks and share thoughts about the importance of our parents, from a Buddhist perspective.
The following is a short excerpt from the "Sutra about the Deep Kindness of Parents and the Difficulty of Repaying it", in which the Buddha instructs the monks of the kindnesses of a mother.
The Sutra states:
"There are ten types of kindnesses bestowed by the mother on the child.
1. The kindness of providing protection and care while the child is in the womb.
2. The kindness of bearing suffering during birth.
3. The kindness of forgetting the pain once the child has been born.
4. The kindness of eating the least and worst for herself and saving the best for her child.
5. The kindness of moving the child to a safer and more comfortable place even at the cost of her own discomfort.
6. The kindness of feeding the child at her breast and nourishing and bringing up the child.
7. The kindness of washing away the unclean.
8. The kindness of always thinking of the child when it has travelled far.
9. The kindness of deep care and devotion.
10. The kindness of ultimate compassion and sympathy.'
The Sutra elaborates on these acts of kindness, and also how the heedlessness of children hurts their parents.
Ananda and the monks are deeply moved by what the Buddha tells them, and in considering the hardships faced by parents, are brought to weeping. They ask what they can possibly do to repay their parents for their kind deeds, and the Buddha tells them to recite the sutra, hold the precept of pure eating, cultivate gratitude, and purify and resolve any ethical or moral lapses.
So again, to all the beautiful Mother's out there - Have a very special and Happy Mother's Day- today and every day! We are grateful.

AU of the balcony scene
Bailey doesn’t go upstairs to behind Quinn but instead stays on the bottom floor so when Tara drops down and stabs Ethan in the throat Bailey sees and violently tackles Tara off Ethan, attacking her with the knife that Ethan stabbed her with, Sam witnesses this ,horrified and guilty, she freezes and the gun almost slips from her fingers. Quinn takes this opportunity going to tackle Sam and………
Why do you want to kill my babies?
Tara would get absolutely demolished by an angry Bailey. We're talking Sam-level stabbings. I mean, he was so upset about what Sam did to Richie, why wouldn't he do to her little sister what she did to his son?
Sam has the gun, but she's too horrified by what she's seeing to react. Quinn leaps at her, slashing out. Sam throws out her arm, elbowing Quinn as the knife goes into her shoulder. She now has matching wounds. Quinn grabs back at her, they struggle, they go over the railing.
Sam lands on Ethan's body, it prevents her from being knocked out. Quinn can't say the same, head smacking against the floor.
The gun has slipped from her hand, she doesn't have time to search for it, she throws herself at Bailey. Tara's gasping on the floor, bleeding and injured but alive. She's alive and Sam's going to fucking make sure it stays that way. She punches and punches and punches. Eventually, he manages to push her off, throwing her to the floor. He goes to punch her back when a shot rings out. His chest begins to bleed and Sam scrambles back as he falls to his need, hand over his heart.
Behind her, Tara lies on her side, missing gun in hand. There's so much blood, she's been stabbed over a dozen times. Sam crawls to her, pulling her into her arms. She's not going to let her sister die, she's not, but that doesn't stop the tears from falling anyway.
