2024 APRIL 05 Easter Friday
"Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes.
This is the day the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD;
we bless you from the house of the LORD.
The LORD is God, and He has given us light."
~ Psalms 118:1,22-24,26-27a

okay everytime I finish an episode I go on wikipedia to read about the production and the entry for The City on the Edge of Forever is SO MUCH LONGER than all the other ones that I’ve read so far. The production sounds like absolute hellfire. Some vintage 56 year old drama for anyone who want to read about it lmao.

Organization of the Work
1 Then the high priest Eliashib set to work with his fellow priests and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They consecrated it and set up its doors; they consecrated it as far as the Tower of the Hundred and as far as the Tower of Hananel. 2 And the men of Jericho built next to him. And next to them Zaccur son of Imri built.
3 The sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars. 4 Next to them Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz made repairs. Next to them Meshullam son of Berechiah son of Meshezabel made repairs. Next to them Zadok son of Baana made repairs. 5 Next to them the Tekoites made repairs, but their nobles would not put their shoulders to the work of their Lord.
6 Joiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah repaired the Old Gate; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars. 7 Next to them repairs were made by Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite—the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah—who were under the jurisdiction of the governor of the province Beyond the River. 8 Next to them Uzziel son of Harhaiah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs. Next to him Hananiah, one of the perfumers, made repairs, and they restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall. 9 Next to them Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs. 10 Next to them Jedaiah son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house, and next to him Hattush son of Hashabneiah made repairs. 11 Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-moab repaired another section and the Tower of the Ovens. 12 Next to him Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs, he and his daughters.
13 Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate; they rebuilt it and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars and repaired a thousand cubits of the wall, as far as the Dung Gate.
14 Malchijah son of Rechab, ruler of the district of Beth-haccherem, repaired the Dung Gate; he rebuilt it and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.
15 And Shallum son of Col-hozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah, repaired the Fountain Gate; he rebuilt it and covered it and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars, and he built the wall of the Pool of Shelah of the King’s Garden, as far as the stairs that go down from the city of David. 16 After him Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of half the district of Beth-zur, repaired from a point opposite the graves of David, as far as the artificial pool and the House of the Warriors. 17 After him the Levites made repairs: Rehum son of Bani; next to him Hashabiah, ruler of half the district of Keilah, made repairs for his district. 18 After him their kin made repairs: Binnui, son of Henadad, ruler of half the district of Keilah; 19 next to him Ezer son of Jeshua, ruler of Mizpah, repaired another section opposite the ascent to the armory at the Angle. 20 After him Baruch son of Zabbai repaired another section from the Angle to the door of the house of the high priest Eliashib. 21 After him Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz repaired another section from the door of the house of Eliashib to the end of the house of Eliashib. 22 After him the priests, the men of the surrounding area, made repairs. 23 After them Benjamin and Hasshub made repairs opposite their house. After them Azariah son of Maaseiah son of Ananiah made repairs beside his own house. 24 After him Binnui son of Henadad repaired another section, from the house of Azariah to the Angle and to the corner. 25 Palal son of Uzai repaired opposite the Angle and the tower projecting from the upper house of the king at the court of the guard. After him Pedaiah son of Parosh 26 and the temple servants living on Ophel made repairs up to a point opposite the Water Gate on the east and the projecting tower. 27 After him the Tekoites repaired another section opposite the great projecting tower as far as the wall of Ophel.
28 Above the Horse Gate the priests made repairs, each one opposite his own house. 29 After them Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his own house. After him Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, made repairs. 30 After him Hananiah son of Shelemiah and Hanun sixth son of Zalaph repaired another section. After him Meshullam son of Berechiah made repairs opposite his living quarters. 31 After him Malchijah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and of the merchants, opposite the Muster Gate, and to the upper room of the corner. 32 And between the upper room of the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and the merchants made repairs. — Nehemiah 3 | New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition (NRSVUE) New Revised Standard Version, Updated Edition. Quick Thought – Thursday, May 19, 2022
Read Matthew 20:1-16 “‘Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’ So the last will be first, and the first last.” Matthew 20:15-16 Reflect Today’s scripture tells a story that some people might not think is fair. Here’s what it would look like today. Stan is building a house and needs workers to help him, so he goes down the road at 6 a.m.…

@paradoxolotl wrote one of the cutest andreil fics, Necromancy for Children, and I love it because it makes Neil work at the place I currently work at! BAB, or Build a Bear Workshop.
However, because I work at BAB now, all I can think about (with the lovely @jtl-fics encouraging) an AFTG AU where the foxes are a team of Bear Builders. Wymack is the General Manager, Abby is the Assistant Manger, Dan, Allison, Renee, and Seth are all team leads (Matt is in training to become a lead as well they just need to hire more builders first) and the Monsters are the rest of the crew.
Kevin transfered in from the West Virginia branch to the south Carolina branch because he recently found out that Wymack is his dad but oh no, now his dad is his boss.
This is not Aaron's only job as he pushes himself through medical school. He also works at the cafe that everyone frequents because it's just a walk across the street away. Sometimes, he even comes into BAB smelling like coffee and pastries. He also has another job at a book store closer to the apartment he, Andrew, Nicky, and now Kevin all share. Now Kaitlyn also works at the cafe and the bookstore. However, she and Aaron met during their classes then found out later that they also worked together.
Andrew is just there for the kids. He doesn't express it, but he likes how the young kids light up when he's helping them build their new friends. Andrew is also working for his tuition but he's going to community College to improve his writing skills as he works on his manuscript.
Nicky once again is in the US for the twins. Adopting them as soon as he was able and working hard until they also started working. Nicky is the other person along Matt in the run to be a Team Lead. They just need more employees first.
Neil is a new hire that everyone is unsure of, besides Kevin. Kevin saw him interview at his old store then never saw him return even after his old Managers spoke highly of his interview. He's not inexperienced, though. He's worked at multiple BABs and knows the rules and standards by heart. The binders are his Bible. He'll read them for fun. Master of the Bonus Club captures and Bonus Gift Cards.
Matt is a relatively new hire that was hired on seasoned a year or two ago that just stayed after everyone else left. He and Seth got along immediately, which led Seth and Allison setting him up with Dan as a little double date senario. Renee and Matt used to work together at a local bookstore, but they were let go when the owner couldn't keep it running. Matt ended up working at a sports store, his unique knowledge of boxing coming in handy while Renee went into retail at a small clothing business catered to folks looking for stylish clothes that also followed religious modesty requirements.
Seth is the longest employee besides Wymack and Abby (they've been at this store sense it was first opened). He was, in fact, one of the first people Wymack and Abby hired after getting promoted. Seth, by experience, knows the rules and regulations by heart. He helped Allison, Renee, and Dan all learn the ropes.
Dan and Allison were both interviewed and hired and trained the same days. They quickly became bffs and Dan and Renee had a friendly competition when she was hired on. The girls have become so close they hang out outside if work frequently. Wymack and Abby learned to schedule them at least one day off that lines up.

The Last World: Dark Fantasy novel concept inspired by Dark Souls and the bible:
The God of the world grew to hate the inhabitants of his creation, and so he brought down a cataclysm to destroy them, so that he might repopulate the Earth. But centuries after the cataclysm, four cities still remain. Growing tired of waiting for the cities to die out on their own, God sent down a slayer in the form of a mute soldier made of bronze, clay, and sand.
The Soldier washes up on the shores of Sidon, another survivor city that a few decades earlier was defeated by the others. They're found by Magenel, the last knight of Sidon, still patrolling its now empty corpse-strewn beaches. Initially thinking the Soldier an enemy, Magenel learns through a vision about the Soldier's mission to avenge Sidon by slaying its enemies. And so he joins them on their quest.
First they must leave Sidon through the haunted bridge, where the remnants of 100,000 dead soldiers cling on to life to stop anybody from crossing. Once they make it to the mainland they head to Jericho.
The Living Walls of Jericho, reinforced with the bodies of the city's inhabitants, try to stop them. But they sneak through the living city's lungs and veins into its heart, where they slay its king. They then run away as the city, long merged with its monarch, collapses around them.
Next they travel to the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, where time stands still. Long ago, the cities violated a treaty of mutually assured destruction against one another. Thankfully, just in time the mages of both cities activated a spell to hold time in place to prevent the destruction from raining on both cities. The Soldier and Magenel try to attack the time mages directly, but they're caught and defeated, separated through time.
The Soldier is sent back in time to the day of the mutually assured destruction. They try but cannot defeat the forces of Sodom and are trapped in the city's dungeons. There they help incite a riot using visions of the city's future. This causes the visions to come true, and soon the treaty of mutually assured destruction is broken. The day of destruction arrives. The Soldier is then sent back to the present. Or so they think.
In truth they're sent too far forward by decades. The Soldier travels to the city of Gommorah where Magenel has been fighting alone all this time. Helping him, together they defeat the time mages, ending the time freeze and escaping back in time to the present to witness both cities destroyed. Magenel then reveals that in those decades he was trapped in Gomorrah he learned things, including the Soldier's actions in the past. He questions why the Soldier didn't try to change things for the better. He decides to leave for the final city, Babylon, on his own.
After a long time wandering through the desert, the Soldier arrives at Babylon. The city is home to the refugees of all the world, who all work as builders on the city's central tower. They hope that by reaching the heavens, they can escape their hellish existence on Earth. The Soldier fights through Babylon's defenses, that are well prepared for them.
They rise floor by floor, defeating the challenges and obstacles put to them by Babylon's leadership. For each obstacle they overcome, a piece of their armor is lost, and so they replace it with a piece of their slain enemy. By the time they reach the unfinished tower's final floor to face the king, they're a Frankenstein's Monster of different parts.
But it's not the King waiting for them at the top. He’s been long dead, a mere symbol for the people of Babylon to rally behind. The one awaiting the Soldier of God is Magenel. And he knows what the Soldier has been fighting for all this time.
He's regretful for being blind and fool thinking that he was working towards a restoration of a false past. He’s sorry for slaying his enemies, realizing that now that Babylon is dead, the hope to rebuild is truly gone. Or is it? The ingredients to start anew and the plans still exist. He could rebuild, if given the time. And he has all the time in the world. So long as he can defeat the Soldier.
And so the final battle commences. Magenel is more skilled and powerful than any enemy the Soldier faced so far. He learned the techniques of all the kingdoms and now fights for humanity's past and future. Still, the Soldier is beyond human, especially now. Magenel loses, perishes. And with him humanity's hope for redemption.
God then comes down to the tower to congratulates his slayer for a job well done before he turns him back to sand. And with the Soldier, the rest of the world dies as well, washed away into nothingness as God starts anew.
Until the next time he's displeased with his creation...

The Wise and Foolish Builders
24 Everyone therefore who hears these words of Mine and does them shall be likened to a prudent man who built his house upon the rock. 25 And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and they beat against that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand. 27 And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and they dashed against that house; and it fell, and its fall was great. — Matthew 7:24-27 | Recovery version (REC) The Recovery Version of the Holy Bible © 2009 Living Stream Ministry. Tower of Babel Talon Abraxas
'The city Babel is the Ham-like man, who builds this city upon the earth; the tower is his self-chosen god, and divine worship. All reason-taught, from the school of this world, are the master-builders of this tower.' —Jakob Böhme
The Man of the Zohar Remember that we always address the Man of Zohar, which is an imaginary entity, whose head is symbolized by the infinite, which is the compound of all of the galaxies that exist in the universe. So, the head of that imaginary man of the Zohar, which is called the "Arik Anpin," is in the infinite; all of the galaxies of the infinite rotate around that head. The chest of Arik Anpin is symbolized by one Galaxy, which is called the Macrocosm, and is where you find the twelve zodiacal signs rotating around his heart. Then, by descending to his lower part, to his waist, you find our solar system or any solar system from any galaxy, that rotates around the waist or hips of that gigantic man. So, the sun or any sun that is the center of any solar system shines in the sexual organs of that Arik Anpin, the Man of Zohar. Finally, by going down through his body we find that the Earth is at the level of his feet. The right foot of that man is on the ground and his left foot is sunk in the waters of the sea. So the planet on which he is standing is of course the planet Earth. So, this is how the whole of this man is described.
In Kabbalah the whole of this is symbolized by Hebrew letters Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei.
The infinite is symbolized by the Hebrew letter "Iod" The galaxy is symbolized by the Hebrew letter "Hei" The solar system is symbolized by the Hebrew letter "Vav" The planet Earth is symbolized by the Hebrew letter "Hei"
This is how we cosmologically symbolize the famous Tetragrammaton, which is the holy name of God.
