👀 From that time @deadhoarse and I tag teamed MCR at North Star Bar in Philly 2003-05-14. Rare occurrence for me to hold a camera. Not so rare for deadhoarse to juggle two recorders for audience & soundboard.
What are your thoughts on the original track order for Revenge? (Included on the sheet with the first vinyl press, google it for a link)
I think it's a very interesting different pacing. Also the way I promise it's the last time was meant to end the record with a spoken outro by DARYL PALUMBO where the character kills himself? we need the revenge out takes someday.
(link from anon)
+ some extra info i found on reddit (drummer matt)
the original tracklist: to the end, give em hell, venom, ghost of you, never told you, hang em high, prison, cemetery drive, catholics (interlude?), helena, fashion statement, i promise it's the last time (not okay)
before getting into ur initial question, i would really really really (pretty please?) love revenge demos for its 20th birthday. and bury me studio or live release... im living in fantasy world considering what reprise did for bullets20 🤦♀️
anyhow, this is an interesting thing to think about. i dont really care for the 1000 evil men story. im also really bad at imagining alternatives to finished products. but i love the thematic narrative of three cheers. talked about the significance of helena as opener here. to the end as opener is actually really fun in setting up a gothic setting for the album -- the first line setting place ("he calls the mansion-") rather than time ("long ago-"). the 1-2-3 punch of helena -> fashion -> not okay is very good. esp if not okay was at some point more macabre. but you miss on the circulatory of never told you with both demo lovers and helena! "im trying" into "i tried" -- and "we'll meet again when both our car collide" into "can i meet you alone".
but actually ive been thinking about the motif of photographs in not okay, never told you, and to the end. "photographs your boyfriend took", "the photograph that i gave you" and "she keeps a picture of the body she lends" -- so there's a narrative link here... that i dont know the significance of lol.... something about fame and body image and trust. big theme in three cheers. kind of like "we'll meet again", though it isnt very macabre, gothic, or begrieved.
tbh maybe reprise shouldve stepped in to throw out morris in hang em high too. he distracts meeee... idk if spoken word fits into an album so quick and killer. wouldve had to be really good. cant find a source of the spoken work being a suicide, but i know that gerard only came up with the "suicide ending" after the album was released
OH BOY! i have spent the better part of three days working on my love letter to i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love. and finally, here it is: sixteen individual pages (a front cover, two intro pages, eleven pages for eleven tracks, a thank you note, a back cover) available for you to read here.
if you’d like to print a version of this, you can download the pdf for free here. it’s set up for printing already, so just be sure to print on both sides and on the short edge! if you want to send me a tip as thanks, you can here :)
i’ll upload the cover (without the text about it being a zine) and each song to my redbubble later, if you want poster versions!
Hey! So Bullets 20th Anniversary is coming up, and I happen to own two different copies of it on CD; the 2002* printing, and the 2005 Enhanced CD reprint. I thought it’d be cool to make a little post that highlights some the slight physical differences between the two**!
* I have NO idea which edition my 2002 one is. I can just gather from discogs that it’s a VERY early variant, possibly first edition 2nd printing.
** I AM NOT SUPER WELL VERSED IN ALBUM/CD COLLECTING! So these are just quick visual differences!
Front Cover:
Overall the colour on the 2002 version is much much more muted, but here here are key differences
1 - The numbers along the spine of the 2002 version are MUCH duller / not as crisp. This is apparent in all the font.
2 - Like mentioned, the colouring is not nearly as saturated/contrasted. You’ll be able to notice this in other photos.
Spine:
1 & 2 - Again, the font difference! 2002 has a MUCH larger logo, and the album name is more spread out, and not as crisp as 2005.
3 - One of the most notable things you’ll see is the catalogue number! 2002 printings will have EB-022
Back Cover:
1 - The muted colors! Because of the photo quality, you can’t REALLY notice it, but check out the difference in blacks!
2 - 2002 versions have Eyeballs first studio address listed on the back, which is in NY. Other printings have their later location in NJ.
3 - Barcode! My 2002 variant does NOT have a barcode! Others do, though. Also note the Enhanced CD over the barcode of the 2005 version.
4 - The font is not nearly as crisp on the 2002 variant, also notice how the coloring is a lot more yellow than then 2005 version.
Inner Booklet:
You can REALLY see the difference in colour here! It is also a clearer picture of the spine.
CD:
1 - The Eyeball logo is MUCH larger in the 2002 version, and my variant in particular has a bit of a misprint/messy looking lines. I think other 2002 variants have a much clearer/crisp lines (but I’m not 100% sure!)
2 - Again, the catalogue number.
3 - 2005 Enhanced CD!
4 - The holder thingy (v technical, I know) in the 2005 version, is on a hinge - so you are able to move the cd and read the back page without the plastic in the way.
Back Cover:
Very noticeable difference here!
Booklet:
Again, noticeable changes were made! Also to note - the actual paper in my 2002 variant is A LOT thicker than the 2005, which is cool

Ok! I think that’s all!! Feel free to ask any questions or such. I love answering anything about old lore / merch.
was talking to my dad and he said “yknow what would make you HATE them? if you went to the concert and they ONLY played their new stuff. Ha!” and it’s like dad they haven’t made new music for 10 years this isn’t like when you saw Guns n Roses and they only played their newest songs. if they played a brand new album I would die.
look I’m not a producer I am not an audio editing wizard but do you guys wanna see something kinda cool that will flip the way you listen to foundations
