i have so many things i want to say about everything but i do remember the moment where mike (playfully) accused will of lying and it makes so much more sense now i thought he was just being smug as hell like “oh ofc you would’ve kissed me two months ago i am just that spectacular” but no. i’m sorry for doubting you michael you DEFINITELY had grounds for that claim. out of focus eye to eye kidnapped my firstborn and left a changeling in its place. lives were ruined in the best possible way.

exactlyyyyy you get it! the way you worded this ask actually made me want to make a little note about why we wrote the reference in, because it was very intentional and there were a couple different reasons for it which i think are both very important !! (but obviously could not mention here before out of focus dropped)

1. obviously it was a Reference, in that we thought this is a big enough piece of lore that it would be weird for it to never ever come up even once, but the whole idea of the companion fic was that it kind of has an ambiguous ending and even mike was not super duper 100000% sure of will’s intentions (due to the #inebriation). so it was unlikely at this point in their dynamic that they were going to have a real fleshed out conversation about it because it would definitely need both of them to be vulnerable in a way they were Not ready to be at the time (will admitting to wanting to kiss mike/mike admitting to having wanted to be kissed? noooo way). mike is kind of testing the waters here (and being annoying on purpose) but from his pov will either still does not remember or does remember but does not want to talk about it, so it doesn’t really go anywhere anyway. but alsoooooo

2. another remnant of the post ch05 era specifically was a lot of people commenting things along the lines of “omg mike is being so flirty” “where did that confidence come from” etc etc which is so true bc poor will got absolutely blindsided by it and it was so fun to write but!! the idea also is that half it was that confidence boost you get after realizing that someone is also into you/attracted to You and i think mike would’ve taken that and ran with it for sureee (esp bc will initiated the ch04 kiss And the ch05 morning kiss mostly) and the other half was mike having information that the readers and will both did not have! a majorrrrrrrr driving force of acswy is the fact that neither of them are ever working with All of the information, hence the unreliable narration, hence the drama and history and them both being so annoying and unserious, etc etc etc. i think that’s important to keep in mind, especially now that we’re in the ch09 era where their dynamic has shifted pretty drastically since their rivals era in the beginning, or even chapters 04/05. 😗😗😗

i’m actually very glad no one Really picked up on this being a Thing when ch07 dropped bc it was supposed to be super subtle (obviously a couple people said 🤨 am i missing something? and we said No 😌) but the reactions we’re getting now have been incredibly fulfilling and have been just what we were hoping to get, which tells us we are writing this story right! sorry for ruining your life and the changeling baby but thank you sooo much for the lovely ask <33

I was reading up on Lucifer (The Sandman's) Wiki page, but the comic version, and I read that Lucifer can choose a soul's destination, and they killed someone by their own will, so that they'd be free from (I think) a demon's service.

Soooo I was wondering if I could request Lucifer x fem reader? They're in love but reader is a mortal, so they beg Luci to kill them so that 1) they can be free from this shitty world but also 2) so that they can be together.

“What?” The look on Lucifer’s face was of disbelief, truly they looked at you as if you were insane to even bring up the idea.

“There’s only so much time you can spend in the waking, and I have nothing here Lucifer. No reason to stay. So- kill me, we found a way to be together forever. You wouldn’t have to leave your realm constantly, I wouldn’t miss you so much, we could have so much time.”

Still, Lucifer looked anything but convinced.

“I’m gonna die anyways! I would preferred not having to wait like 80 years just so I can freely be with you.” You were stubborn but so are they. “Then wait. Why, why do you so freely wish to give up your life for Hell. What’s another 80 years if I’ll have an eternity with you by the end of it.”

“Wont I be like super old? You want to be with a super old me? I certainly don’t want to look any older than I am now for the rest of eternity, thank you!” That was a poor argument, you knew that. But you felt as if this was actually becoming an argument and you sure as hell didn’t want that to be the case.

“I can’t do that.” They quietly replied, hands coming up to cup your face. “Fuck the laws, since when are you anything but rebellious!” You were so set on this idea. Lucifer sighed, they almost looked, sad? “I don’t care about the laws. I care about you, much more than anything else, much more than I’d usually feel comfortable admitting. My darling, I can’t kill you.”

Sure you’ve been together for years, you know how you feel about eachother you know they love you more than anything. But hearing that admission, basically a confession- so openly made you pause. What are you even supposed to say after that?

“You die and then what? You just leave your whole life behind, quite literally. You simply move to hell? What comes after? What are your expectations, what do you want from this?” Being alive for so many eons you’d guess it’s impossible to stop thinking about the future, about any and all possibilities.

“Nothing! I just want to be with you. I don’t care what i have to go through or have to get used to once I’m there. I just want to be with you why is that so difficult to understand?” Why don’t 𝙮𝙤𝙪 understand.

“Hell isn’t me. You need to understand that, it’s not a book trope, it’s not a person who softens up to you. It’s a place meant for sin, judgment and punishment. Hell is not fun, it’s freezing, it smells of sulfur and smoke, there is no such thing as peace and quiet there. I can keep you sheltered inside the walls of my castle. Outside of that, it is just hell.”

“Then I’ll stay by your side, inside the castle, and I’ll learn. Id only have so many years to learn how to live there after all.” You’re not letting this go until they give in or the day you naturally die and they know that.

You knew their mind was running through every little detail of how this could work, of how they’d find the strength to actually kill you, how you could be by their side, how hell could actually be your home.

“Is this truly what would please you?” They searched your eyes for any hesitation, for doubt, but they couldn’t find any. “To start Our forever now? More than anything. I have nothing here to will hold me back, I have a home when I’m with you, Lucifer.”

Lucifer sighed, arms wrapping around you once again. “I, I will find a way, if you truly insist. I will ensure your comfort, that you are to die quickly and painlessly, and when you wake it will be in the safety of my arms.”

“I couldn’t dream of anything better!” You were visibly giddy now that you got your way. “Peculiar little being. Nobody has ever been this excited about death or hell.”

You giggled and spoke proudly, “Death is a friend, and the lord of hell is my lover, I wouldn’t expect to be called anything but peculiar.”

Was it a terrifying idea to Lucifer? Definitely. No argument there. But seeing how you practically lit up when Lucifer complied maybe made it all worth it.

It’s just really lamentable for Roy because he shares the GBA generation with:

His father Eliwood who, admittedly, isn’t super duper fun by himself either but 1) he’s got some stuff like Hector and Ninian going at least and 2) works perfect in the Lord Trifecta there and thus feels good to have around anyways.

Hector, who is a spicy capricious mcnugget the entire way through (contrasting with Lyn’s serious, dutiful nature) and, if Nergal’s own words in Hector Mode are anything to go by, THE single biggest wrench that ultimately ruined his plans, more so than Eliwood, and has the honor of being the first Axe Lord, as well as being an abject monster of a unit in FE7.

Lyn, who I don’t have to tell you is a fan favorite with an iconic design and plenty choice bits of dialogue, especially as her serious, no non-sense nature clashed with Hector’s devil may care behavior, and just like Hector was the first Axe Lord, Lyndis was the first female Lord, and also an incredible unit in her game.

Eirika & Ephraim, who are only passingly normal because they are burdened with a HUGE HEAVY duty from second 0 of the game right up until the very end of it, and who the game makes no secret would be, if they weren’t dutybound at the moment, HUGE GOOFY WEIRDOS, as one can immediately see on their supports, where they come across as Seinfeldian characters in European Fantasy setting, they are just plain fucking weird (affectionate) in a humorous, endearing way. They definitely add to Sacred Stones being a classic fan favorite in the franchise.

and then you have Roy who is a generic Kid Hero(tm) with mediocre stat growths and literally nothing else. In a game with, like, Echidna, Geese, Gonzalez, Fir, Niime, Hugh, etc.

Hi, I started planning my own KND fic, and started with figuring out the ages and birthdates, and I have to ask. 1. How was it for you the process of coming up with a chronology of a show that doesn't really have a set and consistent timeline? 2. In what year does your fic takes place?

My process and answer is long so have it at under the cut

The first part of my process was deciding if I wanted a set timeline or just to go with what worked for me from fic to fic. Over the years (and after watching the series hundreds of times and taking novels worth of notes and screenshots), I’ve settled on a set timeline that works for me and what I like to do.

(Fun fact: I have 3 different timelines! 1 is the main one I use, and the other two are bit more loose depending on the AU I wrote. In one, the GKND doesn’t exist.)

First, I would decide how religiously you want to try and make sense of the timeline the show tries to give us. There aren’t many, but there are a few events that have specific years that can be pinned down. For example, one is the Great Junior High Rebellion of ‘99 where the recommissioning module was allegedly “damaged beyond repair” (maybe they didn’t try turning it off and back on again?). The next one is 1969 where the KND faked the moon landing so adults wouldn’t discover the Moonbase. They’re small throwaway mentions, but important if you need some dates to anchor to.

Also consider that (probably almost) everything in season 6 that’s not a flashback happens AFTER Op. ZERO due to the shots of the Moonbase being the rebuilt Moonbase Zero.

Now, saying all that, my next piece of advice may be weird, but honestly, I think it’s important: don’t stress too much about it! Details are essential, but getting hung up on them can be a headache and stop the process. As you mentioned, the show doesn’t have a consistent timeline, so trying to make sense of everything will run you up a wall.

Just breathe and pick any year or era you want that makes sense or resonates with you! Wanna set it in 2018 or even in 2024? Go for it!

But why aren't kids/teens seen using smartphones? Maybe there’s super duper strict regulation that keeps anyone under 13 (perhaps even 18 because Father apparently controls the Teen Ninjas) from not having smartphones, and the KND uses 2x4 tech as a way to get around it. There’s already legislation in the works in the US that does this already to ban kids from using social media.

How come sector V are all in the same grade yet are different ages? Again, maybe in this world, there’s some super weird law the adult villains lobbied for that keeps kids in certain grades for extended times. There was literally an episode that ended with a 4th Grade President going to City Hall and coming out and saying, “by the way, school day ends at 8:25pm now. Sucks to suck, also Father is the best.”

Let the show's lack of a consistent timeline be an unexpected strength! Besides one or two cultural nods as the show evolves, there's not too much to date it. For example, they make up corporations and franchises to parody real ones and never give the name of a sitting world leader.

Also, it’s a cartoon, and their world is not bound to the same laws as ours. It’s not real life! Be silly and stretch things if you need to! If trying to take the show and make it more realistic is your goal, then, of course, do that as well! Just for me personally, I try not to get bogged down with “this event or timeline doesn’t exactly match up or happen how it would in real life” because I’m not writing real life: I’m writing Kids Next Door fighting candy monsters or the living avatars of puberty.

I’m getting off-topic. Anyway, the last piece of help I offer is just (if you can) rewatching the show and paying attention to context clues in the background! In season 5, two shots of a gravestone end with 2005. So, with that in mind, we can infer a few things:

1. From wherever you put that episode in timeline, it at least happens during or after the year 2005.

2. The same gravestone appears again in IT, so everything that has happened up to Rachel deciding to call a game of tag, again, happens either during or after the year 2005.

Take that as you will!

For the next part of your question! If you’re talking about Cold Reception SPOILER AHEAD BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER BE DIRECTLY STATED IN THE FIC! ....

I don’t think I’ve posted any drawings of her other than her first, but i’ve been drawing rig a lot more like this rather than that first one. More graphic head shape, more upright ears, one eye hidden, mouth hidden by scarf, what have you. I think she looks cooler and is way easier to draw like this, but is a little less sonicy, im sure I’ll find a balance sometime. Rare carrion non-blep, this pose is cool but i did not even try cleaning this up lol.

And jerryjack!! She sucks so bad i love her. They’re Rig’s best friend, known each other since they were kids and learned the trade (killing) under the same mentor. She’s 11 months older than Rig, so she’s about 25ish. She hates consistency, commitment, seriousness, kids, stagnation, compassion, anything boring, and many many other things. She loves anything fun, stirring shit, lying, inflicting blunt force trauma, herself, lockpicking, and money. She’s purely self-interested and does everything she does for funsies. She’s not a part of the postal crew cause she thinks it’s boring and is allergic to commitment but hangs around and ‘helps out’ sometimes. She’s a hitman on her own, and has way more connections through that than rig, occasionally floats jobs her way. Also sometimes places bounties on her when shes mad. Or just cause.

Unlike Jerry, Rig is a very routine and organized person. She wakes up every morning at 6 sharp despite not being a morning person. Miraculously, she and jerry lived together for 2 years and during that time rig ate microwaved oatmeal every single morning and got groceries on tuesdays. All this is to say Rig is very methodical and likes routing and things that are expected. So Jerry lost their shit when rig called them randomly and casually told them that she’s starting a non-euphemistic postal service and also spontaneously took in a couple kids. Naturally, she’s very wary of squabble and carrion, especially the latter. Assassin recognizes assassin, silly recognizes silly, they try to kill each other and then become besties (who still periodically attempt to kill each other). As for squabble, she’s surprisingly fun to interact with, so jerry warms up fairly quick and becomes a truly awful influence on her.

Here’s the first drafts and base. She’s obviously a jackalope but calls herself a hare for some reason. Is part of that reason because i couldn’t think of a pun name other than jack like jackrabbit and ‘jack the jackalope’ sounded a little too stupid for my taste (as if ‘jerryjack’ isn’t stupider)? Ummmmmmm.

I’m still super duper undecided on jerry’s outfit and colour scheme. Every outfit ive thought up so far feels way too simple or untethered to reality in comparison to the postal crew’s, however i think the postal crew is a bit too complicated (or way too complicated in squabble’s case) and too grounded for sonic, so. Idk what to do abt that. And as for their colour scheme, as seen above her first drafts have the same red and green of the postal crew, but seeing as she doesn’t work with them it’s definitely the better choice to diverge from that. Saturated orange is the most tense and unsettling colour to me so i think it suits her off putting nature, but the white and orange combo reminds me intensely of like. 1960s egg chairs. WAIT and ulala space channel 5. And various stupid tech startup kitchen gadgets. Just generally a combo with a lot of nonthreatening and safe associations rather than the warning sign i want. Idk man i’ll workshop it eventually.

Also, cloak rig. Her previous red coat was stupid. Not sure how much smarter this is but it looks cooler. Still doesn’t usually wear it other than in towns to hide her wings or when it’s cold. Also also this is the same fucking pose again

I have a New Nintendo 2DS XL in white and orange. I’ve had it since September of 2017, making it almost seven years old! It’s held up really well in my opinion, especially seeing as it has been thoroughly abused and enjoyed by me since the age of 11. A particular incident springs to mind that occurred on a school trip— I dropped the damn ds on the floor and it slid around the aisle of the coach I was on until we stopped Dx

Some examples of my games!!! I originally took pictures of every single game but it was too many files for tumble to handle lol. The games I’m currently like super duper playing are Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (fan translation), miitopia and animal crossing new leaf! Casually tho I will occasionally pick up tomodachi life, project mirai dx and ofc I do my daily wordle on the ds lol.

My Bluetooth headphones broke a while back so I was exclusively listening to music on my disc Walkman, but I managed to get an mp3 player on my ds and now I can use this for all my music! It’s very handy and it works with the clam shell hingey thing shut :) plus because I have the rainbow light mod I can look at the rainbow light while my music is playing it’s kinda silly but it makes me happy idk if the reason is goofy lol. Also admire my sick ass taste in music!!!! You WISH you had as good taste in ska as me

I also have an mp4 player chock full of Dan and Phil and Shelbizleee videos for on the go which is fun especially seeing as I can no longer get YouTube working on my ds because they fucked up the app and the other app and the website :( thirdtube works for a lot of people but not me unforch

I also do most of my drawing on my ds nowadays purely for 1) the gimmick and 2) the chunky glitter pens that I hacked into swapdoodle. It’s nice to be able to do more drawing for fun again because I totally fell off last year and it’s good to enjoy things

BONUS: archive of our own is more than functional on the 3ds browser. It is a thoroughly enjoyable experience to use it on my ds! Purely for research purposes I have also found Pornhub is difficult to navigate but ultimately useable. And for once I haven’t actually been utilising this feature I literally just get curious. Rare lack of perversion from silly girl we ball <2

i love digging into the underpinnings of systems like kidou (why do they call out the numbers? are the numbers part of the incantations? are they part of the actual spells themselves? who numbered them? who created them?), zanpakutou (what does it mean that so few shinigami have zanpakutou spirits whose gender is opposite their own? does it signify something in particular? does society in-universe believe it signifies something in particular?), the ins & outs of how Soul Society, the material world and Hueco Mundo connect to each other (is SS superimposed directly over the earth of the human world, like the Wandenreich was hidden "in" SS, or is it in a physically different place? what does it mean that HM is "between" the human world and soul society? why is HM's moon "in the opposite lunar phase" to the human world's??? WHY IS THE MOON BACKWARDS KUBO 😫)

2:

a particular subset of that is trying to figure out how soul biology works. reiryoku is energy that can be utilized by the soul; we know what produces and regulates the energy, the hakusui (soul sleep) and saketsu (chain binding), which exist at physical points in the body, if not as discrete organs. how does reiryoku circulate? is it analogous to Quincies' blut vene/arterie? are there spiritual blood vessels? nerves? meridians? what's with the "reiatsu vents" that were mentioned in relation to 1 (one) singular kidou spell and then never again??? (i'm imagining them like the pinhole punched thru thermos lids - they have a small but very important job, b/c if they're not there, Shit Don't Work Right)

also obviously, my Blorbo Of All Time, Kisuke 💚🤍💚🤍💚 (the rest of this is under a cut b/c i am SUPER DUPER NOT KIDDING about being able to talk for hours lmao)

there are precious few lines in canon that address Kisuke's backstory pre-TBTP arc, and fleshing out how he and Tessai came to be at Shihouin manor is certainly not an unpopular theme in headcanon and fanworks, but i fear i may have taken it to a very OTT level...

like, ok, listen. listen. if he was from rukongai (a common HC), most people there aren't really from rukongai, they're from the human world, right? so where was he from that he was platinum blond in Ghost Japan? obviously the easy answer is that people from all over the world end up in rukongai indiscriminately - but that wasn't as fun as deciding he was the son of Portuguese traders in Nagasaki during the tail end of the Sengoku era, and during the lead-up to the Edo era's isolationist policies, he was killed and subsequently wound up in rukongai. is that extremely convoluted YES, did that deter me in any way NO. i could not, though, find much information on what the Nagasaki dialect may have sounded like in the late 1500s, which i looked into even tho the fic i'm writing will be in English, not Japanese, and CERTAINLY not late medieval Japanese.

(i also looked up what the imperial era names would've been then even tho they're not going to feature in the fic in any way, shape or form. Tenshou, Bunroku and Keichou, btw. this is taking up valuable space in my brain right next to the permanently-memorized-since-2002 lyrics to Hamasaki Ayumi's Dearest)

4:

FINALLY getting out of the worldbuilding and backstory morass into actual canon events(!!) - i could also talk for hours about Kisuke's motivation and reasoning behind early canon's Hougyoku Plot™ (keeping in mind that it's likely just an artifact of kubo's plot swerve at the end of the SS arc, where he'd probably started out intending Kisuke to be a villain in league with Aizen, and the late retcon meant Kisuke's actions no longer made any damn sense.)

anyway, my favorite element of canon here to play with is that most of what we know about it comes from Aizen's dialogue at the end of the SS arc. so what if Aizen wasn't being strictly truthful? even if he wasn't outright lying, he certainly could've spun things to sound much different, much worse, than they really were - and, of course, in ways that would make Kisuke sound terrible if he tried to explain himself and his actions. maybe stashing the hougyoku in Rukia's soul was never meant to be permanent (he invented the only non-fatal method of removing it himself, after all); it was just a way to keep it close to Ichigo, to awaken & evolve his powers, but still concealed. maybe Rukia's gigai was never meant to turn her fully human (he would recognize the name Kuchiki and know she'd be missed were she to disappear); it simply used a similar composition to Isshin's gigai, so that a shinigami soul with a "dose" of human would balance out Ichigo's hollow.

that leaves room for Kisuke to have still been using Rukia and Ichigo like pawns on a chessboard, so it's not like he's totally innocent and absolved of guilt - but it makes him guilty in a way that both 1. patches the plothole and 2. makes Aizen even more petty, spiteful and dickish, which is delightful to me. it also leaves room for Rukia's powers not coming back after she transferred them to Ichigo to be because of the hougyoku's influence instead of gigai tampering - subconsciously, she wanted to stay in the world of the living, and she knew she could only do that while Ichigo was still taking on her shinigami duties. the consequence of a magical wishing stone that grants desires is that it doesn't only grant the desires you consciously voice (which is ALSO delightful to me).

5:

i love finding ways to explain Kisuke's Weirdness. like, sure, maybe he's just a weird person - but with the power of projection on my side, he, too, can be ADHD and maybe autistic! has trouble making eye contact, so he wears his hair in a way that lets him hide his eyes, and starts wearing a hat and using the fan to hide his face even further! Only One Outfit Syndrome isn't just an artifact of the episodic visual medium, it's because he's so particular about the types and cuts of fabric he wears! his favorite food is plain white rice and his dislikes are "too many to list," for heaven's sake! he just like me fr!!!

as a rukongai street rat transplanted into one of the most prominent noble households in all Soul Society, i can only imagine he and Tessai adopted their default polite modes of speech under relative duress - if they were ever found to be out of line, the "proper" nobles (obviously barring Yoruichi, who wouldn't give a fuck) wouldn't hesitate to put them in their place. in Tessai this evolved into pure formality; in Kisuke it evolved into a mild, polite register that he pointedly refused to make any more or less formal - a.k.a. "just polite enough to piss everyone off" lmao.

also on the subject of speech, i found out where Kisuke's "atashi" comes from!! it's shitamachi ("lower city") dialect, the old working-class dialect of Edo/Tokyo. in TBTP he still says "boku," so he picked it up only after he and the Visored came to the human world (Karakura is supposed to be somewhere nearish to Tokyo) and set up the shouten. as far as i can tell, "atashi" is the only aspect of that dialect that Kisuke uses - other more common aspects, like turning the ending vowel sounds of adjectives into -ee or -ii sounds ("urusai" -> "urusee", "warui" -> "warii", etc.), are actually used in Ichigo's speech to make him sound like a delinquent tough-guy shonen protag, lol. how and when "atashi" went from working-class street hawkers' slang to a feminine pronoun used almost exclusively by young girls, i have no fucking idea lmao... (also i have no idea if canon bears this out in their dialect, but the Ishidas are totally yamanote in contrast, right?? high-class, well-to-do, prim and proper, Old Money™, etc etc - they gotta be!)

one more thing and then i'll actually end this post jdfksjdf but! years ago i saw a post from @saranel about why, at the beginning of the arrancar arc, Kisuke talked about the Visored to Isshin as if he didn't know them that well. obviously the most likely explanation is "kubo hadn't finalized their backstory at that point yet" lol, but filling in doylist plotholes with watsonian pavement is part of what makes fandom fun! and her theory (i can't find the post 😭 sorry) was that Kisuke'd had a falling out with the Visored at some point during their exile - probably, given the Visored's initial animosity toward shinigami, regarding Kisuke using the shop to help the shinigami in Karakura. this is SUPER juicy to me, because i can imagine how shinji, hiyori etc. would've taken it as a betrayal, a backstabbing, from one of the few people in their world they thought they could trust - and how kisuke never, ever intended it that way, probably didn't anticipate it could be taken that way at all, he was just trying to help out - everyone involved is walking away from that confrontation emotionally scraped raw and bleeding, and i am LIVING for it 🥰

Arc-V Day 6 and 7

I'm a bit behind. Please @arcvmonth, spare me. Don't turn me into a card.

Anyway, for Understudy Spotlight I wanna briefly talk about Roger. I say briefly, because I'll save most of my thoughts for the Villains Prompt. For now, I gotta say, he's my vote for most underrated Yugioh bad guy. I LOVE villains who think they're hot shit, but turn out to be nothing but smug snakes. Plus, his voice actor NAILS his breakdowns. I was surprised to see so many people disliked him (probably Shōnen fans who can't accept a villain that isn't super-duper powerful). Finally, I love me some Disney Villain Deaths.

Anyway, Day 7: Of Amores, Per the Prophecy

Oh boy, does Arc-V have some banger ships. Some of my faves:

Fruitshipping:

Main-guy with Main-girl ships in most Shōnen anime tend to hit with the force of a wet fart, with Yugioh being no different. This is because they fall under the trap of making the girl be the only one who constantly thinks of protagonist-kun, whereas the MC is usually only thinking about fighting, eating, and their male rival who they're totally-not-gay-with.

Therefore, it's wild that these two idiots enamored the Arc-V so much as they, and it was via the use of a very simple trick: have both parties be clearly interested in one another. Seriously, Arc-V turns into an epic, interdimensional romantic drama from Season 2, and it's so strange for a franchise like Yugioh (even if it already happened in GX). Yuya spends as much time thinking about Yuzu as she does about him, and that's so refreshing.

One thing I love about this ship is how much they emphasize that the distance between them doesn't diminish their bond. In fact, it's the opposite, when they're separated that their feelings are most in display. Yuzu's duel with Chojiro is one such example: despite not being allowed near one another, Yuzu still had her feelings reach him.

Them being enemies in their past lives but lovers in this one also adds an extra element of brainrot for me.

Appleshipping and Fallenangelshipping:

I wanna re-emphasize this: we NEED more F/M ships where the guy is completely, stupidly in love with the girl. This applies more to appleshipping admittedly; seeing Yugo explode with joy from seeing Rin will never stop melting my heart. Male characters in anime are often shy of showing physical affection toward their love interests, but not Banana-boy. Plus, imagining how they grew up in poverty is interesting.

Serenadeshipping:

OMG THIS SHIP IS SO GOOD. LIKE I KNOW I HAVE MASSIVE YURI BIAS BECAUSE LOVE LIVE FAN BUT STILL. Ok so you obviously got badass and serious Serena with ray-of-sunshine Yuzu, so the dynamic is fun from the get-go. But we also have the fact that Yuzu became one of, if not the, first friends Serena's ever had. Plus there's the "changing clothes" scene and I'm sure you could do some gay awakening shit.

Also Yuzu is so happy upon seeing Serena late in the series. Just look at her!

And then when Serena betrays them she's so sad. DAMN IT ARC-V, THIS IS FROM THE FREAKING CAPTAIN SOLO EPISODE, WHY IS MY HEART IN PIECES?!

(Extra angst when you consider this is the last time they spoke before getting thrown into Arc-V)

Finally, I imagine she'd be happy to forever be with Yuzu at the end of the series

Lustershipping:

similar dynamic as Serenade, but with a rival-to-lovers tint. It's just cute, mmkay? Aesthetically, this is one of my favorites, Masumi's design is great

Genesishipping:

Sometimes, ships are more interesting for what they don't tell you than for what they do. The showrunners left the nature of Zarc and Ray's relationship ambiguous, which means there's a lot of possible avenues to take it. Enemies to Lovers? Sure, go ahead. Enemies that become lovers because of their new incarnations' unique souls? Works too.

Plus Zarcray fans make some Fire content.

testing done Ok. Tumblr Really didn't like that last set. You might see it 1-5 more times depending on factors. I was able to get it to post via just posting the poses and then adding the banner in an edit. Idk why that happened. Anyways. an elaboration of the tags on it in case those other versions are just in hell forever now:

Folk have mentioned the models agab before and I've seen some Pride Content from other art reference content creators, especially those who upload pose reffos, so i just want to like, put it out there that not a single pose i have ever uploaded is meant to only be used for specific genders.

The couples poses aren't het or gay, they can be used as either, but they aren't inherently either.

When i set up a scene i am not thinking of the Arnold and Elle as Man and Woman, I'm thinking of them in terms of their build. I use Arnold for bulky characters, Elle for slimmer or narrow shouldered characters. Id super duper recommend you do the same and not feel like you can't use a pose for ur blorbos bc their polygons weren't assigned the right gender by the devs.

I know it's cringe to use my own art as an example but really you should be grateful i don't make you look at it more often. Anyways these are just the most recent examples I have on hand.

I exclusively use Arnold for my character Arlo despite that body belonging to a cis woman, and Elle for Esti, despite him being a cis man.

Arlo/Maiden are just Bulky and have more mass to them while Esti is a twig. it would be Obnoxious but not impossible to use Elle for Arlo, just like i could be using Arnold for Esti, but it's so much less work to just. not care about the agabs . Have fun Be free. use the Arnold on Arnold poses for yuri. and all of them for characters of any build. It's good for the heart and also learning how to modify preexisting poses for ur characters is a really important skill or else you'll get stuck with like 2 body types in your art if you use them too frequently.

so this riamu is a mad scientist girly who is absolutely Not professional enough for her job! she never follows lab safety precautions, none of her experiments are legal, she constantly causes explosions or invents a new virus on accident or creates deadly military weapons and she's an absolute liability to the corporation she works for. not that they can fire her though :) she's too valuable to them :) and bad things will happen if they fire her :)

not only that but she's also a nightmare to be around

she has very volatile and explosive mood swings and sometimes lies about shit for fun and makes people vaguely uncomfortable and she kiiinddd offf has a god complex?? but come on she's just a silly hyper girly :3 she's not really mean to people she's just .... a lot to handle and overwhelming

riamu is obsessed with presenting herself in a certain way, rn she's trying to present herself as a quirky and cutesy anime girl. she dyed her hair to stand out more and she dresses up in jfashion... even when she's at work. its obvious she forces herself to behave differently too. she forces herself to be outspoken, bubbly, charismatic, and basically just super duper different. she wants to stand out and make an impression on people's minds and god she does it so well. her behavior gets on people's nerves but lots of people end up being intrigued and drawn to her even tho they dislike her. so instead of disliking her they end up loving her too

speaking of love riamu is . absolutely desperate for love but she can't keep a relationship to save her life. instead she chases after unattainable beings that she can't even date, including:

1. the cute lady who recently gained superpowers and goes around and fights crime (i inserted this character bc i thought it would be funny to make this a universe with like stereotypical superheroes and villains and shit). riamu is very obsessed with her and claims that the superhero is in love with her too but that's... really not how it is. riamu keeps a collection of "proofs" proving the superhero reciprocates her feelings and she's really just reaching so hard man. the superhero avoids fighting riamu and battling her because any interaction or confrontation at all will just enforce riamu's beliefs that they're in love

2. an AI system created by one of her co-workers that's meant to help around the laboratory. riamu please stop trying to seduce the lab's AI and turn it evil. it cannot feel any type of attraction and it would be largely inconvenient if it attempted to commit omnicide against humans and the whole planet

3. speaking of AIs that commit omnicide riamu also has a fictional crush on AM from i have no mouth and i must scream.

that's all i have to say for now about riamu. extra fun facts about her:

- she permanently cured her own bad eyesight on her own but she still wears glasses as an accessory

- she wears an eyepatch sometimes but everyone knows damn well she doesn't need one

- some comments her co-workers have made about her: "i don't like thinking about her." "she's fun but... you really can't take her anywhere." "id say she'd be benefited by therapy but nothing can help her anymore." "she owes the corp 10 zillion dollars" "i think everyone should be less critical of her" "the other day she tried to stab everyone in the room and then herself. this isn't the first time this happened." first off in regards to the fandom im not blaming anyone in particular but i do feel like a lot of people kind of infantalize him when he's... very likely an adult considering he's had two jobs. i kind of see him around the age that you do (around like 19-20) so seeing some people treat him like a kid feels Weird? idk i don't like it. i also can't blame anyone for also not really looking into his character deeper but i do wish some people did look into the fact that he's more than what's at surface level!!!! mostly my issue with the prison radar thing - partially hc and also my interpretation but it feels more like a mask that he's put on due to the stress and pressure of everything he's endured up to that point (the iron breathtaker, and how he was treated in the ice palace. romeo calls him "baggage" to just be "jettisoned" or "cut loose" to his face.). you know?

more can be seen in the analysis posts ive made (you can search on my blog I can't find them rn but they're there) but this inspired me I Will make a another analysis post thing about how radar's treated in episode 2 and how it influences him. think that would be fun!
