APPARENTLY, Knives like accidentally created an apple tree then decided to fuck off into the desert for like a year instead of dying (I need him alive for this), then happened upon Wolfwood’s grave, where said priest drags himself out. I’m thinking this probably takes place about hmmmm a year? 2 years? After trimax

Idk if I would do too much with this one since it’s mostly me being like,, wouldn’t it be fucked up if the guy you used to work for was the first guy you see upon coming back from the dead? But now he’s just kinda mildly sad and has been knocked down from his pedestal so you’re kinda on equal footing for the first time in your lives? (yeah this is what I mean when I said it was kind of serious lol). It’s mostly for me to daydream about what shenanigans they would get up to while looking for Vash, and also like,, we saw Vash and Wolfwood’s clashing worldviews all of trimax, and Wolfwood is sort of the middle ground between Kni and Vash’s philosophies, so what if he’s paired up with Knives now?

I also had the idea that maybe they’d pick Livio/Razlo up along the way too, just to make things more awkward. Also I think his reaction to seeing WW alive would make me cry lol

He read the rest of Kaminari’s messages the went to Mina’s where she was basically saying the same thing

Mina was saying “KIRIII YOUR GIRL GETTING IT ON TIKTOK AND SHE LOOKING FINE TOOO”

Now he was like “hmmm I gotta see this now”

So he closed out of his messages and went on tikitok and when he opened it immediately yours was the first to pop up and it had thousands of likes

He froze at the sight of you.

There you were, in the female version of his hero costume.

Shaking your thicc behind self all up in the screen

Even when you was barely moving everything was jiggling

Manz had to cover his phone and hurry to put it in his pocket when the commercial break was over

He was literally SWEATING while his mini ‘shima was abt to make an appearance in this interview if these ppl ain’t hurry up

He could not focus at all

He was fidgeting all over the place and all he could think of was you in a recreation of his hero costume

He looked EVERYWHERE but at the interviewer so he wouldn’t crack

Best believe when that interview was over than man moved like the he was running for his life

Manz was GONE in the blink of an eye

Them interviewers while so confused when Kirishima was screaming thank you at them while he bolted out the door.

When all of a sudden, in a matter of minutes, the door just busted open with Kirishima huffin’ and puffin’ at the door.

“Eiji what are you- AYE! BOY IF YOU DONT PUT ME DOWN!” You screamed when he threw you over his shoulder.

“I saw your Tiktok babe.. you looked so hot dressed up like me.. but you were shaking what’s mines.. you know better..” He said lowly.

You was trying your best to break free but my man had the grip of steel on you

What drew you out of the sort-of-trance was a two soft but firm knocks at the door - well Tom’s bedroom door. You’d been relaxing with him and Harry, watching the new ‘Line of Duty’ when your mum had called for the daily catch up. Admittedly, she had already tried to call you twice today but somehow you’d managed to miss both of them. On reflection, possible not that shocking because you’d been at a charity golf day with the boys which involved a fair amount of noise, chat and competition. 

Thankfully the boys had both done pretty well, Tom coming slightly ahead but that was the norm between the two. It meant they were both happily basking in their relative victories and not moody and grumpy like they are oh so often when things go wrong. Because to them, against your pleading, begging and sometimes lecturing…. golf was not just a game.  

You and your mum had always been very close, so usually speaking to her was uplifting and made you feel a little bit more complete - what with travelling with Tom for work, her voice was a slice of home. This time though, it was not so much the case. It was just sad news about your home town. Nothing directly to your family or close friends but still, it makes you feel generally down. 

Who knows how long it’d been since you’d hung up on the phone, just staring at the wall opposite. Everything felt just hollow and empty, lacking in meaning somewhat. You weren’t necessarily thinking, more like devoid of emotion, of thoughts, of anything. Just a bit cold. 

“Y/n…Y/n?” His voice sounded hesitant, as though scared he was interrupting your call. When you didn’t respond, the door cracked open and his fluffy head poked in, not that you noticed - your brain was still half absent. Tom on the other hand, was instantly looking you up and down, very much confused as the why you looked so rigid and not present. Noticing the phone was lying quiet on the bed in front of you, he felt safe to enter. He made a beeline for the bed, perching himself down on the edge, in-front of you - so he was blocking your fascinating view of the grey wall opposite. 

“What’s going on in that little head of yours?” His voice was soft and gravely, choosing not to put much energy into his vocal box as he rubbed up and down one of your arms. 

“Hmmm? Sorry, was miles away.”

“Could tell darl.” As he chuckled his eyes crinkled round the outside. “How was your mum?”

“Yeh…um okay, I-I guess.” As much as you wanted to shake yourself out of it, it just wasn’t that easy. Everything was laced with this underlying chilliness. 

“You sure? You dont really sound it?” 

“No, I um…well I’m not sure. I think I’m okay?”

“What happened?” You shook your head in response, making Tom press his lips together with a small nod. “ Don’t wanna talk about it huh?” 

“Not… not right now. Please?” 

With a permitting nod, Tom stood up and squeezed your hand, urging you to follow. Trailing behind him into the living room, he then instructed you to take a seat on the sofa adjacent to Harry, Tom himself disappearing back into the house. It made you pout a little, you wanted him to just look after you a little this evening but that self pity wasn’t allowed to last long - because a piece of popcorn flew into your cheek. You whipped your head around, with mouth open feigning shock, to see Harry smirking at you cradling a bowl full of other possible missiles in hand. 

“And what was that for?” He shrugged his shoulders, turning his head back to the TV.

“You looked sad.”

“…” Your mouth was open, no words coming out though, as you looked at the frizzy haired boy in bemusement. Sometimes you thought you understood how his head worked but at other points, the boy was a bloody mystery. Instead of explaining his thought process (because there almost certainly wasn’t one), he just smiled evily at you - wiggling his brows. And I know you know what that meant.

Sure enough by the time Tom reentered the room, arms full with different objects he’d collected round the house, the floor had been littered with popcorn kernels. You and Harry were squealing at each other as handfuls of the snack were catapulted vaguely at each other as you chased him round the room. It took Tom shouting at the both of you for you to freeze, slowly lowering your hands in ceasefire with a giggle. 

“I leave you alone for two minutes.”

“ It was his fault!” You protested, causing a 5 minute of ‘ he said-she said’ between the two of you, even if Tom wasn’t listening to the bickering. Instead, he quickly whizzed round the room picking up all the obvious popcorn bits and then spread out all the blankets he’d got from round the rented house on the sofa.

 You knew Harry, in his very own and special way, was only doing all this to cheer you up and you couldn’t appreciate it more. Your relationship with him had recently got so much closer, thanks to Tom being busy on set actually filming - while you and Harry just had some quality ‘almost sibling’ times. And now living with him too - naturally he had grown to know your tells almost as well as Tom. 

“Alright children calm down… thought we could watch movie?” Plopping himself down on the cream seat, Tom made grabby hands to you which of course you had to comply with. 

“I’ll um… I’m gonna leave you to- well to the being in love shit. It’ll make me chunder”

“We love you too bro” Tom called to Harry, who was already on his way out - but the tone of gratefulness in his voice was evident, he appreciated Harry noticing that the two of you could do with time together. 

“Don’t make it weird!” Harry’s response had you sniggering, as you pulled the fluffiest blanket over both you and Tom and nestling into his side. 

After a few minutes of Tom pretending to argue with you about film choice, before ultimately agreeing with your choice of ‘La la land’ as he always planned on letting you. The Holland boys were both very talented at subtly being a shoulder if needed, and yes you knew it was all an act - but you weren’t about to call him out. About halfway through he kissed the crown of your head and murmured. “Can tell you’re not watching darling.” He wasn’t wrong to be fair. Yes, you were looking at the screen - but your mind was far away from the plot line. 

“Sorry I um… minds like a runaway train sometimes.” Tom released a breathy chuckle at that before murmuring a ‘come ‘ere’ to you as he all but lifted you up from sitting by his side. You ended up lying almost onto of him, with both of Tom’s strong arms holding you tightly to him. Smiling into his chest, you nestled closer so the soundtrack to the movie played over the top of his constant thudding heartbeat. It took a few moments of you both just staring into the screen, completely contented for Tom to speak, squeezing you slightly tighter whilst the two of you watched Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone twirling on the road.

“I gotchu now lovie” 

And you swore then that all the thoughts racing in your mind were outpaced by those of a different kind. Still intense ideas, ones that buzzed round your brain, but these were happy. Thoughts of ‘how could I be so lucky’ and ‘I love this man with my whole heart’. 

Apparently these thoughts were also a comfort because when Tom looked down at you after what must’ve been at least half an hour, you were spark out. Breathing deep and unchanging, eye locked shut and mouth slightly squashed against his chest so your lips were pressed together. But what made the boy physical pout was the way you relaxed hand was loosely balled round a fistful of his purple hoodie. As if you were clutching at him to keep him as close to you as possible. 

He felt so grateful - not only for you, but also for the fact that he had the ability to make it a little better. You didn’t need him - Tom swore you were one of the most fiercely independent people he’d ever met - yet it was clear you wanted him. You wanted him when you felt down, the same way you wanted to be around him when you were overly hyper and chatting pure rubbish. You didn’t want him because he was the ‘Tom Holland’ you wanted him because he was Tom. 

He couldn’t fix what was going on back at your home (I mean right now, he still didnt even know what was going on). But he did know how to make everything just a little less shit. He knew how to be your person. 

And that would forever be job Tom was most proud of.

Somebody tickled my salty-bone (in a good way. I love you. thank you.) and now I wanna vent about the absolute shitshow that is Stiles and Scott’s friendship.

Forewarning, I have a v faulty memory and I like to ramble. So. Obligatory Read More.

hoo boy. Now look, I am a salty little sea witch. I don’t like Scott. I love me some Stiles. Listen, I want to acknowledge here that Stiles isn’t perfect. He’s not the best friend that could ever friend, especially not at the beginning of the show. Yeah, he says stuff that riles Scott up. And yeah, he chucks lacrosse balls at Scott bc he’s pissed off at him. And he gets him beat up by blaming him for keying a car. These are objectively shitty things.

Now on to Scott. I’m starting at the beginning, because some brit chick told me once it’s a good place to start. It’s an anti-scott favorite to point out Star Wars. But I wanna talk about the history of Stiles and Scott’s friendship in general. We’re not explicitly told how long they’ve been friends. It’s implied “for ages” but there’s a lot of evidence that points to them not knowing each other until later (my preference is the 5th grade, just after Stiles’ mom died).

Stiles had a boa once, apparently. But Scott doesn’t know this. Stiles was apparently friends with Heather since they were in diapers but Scott doesn’t know her. Stiles has panic attacks and apparently a social anxiety disorder, but Scott has no clue about it.

Stiles doesn’t actually share many, if any, passions/interests with Scott besides Lacrosse. We know Stiles can skate, but Scott has never done it before Ice Pick episode. We know Stiles has other friends like Heather, but they’ve somehow never been introduced to Scott. Stiles plays videogames “Online gaming community that battles mythical creatures” but Scott has no clue what he’s talking about. Stiles has a favorite movie series that Scott has never watched. Scott, if I’m honest, got totally shafted by the show. He has no interests. We see a little dartboard on his wall in his room. We see posters. But he doesn’t do ANYTHING except play lacrosse and go to work at the vet. Then he gets a motorbike, which I guess....is supposed to count as a personality trait? We know jack-shit about Scott’s hobbies, even though he’s the main character. And what we do know is in Negatives. We know he has a shit vocabulary. We know he doesn’t like to read. (at least...before his “better Scott McCall program”) We know he doesn’t bowl. We know he sucks at literally all school related things. We know he has literally no other friends besides Stiles, until he becomes a werewolf.

But to me, what stands out is how...unobliging Scott is about their friendship?

It’s established that Scott usually runs around with Stiles when he’s got an idea, yeah. Two bros being dumbasses. Got it. But Stiles clearly has this whole mentality/joke view of them that’s Batman & Robin “I don’t wanna be Robin all the time” but Scott just sort of...shuts him down? “No one’s batman and robin any of the time”

I acknowledge that it’s a sort of tense situation...kind of? He’s sneaking into an empty bus lot to go sniff at the crime scene. He’s not really in danger here? But his tone of voice is so dismissive? Like he’s completely confused that Stiles would ever think that. But if they’ve been friends for ages, why would he only just now be finding out about it? And why would he dismiss it if they’re that close?

Then, of course, there’s Star Wars. Like...fine, whatever, Scott doesn’t like Star Wars. Except that it’s not that he doesn’t like it. It’s that he refuses to watch it. He knows nothing about Stiles’ favorite movie? He gets frustrated when Stiles makes Star Wars jokes because he doesn’t get them. But even KiRA is willing to watch it, and he just laughs about it.

Jackson and Lydia were supposed to be garbage to each other, but she still watched lacrosse videos with him and he watched The Notebook however many times Lydia wanted. If the couple we’re supposed to think is shitty is more kind to each other than Scott is to Stiles, what am I supposed to take away from that?

There’s also the part where he never just...believes Stiles? Not unless it’s in his favor. Sure, it sounds crazy that Stiles tells him he’s a werewolf and he’s gonna go crazy on a full moon. But Scott watched his bite completely disappear. He knows the shit he did on the field was bizarre and physically impossible for him. He doesn’t need his inhaler anymore. He heard Allison talking from Outside the School. There’s so much evidence to back Stiles up here, it’s ridiculous. And Scott still won’t believe him. Stiles tells Scott he thinks Matt’s the killer. Scott asks him why, Stiles doesn’t have an answer, and Scott immediately shuts him down. He tells Scott that it isn’t Lydia, and Scott argues with him, citing a test that he later admits he thinks is bullshit! Stiles tells Scott that virgins are being sacrificed and he’s scared he’ll be next, Scott laughs at him. Stiles tells Scott he thinks he was the one who wrote that shit on the board, the one who planted the bomb. Scott refuses to listen to him. He warns him about Theo, gets completely blown off. And Stiles is almost never wrong. But Scott continues to ignore him and refuses to believe him. Meanwhile Stiles believes Scott about Derek being dangerous. He believes Scott about Derek being the one in the bus. About how Peter is going after Allison (He must be going after Allison, the national archery finalist who’s always surrounded by hunters. Surely she’s “vulnerable.” It’s not like there’s someone way more vulnerable following Scott around, someone that Peter might force into helping him find Derek? HMMM?) Think about it, when does Stiles ever doubt Scott?

How he outright ignores Stiles just constantly? Even after he loses his temper with Stiles in the room in episode 1, he still goes to the Fucking Party. Even after Stiles tells him he can’t be in lacrosse anymore because it’s too dangerous, he ‘tries’ to quit and when he’s told that if he won’t play one game, he’s off first line, he outright ignores Stiles and fights with him until Stiles backs off and lets him play, where he proceeds to do EXACTLY what Stiles and Derek thought he would, and loses control. If ALlison hadn’t been there. People would have died. A kid from the other team saw Scott’s wolf eyes. He exposed himself! Then there’s the parts where he just pretends Stiles doesn’t exist. When he goes to hang out with Allison, and Stiles can’t get him on the phone, and when he finally answers he admits “did you get my texts?” “Yeah, all nine million of them” that he was literally just refusing to text Stiles back while he sat in the car with Allison and did nothing else. He won’t tell Stiles where he’s going, and he turns his phone off once they get to the woods. He also turns his phone off while Stiles is trying to take care of Derek, who IS POISONED and Bleeding and SHOT. Instead of trying to do anything he willfully ignores it and makes out with Allison, then wanders the house with Allison, then eats dinner with the family. He could’ve pulled the ‘i need to use the restroom’ ANY FUCKING TIME. He could’ve explained in a text at ANY TIME what he was doing and why it was taking so long. he just refused. When Stiles calls at the pool, Scott has no reason to hang up. Yeah, the phone made noise while it was ringing but after he hung up on Stiles he continued to just sit there with Allison and whisper to each other. He could’ve fucking talked on the phone! There was NOthing stopping him!

Then there’s how much danger he’s happy to put Stiles in? Like, he still hated Derek and thought he was a dangerous thug, while ignoring Stiles’ messages and leaving him alone with Derek. They knew Jackson was dangerous and had attacked Stiles before, and he left Stiles alone in the van with him?? Jackson wouldn’t need to break out of the vehicle, just the cuffs and Stiles would be dead. But for some reason Scott goes to school? LIke yeah I get it. He might fail his classes. But Stiles gave up first line just to check if Scott’s mom was the Alpha. Why couldn’t allison have watched Jackson with an arrow pointed at his head? She was better equipped than Stiles and in no danger of failing classes.

Look, I know I’m only talking about the first couple seasons but I have a rlly bad memory and I haven’t seen s3a or s3b in a long ass time. (gonna have to watch ‘em later tho while I work on the rewrite)

okay so i’m not great at writing big paragraphs but i fucking love bullet points so in case i never finish writing the like... fancy version here we go

okay so her parents had her rlly young, her dad was 20, her mom 19. they were dating at the time but not super officially especially because her dad was from a well to do white family and her mom was half chinese and not white passing.

on this note calli was an oopsy baby for sure. her parents got married before she was born so she wasn’t technically born out of wedlock but conceived out of it which made her paternal grandparents be like “oh its the bastard child” and they already weren’t happy because 1. who the mom was 2. they couldn’t find a better marriage for their son bc he had to get married to calli’s mom to avoid scandal. luckily her parents do actually love one another

calli has always been like. ironically she’s the southern grandaughter every classic southerner would wish for. polite. soft-spoken. respectful, etc. so while her grandparents aren’t happy with their son and actually straight up refuse to acknowledge calli’s mom minnie (yeah calli’s paternal grandparents.. bad) they do wanan see calli bc its their only grandchild and calli’s dad is an only child so they aren’t gonna have any more.

so she does have a relationship with them growing up and once her grandmother sees calli’s disposition shes like “oh so the mother was just an unfortunate flaw in an otherwise perfect granddaughter” type gross bullshit and basically is like wow this is the daughter i can raise in polite society and put thru debutante balls that i never had and actively kinda steps into calli’s life.

i kinda imagine the paternal grandpa as like that grumpy old rich dude stereotype u see in all those movies so he is like there but not particularly close to calli. patriarchal type dude so he doesn’t have much interest in a granddaughter.

calli was always super studious!! like as she got older she could kinda tell there was smth up with her grandma like not wanting to acknowledge her mom and so she kinda was like if i just excel at everything grandma won’t hate that part of me anymore??? so she’s always like worked her ass off in EVERYTHING. academics, her image, etc.

calli was a cheerleader in school!! so i did some research and actually cheerleading had just started including women but i didn’t know this when i headcanoned it (in game calli is athletic and i was like hmmm.. where’d she get that from.. omg cheerleading would be cute. then i did research and was like oh. but im keeping it bc women WERE cheerleading at hte time just it was still mostly dudes. also calli went to all girls school thinking on it so the cheerleading team would have to allow girls.)

calli wasn’t exactly a fan of all the social functions rlly?? she’s actually pretty shy just a total doormat and too polite to like.. get herself out of social situations so she kinda felt like her grandma’s dress up doll a lot of hte time getting dragged to ladies tea parties and having to hang out with her grandma’s friends granddaughters who would like make snide comments abt her mom and stuff which just reinforced the fact to her that no matter how much she tried she wasn’t like “one of them” (aka the classical southerners) which caused her to work herself even harder bc shes like i’ll show them!

starting off strong I've been wanting 2 talk abt this more than I have but I just LOVE LOVE LOVE how flamboyant and fruity he is in this ep and I saw a post earlier which was basically like omg loki was able to be openly queer and self expressive and HAPPY on jotunheim which now makes u realize what a stiff and heteronormative environment asgard probably is (at least within the palace)

it just gives me sososo many feelings but mostly butterflies in my tummy HDBFHDHCJS like this ep is how I've imagined his personality for so long and I'm so glad we finally got it

and that's not to say I don't like his personality in the mcu bc I think ragnarok is a pretty good example of him being able to loosen up after leaving asgard for a while and also while he's stupid hot in the first avengers movie he's also under the effects of the mind stone and probably just so exhausted like I can't even imagine that I don't think it's a great example of his regular personality

and in thor 1 they are VERY reserved and quiet, a model prince if u will but like. they also suffer probably the biggest trauma ever in their life so far that u can tell that he's acting solely out of anger and betrayal for the entire second half of the movie which again is not a great example of his normal personality :'))

and in the loki series unfortunately they really tried to straighten him out and make him a regular straight man protagonist which I resent very much but it's okay I've rewritten every episode in my head and also his personality is a LOT more pronounced which is really nice bc u can tell that being off of asgard really does help him loosen up and open up and I just. 🥺🥺🥺

anyway also just makes me think abt how odin literally lied abt loki being a runt and probably magiked him to stay regular sized at the same time he created his asgardian disguise which is why I think it makes sense that in the first movie he turned blue but stayed the same size bc he also could only turn blue while holding the casket of ancient winters (the jotun's source of power that odin also stole when he kidnapped loki :'))

Like is it about their tropes or their scenes that made that certainty for you? it’s okay don’t worry! :D and I mean like... my feelings re d/elena were that it wasn’t necessarily what I was batting for but I thought the writing for it was good and like I cried when they got together forreal in s4 so like it’s not a ship I detest or anything I just was team dalaric first and foremost ;)

anyway mind that I hadn’t exactly put two and two together when watching it but when I caught up with S7-8 last year with the friend who was watching it from the beginning friend in case kind of alerted me on that like SORRY HOW DID PEOPLE THINK THAT IT WAS GONNA END ANY OTHER WAY IT WAS OBVIOUS and when I thought abt it in retrospective it was obvious I just wasn’t paying that much attention back in the day, but like tldr I’ll make it short:

usually endgame ships are not the ones you start the show with unless it’s like... idk something like the superman lois and clark show I used to watch in middle school where THE ENTIRE POINT is showing you that one couple that you know start and end together but like... for that kinda thing usually writers don’t start with the endgame ship bc otherwise the stakes are too low, but given that tvd books have st/elena endgame we could argue it’s not enough which true, but going ahead

basically d/elena was automatically set up as the will they won’t they ship plus the slow burn ship plus the enemies to lovers which regardless of what ppl say is the most obvious trope ya stuff goes for which already would start giving the kill bill sirens about where it goes, because like idk about tvd writers but if *I* wanted to write an endgame ship I would make them work for it (and we can argue that in that sense st/eroline was also... the same in the sense that you had the friends to lovers slow burn thing since S2, then it ended the way it ended but paradoxically st/eroline was written as more of an endgame thing than st/elena was if only for how much they slow burned it)

we can also argue that like... I mean take it for what it is bc I’ve seen s1-beginning of 7 while airing and 7-8 last year and my memory is what it is, but like... god I mean ya stuff with teenagers in general as mains have to do the whole BECOMING AN ADULT arc 90% of the times because they’re marketed to people who start them while they’re still teens and see themselves in the main so like while if it’s unisex or for guys you have the kid going off on adventures and shit if it’s aimed at girls it’s usually romance stuff which in this case means that main has to end up as an adult woman blah blah blah and in that sense... like stefan is obviously in the show the initial *safe* choice that she immediately likes and looks good and like the obviously easy lovely nice person to be with - let’s say more like a comfort zone kinda deal? - while damon is like I DON’T KNOW THIS GUY HE’S EVIL HE’S DANGEROUS SHOULD I TRUST HIM OR NOT HE’S HOT BUT HMMM and then turns out that it’s not as easy as that (and I appreciate the show was... very not stereotypical about it let’s just put like that) but basically stefan is loveydovey teenage safe relationship material and damon is adult complicated TRUE LOVE BUT I HAVE TO WORK FOR IT material (from elena’s pov ofc) which... has a more satisfying payoff as an eventual endgame bc in picking damon elena basically becomes an adult which is also paralleled with her being a vampire - like she’s a human with stefan and a vampire with damon before the whole cure thing but you see where I’m going at, like it’s all about symbolism;

that’s talking about elena but like basically from damon’s pov they also wrote the thing as.. his endgame because like idk if it’s gonna make sense but the moment you look at how both stefan and damon relate to elena, and I’m saying this as someone who back when airing was absolutely into st/elena and was lowkey rooting for it until I realized it was dead and gone and then I just went like WELL D/ELENA AND ST/EROLINE ARE GOOD SHIPS FINE THEN so this is hardly st/elena bashing on my side or anything, like... for damon it’s a lot more high stakes to be with elena than it was for stefan? like okay they were in love in the beginning but the way damon is into elena is a lot more all-encompassing on his side and you can see that in loving elena he also gets rid of his katherine-related trauma (which like... damon has more katherine-trauma than stefan like ofc stefan has katherine trauma too but damon beats it) because he manages to leave her behind and like.. stefan didn’t have those stakes with elena? and like the fact that his feelings for elena are framed in extremely romanceworthytragical-like terms (I mean I didn’t even ship it and I cried at that scene in what S2 episode 9 where he compelled her to forget stuff like... that shit is written like GREAT AMAZING ROMANCE STUFF in comparison to how st/elena was written) and that they had to work for it (bc there was the compulsion thing first then she forgot him then she was *dead* blah blah blah) put a lot more emotional payoff in the eventual endgame that it was than if damon had died, stefan had stayed single etc, like... they didn’t set up st/elena as the ship that had to overcome trauma over trauma to stay together while with d/elena they did, so XD

like tldr all of d/elena’s interactions in retrospective were written the way you write The Romance Of The Show and if the writers didn’t intend it from the get go then they look better than they actually are

also I can add that back when I watched this movie I hadn’t seen gone with the wind, which the friend in question had seen, and I was bluntly told ‘sorry in that scene in S1 where she dances with him at the school thing and she comes down the stairs they were framed exactly like scarlett and rhett in gone with the wind and you’re telling me it wasn’t meant to be endgame’ so there’s that too X°D

4. what do you do to perform self-care when you're feeling dysphoric?

hmmm that's a good question. I feel like since my dysphoria comes in a lot of different forms at different times it depends? These days I don't usually have severe dysphoric episodes, which is ironic bc im quarantined w my transphobic family. But when I used to in school from getting misgendered I would usually call Chris tbh. Or just try to vent to another trans person. And once in a while I'll look for trans positivity that helps me out a little. But other than that I don't think I have much of a set routine of what I do?? These days my dysphoria has been more subtle and like "ew I don't like this" rather than like going full depression mode. Like the back of my mind type of stuff. And idk how to deal w it??? I guess I just Try to find things to relate 2 and project my personal experience w transness on interests.

28. how do you feel about trans representation in media?

EXTREMELY important and very lacking. Like in movies the majority of what I find are only abt trans women, and all of those that I have seen are just flat out shitty and played by cis men 🤡🤡🤡

And it just makes me feel so invisible bc I don't see much of trans men in media. But one good example of ftm rep is on the show 911 Lonestar. It's a show basically abt firefighters. Has Rob Lowe starring it. I've only seen like 2 eps and it's not bad at all. They have a black trans man in the show, and though his transness is obviously not his focal point, I think it's so COOL how they portrayed the parts where they did mention it. He has this ability to read ppl and assess what kind of person they are because transphobia conditioned him to be careful and find out who they are before they clock him. And that's now a SKILL that he has and helps him get hired on the team. Like idk abt u but that's a gigantic mood and so telling of so many trans experiences. It's definitely sad that it's an outcome of such a terrible experience that he and the rest of trans folks shouldn't have even needed to face, but idk it makes me happy that he was able to take a positive out of that and use it to his advantage. Such a cool premise.

i’ve wanted to write abt this for the longest time, so here i am Doin It!! (apologies for how messy its written, my thoughts are all over the place & im not the best at articulating them)

one of the reasons zim is such an important character to me is because of the mental illness symptoms he exhibits explicitly in the show. as someone who has fought a long battle with ocd my whole life, i know a lot about how this illness works & see a lot of it in zim. whether or not the crew intentionally created this character with mental illnesses in mind, this is what i see, based on my observances & a lot of speculation.

the first piece of evidence as to why i believe zim suffers from ocd is obvious: his cleaning obsession. in canon, he needs everything to be clean ALL THE TIME. if a single thing is out of order, or not perfect & clean, it freaks him out. this is such a central part of his character that there was a whole EPISODE dedicated to it! in addition to this, i also believe he absolutely cannot concentrate if things are dirty in the /slightest/. he probably needs everything to be Clean Always, & when gir comes in covered in dirt & shit its just. devastating. his base is the only safe space where /he/ has control over everything that comes in and out, & a place that he knows for SURE is clean. he can control everything in it, therefore its safe!! which is also why going to school must be so stressful, as its FILTHY & when things are dirty they are Not Right. its hard to explain but when you have ocd, the distress you have over small things is magnified to the EXTREME. & zim definitely has the kind of reaction someone with ocd would have to those triggers. one of zim’s biggest triggers is the need for things to be clean, & its why he spends so much time making sure his one safe haven is free of germs.

zim has a definite phobia of germs as well, which doesn’t necessarily HAVE to go with the cleaning obsession, but the cleaning is a compulsion to cancel it out.

if zim gets preoccupied about something being dirty, he absolutely cannot relax until it is fixed. he couldn’t do anything until the entire base was deep cleaned, destroying every germ & mopping virtually every inch of the place! its very ocd thinking: all or nothing. it can’t be a “little” dirty, its always THIS IS HORRIBLE & TERRIBLE & FILTHY if there’s even a little dust. something i used to struggle with a lot was that i couldn’t use my electronics as i was scared i’d make them too dirty; even if my hands were clean. i couldn’t touch my computer or my phone because the very thought of leaving fingerprints on it or somehow else making it dirty was too terrifying to face. maybe zim would have a similar experience, not wanting to do certain things in his lab in the case he would “ruin” his equipment, if that makes sense?

zim also wouldn’t wanna touch things that are even remotely dirty that another person has used, this is dumb but like using someone elses headphones (which is complicated cuz ANTENNA) or wearing someone elses clothes, its just. Beyond disgusting to him

perfectionism:

zim is the kind of person who needs things to be “perfect” & if they’re not perfect, then it might as well be worthless. im positive zim needs everything in his lab to be absolutely how it “should be” & if there’s one thing out of line, it’ll mess up his whole thought process. & if it does, he’ll spend hours ruminating abt it.

zim obsesses for sure, over dib, & over his mission. he really REALLY wants to do a good job, & the way his mind thinks to accomplish this, in addition to other things is to obsess. zim is a huge perfectionist & he wants to be sure he is doing well, & to be perfect in the eyes of his empire. a lot of this ties in to his self worth issues, but some of it could have ocd to blame. he wants his inventions to be perfect, his projects to be perfect, his plans, etc. there can be no room for error. if something doesn’t go exactly as planned, its automatically the Worst & even if there is a small flaw, something no one else would notice, zim will, & it will bother him immensely. he wants to live up to his full potential & erase any indication of his “defectiveness” so if something is a little wrong, then its a big deal to him.

a lot of this next part is my own speculation but i like to think zim engages in compulsions as well?& it would only make sense to me as someone who’s lived it that zim’s ocd would branch out to other aspects of his life as well,since thats just the nature of the illness. zim could have “safe numbers” & do things a certain amount of times in order to be safe & “right”. having a safe number would also mean having a bad number that he’d avoid at all costs, so just like little things, maybe the amt of times he taps his foot, or blinks, or thinks abt something, itll always have to be the safe number & never the Bad Number.

im sure he’d get ocd intrusive thoughts as well, like hurting the people he cares about, things along those lines. thoughts that are inherently ocd intrusive. except sometimes he actually ACTS on these, he’ll get the thought “hmmm i could literally destroy half my home planet” & then actually GETS INTO A MEGADOOMER & DOES IT???

i definetly don’t think jhonen meant to do it, but he’s written a character who exhibits So many symptoms of ocd, & while zim isn’t rly supposed to be that much of a sympathetic character (ur supposed to look at him & think, oh ur Rly Stupid & u do a lot of dumb things) but what i see is a v severely damaged person who is behaving the only ways they know how. & i wish the show could go into deeper introspection abt it, but i know it wouldn’t because thats not the style of the show.

anyways. thats my two cents, you can take it or leave it. a lot of it, probably most of it is my personal hc but it means a lot to me if you’ve read this far & perhaps see what i see!
