The way Becky—the normally fashionable and put together teenager—rushes to school at 6 in the morning with no makeup, her hair in a messy bun, and in Superman pyjamas just for Tori. The way she admits to be “putting on a smile” for her friends to seem “normal”. The way Tori finally realizes that perhaps Becky is as deranged as she is. That perhaps they aren’t so different after all, and that her best friend is willing to do anything for her.

Thinking about how Phoenix did everything for love, from writing relentlessly letters to get attention to almost killing him self in court.
And then, it came to him, in the darkest hour, in the form of a little girl, just as lost as he is.

So I just saw a post I wanted to reblog but then I remembered that my two IRL friends would see the reblog
I don't want them to be more concerned about my mental health than theya already are so I have to keep stopping myself from reblogging stuff-

I'm so conflicted about this whole situation 😕. It hurts to think about how someone I've grown up listening to and admiring not having the same views as me. Especially when most of the things ge's said and done up to this shows a different story. Like what about equality for everyone.
Do you think you're opinion of him would change if he came out with a statement explaining everything from the hammer to the flag? I don't want to give up on him especially since I went to go see him for the first time on Saturday. I don't want that memory tainted.
i think it’s normal to love someone and not like some of the things they do. i don’t believe it makes you a bad person because i believe we’re far more abstract than we think we are, and our feelings will always get messy and confusing at some point so trying to stick to black or white can seem very unfair and overwhelming because as a human being, the grey area is significant.
i think about this the way i think about family and friends. sure i’m not friends with predators or something, but so many of the people i’m close to have done and said things that are different than my views and that can even be offensive, but i think cancelling people is too idealistic and cancels out the necessary emotional part in you that monitors your moral compass. you know what’s right and you know what’s wrong.
i know he has a platform and everything but at the end of the day, he’s just another celebrity.
take what you like and leave the parts that you don’t. he gives amazing shows. his songs are great. his style is incredible (excluding all the shit show outfits). his stance is blurry. he has questionable friends. he’s changed drastically. his persona now feels too unreal. oh well.
have fun with what you actually have fun with without denying yourself of it because at the end of the day, he’s not straight-up anything. he’s just confusing. i don’t believe he’s a zionist in the sense that he favors the occupational state of israel over palestine, but i think he supports the slimy “peace for all” narrative thinking that he’s doing the world a favor because how can peace ever be a bad solution? i don’t think he’s read about it and educated himself on why the “peace” narrative is wrong and serves the genocidal, occupational party and not the natives.
it’s obvious that you just feel guilty for not being able to hate him. i think anybody expecting you to hate someone who’s had a great impact on your life is delusional and unfair. don’t be too hard on yourself. :) xx

I love it when people use "shrimp" to mean "beyond the human range". like "shrimp colors" but applied to other things. "shrimp emotions" "shrimp sounds" "shrimp morality", as if shrimp are living some kind of transcendent existence that humans can never comprehend

that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol

My grandfather and my godfather (a beloved neighbor and dear family friend) had a long standing bet- for one dollar- about who would die first. Both of them being slightly pessimistic (in the funny way), they both insisted that they themselves would be the first to die. Any time my grandfather had a health scare, he’d gleefully call up my godfather to boast that he’d be passing “any day now” and he was sure to win the bet. It was a big family joke and they were always amiably sparring and comparing notes about who was in worse shape, medically speaking.
When my grandfather was in hospice care dying of liver cancer, my godfather was quite ill also. It took him great effort to make the journey to see his dying friend. As he came into the room, supported by a family member, he shuffled to my grandpa’s bedside and silently handed him a dollar bill. He was ceding his loss of the bet, as they both knew who was going first. My grandpa had been in quite bad shape for a while and was no longer able to speak but let me tell you he snatched that dollar with unexpected strength and literally laughed aloud. He knew exactly what the gesture meant and he couldn’t help but find the humor within the grief. It was the last time any of us heard my grandpa laugh, as he passed shortly after.
When I talk about my appreciation for “dark humor” I’m not so much thinking about edgy jokes, but rather the human instinct to somehow, impossibly, both find and appreciate the absurdity that is so often folded into the profound grief of life and death. When I tell this story I think it kind of perturbs people sometimes, but it’s honestly one of my favorite memories about two men I really deeply admired. I could never hope for anything more than for my loved ones to remember me laughing until the very end, and taking joy in a little joke as one of my final acts.

south africa was banned in the olympics in 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 & 1992. a total of 8 times. for 28 years they didn't set foot in the olympics. you know why? apartheid. apparently the olympics disagreed with the apartheid regime in south africa. russia & belarus aren't allowed to take part in the olympics this year. you know why? because of their involvement in the war in ukraine. several countries throughout history haven't been allowed to participate in the olympics because of various reason from their involvement in war to human rights abuses. now if the olympics aren't blind to all that... why in the world are they blind to what israel has been doing to gaza for the past 10 months? why is a genocidal apartheid nation allowed to participate in the olympics when any other country in its place would've been banned?

Funniest thing about modern gravity falls fans is probably the fact they're seeing so much scientist yaoi recently and they'll come into the show completely spoiled. however, 2012 gravity falls fans did not have the luxury of knowing they would draw gay fanart of this thing
