I saw a post that said what if for season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, assuming it’ll most likely be based on book 2: It’s Not Summer Without You, it plays put in chronological order, instead of how the books always start with summer. So like the seasons would start maybe with them packing up and leaving Cousins, or even early fall when each family is back home and getting ready for the school season/college to start. And at first I couldn’t picture that but then I realized it’d actually be pretty cool! I know flashbacks are a huge part of the books, and now show too, but I think chronological order with some flashbacks still, to even earlier/childhood memories, could be a really interesting layout for season 2! Plus with some of the new characters and like Steven actually getting a storyline, I feel like it could work. And honestly, the story would definitely be easier to follow cause I do remember in reading the books occasionally I’d have to go back to their different recollections of certain scenes, lol, but that’s just me. I can’t believe this thing I’ve waited literally like 10 years for was over so quickly, lol, but can’t wait to see how things progress from here!

hi hello!! I’ve been wondering as well how will they conduct the show. It will always talk about the summer moments? will we have more scenes outside cousins and more… and yeah, I agree, it would be cool! ‘cause now Jenny has a lot of work to do, since she basically wrote lives for the other characters, so like you said, now we get to follow their separate stories and I’m very excited about that. It was so cool to see that and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to develop this. (Also, we ended season one with VERY open endings: will Shayla and Steven continue to be a couple outside the summer romance thing? Same thing for Laurel and Cleveland, also the drama between Belly and the boys, Susannah’s treatment..) and yeah I get you haha it gets a little confused, but I think flashbacks works very well in television cause they can change the colors so it gets pretty obvious we’re on the past. And I’m very happy we already have a 2nd season announced (even before season 1 dropped, which, crazy!) so we don't have to worry IF will be renewed and when we’ll have the announcement. 🥹🥹🥹 ten years waiting and then you finish the series in like 6 hours, I’m glad you enjoyed, hope it was everything you wished for!!

i guess this is an opinion? idk i just want your take on how if you bring a boy back from CA they just... lose their personality. maybe i’m misremembering but it feels like no matter who it is they get the same dialogue from the stick or switch onwards? i’ve played routes where i’ve taken carl, arjun and felix home and felix was when i really noticed it (bc he suddenly wasn’t annoying lol) idk if you will but if you have thoughts i’d like to hear them. if not thanks for letting me rant lmao

i do have thoughts on it and it’s that fusebox got lazy.

it’s not only just the ca boys, whoever it is we’re coupled up with right after casa kinda loses their personality :/

after the boys recoupling, there are a lot of scenes that are the same for each character, or there are like two different options of dialogue they can have. not only is the shared dialogue annoying, but it simply doesn’t fit the characters!

i can’t forget that one time where my mc told the group that she wanted to go back to work after the villa, and CARL told her: “i wanna respect that, but i feel like you’re not making enough time for me here” like??? Carl would’ve definitely agreed with her and said that he was itching to get back to work too.

i love Carl, so seeing him suddenly not be awkward around people anymore was disappointing. i liked that side to him and it would’ve been nice to see him interact with the villa boys. with Felix, he would’ve wanted to come across as cool to the other lads, so i was disappointed in not seeing that after willingly bringing him back.

i don’t really care about the period between right after ca and the boys recoupling, what pisses me off is the period after that. they all turn so painfully lovey-dovey and bland towards us. honestly! Jakub wouldn’t have brought us tea in bed, he would’ve woken us up the moment he did so that we could go eat breakfast and then work out with him! and clumsy Carl over here would’ve slipped and spilled the tea all over her. some of them might’ve done what canon says, but not all of them!

i don’t want to make this too long so i’ll just stop now, but feel free to rant about other things in the game if you want, it’s really fun hearing what people have to say <3
